This book is a very high-level summary of Lady Gaga's career from the beginning up to the ill-fated Joker musical. I enjoyed reading about her career and there was a higher than average, for a book about a very well-known artist, new pieces of information I wasn't familiar with.

I did find that the order of material didn't seem to have much rhyme or reason to it - but with its magazine structure, it's a pretty quick read and would be enjoyable to Lady Gaga fans.

I was shocked at how comprehensive this book was! As someone who is very interested in music and falls into the 'fangirl' category, I knew a decent amount about Gaga going in - enough to know that this author really did her research. The different parts detailing different sectors of her life/career were separated perfectly, and I loved that there were even breakdowns/fun facts about each specific album/film. It makes all the details super digestible to anyone, superfan or not, and draws you in to reading more. I especially loved the section about related memes that the internet has circulated - I find it really impressive that the author was able to dive into such a massive fandom and extract stuff like this that isn't answered within a standard google search or whatnot.

I wish there were illustrations of the outfits detailed within the style section. The illustrations that are already throughout the book were so great, and even though there are plenty of pictures online, I loved the artistry of the drawings, and would love having a reference point right on the page.

This is the first book I've read from this author and of this nature, and I will definitely be reading more of her books about other artists I love! Read thanks to Netgalley!

As a huge fan of Lady Gaga, her talent and everything she stands for I was skeptical on how this book would come across and I will say I was pleasantly surprised. Let me start out mentioning that the illustrations are STUN👏🏼NING. They are spread throughout the entire book consisting of such a lovely art style while revisiting Lady Gaga’s looks throughout the years. As someone who is familiar with Lady Gaga’s backstory and career history, I really enjoyed the way it’s presented (while even learning a little thing or two along the way!) The chapter names are clever and punny at times which I appreciated. The only inconsistency I could see was in Part 2 while exploring the albums, Born This Way didn’t include the bonus tracks while the other albums mentioned them all. As you get through to Part 3 with Lady Gaga A-Z, I really appreciated some of the deep cuts included in the fun facts. While Part 1 of the book explored her life and career from beginning to present day, Part 3 presents an opportunity to give it a bit more depth and extra detail to everything we just learned without being repetitive. Lady Gaga is Life is a fun celebration of Lady Gaga’s career for seasoned fans and new fans/those just curious for more. Thank you NetGalley for providing the ability to read this book.

Disclaimer: I am not a little monster, I have always myself been a casual Lady Gaga fan, but my son is a little monster. While reading, I felt like I was listening to my son give me every detail of the life of Lady Gaga. The illustrations were beautiful and the synopsis of the albums, movies and Televison roles were well detailed. This book gave me a casual fan of Lady Gaga a glimpse into her world and into the mind of superfan. The title of this book was perfect: Lady Gaga is Life a Superfan's Guide to All Things We Love About Lady Gaga. Well done, I would recommend this book.

This book, "Lady Gaga Is Life: A Superfan’s Guide to All Things We Love about Lady Gaga (Modern Icons)" is a great tribute to the one and only Lady Gaga. Inside, you are taken through the journey of how she got her start, and all the various side quests she has taken on since. Singer, songwriter, actress, comedian - there is little Lady Gaga hasn't ventured into. I definitely learned a lot more about her background and history. My favorite aspect of this book would have to be the beautiful illustrations throughout, featuring some of the most iconic outfits worn by Lady Gaga. A great superfan or collector's item.
