Stay For A Spell: A Companion Story

Rate this book
A pregnant witch about to pop,

forced to live with three cranky bears…?

The fur is about to fly!

As a powerful Hexen, I thought I could handle any twist of fate. Being hunted? Sure. Complicated pregnancy? Not keen, but that’s life. Living in a refugee camp? “Pfft! Give me a real challenge!”, I said.

Fate listened.

Enter Seaton, the strong and not-really-silent type; Bramwell, the neat freak housekeeper whose charm knows no bounds; and Mokey, the scatterbrained artist with a heart of gold.

These three bear shifters are my new roommates for the foreseeable future.

Amidst the chaos of contractions and close quarters, I'm starting to think of this place – these men – as home. And that’s dangerous.

You see, me giving birth? It's a dicey situation. One that might give our oh-so-cozy little arrangement a permanent end.

But, sometimes, the most unexpected twists of fate lead us straight to where we belong.

Shan Marin grew up on adventure stories, sword and sorcery fantasy, and old-school science fiction. She pursued a career in Journalism to fulfill her desire to write, but it turns out she’s not nearly hard-nosed as she would like to believe. Better to leave that to the characters she loves to write about. After traveling for many years, she finally settled in Canada, where she writes fast-paced, fantasy and paranormal romance novels. She is obsessed with ice-cream, lilac trees, and bad guys who do terrible things for good reasons.

The writing was so well done! And the concept was super creative. A fun spin on Goldilocks and the three bears. I honestly wish it would have been a series because I had so many unanswered questions. I wanted more background on the refuge camp and the MC’s past that was only alluded to! On the MC’s magic and understanding the world the book was set in. We had hints of it with technology but I wanted more to help fill in the story. I am a huge fan of this author’s work, so I always get excited reading the latest novel!

it's a bear shifter book, where only one of the characters shift one time in the whole book. there's a lot of unanswered questions about the storyline that I was left with.
