Another great installment in the series! Readers are exposed to more of Lucy's magic and her first attempts to control it through a series of spells. My 5 year old and I read this together and found it fun and a great lesson in turning grey days into happier days.
The second book in the Lucy Lancaster series, and this time Lucy and her friends are supposed to visit the museum. When bad weather and the sniffles get in the way, Lucy must learn how to get over her disappointment and find joy in her day. With great lessons about friendship, short chapters and illustrations to break up each section, this is a great book for emerging readers.
Lucy is excited to go to the new science center but that joy turns to disappointment when both Heidi and Bruce have to cancel. Her mood leads to her magic causing a major storm which continues the cycle of disappointment. Her hiccups keep making everything worse. She learns a valuable lesson about her mood and how it affects the world around her - in this case, literally. It's a joy to see a series focused on other characters from Heidi's stories.
This was a super cute story about Lucy going to the science center. Her friends can't go and she's bummed but she makes a new friend and realizes it was even worse for those who had to stay so she should be grateful.
