I thought my life was over, and then I met her . . . and wouldn’t you know it, she’s a hooker. I figure it’s fate paying me back for every bad thing I’ve ever done, because a prostitute has to be the most inappropriate match a man in my position can make. Still, I can’t stay away.
One taste and Cate had a grip on me like some illicit drug. I know it’s bad, but it feels so good. She’s a hallucinogenic. She makes me believe it doesn’t matter who she is, what she is, as long as she’s mine, and I know I won’t be able to rest until she is. Mine.
Author's Note: He's a billionaire. She's a hooker. You know the story, but this time it's told from HIS point of view. If you like Before Cate, check out Cat Haus, Cate's story.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. This is a perfect companion book to the Cat Haus story. John was alone after the tragedy in his life. While on business in Las Vegas, a poker game before his meeting was just a little fun. Until the stakes changed and he wins a night with one of the girls from Gus' Cat Haus. When Cate shows up at his door, John is felling things he has felt in a few years. Their night is almost perfect. When the night is over and she leaves, John can't wait to see her again. There is some kind of connection between them and he wants more. But can he handle her being a hooker? When during another poker game, Gus bets the Cat Haus and loses it to John. Now John owns the Cat Haus and all the girls there. Can John do casual with Cate? What will happen if John takes another girl to his room? Can Cate handle that? Can John survive seeing Cate with other men? Pick Cat Haus on Amazon(the complete story at http://www.amazon.com/Haus-Complete-S...) Then read Before Cate, John's POV. I love this series ans you will too.
I had the honor of reading this book before it got out an this is my honest review.
I had many questions when i finished Cat Haus about John and thank God i got them answered in this book! I loved to finally know how he is feeling, he was a mistery to me. Puting miself in Cate's place i would have been insecure, questioning everything. Here you read about his battle with the situation and see how much of a real man he is. The tipe of guy you wish you had!! One that doesn't play games, mature, protective, respectful... I could go on and on! I would love to see what is next for them!
this was just what i needed to finish the quesztions I had regarding the first book! i am so happy that Carrie Lane went head and wrote this book! John and Cate are a strong couple there is no way i could have went through what John did with Cate's "job" i think he is a strong man and Cate a strong woman. I would recommend everyone reading this book after the first one so you can put the questions to rest and enjoy Johns story.. thank you Carrie for writing a wonderful book! I hope read more of your work soon!
I really enjoyed reading this story from Johns POV. It made the story more real, like the circle was finally complete. Plus it is always amazing to me how guys relate to a situation vs how a girl does. So glad that John met Cate and these wonderful stories came from it!
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
First I would like to thank the author for a copy of this book. I loved this series and this book! This book was well written and edited. I feel the author did an excellent job with John's POV. I'm sad to see the series end. My only complaint is that the book was too short and could have been longer!
This story goes side by side with Cathause, everything happens at the same time only from John's view. Of course all those little mysteries that cropped up in book one, are now explained, padding the story this time out a bit.
I found John to be a 'people pleaser'. Not at all the hard headed businessman who runs a huge successful construction company. what we did see was his vulnerable side when he met Cate.
I know this book wasn't about Gus, but I would really have liked just a paragraph on what happened to him after he lost his buisness.
There was nothing wrong with him his story I just had hoped it would give more details of what happened after book 1 ended. There was a little more backstory but this book ended about where book one ended. Book one held my interest but this one did not offer as much new information as I had hoped.
A wonderful well written story about how Cate went from a working girl, as in Cat Haus #1, to running things as in Cat Haus #2. A passionate, sexy, intriguing & sometimes funny love affair filled with very steamy, seductive, sensual physical scenes! Very easy read that pulls you in! Intense and sexy, great storyline with fantastic characters. I couldn't put it down! I was hooked from the beginning! The story and characters were easy to relate to & in most cases, easy to love. All but one who is easy to hate. Loved the high and lows of the story & how everything comes together. After reading book #1 & #2 and then this one, I'm very much looking forward to book # 3 in the series. If you love HOT erotic romance get this book. Carrie Lane is a great writer of erotica.
I was so happy to read John's point of view of the relationship. to see where his mind was in regards to Cate and the Cat Haus. it also answered a lit of answers I had. there is just enough sex in thrill toe interesting. definitely read Cat Haus before reading Before Cate. I would love to see more of this story line so another book would be awesome.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was erotic and sexy, but not so erotic that I felt uncomfortable to read it. Loved that a girl that had decided that was what she had to do to make a living, could find someone that could love her and overlook that part of her life.
Although this book is really a recap of the Timeline in Cat Haus it is told from Johns viewpoint. It is just as good as Cat Haus, so if you liked that book you really should read this one too. Oh go on -- you know you want to.
