An Immovable Object: Unstoppable Forces

Rate this book
"I spent years trying to be an immovable object — unshakable in my faith, my loyalty to my family, and my determination to live up to their expectations. But unstoppable forces had other plans."

In An Immovable Object, Unstoppable Forces, Bug (Terry) Lilly tells the story of breaking free from the grip of a narcissistic mother, a rigid religious upbringing, and the suffocating belief that love must be earned through self-erasure.

With candor, wit, and hard-won wisdom, Bug shares the journey from near-destruction to self-acceptance — discovering that strength isn’t about standing firm against the storm, but learning how to bend, adapt, and change.

For anyone who has ever felt trapped by family, faith, or the fear of being their authentic self, this memoir is a call to courage — and a reminder that no one is truly immovable.

A beautiful telling of a man's journey through pain and healing. I felt as if I were with him through every obstacle and success. A must-read for anyone who has ever felt unsafe to be who they really are. I found the emotional depth and vulnerability awe-inspiring and comforting.
