When Rain takes a job as a cleaner at a five-star hotel, she's got one thing on her finding her missing sister. But as Rain starts digging into the hotel's secrets, she discovers a tangled web of mysteries that threaten to engulf her.
To complicate her mission further, Rain can't seem to keep her eyes off the hotel owner's daughter, Lauren. The attraction between them is undeniable, but Rain knows that getting tangled up in a romance is the last thing she needs right now.
As Rain delves deeper into the hotel's shady past, she realises that someone will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried. With danger lurking around every corner and her heart on the line, Rain must decide how far she's willing to go to uncover the truth about her sister's disappearance.
One thing's for sure, in this hotel, checking out might be harder than checking in!
'Suite Surrender’ is a perfect blend of suspense, romance, and family drama that'll keep you guessing until the very last page.
While Jade Winters has been putting words together since she was a child, it wasn’t until 2010 that she became a serious writer. Today, as a full-time author, she has published four novels in the lesbian fiction genre as well as several short stories. Jade was born and educated in London where she studied journalism for three years at a London University. She is the youngest of 6 children born to a Nigerian father and English mother and blames her love of spicy food on her African heritage. Jade now makes her home in Dorset in the South of England with her partner and furry companions Zorro, Buttons and Zeus.
At the start I couldn't get over disturbing someone reading a book. That's a pretty insurmountable barrier to love!! However as is pretty quickly revealed this is not an insta romance. So many questions raised in the first few chapters. Well it kind of is an insta romance….. well maybe insta romantic blend. The start seemed insta for me, and the husband cartoonishly bad. However, layer upon layer of mystery is unfolding almost with every chapter. I am not a fan of the insta attraction angle, and I don’t quite understand a decision one main made, but I am totally gripped by this layered plot. The reason for the main’s omission is explained in the next chapter and I do buy in to it. Half way through, and everyone is suspect. I’m a bit wary of a new character that seems suspiciously fortuitous. I’m assuming a plot device, but I’m starting to have questions about the mains “other life” about the hotel set up…… I think this is a book that only once I have finished it, will I know if it’s really layered or simplistic. I certainly intend to find out. Unfortunately some of the sentences were to my mind, a bit melodramatic. “They kissed like they were drowning, like they were each other’s air, each other’s salvation.” They might be the insta couple but I certainly wasn’t with them. Therefor the romance part didn’t work. The layers of plot, fortuitous characters appearing turned out to be simplistic rather than fiendish plotting. The sisters involvement…… I am torn about rounding up to 3 because the blend plot, certainly for most of the book held me, but in the end it didn’t answer all the questions. Some of the romance stuff was a bit over the top for me. If you are looking for a mystery that you don’t need to look deeply at, this will do. 2.5, up to 3 for the blend plot.
I have to say up front that at first I thought that too many characters were appearing without any detail and it was causing some confusion as to their part in the story. But I did stick with it and I loved the story. I believe the characters in question will appear in the next two books scheduled. The story revolved around Lauren whose family owns and runs The Mayfair Heritage Hotel and Rain who shares her table with Lauren at the Grind Cafe. The two get to talking and both realize an immediate connection. Rain is late for her appointment so she gives her number to Lauren and takes off to an interview which is at The Mayfair Heritage Hotel. The story takes on a mysterious disappearance, drugs, cheating and severe threats. Stick it out if you get confused. Jade Winters is a master storyteller of mystery!
Wow. Just Wow, Jade Winters! “Suite Surrender” needs to be on your “To Do” list, to become a feature film. The plot, the characters, the drama … and the tangled-ness of it all, just superb! Rain’s goal is to find her sister, Fay, who’s been missing for weeks. Concocting a plan to find Fay by going undercover as a hotel maid at Fay’s former place of employment, Rain stumbles into so much more. So.Much.More! Betrayal, a beautiful woman, bad people, deception, romance, and the seemingly unsolvable mystery of where Fay is and what she was involved with. Lauren, Sydney, Jake, and Oliver - all major players in the drama, and maybe the solution? Rain is a chef - not a hotel chambermaid, nor a detective - but somehow, she must untangle it all, find Fay, and arrive at an HEA. Will she succeed? Read the book today to find out for yourself … then keep your fingers crossed that Jade Winters will turn this fantastic story into a feature film! This is my honest review after receiving an Advance Reviewer Copy.
The first book in a series that drew me in and kept me eagerly turning pages. It begins as a seemingly simple love story, with the classic will-they-won't-they dynamic, but quickly evolves into a thrilling mystery: **Where's Fay?**
The hotel management appears to be hiding something, so who can anyone trust? and the twists and turns will keep you guessing about Fay's disappearance. Who has she gotten tangled up with?
Jade delivers a compelling read without any disappointments. I'm already excited to dive into book two!
This is a somewhat complicated story of mysteries, lies, betrayal and love, and it's all ties together masterfully by the author. Jade Winters has written an exciting, interesting tale. I loved the two main characters! The side characters were also interesting while adding lots to the depth of the story. All that and it's a grand romance. Give it a try.
Jade Winters has crafted a complex story complete with mystery, suspense, and a dash of romance all wrapped in a neat little bow. Winters has a knack for penning stories with vivid details, multi-dimensional characters, and a spicy romance. Suite Surrender is all that and more. It’s a gripping, emotional journey that I had a hard time putting down. Well done!
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Jade Winters has written a well-paced romance with just the right amount of sizzle and suspense. There’s no slow burn here. The sparks between the two protagonists burst into a blaze rather soon after their coffee shop meet cute.
But Winters stokes the plot with plenty of individuals and incidents to keep you guessing and engaged to the very end.
Moving on now. I’m off to check into Suite Heart, Book 2 in The Mayfair Heritage Hotel Series.
This was a very good read. Jade's writing prowess just keeps getting better and better. I found "Suite Surrender" to be a well-thought-out and executed tale of deceit, extortion, and corruption. It also highlighted how essential it is to communicate in any and every type of relationship, especially when it's the hardest thing to do. An all-round entertaining who-done-it.
Winters has a lovely knack for blending mystery and romance filled with twists and turns. Her characters bring out an array of emotions in me, including frustration. I wanted the characters to see what I could see in other characters. This is book one of the series. I’m off to devour the next one. No spoilers. Just a fun read!
The suspense and drama was perfect for this love story. It had me trying to figure out who was the married man and who was the dealer. Very well written. I didn’t put it down until I finished it.
Wow this story blow me away I loved the main characters their depth was on point their journey was gripping keeping you hooked it all unfolded perfectly a must-read congratulations
