To start off, Eva Marks is one of my most favorite authors!! The way she can tell stories BUT also the way she writes dark, kinky books ~ she's so talented. I was a little iffy about this book because it's MMF and I usually only read M/F, but I gave it a go and fucking LOVED it.
This book is dark, delicious, and disturbing at times. Three D's yet there's only two D's in the book. ;) Hehe. Anyways, this is a long book but it's worth it!! THE SMUT, DEAR GOD!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and I cannot wait until Eva writes her next book!!

Amara and Carter are a couple already they have been dating for about 6ish months. They are wild about each other, but both have somewhat of a Pinning to Carters Step-Father Killian. But since it's the step-Father it's a no, they don't want things ruined.
What they didn't know Killian also has been wanting both of them, but since they own this hotel, which caters to bad guys/shady stuff, he doesn't go after them. So secretly, pinning from both sides and watching from afar when Carter and Amara have spicy times. Until Carter moves Amara in. Things get a little more tense with the teasing and the hotel. Carter and Amara push some more, and Killian breaks. All three have a good connection with one another. No one leaves anyone behind. They talk over how they want the relationship. But there's one thing they don't tell Amara is about the hotel. They don't wanna pull her into that world. But she's a little crazy too 🤣 . So yeah, it was dumb to try to keep that a secret. It does cause little drama between them. But I'm glad it wasn't huge to break them up or ruin the trust.

Okay, so my obsession with Eva has now doubled after finishing this book! I honestly don't even know what to say when it comes to this one...it's literally left me speechless. I know that's hard to believe since I'm always such a wordy beach. 🤣
This is probably the darkest and most twisted book I've read by Eva so far, and I am here for ALL.OF.IT!
Voltage is not your typical hotel as its members are vetted and only certain types of criminals are accepted there...yes, criminals. So it's definitely a breed of its own kind, and it's run by two of the most ruthless men ever, Killian and Carter.
Our beautiful flower girl, Amara, doesn't have her eyes set on anyone, well until she does...
I absolutely LOVE Killian and his broodiness, like it's so hard to crack this man, but boy, oh boy, does he crack under both Carter and Amara.
Ooooh, did I mention there's a taboo/forbidden side to this story?! 👀 Killian is Carter's stepfather! And this thing they have going is out of this world.
Amara - oh Amara, I absolutely love that she discovers her true self and embraces it head-on. When she proves to these men that she is on their side and sooo beyond strong, it's simply incredible watching everything change from that moment moving forward!
Carter is straight up Joker vibes, and it's amazing. Especially when it comes to him and Cyclone! Woah, don't get on his bad side. That's all I'm saying.

Killian & Carter the stepdaddy/stepson due run voltage with iron fists and a trusty knife (no spoilers it has a name 😏) as long as the member follow their two simple rules everything runs smoothly but there would be no fun if the rules weren't broken right? 👀👀. The two rules keep not just the members in line but they also show that Killian and carter won't take disrespect lightly. Killian has his emotions on lock down until you poke the bear and his darkness bleeds from his eyes & his body, Carter wears his crazy on his sleeve and isn't shy about using his Psycho smile on everyone he meets 🥵
Sweet Amara might seem like an ordinary woman but she's just as unhinged as Killian and Carter. Her eccentric energy and quirky personality draws everyone to her but not always for the right reasons. Amara might seem like she doesn't belong in Carter and Killian's world but she proves to them that she fits in perfectly. Her own darkness and brand of crazy is exactly what they need.

• The three MCs, Amara, Carter, and Killian. Gahhh, what a delicious trio. You think Amara is this sweet delicate flower, total play on words. But she is just as crazy as our unhinged men. It ends up being the best little family. They would do anything for one another, and I was so stoked as I “watched” it all unfold.
• I honestly don’t even want to say too much about this one, just know, if the tropes are your thing, you will NOT be disappointed. I sure wasn’t 😏😏😏

Interesting story, annoying FMC
I read somewhere that the author based Carter and Amara on Joker and Harley Quinn, which immediately had my defenses up. Unfortunately I was right in not immediately being endeared to the fanfic side of this. Yes, Carter embodies the Joker quite well, but Amara is just fucking annoying.
I did enjoy the taboo side of the story- inviting his step dad in, but the whole secrecy of "we run this hotel for criminals and can't tell her" and the other side of the relationship "protect her at all costs she's so innocent!" was annoying. I feel like they could have had a lot more "fun" as a throuple in charge of a safe haven for criminals had they told her from the beginning who they were and what they did.
I did appreciate their boundary in the relationship- all fun without clothing MUST include the 3 of them somehow, if it's only 2 that's cheating. I feel like that was a healthy boundary to the relationship and one they all respected. There was never a "come on he'll never know" scene which made this throuple refreshingly healthy to read.
Really, if Amara wasn't so fucking annoying, I would have given this story more stars.

I absolutely loved reading Amara and Carter being together. They have such a connection and understanding of each others crazy without really know the full scope. Then to have Killian enter into their relationship was pure perfection. The love that poured off Amara and Carter for Killian, turning his heart to mush for them, was the icing on the cake!
Loving someone is never easy and loving two someone's is that much harder but these three didn't just make it work, they demanded it did. They're fierce devotion for each other, their thirst for destruction and their twisted minds were made to make this throuple their puppet. Pulling the strings in which ever direction needed.
You do not mess with Muffin, Killie or their beautiful pet without severe reprocussions or with your life. They will paint the halls red, wearing their signiture black suits and their most terrifyingly devious smiles. Which will be the last thing you'll ever see. Welcome to Voltage. Entered at your own risk but remember to follow the 3 rules or the consequences will be dire.

The storyline was more of a background to the relationship of our FMC and the two MMCs. It was a total smutfest, between the three with a little violence and at the end our FMC shows her true badass colours.

I couldn’t put it down; the banter between them was so good and hot; this was a turned page and kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end. Get ready because this is the hottest book Eva has written.

I'm honestly not sure where to begin. This book had me all in my feels and all over the place. I'm not sure if I want more or I need more but I'm not surprised because Eva does this everytime I read her books.
The characters and their development no surprise, blew me out of the water. I adored Amera from the beginning, I knew she was a force to be wreckend with but with a side of sweet girl next door who owns a flower shop.
Carter is unhinged af and I'm here for it all, he takes touch her and ☠️ to talk to her and that'll be enough of that. When you find out about his taboo love interest in another unhinged male you know it's going to get real.
Last but definetly not least Killian, he's lurking, and in the shadows but everyone knows not to go against him. He's got a no bs attitude and may be just as unhinged as Carter.
Without revealing any spoilers I must say this is a book you need to read if you love unhinged MMCs, just as unhinged FMCs, taboo relationships and the crime world.
Check the trigger warnings this is a FMM dark romance with age gaps. The spice is spicing and the details *chefs kiss*. Thank you Eva for creating yet another wonderful read. This has become a top favorite.

All the nicknames in this story are adorable. I love how tough Carter and Killian are with everyone else but are so sweet (but rough) with Amara. Amara is the opitomy of fight in fight or flight mode. I was so scared at the break in. That first night with the three of them in the house was hot. Even running can't get Carter and Amara off Killian's mind. That twist at the end was insane. The ending was exactly what I needed.

Are people reading a different book than me?? Or am I getting too old to be reading about dumb teenage FmCs?? (I’m 32 😒) she has one personality trait: horny.
Once I read “I stomped my foot and put my hand on my hip” I was so done. Really? A man breaks into your house, holds a gun to your head and you do that? Throw a fit because you he ruined your date plans for hot sex with your boyfriend?
I skimmed to see if the books story makes up for anything… it doesn’t. The whole book is sex. Maybe if the FMC wasn’t so dumb and cum drunk she could have had a cool personality and saved this dumpster fire of a novel.

So Good!
Oh, I loved this book so much.
I do believe my favorite FMC is the ones who are so sweet and kind, angelic almost… until their psychotic unhinged side comes out. That is Amara.
I loved how the Throuple was built, with Amara and Carter already together. The angst and tension between the two of them with Killian was perfect!
But Killian and Carter are hiding secrets from Amara, and in a way, so is she. This was a fantastic dark & forbidden romance, with some absolutely delicious spice.

I loved the relationships between all three, and the different personalities, and different life situations made for some great dynamics. There were some great character growth, especially seeing Amara embrace her true self was wonderful.
Amara Carmichael is slightly crazy, but unapologetically herself, a total badass and really holds her own with the two guys. Carter Steele is quite the psycho, but he is also incredibly sweet with Amara and Killian and nothing and no one can get in his way. Killian Murdock was a complex guy. The 'old guy' and stepfather of Killian, he had a solid moral compass, but in the end love, lust, attraction won out.
Killian and Carter were quite opposite; Killian is the stoic and emotionless 'daddy', while Carter is outright crazy, but they complement each other very well and their darkness matches. Amara glued the three of them together in a way that just made it clear they were always meant to be.
The nicknames was a nice touch, the banter was great and the love they all had for one another was beautiful!
"Oh, pet. We're not making him do anything. He'll come to us on his own. Yesterday, we doused the setting in gasoline. This afternoon, we flashed him the matches. Tonight, we'll light the motherfucking torch."

Honestly, Amara's character reminded me of Harley Quinn a lot and I enjoyed her quirks. Killian and Carter on the other hand were two handsome devils that I couldn't relate to someone else. I know the author meant for them to relate to the Joker but I just couldn't see it. I guess they resemble their own selves very well.

I really enjoy reading Eva’s books and Voltage has definitely made it to the top of the list, it dark, it’s twisted and deliciously spicy.
As always don’t forget to check the TW/CW as some scenes and topics may not be suitable to some.
I devoured this book and it had me feeling all types of ways at the end, I loved the Continental Hotel vibe, and the story and characters just worked, unhinged MMC’s, stepfather and step son duo, not so innocent FMC, this book just keeps you turning the page.
Definitely recommend to all the lovers of unhinged spiciness with a splash of taboo readers out there.

This was my first read by Eva Marks and man did I fall head over heels for her writing! I could not get enough of Amara, Carter, and Killian. They were a delicious trio that I did not know I was lacking in my life. I legitimately loved everything about this book from the plot to character development. Oh, and the spice was SPICIN'! I was shouting from the rooftops to anyone who would listen to me that they needed to read this book! I highlighted SO MANY THINGS: ALL THE THINGS. The guys both had great inner monologues but I think Killian’s was my favorite! Amara is a total bada$$. You grow so attached to these characters.
If you want a no-handed read, this is definitely the one! Without question, a 5-star read, and this book also gets the honor of being my first 5/5 on the spicy scale.
