Rosemary Clair holds her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia. After college, she worked in medical sales for several years before turning to writing full time.

While honeymooning in Ireland, she was first introduced to the mysterious land and superstitious ways of the locals. Both intrigued her immediately. Back on American soil, she began researching Irish myths, the lore and fables passed down through generations, and the idea for Heir of Earth began to take shape.

Writing is a labor of love for Rosemary. While typing away on her latest project occupies most of her day, when the sun is shining, the outdoors call to her. On those beautiful, southern afternoons she sneaks away to the barn to get a little inspiration from her beloved horse, Asscher.

Rosemary lives in Athens, Georgia with her husband, daughters and one very pampered pooch.

Rosemary writes HOTT Contemporary Romance under the pen name Evie Claire.

Oh God what happened after the first one? Where did this go? I hate it when a sequel to a book a really liked competely changes and contradicts the first installment!
So first of all; an Amercan girl goes missing in Ireland but reappears - no and I mean absolutely NO magazine would put that girl on the cover. A local newspaper might print out a short statement, that's it. This entire media frenzy that was created about her was just ridiculous! I hated it.
Then let's think back to Faye from the first book: the one that stayed away from humans because it hurt her and them too much? Yeah, well she's gone. She has two friends in college that are her bffs and she hangs around with them all the time as if she had never been a bit more reserved.
She also turned plain stupid - oh there's a woman in the river who grabbed my feet and tried to drown me? I better go and talk to her! Oh no, she's trying to kiss me, this is what Dayne told me about, I'm gonna die...... Seriously? How about thinking before jumping in?
Then she sees Dayne and he let's her go, the bracelet falls off. So she traves to Peru to find Chassan, the sun God and get him to teach her about her powers even though they're not even the same. But okay.
The moment Chassan enters the picture, it's as if she hadn't been completely obsessed with Dayne at all. Suddenly it's all about Chassan's amazing body as he soaks up the sun half naked. It's all about his amazing strength and his intruiging character - and you know he killed his brothers so he is such a bad boy.

Then she meets this native tribe and instantly bonds with a little girl and feels the need to protect her forever, yeah because that just happens to every one.
She then goes on to blatantly disrespect the tribes culture and gets angry with Chassan if he scolds her because of it. They argue but after a short while it's all okay, because remember how hot he is! Oh and even though she searched for him to have him teach her how to use her powers, they will spent most of their time doing anything but learn about those powers. But let's focus on this tingly feeling everytime Chassan touches her and let's kiss him because aww he isn't so bad and obviously she is the only one he can stand to touch. Love triangle alert!! And I had been so happy when this was pretty quickly avoided in the first one with Luke.
Faye returns to LisTirna and Dayne, the strong, dark and confident semi-god is actually nothing but a weak, whining puppy who follows on his mother's leash. There was nothing left to him that reminded me of the Dayne from Heirs of Earth and it was just sad and painful to read.

In the end somehow Faye ends up the new queen which made me even madder. Didn't Dayne do an excellent job of explaining to all of us in the first book how the crown is passed from one generation to the next? Just like human royalty, the eldest son or daughter is the lucky winner. But hey, let's change the rule in the second one!

No no no no no no no no no! Why why did this series that started out intriguing and really had me hooked turn into this?

Reeling from the firestorm that has resulted from her disappearance, Faye Kent secludes herself once more. This time, her seclusion is in a private college that caters to the elite and their need for privacy.

Faye finally starts allowing herself to form friendships and participate in social activities. Refusing to speak of her time in Ireland, she buries her heartache. But when uncontrollable powers start to surface, Faye realizes she must find someone to help her. Her only hope...a descendant of the sun god and the harbinger of death, Chassan. Heeding Dayne's warning, she hides her ultimate ability, but when the life of a child comes into question, Faye must decide to face a life on the run because she'll have to reveal her ability she kept hidden to save the child.

I loved watching Faye's character grow. She went from this mousy girl hiding in the shadows to a much more confident and tenacious young woman, with strength and determination to face her foes.

Chassan, the son of the sun god, is a very intriguing character. Caught between his duty and his inner belief, he is conflicted about Faye and the feelings she rises to the surface. It seems all the men in Faye's life are going to keep her at a distance till the last second before they reveal how they really feel. We are left wondering what Chassan's role will be in Faye's life...will he hunt her down for friendship, love, or death?

You know that point in New Moon when you thought “where the heck is Edward”, well I hit that about ½ through Son of Sun with “where the heck is Dayne”. But the ending definitely made up for it.

Son of Sun was a masterfully written story taking us deep into the South American mountains of Peru. We discover a contemporary world trapped in ancient rituals, lure, and worship. I would love to delve deeper into Faye and her new “sister” and hope she has a role in the future installments of the Forgotten Gods series.

The ending left me dangling on a cliff's edge, clinging to a clump of grass as my only hope for what's to come next. Once again, we are left with a huge climax, with only guessing where Clair might take us.

This felt incomplete and as if the author cast side aspects that she no longer wanted to include.

Just wow! Full review to come!!

Update 3/24/14:

I have been waiting for this sequel ever since I finished reading Heir of Earth. I didn't even know this novel had come out, so as soon as I saw that it was available on Amazon, I immediately bought it and started reading. And let's just say, I devoured this book. Rosemary Clair has created yet another heart-stopping, whirlwind adventure that will sweep any reader off their feet. This novel picks up shortly after Faye returns from LisTirna. She is thrust into the spotlight, and is quickly shuffled away to a boarding school. However, Faye's powers are still developing and she has no way to either control or use them properly. After several events at school, Faye, thanks to her new friends Sam and Mattie, hops on board a plane and heads to Peru to seek out Chassan, the Son of the Sun god, Apollo (or Itzi). From there, the reader goes on a roller coaster of emotions. There is much action and adventure, and plenty of culture that will satisfy mythology and cultural buffs alike.

One of the best things about this novel (and Heir of Earth) is Ms. Clair's impeccable writing. Throughout the entire novel, I felt like I was right there next to Faye, experiencing everything that she was experiencing, and growing with her as her powers developed. I honestly felt that if I were to look up, I would be in the wilds of Peru with the last remain descendants of the Incans. Everything comes to life in Ms. Clair's books, and it is literally one of the best feelings in the world.

Faye is still a wonderfully strong lead character, and she grows even more in this novel. Shen will stop at nothing to figure out how her powers work, what it will take to control them, and how to get Dayne back. I loved all the scenes with her and Chassan, but I especially loved the scenes with her and Anyi, an Incan girl that she meets while in Peru. I will warn you now, Dayne doesn't make an appearance until the end of this novel, however Chassan more than makes up for this. Chassan, as much as I wanted to hate him, kind of wormed his way into my heart. I will be interested to see how (or if) his character is brought into the next book, and what will happen with him in the future. The ending to this book is shocking and fabulously written. There was non-stop action, and a twist ending that you will never see coming. I kept hoping that I was missing pages or something because I didn't want the book to end how it did. Suffice to say, I definitely need the next book as soon as possible, and will be keeping an even closer eye out for when it will be released.

I highly recommend reading this book if you were a fan of Heir of Earth. This will blow you away and impress you with the amount of detail and culture woven into the story. This is a surefire hit, and I feel like this series needs more attention. Definitely spread the word if you love this book, because this series could easily become the "next big thing!"

Forced to flee and be separated from Dwayne, Faye retreats to college. Shockingly she finds she is unwittingly a celebrity due to her disappearance and appearance whilst in Ireland.

Faye loves Dwayne and only has a token of his promise of his commitment in a gold band fastened around her wrist. It will stay fastened as long as Dwayne wills it to be so. Faye is determined to find a way for her to free him from being trapped in LisTirna, she turns to her powers and seeks for someone to teach her how to use them. This sends her on a journey to Peru seeking a Death god who has a fierce and gruesome reputation. If he should kill her, it would be preferable than to live life without Dwayne.

A wonderful addition to the series. Once again there is a story of self discovery and adventure. I couldn't help but like the characters as they are well written and believable. I enjoyed the concept and plot immensely.

I'm left wishing, hoping, praying that there will be a book 3 and that it'll be coming out soon.

This book was more interesting and fun then the first one. I read it in just few hours. I had to keep going because the story behind this one was more interesting to me than the first book. And it was more tense. Somewhere in the mean time I was cheering for Faye and Chassan. Still am. :) Don't know why. I guess there is a good and a bad side to both of them. The ending I didn't expect, but liked it. But now I just can't wait for the next book. I just want to know what will happen.
I only had one problem, something that isn't quite clear to me, the part where Faye gets carried to Paititi and wakes up in the room in there, Chapter Twelve Legends, she lights a match, gets carried away thinking and then a match burns her fingers. She clearly yells "ouch". This is what I don't get. How can a simple match burn her fingers if no sort of fire can do her any harm? Can please someone explain it to me?
otherwise, this book is great :) Recommend it

Did not finish. The first book was so great that I was very exited to read the sequel. Unfortunately it seemed that one had nothing to do with the other. Was this book written by the same author? Another example of a book (the first one) that could have been a stand alone (admittedly with a different ending). Why do writers think nowadays that all novels need to become series?
