This was a thriller! I had anxiety attacks while reading this! ( not really) It was a departure from the melancholy atmosphere of the previous books that I didn't expect. I expected things to be hard because Yu was coming back. I expected Koremitsu to be anxious most of the time because of all these girls fighting over him, but not murderous intents around them! But I didn't actually mind the genre change that much. It was a contrast to the previous ones, but nothing bad. What made me didn't like it, was the ending. How the hell did nobody call the cops?!!? Kuziku's actions were criminal! Just because Koremitsu decided to be friends with him, his actions are forgiven by everyone?!
Other character's actions were annoying too. Like why on earth did they stop talking to Koremitsu? They were receiving anonymous texts that were harmful! They should have talked to each other about them! At the end, it is shown that they were, they've just omitted Koremitsu, Honoka, and Yu, which I can't figure out why.
And the actual ending was terrible! Yes, it was a plot twist, but not one that was earned! Honasato's arc was finished, and there was no indication that she might have another personality. A plot twist must have some clues beforehand that are only meaningful in hindsight, not just straight out of the blue. Yes, the author could have made U-turn in the plot and made Korematsu the bad guy, but that wouldn't make it a good plot twist. I just hope the final one would be better. At least Asa that I like and had a suspicion about turned out to be a good girl after all.
