I thought it was going to be hard saving the shifters with three grumpy wolves at my side, but then fate decided to throw a bear shifter in the mix, and everything went to poop.
My wolves have kept me at arm's length since I became their wife. I expected every man I met to be like that, but Garrick’s a whole different man. The minute he demands to marry me and join our alliance, he’s seemed to barely be able to keep his hands off me.
And if that wasn’t a big enough surprise, my wolves don’t like it one bit.
Suddenly, we’re embarking on a dangerous mission to cure a magical illness with four gigantic shifters fighting all around me. It seems that throwing a doting man into the mix has made my wolves change their minds about what they want from me.
But can I save the shifters and my marriages? Or am I looking for a kind of magic that doesn’t exist?
THEIR FATED MAGIC is a fantasy reverse harem romance with grumpy, jealous shifters, an innocent heroine, an arranged marriage, size difference, and lots of enemies to lovers fun!

I can honestly say I have never been more disappointed in a series finale than I was with this book. It was simply awful and I don’t say that lightly. Lack of romance, no true redemption for anyone, lackluster final battle( honestly lackluster second half of book completely), absolutely unrealistic and unenjoyable spicy scenes (which I never comment on so they had to be pretty bad for me to write about them), unremarkable “who hurt you” reveal…just a complete disappointment. I’m not sure I have ever even said this in a review but I struggle to find one thing I actually liked about this book.
Now for spoilers and rants:
- The guys don’t give a shit about her for 2.5 books until she walks away from them and all of a sudden they realize she is their mate and now they can overlook everything and move past their issues? I can suspend belief like any good reader but this was complete BS. There was no transition time, it went from compete assholes to we love her in moments. Then when they state they are going to grovel forever we get a couple I’m sorry exclamations and then she immediately sleeps with all three! Immediately after they say sorry! Like within moments of them apologizing and her saying they don’t deserve her she has major body betrayal and then afterwards forgives them completely because of the mate bond. That is not groveling! Which leads me to my next rant on the horrific spicy scene with her wolf mates!
- She experiences her first orgasm and then loses her virginity to the bear who is described as crazy huge/monster level. The next day after losing her virginity the wolves take her at once. This is already a lot for the completely innocent, no experience with men or intimacy character that the author wrote our FL as. What makes it so much worse is that in all the ways that scene could have gone down the author chooses to have her take 2 guys in her vag and then another in her ass all at the same time with no anal prep?!? Seriously they all just climb on her and insert themselves. Don’t worry he spits in his hand first so that must be good enough lubrication right? Excuse me? She lost her virginity yesterday! Her first sexual experience Ever and you jump to this?!? You have treated her like shit, see her scars after apologizing and then immediately decide sex is the answer?!? Crazy!!! It was not romantic at all and completely unrealistic. Also they immediately all start discussing impregnating her and keeping her pregnant for the foreseeable future. They continue to plan out her life without any input from her whatsoever and she doesn’t even care. She is a complete doormat to abusive and selfish men. I also hated how mates were approached in this series overall. If the pull to your mate is so weak that you have to sleep together before knowing for sure they are your mate then the system is flawed imo.
-Like many readers I love a good “who did this to you”/“who hurt you” scene. We knew about the FMC’s back that is covered in scars since book 1. The build up for this moment was huge and we got such lackluster reactions. Her bear sees them first, asks what happens and simply tells her she is beautiful and he is sad she was hurt by her mom. That is it. We got about 2-3 sentences to explain what happened to her and then they move on to being intimate. The wolves see it about 2 minutes before they all penetrate her so I guess they didn’t really care about her tragic upbringing. They seemed angry and said they wanted to kill her mom. Then they immediately jumped to sexy time. Why did the author build up this moment for so long with multiple references to her hiding her back from them for such a lackluster reaction? She briefly mentions being punished for not preforming magic well and that she was beaten with a pipe and whipped. That is the full explanation. How anticlimactic.
- How did the witches beat them up the mountain? Is there another entrance onto Shifter property? If so blocking the death passage at the end will do literally nothing in the long run. The have an incredibly lame “battle” where the FMC magically realizes her mom sucks and enjoys hurting her (TSTL moment) and then she is crazy powerful and able to kill the queen and the strongest group of war hardened battle mages without any issue. She then is able to heal her near to death mates and fix the curse without a break. If magic can run out and is finite to a degree how was she able to do all of this at once? With no real training or practice? When she said she was exhausted and depleted after the battle? Surely she would have been too tired to do all of that at once….
-Then we get a happily ever after I guess? With little to no details so we have no clue how she is accepted into shifter society? Huge time jumps which I hate and view as lazy writing. Also with the blacksmith I thought he had a special relationship with the FL because they were surrogate families for each other but apparently he had a wife and kids he was close to so I’m not sure why he would have felt like the FL was a daughter to him. I think it would have been more impactful for him to be alone and for her to be his only “family”. Just my opinion though.
Overall I honestly felt like every single character other than the female lead and the wisp were absolute garbage. Garrick was the most bearable character 😉 though I still didn’t like him and everyone else honestly could burn and I wouldn’t care even a bit. I have never despised every character in a book series before but they were all awful and never redeemed themselves in my eyes. This series started so well in the first book and then fell so far I honestly am still reeling. This was so bad that I might question reading books from this author in the future.
I’m DNFing this book. Drogo is a piece of shit, yet he gets to kiss and fuck on her without a proper apology. This girl has been abused since birth, and she didn’t even get the chance to experience what healthy love is because the 3 wolves are such assholes.
The moment everything is going well with Garrick, those 3 fuck it up, and now she lumping Garrick with the other 3. It’s irritating cause I understand why, but he doesn’t deserve it. Did Garrick fuck up when he chimed into the conversation on who gets to fuck her? Yes. But this has been 1 fuck up that he immediately apologized for and continues to do so while working towards fixing the distrust between them now. The other 3 just yap and yap about the damn illness without ever giving her a proper apology or make up for it.
The 3 princes only give a fuck now because there’s someone else in the picture. They are all shitty princes that don’t have nearly enough leadership skills to run a kingdom; they damn sure don’t got the discernment for it. Drogo gets to throw a hissy fit, and the others back him and never fully stand up against him. Boooo👎🏾 Basura 🤮
I only stand Garrick and Tara together at this point. I can’t continue because Drogo got to kiss her after accusing her AGAIN of betraying them.
It pains me to write a negative review for this book after thoroughly enjoying the first two. However, this was a huge disappointment.
There was NO GROVELING which was the only thing I wanted to see in this book but nope! Drogo continued to be an ass wipe and did not grovel enough. I also did not like Garrick all of a sudden being part of the group, while I appreciated that he apologized to her, I still could not get over how flippant he was about consummating their marriage. First he said he didn’t want to do anything without her consent but in the same breath wants to have sex with her to solidly the bonds “whether she wants to or not.” This book/series should’ve just focused on the three wolves and Penelope and not randomly throw in a bear shift in the final chapters of book 2 it was hard for me to connect with him and enjoy their “romance”
I really loved the first two books and it’s a shame that the execution was terrible.
I really liked the world building in this series and would probably read more from this universe. The reason I gave it 3 stars is that the 3rd book felt rushed. The "makeup" portion was really short, and it just didn't feel natural and healthy for the fmc to be so willing to be intimate with these guys who had not demonstrated any sort of care for her emotional health. Probably why the fated mates trope is not always my fave. Also, her first xxx scene with the wolves made me cringe because it sounded extremely uncomfortable, especially considering she was inexperienced and had to have been sore.
Side note, I also noted a few inconsistencies, which are minor but still stuck in my brain. The fmc acted in the 3rd book like she was learning about mates for the first time in this book when I remember the cousin explaining it to her in the first book. Also, sometimes the sleeping arrangements would get all shuffled up, where, when they woke up, people were described in different spots. Like I said, minor things, but they can disrupt the flow and pull you out of the immersive experience. Kind of like a scratched record.
There aren't many series out there that make me count the days until the next book will end up on my Kindle, but the Kingdom of Shifters and Witches absolutely made it to the list. I adore this series; I feel so much and so deeply while reading Tara's story I can't help but love every moment of it.
I have to admit I was expecting this series to become a four book series, because her three wolf shifter mates had some serious groveling to do, and I couldn't imagine this being resolved in one final book. I'm not sure what made the author choose to wrap up the storyline in "Their Fated Magic" but I'm having some mixed feelings about it. I still truly enjoyed this book, but I'm not sure I'm entirely okay with the relationship building. On the other hand, it does fit her personality in a way. Some people might call her a doormat, but I think she's just a woman with a big heart and the power to forgive.
Still, I wouldn't have minded some extra groveling. Perhaps we need to see them again in the future as side characters, with them still working hard to make things up to her... That being said; I did enjoy the ending of this book, and of the entire series. I'll just imagine a huge amount of ways these men are still making up to her years later...
It’s been one heck of a journey for Tara! I have to say, through thick and thin this witch keeps her head held high. And Drogo, Rinan and Arlys definitely put her *through it*. Garrick is an absolute godsend and I’m so happy that he was introduced and is also showing the wolves every single way that they have been messing up. True to herself, Tara won’t stop until she figures out this curse and she will not be used to hurt others. I love the developments that she has personally and with her magic as this book wears on. Great HEA and steam!
Their Fated Magic is book three in the Kingdom of Shifters and Witches trilogy. The books need to be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
Our plucky heroine was thrown quite a loop at the end of book two when a new mate joined her (arranged) marriage to solidify a peace accord. This book is full of many more surprises for Tara and her guys.
Garrick, the bear shifter prince, becomes a welcome edition (for Tara and the reader) to the pack. He’s completely enamored with his ‘little mate’ and it’s great to see her finally getting some love.
The wolf shifters continue to put their paws in my mouth when it comes to their bride. They want her, badly, but are hung up by previous promises and prejudices. Unfortunately for them, they realize just how precious Tara really is to their union just a bit late.
Can the guys and Tara work together long enough to save both the wolf and bear shifters from the witches’ magic? Will they be in time?
Well. I'm glad we added the 4th mate because I still had almost zero reason for connection with the others. The one thing I'll say about this book was that it hurt to read. The 3 wolves continue to hurt her so much in this book that you feel second hand hurt for her. :/
Honestly this book is where the mates topic becomes complicated. They weren't kind, barely acknowledged her, tried to use her for their own purposes and the drop her. And then one conversation later with barely an apology and she just forgives it all because she has too. I'm not sure that's how this should've gone. They didn't have a real connection or a genuine care for each other this was simply feeling connected because they are mates.
Overall, I'm glad the series is done. It had some interesting plot lines but I wanted more on almost every front. Relationship, personal development, and plot. This series is a good bare bones for an outline but it definitely could've been flushed out.
My last review of the second book in the series was a 3 star as well. My main issue was the 3 OG MMCs treatment of our FMC…and our heroines lack of self. She was a mat, forgiveness for the cruelest of behaviors made me nauseous to read. I said the author has to pull out all the stops to convince me of this love story this book. Well. They. Did. Not. Up until 68% of the book, the MMCs STILL were cruel. 2 and 2/3s of a 3 book series and we still have no movement on the loving romance? So painful to read. The FMC finally grew a backbone and I was thinking, “how can this be resolved in the short remainder of the book?”. Don’t worry guys! Somehow, everyone realized their mistakes, forgiveness was requested, bond sealed via the horizontal tango and everyone spoke of groveling (which we never see), and accepted this new scenario all by 77% of the book! Record time. It felt false, fragile, and flimsy. I didn’t believe the change of heart, the 180% because of “fate” and then everyone being like, “glad to see you aren’t cruel anymore and you apologized once!” I still have a sense of disbelief and strong dislike for 3 of the 4 MMCs and that right there doesn’t feel like a HEA, even if the plot lead us there.
I read books one & two; I knew they were mediocre. I kept reading because I thought the series would get better, but honestly it didn’t. FMC has trauma/abuse history that makes her an aware, willing doormat. The idiot trio don’t treat her any better until a “pivotal’ moment & then all is forgiven. 🙄 I love a good fated mates/instalove story, but this fell way short. It’s YA mentality throughout, but then we go from virgin to DP in the V in a day?! All this, you wouldn’t think a COLD hot spring would be the final straw but it was 🤣

I liked this series, but this instalment seemed rushed. It was strange for the wolves to change their opinion of Tara so abruptly - especially Drogo. The last seventy percent of the book could have been fleshed out more.
Seriously WTF they did nothing to deserve forgiveness. Lot of talk of “I don’t forgive you” and yet no actions to back it up. If you want a redemption arc this isn’t the series. If you are for insta-forgiveness because “mates” the books are well written, the plot is good, fun characters.
Sooooo, I am Kind of disappointed.... there wasnt nearly enough groveling from the boys? And the spicy scenes??? Absurd... dont get me wrong, I love a good smutty book but this was sooooooo random and just not believable... I am Kind of sad about it because I liked the first two books, so the whole series would be 4/5 ☆ still... but I guess I wont reread it ...
2 stars It’s just dragging on at this point. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. I really felt this while reading. Not to mention, I don’t even like any of the characters.
I was really looking forward to the conclusion of this trilogy and I am just upset. Drogo is awful and abusive. He pushes himself on the really innocent Fmc because he is annoyed over nothing. It was just upsetting. It felt really rapey and I’m not finishing this. I’m done with this writer.
i hate the wolves, literally the only redeemable character is Garrick and even he pissed me off sometimes. The only reason i'm giving this one star is because i kind of like Tara.
I hate that i have to say this, but i don't know what else to compare the writing and plot to. It feels like it was written by AI. I'm so sorry, but let me explain. The characters would sometimes randomly forget something they had established not two chapters before (i.e. Drogo being confused when Garrick asked him if he was ready to grovel when two chapters prior he had literally said he would "grovel like no man had groveled before" like ????). Also, the decisions the characters took felt very stunted and not revised (kind of like the inner monologue said "i want to do this because of this", then they would turn to another character and say the same thing out loud). And, the writing in general felt very juvenile and almost as if the author wrote every chapter months apart from the previous one, like things would just happen without any real explanation as to how or why (i.e. the wolves suddenly realizing they've been dicks to Tara and suddenly deciding that holy shit dude we actually love her 😧😧😧, as if they hadn't spent the whole two previous books hating her, both in their inner and outer monologues.)
Overall, in my opinion this was a bad book with poor writing and editing and lackluster resolution for the conflicts it presented. I literally only finished it because of my own curiosity and because it was really short.
WTF did I just read? How could Tara go from having sex twice to suddenly having sex with all three at once? I skimmed through that sex scene because it just made me want to throw up. It was pathetic how quickly Tara forgave them.
The only reason this is two stars is because of Garrick. I did not find anything redeeming about the other three guys. They didn't deserve her and Tara was an idiot for forgiving them. Drogo was definitely the worst and I skimmed any chapter from his point of view. Rinan was spineless and I didn't care about Arlys.
I'm glad Tara didn't keep the message from her mom a secret for long. That is an annoying trope. I did skim through the last 25% because I was so mad but wanted to see how it ended.

1.5 stars. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the first two books. I loved that she was so forgiving in the other books, but in this one it made me annoyed. There was zero real grovelling, and it went from 0 to 100 in the bedroom department. I don't mind smut, but it needs to make sense both emotionally and physically, and it certainly didn't in either. I have no idea why she keeps saying that she likes them, the only relationship I liked was between her and Garrett. This is one of the first RH's where I wish she wouldn't have ended up with all of them. A bit disappointing honestly.
I wasn't planning to make a review, but here it goes:
The first 50% was okay. It was as good as the first 2 books, so I was happy with that. But from the scene on the cavern to the end it was a no for me.
The whole development and conclusion felt rushed. I liked Garrick and I was fine with the other guys, but Drogo was insufferable. I would've forgotten it if the rest of the book was satisfying, but it wasn't. Specially with the fact that he's main reason for "hating" her was his brothers, and then he's just fine just because she's his mate??? With no thoughts, whatsoever. Just the fact that now they found out they were mated, he was suddenly fine with who she was and what she was, as if it wasn't a big conflict before. This could be solved if it wasn't on his POV, because, then, it would've, probably, been more sensible.
Also, the fact that his whole personality is based on his grief, but in no moment his brothers' name is mentioned? I have no recollection, and I've read this whole trilogy today, but I might be wrong.
But, again with the plot: the plot was her being a bad witch and having to find some cure. To that, I have some points.
1. In no moment is explained why her magic doesn't work when she's at the Witch's Kingdom. Yes, it was explained as having relation to her emotions, but I find it hard to believe that someone so powerful could have her power challenged so easily.
2. The plot is the illness that torments the Shifters, but she says multiple times that no illness can be cured so easily with magic. And then the plot is solved with healing water?
3. The witches were plotting against the shifters, but what was their plan? How were they so deep in the Shifters Kingdom? It felt cheap that they were simply there just waiting for them.
There are other points I would like to make, but I just feel a bit tired.
I liked how this trilogy started out, and I also enjoyed the length of them, but some things could've been explained and they weren't just for an extra smut scene. The book was 210 pages long. It could've been a bit longer to answer some of the questions without it being more than 250. The book also felt repetitive with a few reflection that were made previously and considered once more when they didn't need to be. Something that would've also been good to me, as a reader, was seeing their dynamic actually playing out. How are they together? Do they take her on dates? Are their relationship more sexual or is there another element to it? Because the only thing that was good in their relationship was Garrick and sex. Literally nothing in between.
And another thing that took points from this was the cringe increasing towards the end. I felt like I was watching Disney Channel when Garrick said "You're amazing, Tara! You saved everyone today with your magic". Worse than this would be if one of them said that they wouldn't be anything without her.
Oh, and even better that the author made Tara have more physical contact with Drogo (outside of Garrick) instead of with the others. Considering he was the worst. It was clear that, to make the relationship more excusable, the author used touch. Better even was him saying "I've never been more grateful to magic". Really, so good. I'm swooned at how he gave up all his beliefs as soon as he realized Tara was his mate.
As I said, I enjoyed the beginning. I was really rooting for Tara and expecting everything would be better for her and her mates' dynamic, but this crushed my barely there expectations.
First, I want to say that I was seriously annoyed with how quickly Tara got over things. I mean, she did nothing to make those guys grovel after how horrible they were to her. I really don't like when women can't seem to control their libido and it takes over all reason. Men have that problem. Most women aren't run by theirs, so it's unrealistic. I don't care how good looking a guy is... if they treat me like crap, I'm not going to be like, "Oh, you're so good looking. Let me hop in bed with you." It's absolutely ridiculous!
The ending was meh and anticlimactic at the same time. It was very rushed. How did the witches make it onto bear territory? How did they know Tara would go there? Tara's mom told her to let them know when the shifters were too sick to fight, but somehow knows she needs to go to the "curse" spot at the right moment even though she's never heard from Tara? And that final battle scene just irked me. Tara once again acts like she's incapable of doing anything. The whole "poor me" routine was just overdone. She finally grows a pair and responds, but it was so quick that you just question why Tara waited.
We never find out why her mother was so awful to her. We find out that the witches don't want Tara as their queen since she's married to shifters, but we never find out why not when it was supposedly an "honor" to be a peace bride. She was forced to marry shifters. So why won't the witches take her back? Tara is also powerful now, so why not go and change things because she WAS queen whether they liked it or not.
The series wasn't all bad. It had its interesting parts. I think I'm just bummed because Tara is just another woman who thinks her value is in being "loved" by a man\men. She was weak. She allowed herself to be treated badly over and over again and did absolutely nothing. Laughing and sarcasm don't count as defensive maneuvers in my book...at least not only using that method of defense. Her wolves were irredeemable in my opinion. The only reason she thinks she "loves" them when they're so awful, is because she's attracted to them. She's so weak. Only her bear had any value and didn't mistreat her. The series is a quick, easy read. I won't tell you not to read it, but be prepared for some disappointment.
I have been waiting for this book release since finishing book 2.
We left Tara after adding another husband to her collection, but also finding out about the guys plans surrounding their marriage. I absolutely loved it when Garrick joined the story, he was just what the other 3 needed to show them what idiots they had been.
So I have had mixed feelings about Tara throughout the series, she is a complex character because of her background and how she grew up. She is a naive people pleaser but will now sometimes stand up for herself and I have loved her innocent outlook on life whilst she experiences things she has missed out on - so many innuendos! I think in this book she comes into her own, with her magic becoming stronger she's gaining confidence every day.
Tara and her husbands set off to find the source of the sickness, and it was a great chance for them all to get to know each other and build bonds. The final battle to remove the sickness was a great way for Tara to confront her mother and her old coven, she needed to see she was strong and that her magic worked. I've really enjoyed the journey Tara has been on and the world she lives in.
After the icicle slow burn of books 1 and 2, book 3 tried to make up for it, but for me, it was just way, way too much and way too quick after nothing for so long. To go from virgin to 3 guys at once just felt like it was added so she could sleep with all of them without taking too many chapters. Her time with Garrick was so much more romantic and felt more fitting to the story.
My biggest problem with book 3, and why I think it should have been longer or even a book 4 is how quickly Tara forgave the 3 princes. They just said sorry and all was forgiven and I was disappointed in Tara for this, she deserved so much more respect, grovelling and romancing before I thought she should have ever considered forgiving the guys - she went from being bullied to forgiving them to a threesome in a couple of chapters it was just way too rushed considering how slow the first two books were.
- PNR - shifters (bears and wolves) - virgin fmc - slow burn RH - completed series
Usually I love everything this author writes, and up until this book I genuinely liked the series. I didn’t like how Tara was treated by just about anyone in any of the books. Garrick I think, was the only exception. He messed up, but his mistake was one I understood how he made it, and he tried to fix it immediately and felt genuinely bad. However part of me thought that it was all going to be redeemed in this last book and there would be this huge show of sorry and actually fixing it, and earning Tara’s trust back, plus proving they were worthy of her. It was spoken of, but then everything just kind of seemed rushed to conclusion. We didn’t see much of any of that, and they immediately seemed to be forgiven after some pretty hardcore scenes considering the naïvety of the FMC in the other books. Plus how nervous she was about it in every step leading up to any kind of steam. I genuinely wanted to like the princes, and there was one I did kind of like, but he seemed to always default to what Drogo thought should be done, and didn’t do much standing up to him, even when they thought he was in the wrong. Aside from Drogo, who stood out for all the wrong reasons, Rinan and Arlys were so similar throughout the book I had trouble keeping track of who exactly they were. There was one scene in particular that was just essentially completely disregarded by all characters, and that was the one where Garrick reveals something he overheard from the princes, that makes him protective. Even when the reality of that situation came to light, I still think it was worth a lot more conversation and thought than it was given by the characters. All in all, I actually liked the series, as a whole. But it didn’t quite finish as strongly as it should have, given the situations in the books. There should’ve been a lot more groveling and grandiose apologizing.
Unlike the first two books which despite their inconsistencies were good reads, the third book was rather disappointing in my opinion. Everything from start to end of the book seemed forced, and it felt like the author was rushing to end the story rather than finishing the already half assed plot into any proper ending.
Prince A and R became nothing more than side characters in my opinion. And to be honest, all four relationships seemed to be toxic if you disregard the mate bond. Nothing is to be sed about the wolf princes, who were jerks, jerks and suddenly Tara is like oh we are mates I forgive you lets fuck. I wouldn't mind if they groveled for this whole book and earned their forgiveness, but no she hears a single speech and she is like okay everything is okay. It is not like there was even much interaction between them for them for her to fall in love. Let's take Droggo as an example, what did he even do to earn her affection? Hold her once through a nightmare and be continuously an asshole? Is she a masochist?
Even with the bear prince, what was she thinking of running off with a guy she barely knew for two days. When I read the paragraph I was waiting for him to turn into the hidden villain and kill her after sex or something. But then suddenly there is a matebond, and happily ever after.
And finally what was her mother doing by the waterfall? Has she nothing better to do than going camping in enemy territory? I feel like regret and grovelling could have been properly done in this book and a final battle with her mother could have been written into another book. I find the final solution of steel wired especially dumb. It's not like nobody can climb a mountain, where the witches should be simply able to fly with their magic.
What a great series!!😍😍😍 I loved that each book was kind of short, so it kind of broke up the story just a little, but not too much, and that the sexy times were delayed to the last book( because they were a little much, lol😂). I really loved the FMC, she was great! I love a good underdog heroine, as long as she's not whiney, helpless, or depressed, and this one was not! She had a good attitude through all the rotton crap she'd been dealt and she didn't hold a grudge! She just worked around the problems and was forgiving when it was deserved and just DONE when it was appropriate! I really loved her! I still think she should have made the wolves wait awhile and prove themselves, lol, but we were close to the end, so i understand😂😍 I LOVED The bear, he was great! I wasn't too keen on the wolves, especially Drogo, he was just such an a$$, but he was genuinely believable when he finally let go of the hatred and realized what he was doing, so I guess he can stay, lol🤣 The only think I found odd about this series was the setting- it wasn't explained till the last book, with the map, that this was a completely made up world, so I found the modern language and ideas mixed with the archaic setting really awkward at times, until I saw that map. Maybe it was there in the first book and I didn't see it, IDK. Books that mix modern language( like their boxer shorts, and the modern curse words) and things like modern plumbing into worlds that have no electricity and they ride horses, always feel odd to me- I'm not used to it. But I really loved this story and honestly kinda sad it's over!🥰 I will be looking for something else by this author, and hope it's as good!🩷
