I loved this collection of the one-bed trope. It was entertaining to see a group of stories vary widely in character types and premises. My favorites in the anthology are Christmas Pipe Dreams and Mistle Foe. Both have steamy chemistry between their leads and amazing settings.

Christmas Pipe Dreams by Lark Taylor is a highly entertaining story where miscommunication is the key component. This story features a plumber who answers the call for a plumbing emergency and finds his shy barista who he has been crushing on for over a year in desperate need of help. Misunderstandings and steamy moments ensue as a winter storm approaches. This is such an adorable story due to the funny characters, fantastic setting, and lovely Christmas vibe.

My next favorite story is Mistle Foe by Cora Rose. This is a highly entertaining story of opposites attract as the shy, uptight best friend's brother realizes he harbors feelings for the tatted family friend who may also share similar feelings. They are forced to share a hotel room and of course, steamy moments ensue, creating a fantastic dynamic between two very surprised guys who cannot get enough of one another.

Overall this is a highly entertaining anthology that has the perfect balance of heat and characters. I loved all of the stories and wish they were longer.

*** I reviewed a complimentary copy of this story.***

Average rating: 2.67⭐, rounded up because it's for a good cause.

I wish anthologies were available ALL the time. They're great palate cleansers in between other books.

That said, I have a few bones to pick.

It bugs me when authors use anthologies to advertise their own work. Meaning, they leave a story unfinished, then expect you to go to their page and look for the full length novel (I'm looking at you, Kiki Clark). They also cram in every. single. character. from their other books, assuming it’ll all seamlessly fit.

Also, what's up with all the typos? Just because it's a short story doesn't mean you can half-ass it.

Anyway, here's my ratings:

3.5If I Had the Chance, E.M. Lindsey - THERE WAS NO SPICE IN HERE I'M SO CONFUSED. LIKE I'M NOT COMPLAINING BUT IT'S E.M. LINDSEY!! And there's no full length novel for these characters as far as I'm aware. It's a prequel to the beginnings of always series though.

As far as the story itself, I was a bit confused. It felt like I was thrown into the 3rd book in a series. The MC's already know each other at the start of the story.

3.75The Room I Paid for, Crea Reitan - Aww this was really sweet. I like how both MC's acted like mature adults. However, there was too much info about one MC's wife which I found unnecessary and it was too fast paced. They have sex within 24 hours of meeting. Author also projected herself into the book too much. This was one of the longest ones so far.

They also make cum cookies...
I fuck him against the table. We open one of the packages and fuck in cookie dough while the second tray is baking. Yes, we make cookies with the remaining sweaty, cum-dripped batter.

4.75Texas Snow, Kelly Fox - NEW AUTHOR ALERT NEW AUTHOR ALERT. This was hot affff🫦 My only complaint is that they got together too quickly and the way Raff casually killed his boyfriend's cousin was bizarre.

"Did you wash your ass?"
"You could eat a four-course meal off my ass."
"Excellent."

2⭐ Merry Scroogemas, Kiki Clark - Grammar errors, no HEA, lust at first sight (no literally. Ashley crushed on West while he's unconscious after a car accident, talking about how pretty his lips are🤦🏻) The night they meet West touches Ashley's dick (while he's sleeping so it's ok🙄) Sorry but that's not sexy, that's just gross. What if it was an old dude, or a woman?? Ashley has a leg prosthetic, which West never notices/mentions?? That was odd. Author has full length novel coming out in 2025 for them.

2.5Snowdrifts and Secrets, A.M. Johnson - Too insta lusty. They get in a car crash then confess their undying love for each other then exchange hand jobs. That's not usually someone's typical reaction to careening off the side of a hill.

3Christmas Pipe Dreams, Lark Taylor - Cute and short story about a plumber and coffee shop barista. Both MC's were bumbling, awkward fools, constantly shaking like chihuahuas and tripping over themselves. The sex scene was a tad awkward and came out of nowhere.

3Winter Blues, Nicole Dykes - This was cute, if a little unrealistic. They went from hating each other to dating so quickly that it was jarring. Not really a HEA, but I guess that's the theme in most of these books.

0The Holidate Rescue, Dianna Roman - DNF. NOPE. NOPE. GROSS. SO GROSS. MC2(the love interest) kisses his boss's niece on the mouth to thank her for getting him the job. We're also told he kissed the office secretary, then told her he "owed her a baby" for getting him the job. THAT'S NOT CUTE OR FUNNY. THAT'S INAPPROPRIATE AND DISGUSTING. Dianna Roman has a history of writing grossly misogynistic characters. What the actual fuck was she thinking writing this??
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

1.5Mistle Foe, Cora Rose - So much wasted potential. An uptight, Christian named Christian, who's a virgin in all the ways. A tattooed, grumpy dude named Wren. Unfortunately Wren was a bitch to Christian for no reason. Completely unrealistic how Christian has sex without questioning himself, like his religion and his upbringing. Their relationship isn't explained. Why are they sharing a room in a hotel? What is their relationship to the bride? Unsatisfying HEA/HFN. They're together for a month, Christian says "I love you", then Wren is like "uhhh yeah I think maybe I might love you too." Bitch stfu and be an adult.

These stories are so cute and sexy!! Details for a few authors below:
- Cora Rose - this was hilarious and spicy, as usual! I loved how we learned so much about the characters in such a short work, but just enough to love them. I found Wren hilarious and Christian was absolutely adorable. And the forced proximity was *chefs kiss*
- Lark Taylor - this quick read was heartwarming and charming with Rory and Owen’s clear miscommunication for 18 whole months lol. When they finally realize their mistakes in judgment, the spice is phenomenal and their feelings are so pure and cute!
- Nicole Dykes - Simon and Hunter had chemistry that was off the charts and their (one-sided) enemies to lovers arc was adorable. I loved getting to know them and see them embrace their feelings for each other!

OMG y'all THIS ANTHOLOGY IS SO FUN. Snowed In is a series of short stories (by some of my FAVORITE authors) focused on the "snowed in" trope. It's one of my favorite forced proximity situations - are the characters stuck in a cozy cabin? Are they totally isolated with only each other to interact with? Do they need to share body heat to survive? Ooooh yes, so much delicious tension there, and I am HERE FOR IT! And, in addition to 9 wintery tales, y'all all the proceeds go to Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE). Highly recommend checking it out, the perfect read for the holiday season.

Quick reviews of my favorites:

The Room I Paid For (Crea Reitan) - Two guys (a soccer player and a billionaire) book secluded cabins for the holidays and, after a mix-up, get stuck in the same one. They are both lonely after some tough breakups but manage to find what they are looking for in each other. This one is super spicy and fun with very little angst.

Snowdrifts & Secrets (A.M. Johnson) - Nerdy best friends get stuck when their car runs off the road into a snowdrift. One believes he has an unrequited crush - but is it really? I LOVED how sweet this one was (and OMG I've missed Amanda's writing)!

The Holidate Rescue (Dianna Roman) - After getting stuck while working on a secluded under construction house, two coworkers are forced to cuddle together to keep each other warm. One is convinced the other hates him until a series of revelations force him to reconsider. I was so impressed how Dianna had one character who despises the other come around and fall in love (lumberjack dreams!).

Mistletoe Foe (Cora Rose) - Two guys who barely know each other get stuck in a single hotel room (with one bed) on a drive up to a wedding. Despite their differences, they soon realize that they might be more compatible than they think. This one was hilarious, as one character keeps innocently turning the other one on. Signature Cora humor!

(Rating may change, updating this as I read)

If I Had the Chance - EM Lindsey
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
coworker to lover • no steam • blind MC

« right now, he wanted food, the comfort of touch, and to listen to Adam tell him all about the film he didn’t give two shits about watching. »

This was cute, with mutual crush and cuddles by the tv. I love the diversity in disability rep in EM Lindsey’s books, and even if it’s not discussed in details here, it added a Little something to the story.

The room I paid for - Crea Reitan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Slight annoyance to lovers • 🌶️🌶️🌶️ • bi awakening

« That’s where we remain. Locked together. Sometimes touching. Sometimes kissing. Sometimes murmuring memories we want to share, or maybe a painful memory we want to release. »

First time reading anything by Crea and I really wanna read more now. This was sweet and funny and hot at the same time. Yes feelings develop fast, but I loved it!!!

Merry Scroogemas - Kiki Clark
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Age gap • 🌶️🌶️ • only one bed

« Part of my brain is screaming at me that that’s just my libido talking. That this man is so painfully attractive, I would willingly let myself get murdered if it meant getting dicked down first. »

Very sweet and angst free. The author mentions at the end that it will be a full novel in 2025, still can be read as a novella, but yes there’s definitely room for more!

Snowdrift and secrets - AM Johnson
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
BF to lovers • first times • 🌶️

« The world was a white blanket, and we were hidden underneath it, and I could take what I wanted and deal with the consequences later. »

This was a short one but still very sweet. BF to lovers with secret pinning and first times trapped in a car.

Christmas Pipe Dreams - Lark Taylor
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Miscommunication - Mutual crush - 🌶️🌶️🌶️

« I took a steadying breath and arranged my face into what I hoped was a welcoming smile. By which I mean, welcoming him into my house, not into my arse. »

This one was so funny, I loved their reactions and inner thoughts when they both think the other is uninterested. This was so cuuuute, absolutely loved it!

Winter Blues - Nicole Dykes
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Annoyance to lovers • Best friend’s brother • 🌶️🌶️

« Someone was bound to fuck me, and it’s not like you were the first.” I let out a deep growl that surprises me but only seems to light his gleaming eyes up with delight. “I’ll be the last.” »

I found that this one was a little fast on the change from hate to love, it felt more like annoyance to me. It was cute, no angst and a bit fast yes, but overall I had a good time!

The Holidate Rescue - Dianna Roman
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Snuggle to keep warm • fake date • 🌶️🌶️

« You’re freezing to death, Marshall. How can you let a foot belonging to a menace awaken your dick? »

This one was with a single POV and I quite enjoyed that! We get to discover the other MC’s feeling as we read, and even if these two seemed to have a bad start, their story was heartwarming!

**review based on the following stories**

Christmas Pipe Dreams
Tropes: snowed in, only one bed, mutual pining (sort of)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Barista Rory has had a crush on local plumber, Owen, for months. When he arrives home from a shift to find his kitchen flooded, the only person who can help him is the very man who flusters and turns him into a bumbling fool.

When Owen arrives at Rory's apartment to fix his pipes, the last thing he expects is to get snowed in on Christmas Eve with the adorably shy barista—but after months of these two tiptoeing around each other, fate has other plans.

Gah this was too cute! I loved how Rory turned into an absolute mess every time he was around Owen, because honestly same 🤣 Their story was equal amounts sweet and steamy and I loved every minute of it!

Winter Blues by Nicole Dykes
Tropes: snowed in, brother’s best friend, jock x nerd, insta-love (ish)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

As if being forced to ride home with his brother’s annoying best friend, Hunter, for winter break wasn’t bad enough, a blizzard has them taking shelter at Hunter’s family cabin in the middle of nowhere.

As Simon spends more time with Hunter, he realizes that maybe Hunter isn’t so bad, and when learns how Hunter really feels about him, sparks fly.

This was steamy and to the point. Would have liked a bit more from Simon, as Hunter seemed way more into him than he was into Hunter, and he did a completely 180 in no time, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mistle Foe by Cora Rose
Tropes: snowed in, only one bed, virgin, opposites attract
Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Caught in a snow storm on the way to their friend’s wedding, Wren and Christian are forced to ride out the dorm in a run down motel room with only one bed.

Not Christian’s biggest fan, Wren isn’t happy about the predicament they’re in, but one thing leads to another.

Honestly, this was just whatever.

This was the perfect anthology to read before Christmas! I absolutely LOVE the snowed in and forced proximity tropes. Add in some Christmas vibes, spicy spice and HEAs....it was perfect! I got to see more some of my favorites and also read new to me authors who are now on my tbr! Loved it!

The Holidate Rescue by Dianna Roman
What a great one bed/close proximity story! Marshall & Ronnie are coworkers who don't appear to like each other very much. Then they get stuck at a job together because of bad weather and everything changes! The holidate app was fun too. Sounds like someone needs to create this app for real!

Snowdrifts & Secrets by AM Johnson
Gary & Shiloh were best friends. They headed off on a road trip together and ended up colliding with deer on the road. The accident and their closeness led them to admit truth to each other.... This was a great story and I'd love to learn more about these two at some point.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

This anthology is all about being snowed in together and the novellas all occur around the Christmas holiday. What’s better, the proceeds of this anthology are being donated to a really important cause - Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE). I loved each of the novellas in this anthology - seriously - how many amazing authors can fit into one collection?! Here are a few highlights:

❄️ “Mistle Foe” by Cora Rose ❄️

These MCs get snowed in while trying to attend a wedding. Wren dislikes Christian because he wants him so much and is under the impression that Christian doesn’t like him. Christian has an air of innocence around him and Wren has that of a misunderstood bad boy. Christian is a virgin. Wren has never been in a monogamous relationship before. Christian comes from a conservative and religious household. Wren has been overlooked by family and friends. It was really interesting seeing Wren develop feelings for Christian. Christian is so sweet and guileless, I was excited to see some of his sunshine ebb away at Wren’s grumpiness. Things move at a fast clip once the two become entangled, but every moment is captivating.

❄️ Texas Snow” by Kelly Fox ❄️

Rafferty is a cop and Jesse is the one who ends up in jail after he investigates him. Despite a volatile moment in the courtroom and after his sentence is commuted, Jesse ends up at the cabin that Rafferty’s grandparents left to him. Jesse is on the run from his family and finds himself relieved to be in Rafferty’s presence. A snowstorm hits and both MCs get stuck. It’s a toss up if Jesse will cash in on his fantasies of killing Rafferty. Things heat up between the MCs and while they are compatible physically, it is a surprise to both of them how they complement one another emotionally as well. I loved this story of a good cop and a morally gray “bad” guy. Both men make it through an ordeal and find a way to be together. Even though lust comes first between this pair, the “I Love You” they share is pretty sweet too.

❄️ Merry Scroogemas” by Kiki Clark ❄️

West is sent up a mountain by his boss and ends up slamming into a tree trunk after a big brown animal runs out in front of his car. Ashley lives alone in a mountain cabin after being discharged from the Army. He is dealing with PTSD and past trauma. Ashely is not a fan of Christmas, for very valid reasons, but West loves the holiday. Ashely gives West the gift of joy when things take a bad turn for him professionally. This is a really sweet age-gap romance. The MCs are adorable. I can’t wait to see more from them!

Overall 3.4 ⭐️. Some were great, others were not but overall I had a great time reading this antho with a friend!

If I Had the Chance by EM Lindsay
⭐️⭐️.5
This was a cute story that had a ton of potential! I think it could have been good if it was longer and more thought out. And it did skip the sex scene which of as surprising. I did however really enjoy the epilogue!

The Room I Paid For by Crea Reitan
⭐️⭐️
This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author and I don’t think I’ll read anything again. There were very confusing moments during the story and a lot of things I did not like.

Texas Snow by Kelly Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved everything about this short story! Loved the cop/bad guy trope and they had amazing chemistry. It’s not often with a short story you get a nice epilogue and I loved how this one was done. Definitely recommend this story!

Merry Scroogemas by Kiki Clark
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I really love a good grump in a romance and this one was excellent! It was a fun, sweet story and I’m so incredibly excited to hear we will be getting a full-length story about these two! I absolutely will be reading that when it comes out!

Snowdrifts & Secrets by AM Johnson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a nice, short, easy read that had me laughing out loud at parts. It was really good but I would have loved to see more from them but still recommend!

Christmas Pipe Dreams by Lark Taylor
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I absolutely loved the dynamic between the two MCs in this short. If I could find a full-length novel with this dynamic I’d be all over it. Love two MCs who both like the other and think the other doesn’t like them! They were so incredibly sweet and cute. Again I would have liked more from their story but still loved what we got!

Winter Blues by Nicole Dykes
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story was ok, nothing super wrong with it but it didn’t grab me like some of the other stories. The characters were a bit unlikable and it didn’t make total sense to me what happened but overall if you’re looking for a quick read then it might be worth a read.

The Holidate Rescue by Dianna Roman
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This is a single POV story that was cute. I enjoyed it the more it went on but had a hard time getting into it. Once the enemies to lovers part was done I really ended up enjoying the story!

Mistle Foe by Cora Rose
⭐️⭐️
If I hadn’t have just read almost the exact same story earlier in the antho I might have liked this one more. However, it was also just mainly an erotica with very little plot. I realized about half way through the story I didn’t even know how these two knew each other. So wasn’t my fav. But if you love this author and are looking for a story with lots of sex then absolutely recommend.

I am putting this down. I may read the last two short stories at some point but right now I am burnt out from short stories.

Here is my rating / mini review for the rest:

If I Had the Chance - E.M. Lindsey - 3 stars - Coworkers. This was cute. I really liked the blind MC rep. But zero spice.

The Room I Paid For - Crea Reitan - 3.5 stars - Strangers placed in a single cabin rental. Had lots of holiday vibes and the MCs did a lot of activities and had a lot of sex.

Texas Snow - Kelly Fox - 4.5 stars - Cop/criminal he helped put away. This was my favorite here. The chemistry these two had?! That initial sex scene? 🔥 Plus it had a fairly captivating plotline, resolution and “epilogue”.

Merry Scroogemas - Kiki Clark - 1.5 stars - Guy rescued by mountain recluse. I felt nothing. But this is apparently going to be a longer novel in the future.

Snowdrifts & Secrets - A.M. Johnson - 2 stars - Super short. Two best friends snowed in a car after crashing but I kept feeling like they weren’t taking the very real risk of death seriously enough lmao.

Christmas Pipe Dreams - Lark Taylor - 3 stars - A cute little premise of how these two got snowed in. Barista and the plumber who buys a coffee every day just to see him and the busted pipe that brought them together. Decent banter between the MCs.

Winter Blues - Nicole Dykes - 2.5 stars - Okay. Best friends brother is always a good trope and this was cute but didn't wow me.

The Holidate Rescue - Dianna Roman - DNR

Mistle Foe - Cora Rose - DNR

Phew! I made it through (almost) all of these, and loved a LOT of them. I'm averaging it out to a 4-star rating for the anthology as a whole, but I am SORELY tempted to call it a 5-star anthology for Crea Reitan's story alone - a new-to-me author and my absolute FAVORITE in here! 😍😍😍

(But since there were also a couple of duds for me, I just can't go with a full 5-star for the whole thing. I AM totally thrilled that the publisher included actual story synopses before each one, though! 🏆🏆🏆 Seriously, THANK YOU, publisher!)

Here's my quick take on each story, in the order I read them:

👍 CHRISTMAS PIPE DREAMS by Lark Taylor ⭐⭐⭐⭐
4 STARS, by an author I've always enjoyed. I just LOVE the shy, bumbling boy trope, and this one started out by making me very, very happy. 🤣 Once they actually confessed their feelings, which honestly took it down from a potential 5-star read to me to just a solid 4-stars. But despite that, no real complaints. It was a short story so I can let a lot go, and IMHO it was really well done for what it was. Add in a delicious size difference and the catnip of an only-one-bed-trope, and I'd call this a very good start to the anthology!

👎 THE HOLIDATE RESCUE by Dianna Roman ⭐⭐
2 STARS, and I am hard pressed to remember disliking a Christmas story this much in... ever. To be fair, enemies-to-lovers will always be my least favorite trope, but the premise still sounded like it could be really fun and the one other book I've read by this author was a huge win for me, so I jumped in with excitement and... utterly hated it. Probably (definitely) because of how intensely I disliked Marshall, from page 1 right on through to the end. He was just SO fucking unpleasant - whiny, narcissistic, and so self-absorbed it actually made me like Ronny less, because what the fuck did he see in him? (Yes, the author had Ronny give a little speech answering exactly that question, but since it was one hundred percent Ronny yapping - i.e. all tell-not-show, with no actual evidence in the short pages of the story of any of these stellar qualities, and certainly nothing about him that would make for a good romantic partner, my question stands. Rhetorically, but still.)

Anyway, this one was just... blech. Definitely something I would have DNF'd from had it been a full novel, but since this is an anthology of shorts, I kept waiting for it to get better until I was suddenly at the end, so I guess that's on me.

👍 TEXAS SNOW by Kelly Fox ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
4.5 STARS, and such a nice surprise! This is an author who I usually avoid, simply because her style hasn't been my jam in the past. This story just worked in every way though, including being that rare gem that really did feel like a complete, satisfying romance despite the short length. I loved it!

👍 MERRY SCROOGEMAS by Kiki Clark ⭐⭐⭐
3 STARS. Normally, a teaser like this would be an automatic-1-star, no-fucking-thank-you for me, but nnnnnngh. THIS ONE WAS SO GOOD!!! AS-is, I just can't call it anything higher than a 3-star since I truly feel that story snippets and teasers, especially non-disclosed ones, are a crime against anthologies... but I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the full-length novel the author has promised to turn it into in 2025! 😍

👍 THE ROOM I PAID FOR by Crea Reitan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 STARS, but only because I can't give it more, because O... M... G............!!!!!!! MY HEART 😍 This is by FAR my favorite of the anthology, hot and sweet and lovely and just utterly perfect. I adored absolutely everything about this story, and it deserves ALL the stars! 💫

👍 IF I HAD THE CHANCE by E.M. Lindsey ⭐⭐⭐⭐
4 STARS, suuuuuuuper sweet. This one made me smile 🥰

👍 MISTLE FOE by Cora Rose ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 STARS 😍 I don't usually love single-POV romance, but this one hit just right. Emotionally damaged boys are my catnip, and even if the writing was a bit clunky, especially at the beginning, all the right feelings were there and I lovvvvvvved it!

👍 SNOWDRIFTS & SECRETS by A.M. Johnson ⭐⭐⭐⭐
4 STARS. This was very sweet. I considered skipping it based on the blurb since friends-to-lovers is my third-least-favorite trope, but decided to try it anyway since I *thought* it was by an author I've enjoyed before. Nope. I was wrong. They just have similar pen names and this one is new to me. But I'm so glad for that happy accident, because this story was absolutely lovely. I particularly had fun with Gary and the way he teased Shiloh so much (not sexual teasing, but gentle snark... this was actually a pretty low-steam story, and that fit the story length really well IMHO. Wasting word count on actual sex would have overshadowed the sweet romance here, so this was pretty much perfect. 🥰)

-- WINTER BLUES by Nicole Dykes DNF/No rating.
I read the first few chapters of this one and it was... fine? Cute enough, I guess, with them clearing up the misunderstanding of their feelings and Hunter's sexuality, but the minute Simon jumped on Hunter, I started to get bored. I'm in the mood for story. For romance or adorable cuteness or surprising twists, but not so much just another condom lube stretching omg dick in ass best orgasm of my life phew sex scene. Just... yawn. Anyway, I'm sure it's great for those in the mood, but that's not me rn, so I'm going to call this anthology done for me!

Here's my thoughts on some novellas.
EM Lindsey: cute, sweet and angst free. Plus we got to visit a familiar face. Loved it.
Crea Reitan: nice reading, but it felt a bit to rushed.
Kiki Clark: loved it. The perfect prelude to a full length story. Can't wait.
A. M. Johnson: cute and fluffy.
Lark Taylor: Owen and Rory are the cutest. This story is the perfect example of miscommunication. I loved it.

This was such a solid anthology with one of my favorite tropes , "snowed in " . I loved all except a few which happened to be the enemies to lovers set up becuase they felt forced.

-Thank you to my girl Steph for buddy reading this one with me , the short stories worked perfectly for us during the hectic holiday season !

Want a M/M Christmas anthology full of sweet stories to read? Like the "snowed in" trope? Want to help a charity? Get this now! I'll be writing reviews as I read through the stories ❤️. Thanks to Lark Taylor for the ARC!

Christmas Pipe Dreams by Lark Taylor
Written in 1st Person, Dual POV. Devoured the story in 1hr!

Rory is a cute, fabulous barista while Owen's a big, kind plumber (Such a sweetheart! 😍) & Rory's daily customer. There's Crushes, nervousness & "uncomfortable" misunderstandings, oh my! But when Rory's pipes need fixing on Christmas eve & the rare storm snows 'em in (Only 1 bed 😜 too), it's a perfect opportunity to right those 😉.

This was a cute, funny story with pipe jokes 🤣 & a sexy ending. No epilogue but I liked the "I want all the dates with you" too ❤️. Lark packs details about MCs so well even in short stories! Paul gets his daily fix haha 😁. Rory's Landlord should get a demon visit tho 🤨.

If I Had the Chance (A Beginning of Always Short Story) by E.M. Lindsey
Written in 3rd person, Dual POV. Devoured in like 45minutes!

This one has scientists/professor & space lovers which is very cool! Adam is caring, outspoken & socially awkward with a crush on the brilliant, suave Magnus who's also blind. Unbeknownst to Adam, Magnus is also a lil obsessed with him. A work-related visit & snowstorm provide a beautiful backdrop to cozy up & confess finally 😁.

This was a sweet story which got a bit heart-aching at times, but I'm so glad for the 2 ❤️. This is a fade to black on steam, but the epilogue is cute 😍. Lindsey gave quite a complex backstories to the MCs & I wanna hug em 🥺. I'm curious about astronaut Piper!

Snowed In is a MM romance charity anthology with nine novellas about being snowed in together. The participating authors include Kiki Clark, EM Lindsey, Nicole Dykes, Crea Reitan, A.M. Johnson, Dianna Roman, Cora Rose, Kelly Fox, and Lark Taylor! I was excited to see what each author had in store for us. I loved that I got to read stories from some of my favorite authors, but I also got to read stories from new to me authors. For me personally, these stories range from three to five stars. My top five stories are Texas Snow, Snowdrifts & Secrets, Christmas Pipe Dreams, Mistle Foe, and Winter Blues.

Mistle Foe by Cora Rose
Mistle Foe by is a short MM romance story about Wren and Christian. They are traveling together to their friend’s wedding when an unexpected blizzard hits and they need to seek shelter. The motel room they get is pretty crappy and only has one bed, but we get to see how it brings them together. And although Wren might not like Christian, and he thinks Christian doesn’t like him, we learn this isn’t the case. Wren and Christian are complete opposites, and I enjoyed reading their love story.

Winter Blues by Nicole Dykes
Winter Blues by is a short MM romance story about Simon and Hunter. Simon is the nerd and Hunter is the jock. They are away at college and looking to head to Simon’s parent’s house for winter break. When Simon’s older brother Zane, who also happens to be Hunter’s best friend, can’t make the drive to pick him up because of the weather, he convinces Simon and Hunter to make the long drive home together. Unfortunately the weather doesn’t cooperate and in order for them to avoid the icy blizzard, they stop at Hunter’s empty family cabin. Simon can’t stand Hunter and doesn’t like that he teases him, but he soon learns that Hunter was trying to flirt and actually likes him. Things end up getting hot and heavy quickly, and it turns out being snowed in ended up working out for them. I enjoyed reading Simon and Hunter’s story, and the ending left me wanting more.

Christmas Pipe Dreams by Lark Taylor
Christmas Pipe Dreams is a short MM romance story about Rory and Owen. Owen is a local plumber. He is a tall, handsome guy with tattoos. He is also a regular at the cafe Rory works at, stopping in five days a week to order the same thing for the last eighteen months. Rory is a tall man himself, and with a crush on Owen, he seemed to make a fool of himself each time he saw him at the cafe. On Christmas Eve, Rory finds his kitchen flooded and has to call none other than Owen to come fix his pipes. With a snow storm rolling in and Owen’s van not starting, he finds himself having to stay at Rory’s. When the heat isn’t working and there is only one bed, they are forced to cuddle. This brings about a conversation where Rory and Owen both learn there have been some misunderstandings, especially about how they feel about each other. Then things get heated quickly. Rory and Owen’s story was just so cute and sweet, and I really enjoyed reading it.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

Like all anthologies, the stories were hit and miss. Starting with such a weak story was a mistake, but it ended with a bang. Overall, I enjoyed reading this.

If I Had a Chance (E.M. Lindsey) - Two guys taking a casual work friendship to a better friendship. No romance, not even any spicy scenes to make up for the lack of romance or story. 2 ⭐️

The Room I Paid For (Crea Reitan) - Perfect mix of heart and heat, and a perfect storyline for a snowed in anthology. 5 ⭐️

Texas Snow (KellyFox) - The characters didn’t really ring true as an undercover detective and an unhappy member of a criminal family, but if you ignore that, it’s a pretty enjoyable story. 3.5 ⭐️

Merry Scroogemas (Kiki Clark) - One star deducted for mentioning romance novels in a romance story. 🙄 A typical grumpy bear + happy twink Christmas story. Nothing new to offer. 3 ⭐️ (2 if I deduct for the cheesy wink and nudge)

Snowdrifts and Secrets (A.M. Johnson) - Very short and sweet, with just a pinch of spice. The story had a good flow, but it felt like it needed just a bit more of something. 4 ⭐️

Christmas Pipe Dreams (Lark Taylor)- A terrific story with sweet characters. The setup was simple but the emotions were complex. I would love to read more about these two. 4.5 ⭐️

Winter Blues (Nicole Dykes)- One of those stories where there is a lot of sex but few details so you don’t feel any chemistry or connection between the characters. Also, Simon is a self-centered ass and Hunter comes across a bit immature. 2 ⭐️

The Holidate Rescue (Dianna Roman) - A massive amount of body insecurity and some cheese (“whittle me, lumberjack”). It’s a shame because the bones of the storyline were good. 2.5 ⭐️

Mistletoe Foe (Cora Rose) - I am such a sucker for Cora Rose’s cuddly characters. Christian’s wide-eyed inexperience and Wren’s wounded cynicism were a perfect match. The spicy bits are so passionate and the sweet bits are so endearing. I hope the author eventually fleshes this out from a short story to a decent length novella because I would happily spend more time with these two. 5+ ⭐️

Snowed In - A MM Charity Anthology

If I Had The Chance - EM Lindsey ☃️
I loved it so much I went and read 2 other EM Lindsey books from the same world this is set in.

The Room I Paid For - Crea Reitan 🎁
So many exclamation points. Sweet and very spicy, a snowed-in Christmas sex-fest.

Texas Snow - Kelly Fox ❄️
Snowed in with a dash of danger. My first Kelly Fox read but I could easily read more.

Merry Scroogemas - Kiki Clark 🎄
I love a good snowed in with the loner, grumpy, mountain man trope. Really sweet characters, I'm keeping an eye out for their full length novel.

Snowdrifts & Secrets - A.M. Johnson ❄️
Short & sweet, I was more excited it was characters from my favorite novella in my favorite series by her. I hope we get more of them!

Christmas Pipe Dream - Lark Taylor ☃️
Nothing like a holiday in the UK! This might be my first Welsh romance? Cute characters with a silly miscommunication but the magic of snow brings them together.

Winter Blues - Nicole Dykes ❄️
Cute! Brother's best friend, snowed in, oblivious flirting, you know it's gonna be good.

The Holidate Rescue - Dianna Roman 🎄
Not but my favorite but the last chapter was sweet.

Mistletoe Foe - Cora Rose ☃️
Exactly what I would expect from a Cora story, a sassy MC and lots of sexy times.

Read if you like:

• holiday romances
• short & sweet reads

I love anthologies like this. I've read a few since first discovering them a few years ago, and I can never get enough.

Snowed In has the benefit of donating all the proceeds to Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE), so not only do I get to read some fantastic stories, but I know my contribution is going to an amazing cause.

I also get to enjoy a few very fun takes on the same trope - being snowed in over the holidays!! With any anthology, a couple of the stories didn't appeal to me as much as the others did, but they were all very fun regardless! I got to explore the writing styles of a couple new-to-me authors, while also relishing in the works of authors that have become staples on my digital shelves.

I really had a great time with Snowed In, and just in time for the holidays! I can be quite the Grinch this time of year (lots of family drama and trauma have made the holidays rather torturous some years). Being able to find little bits of enjoyment when I can eases the anxiety and the dread. And this anthology wad definitely way more than just a little bit of enjoyment.

"I don't believe in fate, but I do sometimes wonder if the conscious universe gives us gifts."

~If I had the Chance, E.M. Linsey

The SNOWED IN anthology was the perfect cure for when you're not only slumping but don't have the brain capacity for a full-length novel. These short stories were a mixed bag of some I adored while others were on the naughty list (take that anyway you like), but they were quick, sexy and left me feeling that cozy holiday cheer.

My Ratings

1. If I Had a Chance by E.M. Linsey: 4.5⭐️

2. The Room I paid For by Crea Reitan: 1⭐️

3. Texas Snow by Kelly Fox: 3⭐️

4. Merry Scroogemas by Kiki Clark: 3.5⭐️

5. Snowdrifts & Secrets by A.M. Johnson: 3⭐️

6. Christmas Pipe Dreams by Lark Taylor: 4⭐️

7. Winter Blues by Nicole Dykes: 2⭐️

8. The Holidate Rescue by Dianna Roman: 3.5⭐️

9. Mistle Foe by Cora Rose: 2.5⭐️

🎄Special thanks to my good friend Amanda for suggesting this when we couldn't figure out what to read next. I say we do an anthology every holiday season now.

Arc Review
Winter Blues by Nicole Dykes

This review is just for Nicole Dykes’ novella. I do plan on reading the rest.

Simon is waiting for his brother Zane to pick him up from college for winter break. Unfortunately Zane, is snowed in at their parents, but he has a plan. To catch a ride with his best friend Hunter, who Simon has animosity towards.

Hunter is an only child and for Christmas his parents have left him to go on holiday. Hunter is invited to his best friend’s Zane’s house for the break. He is about to drive there, when he is asked to drive Simon as well.

It was going to be a long tedious drive, but on the way back the weather gets the better of them. They get half way and have to stay at Hunter's parents cabin for the night.

This short novella is part of the ‘Snowed In’ charity anthology, and is quite possibly one of the sweetest books I have read.
