“Want to try again?” he asked, still grinning.
“No, puppy, I don’t.”
“Do you have a nickname for me, little witch?”
“No.”
“Yes, you do. I love it, by the way.”
“I am Raphael.”
“Raphael,” I repeated softly, testing the name on my tongue.
“I had to put you to sleep before you burned down the entire academy. That’s why Lucien gave you his shirt,” Raphael explained, his voice laced with gentleness.
“Wake up. You can’t lose consciousness.”
“Theo!” I shook him gently as I repeated his name. But he didn’t respond.
“Do something! He’s dying.”
“He’s gone.”
“I think we might have to add them to our harem,” Chad said. “I wasn’t planning on bringing any more dicks into the mix, but with the angel dude in the picture, we don’t stand a chance, and that grumpy one probably wants her too.”
“I think my wooing is working, although I sometimes choke and end up giving her noogies. I think it might be sending her mixed signals.”
“They were desperate. There was an imminent threat, so they agreed on one condition.”
“Only if you offered your blood freely. That was their condition. You had to willingly let me bite you. My venom would not only bind our agreement but also free your abilities.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means…”
“You’re my wife.”
