Cameron Hamilton bekommt alles, was er will.

I’m just going to give a quick summary of Trust in Me... If you want the whole shebang, check out my full review of Wait for You: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... , since this novella is the same story, just from Cam’s p.o.v.

Avery and Cam literally run in to each other on their first day of astronomy class. Cam is taken by this girl that reminds him of Strawberry Shortcake. He wants to know her. Avery is very standoffish. Something happened to her, something she isn’t ready to reveal to anyone. For the time being, Cam tries to be satisfied just being Avery’s friend, but it’s difficult. They both have strong feelings for one another. They both have pasts, secrets. Getting past them and being truthful with one another, trusting each other with the past is the only way they can ever really be with one another.

 photo e6751cd8-b424-437e-95b6-e8578fd66540_zps7c84f71a.jpg

The very best part of this novella: Cam. The fact that it was in his pov, plus... I just love this guy! I mean, what isn’t to love??? He’s sweet, charming, funny and swoony. A perfect book boyfriend! Some of my favorite Cam quotes:
“I’m a shallow, shallow boy. Hey, it helps that you’re pretty. It brings out the nice guy in me. Makes me want to share my cookies with you.”

“So if I was ugly you wouldn’t be nice to me?”

“I’d still be nice to you if you were ugly.”

“Okay.”

“I just wouldn’t offer you my cookies.”

“You’re a good guy, Cam.”
“No, I’m not. I’m only good with you.”

“Fuck, Avery. You think I don’t want you? There’s not a single part of you that I don’t want, you understand? I want to be on you and inside of you. I want you against the wall, on the couch, in your bed, in my bed, and every fucking place I can possibly think of, and trust me, I have a vast imagination when it comes to these kinds of things. Don’t ever doubt that I want you."

“Well, that was... really sort of perfect.”

“I’m really sort of perfect. Everyone else knows that. You’re just a little slow on the uptake.”

“Thank you for trusting me.”

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of authors who never disappoints. I’ve read most of her books, and I’ve loved them all. This is no exception. I love the feeling I get when I read her books. They are always the perfect combination of humor, sex, romance, wit, and fun. If you haven’t read Wait for You, I would say definitely read it before jumping into this one. At the end of this novella, you get a sneak peek for Jase and Teresa’s book, and I for one can’t wait!!!

5 Cookie Stars!!! :D

description

Okay, I’m not going to tell you about the story of this book because if you’re interest in it you’re already read the first one and know what’s about, and if you haven’t… well, I don’t want to spoil you.
This is basically the same story (we have 2 or 3 new scenes, but nothing special) over Cam’s POV. We’ve read Avery’s side and why it was so hard for her to trust and let people into her life. Now he have Cam’s side and we get to watch firsthand all he did to finally win Avery’s trust.

description

What can I say? I LOVED THIS!!
Avery annoyed a little more than in the first book (but in the end of all she’s really sweet and the girls almost always annoy me, so it’s all good.), but I loved Cam even more than in Wait for You. And I was already quite smitten with him in that book.
It was great to see more of Jase and Ollie and I really can’t wait for Jase and Teresa’s story. (And hopefully one about Ollie and Brittany!).
And in the middle of all this… I really want another story (It can even be a novella) about Cam and Avery again because I can’t get sick of them.
If you haven’t read this (or the previous one) PLEASE, don’t lose more time, go buy it.
Jennifer is a hell of a writing genius and not reading her books should be considered a reading crime.

Loved This Companion POV

I just finished the first book of this duet "Wait For You" where we read Avery's POV. I immediately wanted to read Cam's POV, and so glad I did. His perspective of everything that was happening in their relationship was as fascinating and entertaining as I expected. I enjoyed it even more than the first book, as Cam is as delectable and enchanting as they come.

Cam could have his pick of any girl on campus, he is just that good looking and popular, but is intrigued and attracted to Avery. From the moment they plowed into each other on the way to class on college campus, she is the only girl he wants to hook up with. Over and over, he asks her to go out with him, and over and over she says "No!" She is unlike anyone he has ever met, a puzzle, a mystery, a red-headed knockout. He wants her in his life. He wants her bad! Avery on the other hand, seems to be immune to his obvious charm, or at least she is trying her best. Cam is determined to wear her down little by little.

Avery went through pure hell as a teenager. Her parents, high school classmates and supposed friends hated her for something they assumed she did. She has been treated as the town pariah since age fourteen after attending a Halloween party, where things went from great to horribly wrong in a matter of moments. She yearns for normalcy in her life once again, and hopes to find it far, far from home on a college campus, where no one knows her name or anything about her past.

Cam and Avery's relationship is a total slow burn, and I loved it!

I encourage you to first read book one "Wait For You" to get the entire back story, before delving into this fast paced, could not put down, point of view from Cam, the sexy, engaging and hilarious H.

How the describe the best, the feeling of utter love for a book as sweet and beautiful as Trust in Me? It’s hard to write something meaningful, when already everything I could say about Jennifer L Armentrout has been said. It’s possibly the hundreth time, I wrote that everything she writes touches me somehow. Sometimes, I get kick ass, fast paced and full of suspense novels that rock my world, and from time to time, I get beautiful, tear jerking, heart melting stories like Trust in Me. But I never leave disappointed.

description

Cam’s point of view throws some light on unanswered questions from Avery’s part of story. Everything unfolds and unravels on our eyes as Jennifer L Armentrout effortlessly shows us the boy, we fell in love with. While reading Trust in Me, I’ve not only reread Wait for You, but in the most stunning way, I was showed a really well done psychological portrait of a young man in love.

It was amazing to see everything that went through Cameron’s head. Every thought, every emotion, was pictured in the best way possible - it was sincere, simple yet complicated and realistic. I swooned to many times to count over Cam’s cookies and his turtle. Now, I have a soft spot for these freaky little pets.

description

Trust in Me was entincing and captivating, yet still strongly in Armentrout witty, sassy style, with great sense of humour as well as purely hot. I was able to see more crazy and funny scenes involving Ollie and Jase, and I can honestly say that next story in this series will knock my socks off.

description

For those of you who are worried Trust in Me would be boring, rewrite of Wait for You, you are mistaken.

Overall, I loved the ride through Cam’s wild and untamed mind. Armentrout made a good job to keep me entertained enough not to regret reading Trust in Me. On the contrary, she made this story more complex and I drooled over Cam and his cookies for over five hours ;)

4.5 COOKIES AND CAM STARS!!!

Note: I feel like what I’m about to say is common knowledge, but I need to say it before I see another review rating it 2-3 stars because of this reason. This book is a Wait for You novella in Cam’s POV so there is bound to be overlap. If you thought otherwise, PLEASE read the first sentence of the blurb. Don’t make yourself look like an idiot by stating in your review you thought this was book 2 about Cam and Avery.**End rant**

My casting :

description

The turtle :

description

In order to fully enjoy this book:

- Don't re-read Wait for You. You will find certain chapters repetitive. It's been almost half a year since I last read the first book so everything I read, I felt like I experienced again. I love that feeling!
- Make sure you're in the mood for something lighthearted. Yes, I know Avery went through a bad ordeal when she was young, but the overall tone I got was lighthearted.
- Have food nearby. I was starving. All those yummy cookies and goodies. My slice of heaven: cookies, cake, and Cam. Mmmmmmm...

description

Prior to reading this book, I had hit an all new low in my book funk. I had books by authors I LOVED and I DNF’d the lot of them (I’ll go back sometime). I pinned my hopes on J. Lynn to bring back my reading mojo and yep. This woman did it.

description

I’m not going to go into specific plot details since it was in book 1, but I want to emphasize that this is truly Cam’s version of Wait for You. You get to see Cam’s thoughts about his past secrets, his innate kindness towards women in general, not just Avery, and how he suffered from a semester long of blue balls.

description

“God, I sounded like a vagina.” - Cam

I’M TOTALLY KIDDING!! But really, Cam was the ultimate sweetie and he’s one of the few heroes I’d choose over an alpha male!! Plus, I just loved reading about Ollie from his point of view. Best summarization of Ollie in 2 lines:

“How he gets laid on a regular basis is beyond me.”

“It’s the greatest mystery in life.”
- Cam and Jase

I really cannot pick on anything that was wrong with the book. Sure, I was frustrated with Avery and the plot was moving a little slow, but these were both vital parts of what made this Avery and Cam’s journey. It’s just them. How it worked out. How it’s supposed to be.

One more thing. Don’t miss this book because it’s just a retelling of the first. It’s not. The feels and emotions are different. You didn’t get to experience the full Cam effect in the first book. You will now. Cam will charm the panties right off you.

“And just think about it. If ‘cookie’ is a code word, whatever it symbolizes, it’s been in your mouth.”

I need me one of those cookies!!! So if you're thinking twice about reading this book, Cam has something to tell you!

"You're going in the wrong direction, sweetheart."

Basically, Trust in Me has the same story and plot with Wait for You. It isn't exactly a sequel. The only thing that makes it different is the POV which is Cam's.

I love hearing Cam's thoughts here. I also love the way he's calling Avery shortcake , it sounds so cute!

But to be honest, there's nothing really much that happened here. Everything was totally the same with the first book. Perhaps I'm just glad that I was reminded of how I adored Cam and Avery in the first book. So yeah... I've got nothing much to say. Haha!

This story is Wait For You from Cam's POV. Not really much new, but still really enjoyed. I loved getting in his head, & hearing what he was thinking & seeing how gone he was over Avery from the beginning. My favorite thing about getting his POV was how he called her Shortcake. Just so stinkin cute!

 photo astraw.gif

My other favorite thing about Cam's POV was we got more of his humor. Cam is hilarious! Here are some of my fav's that he says. ;))

 photo 887ac3f2-18de-43f5-ba3e-4af2c35dabbd_zpsa8808331.jpg

-"There's always tomorrow."

-"I'll ask you again."

-"And maybe you'll say yes. I'm a patient guy, and hey, like you said, I don't give up easily."

 photo c7c120d5-ba96-4634-b36e-312905efbc2e_zpsa6171693.jpg

-I had to take things slow with my little shortcake. So I kissed the tip of her nose.

-If you don't have to chase a woman, she's probably not worth the effort.

 photo 80558778-d1d5-4448-8a3b-c547c16afee0_zps903ee539.jpg

-"I've wanted to be with you since the first time you turned me down. I've just been waiting for you to come around."

-"I'm serious about you, Avery. If you want me for real, you have me." Shortcake pressed her palms to my chest. "I want you for real."

If you're like me, I am so late in reading this one. I read Avery's story almost 4 years ago. Yes 4 years ago..... And if you know me at all, I love to read a series from start to finish, I don't wanna wait for the next book to come out. So, here I am. I'm ready to read the rest of this series and I am so glad to have finally read this one. Cams story, quite similar to Avery's and ohhhhh so good. I love Cam when I read him from Averys POV, but getting the story from his POV, hmmmhmmmhmmmmm❤❤❤

I can't wait to continue this series, and I'm praying we get more Cam & Avery throughout it!!! Bring on the next book in this series!!! Can't wait for Jase!!

This is book #1.5 in the "Wait for You" series. The first book in this series was called "Wait for You" and it was about Avery and Cam's fall into love with each other. I read the first book a few years back, and then got side tracked onto other reads. I came across book 1.5 on my Kindle and decided it was time to revisit this series! I am so glad that I did!

I actually thought "Trust in Me" was a novella, and probably a short story. It is pretty much the same story as book one; but it is in Cam's POV. This ended up being perfect for me to start with, considering I needed a refresher on Avery and Cam's relationship. If you are starting this series, and decide to jump into this right after the first book, just be warned that it is the same story, just in Cam's POV. For me and my bad memory, I was very happy I decided to read this one. I was also happy that even though it is considered book 1.5, it is 350 pages!!!

All in all, I happy that I refreshed my memory so I can move on to the next book which is about Cam's sister, and his best friend!!!

Nett und auf jeden Fall unterhaltsam, aber kein Muss der Reihe. Ich mochte 'wait for you' und auch 'be with me' sehr gerne, daher wollte ich auch gerne diesen Zwischenband hier ('wait for you' aus Cam's Sicht) lesen.
Also alles in allem nice to read aber kein must read von J. Lynn würd ich sagen.

So, this book really aged nicely. It's one of the few NA contemporary novels I read over and over whenever I feel the need and boy, it was as good as the first time. It still gives me the feels and has me giggling like a toddler. I wish all the romance books I read were like this one and the Off Campus series.

Everything was okay. Maybe not perfect, but life wasn't meant to be perfect. It was messy and sometimes it was a disaster, but there was beauty in the messiness and there could be peace in the disaster.

|Wait For You|

Blurb: Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up – he can’t get this feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.
Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. What will it take to help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery’s life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Note #1: I’ve read this books several times since it came out but I hadn’t reviewed because I’m way too lazy but the time has come *sigh* and what an amazing time indeed.

Note #2: This book’s a retelling of Wait for You from Cam’s POV and since I haven’t reviewed WFY because lazy af, you’ll find what the whole thing is about here.

Alright, so both WFY and TIN tell the story of Avery and Cameron and how they get to leave their pasts behind in hopes to find a future together. Things can and should be easy but as secrets are revealed everything gets harder and harder.

I adore this book and that’s not a secret and what’s not a secret either is the fact that I love this book more than WFY but, even though this one doesn’t really add much to the original story, I think it complements it really well. If I fell in love with Cam and Cam/Avery as a couple, I absolutely loved them all way more here and it also helps to understand lots of things.

Ah, let’s start with our main lady.

Avery’s a 19 years old girl who’s about to start college and she’s got issues. She used to dance and being popular but now all she wants is to survive and start over. She’s chosen a really far from home university in hopes to leave everything behind but her past comes to play and tries to screw with her present.

Avery was raped 5 years ago when she was fourteen but her parents made her drop the charges and everyone turned on her. Her life was hell until she could go out of town, and while she’s not closed to friendship, she doesn’t trust people with her heart. She’s haunted by her past and though she tries to move on, the only thing she does is survive... until she bumps into Cam.

“You love me?”
I smiled slightly. “Yes, sweetheart.”
Avery held my gaze for a few moments, and I saw the very second she cracked. When the walls she had built around herself to just get by every day finally crumbled.

I understand why some people couldn’t relate to Avery and while her and I didn’t have much in common aside from the fact that we both love Cam, history and dancing, she was still a very likeable character and I enjoyed her in WFY and TIN.

Now, Cam.

*sigh* How could I describe Cameron Hamilton?

He’s one of my ultimate book boyfriends. He’s just so fucking swoon worthy.
Okay, so Cam’s all about having a good time. It can be with his friends, with his family, with his classmates or with girls but for a while now he’s been off. He’s not being partying that much lately and he isn’t feeling like his old self.

He was supposed to be graduating this year but he had to take a year off and spent all those months doing community service and attending to some meetings to control his anger. Why? Because he beat the punk who was hitting his sister and the guy ended up in a coma. The kid woke up and Cam didn’t have it that bad but still. He can’t play soccer anymore and he’s afraid once he can, he’ll be too old for it so he’s happy working on sport therapy.

The thing with Cam is that he’s so very dreamy. He’s kinda cocky but not too much and he’s charming as fucking fuck. He’s pretty sweet, sexy and quite nice. He’s basically the guy you introduce to your mother and the one who fucks your brain out later that night.

“Don’t worry. I know the truth.”
“The truth about what?”
“You want to say yes, but you’re just not ready.”
“It’s okay. I’m a lot to handle, but I can assure you, you’ll have fun handling me.”

My love for Cam is out of this world but maybe that’s because he’s the ultimate dream, ya know? Like, what are the odds you bump into someone and that person turns out to be everything you’ve ever wanted and more? A sensitive guy who wants to marry the hell out of you and give you the best days and nights of your life? Cameron is absolutely perfect so he is the dream guy. He’s goals so maybe that’s why I love this book so much. It gives me hope.

I was glad she was asleep, because the thought of her knowing how badly my hands shook would probably have been embarrassing as hell. Boy, they were trembling too, like I'd never touched a girl before.
Avery...hell, she completely undid me.

Is the book perfect? No, it isn’t. I want more backstory. I want to know how Cam was before and right after the incident with his sister’s ex. I want to read more about Avery early years and I want
all the books in this series to be only about Avery and Cam because they’re my favorite.
I’ve read the rest of the books so I know what’s going on but I can’t help myself.

Anyhow, the dynamic between Avery and Cameron is quite different. He pushes but not too far because he knows something’s up with her and he really wants her to come around and while in most occasions I write off the guys who is hyper persistent over the girl, in Cameron’s case, I don’t. Maybe it was the fact that he charmed my pants out or maybe it was the fact that Avery wanted to be chased and charmed and loved so maybe that was it? We do need to realize when the chasing is good and when it turns out creepy.

“Shit,” I muttered, sitting back in the seat.
Avery ran again.
And I had the craziest urge to give chase.

They truly work and they actually complement each other but without absorb each other. Does that make sense? Their relationship can only grow and grow and they can argue all they want but, in the end, they love each other too much to stay mad but they know when to walk away. The thing is, they adore each other but they still care about themselves. It’s not a toxic love where one would literally die without the other which it’s something it always bothers me in NA novels.

At first I didn’t know what to say. I . . . I had waited for Avery—I had waited for her for months. Hell, I would’ve waited for her for years, but she . . .
Turning my cheek, I pressed a kiss to the inside of her palm. “Thank you for trusting in me.”

In conclusion, if you like swoon worthy sexy guys with big hearts and really funny times, you should definitely pick up Wait For You and then Trust In Me or read just one of them, it’s all good.

OMG this is Cam’s POV from Wait for You, but it contains a lot of scenes not in Wait for You. It’s called a novella, but it’s pretty long and it also gets you more familiar with Ollie and Jase.
October 26, 2013
My Thoughts:

❥ Loved getting Cam's POV even if he was a tad on the cocky side and there wasn't really anything new.

❥ I did miss Avery though...you definitely need to read the first book to enjoy this one.

❥ Loved "Shortcake" and how it finally came out.

description

❥ Could not put it down...and it can easily be read in one day.

❥ Is it weird that I liked reading about Cam suffering? From when he was wanting to be with her to when they were apart...it was great hearing what he felt.

❥ Nice to get a preview of Jase and Teresa's story. I always liked him but it was great reading more of him through Cam's eyes.

I more then loved every page of Trust in Me. I had a really hard time putting it down. And once again, I fell in love with Cam. Crazy in love. I truly enjoyed being in his head and getting to know him better. He was just as delicious as I imagined he would be. But I have to admit, I kinda missed Avery. What a shocker! While i found her a bit annoying and boring in Wait for You, this doesn´t make much sense without knowing her story. There is no doubt that this author is talanted and I can´t wait to read the next book in this series.

This book, or "long novella" was one of the most anticipated for me this year. And it didn´t disappoint. It was so amazing being in Cam´s head. Can he be more perfect? Where has he been all my life? He bakes, he cooks, he has a turtoise as a pet (so hilarious!). But I think it was his soul I fell for. He was so patient with Avery, he loved her so much and on top of that, he´s gorgeous and charming. I loved how much he fought for her and his pain when he waited for her (sorry Cam...) Sigh...he really is ne of my top book boyfriends ever!

I HIGHLY recommend this. It was almost impossible to put down once you started it! But read Wait for You first!

"Eggs-- you brought eggs."

"And my skillet." Using my hip, I nudged the door closed. "And I brushed my teeth."

"You didn't put a shirt on."

I cast her a look. "I know it would break your heart not to be able to see me shirtless."

I'm not going to do a lengthy review on this book, since it's the same story as the first book. So, go check my review for Wait For Me to see it: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

"I could stare at you for a lifetime. It would never grow old."

"Even when I'm old?"

"Even then."

Unable to wait any longer, I came to her. I wanted this moment to be perfect for her. I wanted everything to be beautiful and I wanted her to feel how much I loved her.

I enjoyed this book just as much as the first one. Except this one was way better, just because it was in Cam's POV. I LOVED it!! I LOVE him!! I didn't think it would be possible, but I ended up loving him more. Seriously want to marry him, and kiss him, and hug him. *SIGH* He made me melt so much. Anyways, yeah... I freaking loved/loved/loved him!

I kissed her, and it was like kissing her for the very first time. The initial zap, the shock of our lips together hadn't faded. Dumbly I realized that love made it that way, making sure that a simple kiss never dulled, never lost its luster.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I'm glad to say that Avery was just as an enjoyable character as she was in the first. I was frustrated with her a few times, just like in the first, but I never hated her or annoyed me. But I did like reading how Cam viewed Avery, and how much he wanted her. *SWOON*

"Thank you for trusting me."

I also loved how he nicknamed her 'Shortcake'. He was so sweet, and awesome. Why can't he be real?? Anyhoo, there isn't much new story wise when compared to the first book. You get maybe only a few new scenes of what Cam was doing when he wasn't with Avery. You get to know about all his feels, which I loved. It was really good. And again, it made me fall for Cam more. If you loved the first, than you will love this one too.

4 Persistent Love Stars

What's it about? The same story as "Wait For You" but from the guy's point of view.

The best bits: It's so great to re-visit a story I loved so much. To be honest , it's been a couple of years since I read the original, but many scenes were familiar and I really enjoyed the characters again. Particularly Cam.

The worst bits: As enjoyable as it is, it's just a rehash of the same story.

Recommended for: Those that have read the preceding "Wait for Me" only.

I loved Wait for You, it was just a sweet and semi tragic love-story, so when I heard there would be Cam’s POV, well I was ALL OVER THAT.

The thing I love about Jennifer’s books is that she writes heavily on dialogue, which I am a MAJOR fan of, so when it translates into an alternative POV book, you don’t get that much difference, except for the parts where Avery and Cam do not interact.

What worked for me is the Hero, I loved Cam in book 1 and I was eager to see how he felt and what he was thinking. I enjoyed getting into Cam’s mind and feeling his affections towards Avery. I also enjoyed the part where he went home and we saw his interactions with his family. I am also happy this is a 1.5 book and not a full book 2 book, to me that makes a difference. Trust in Me, feels like it’s a little extra special book just for the fans and not a way for the author to make extra dough. This I like. Thank you Jennifer.

If you loved Wait for You and Cam, well, Trust in Me is the perfect little extra something.

Actual rating: 3.5/5 Sweetie-Cam Stars

Basically, it's the retelling of the story in Wait for You from Cameron Hamilton's POV so there's nothing special or new in this one. That's why I got bored in the beginning and shamelessly skimmed through the rest of the book.

The only scene I appreciated is the same as that in Wait for You, which is the part when Cam surprises Avery on the holiday and this time, Cam's POV is quite interesting.
I pivoted around, about to apologize when I hadn't apologized for any other time I'd busted up into her apartment, but she was in the kitchen, practically airborne. Coming at me the way Teresa had when she greeted me. The same way my sister had launched herself at Jase.
I caught her, wrapping my arms around her waist as I stumbled back, hitting the counter. Shock radiated through me, quickly followed by a wild warmth that lit up my veins.
My arms tightened around her as she pressed her cheek to my chest and held on just as strongly as I held her. I dropped my face to the top of her head, inhaling her scent and soaking her response in, holding her close to my heart.
Avery inhaled a shaky breath and said, "I missed you."

Similarly, if you still can't get enough of Camery (or generally, Cam), then I strongly suggest you read this one!

“Thank you for trusting in me.”

I ❤ Cameron
I ❤ Jase
I ❤ Ollie
I ❤ Avery

Yes...this novella doesn’t bring anything new but I don’t care... I love the story toooo much!! Well I secretly prayed for some new scenes between Cam and Avery but it's okay ;)

Being in Cam’s head was great! As we know from the first book he is sweet, sexy and hilarious.

“What the fuck was Saturn? All I could think about was how close we were, how I could feel the warmth rolling off her body. I didn’t even know why we were on the roof.”

I love Ollie and Jase! These guys are amazing!!

“Be free, little buddy,” he coaxed, kissing Raphael’s shell. “Be free.”

“Are you guys going to be here all night getting drunk?”
“Yep”, they replied in unison.
“Well, have fun with that.”

I love this story soooo much!!! Can’t wait for Be with Me!!!

I've read Cam and Avery's story 6 times and I still think Cam is one of the most amazing book boyfriends. EVER.
Attentive, caring, patient, and funny. Do not even let me start with his wonderful soul and the kindest heart. Gah! I am in love Cam, I am in love.

Cameron was just perfect. I was sold on the scene when he makes breakfast for Avery.

You might think what's a big deal on it? I am from a very male chauvinist family, so when I see a man making an effort for his woman in a book, I immediately love it.

I felt really bad for Avery. She is such a sweet and innocent girl. The rapist should rot in jail. Her parents were horrible. I am glad she left them and moved far away from them. Cameron was so patient with her. I wished the big revelation happened a bit earlier,. It just happened towards the end and I kind of got bored.

Cameron Hamilton *dreamy sigh*.

Definitely one of my fave book boyfriends EVER! And while my experience with the retelling of much loved books from the male POV has been a bit hit and miss, I absolutely loved this one! I just finished a reread of Wait for You, so Cam and Avery’s story was all very fresh in my head when I started this book (what can I say? I was in the Cam-zone, with no intention of getting out of it :P). And even though it’s essentially the same story, I was still madly flipping pages, unable to get enough.

Cam and Avery’s transition from friends to lovers is absolutely beautiful. Both hiding secrets, and with Avery struggling to recover from events in her past, there is a lot standing between them, but Cam’s determination to win Avery over, combined with the sizzling chemistry and genuine friendship between them, can only lead to amazing things. And their journey to find their HEA made me laugh, cry and swoon all over again.

“I want you, Cam.”
“You have me … You so fucking have me.”

(yeah, that’s a line from the first book, but it’s repeated in this book and I had to include it because it’s pretty awesome).

There is a fair bit of new stuff in this book. We get to see a bit more of Cam’s family, as well as spend some more time with Jase and Ollie, and God, I love these boys! Funny and crass, but also thoughtful and supportive of their best friend.

“You’re spending a lot of time with this girl.”
“Whoa!” I stepped out of the shower, buck -ass naked, finding Ollie standing in the doorway of the bathroom. “What the hell, man?”
“What?” He shrugged. “Not like I haven’t seen your junk before.”

“What is it about her?” he asked, sounding like he truly wanted to understand the attraction I could barely figure out. “She’s not like any other girl you’ve gone out with. She’s fucking awkward as hell and quiet. She’s pretty, but—”
“She’s fucking
beautiful,” I cut in, daring him to disagree.
He didn’t. “Is she worth this?”
“Yes,” I said.

There are some new scenes between Cam and Avery, which I thought was a great treat, and, of course, there are repeats of key scenes in Wait for You. But seeing Cam’s reaction to their banter, and getting his inner monologue along with it puts a completely different spin on things, and I loved every little interaction!

“Cupping her cheek, I softly kissed her until her body relaxed under mine and then, shocking the hell out of me, her small hand ended up under my shirt, pressing against the bare skin of my abs.
It was like being branded.
Heat roared through my veins as my body jerked on reflex. Air punched from my lungs. She wanted to touch me? Holy hell, she could touch me. I pulled back, reached down and yanked my shirt over my head.”

Yep, inside the head of a horny 22 year old male, is a very interesting place to be! And Cam’s thoughts are a sensational mix of thoughtful, sensitive, playful boyfriend…

“I stood and went to her side. Taking her hands, I tugged her onto her feet and wrapped my arms around her waist. I lowered my head, brushing my lips across her cheek. “I’m serious about you, Avery. If you want me for real, you have me.”
Shortcake pressed her palms to my chest. “I want you for real.”
“Good to know.” I slanted my lips over hers. “Because, if not, this would get a whole lot awkward.”

… and sex-crazed (though it must be said - respectful) College boy…

I’d been taking things slow, so slow I wondered if I could go any slower. Every night I ended up going one on one with myself to the point that my hand was starting to get numb while I took notes in class.

Getting to know him better just made me fall even harder for him. He is such a great guy, and remains at the top of my list of most amazing book boyfriends ever!

“The truth was, if I was perfect, it was only because of her. It would only ever be because of her.”

I wouldn’t recommend reading this without having read Wait for You first, because it’s not a direct repeat, and you’ll need to know the full story before diving in, but this is a fabulous addition to the series - getting us close and personal with the incredible Cam, and giving us a bit of an intro to Jase and Theresa’s story coming up next and which I am SO looking forward to.

I loved it – 4 stars.
