A readable, larger font, open format with pictures that is easy to follow and points out interesting things to see, bizarrely you then have to do some detecting, or have some knowledge of NYC to work where the thing they are talking about is located. For example they list bookshops to visit in Brooklyn ie Cafe con libros but you have to look at every localised map for Brooklyn to realise its in Crown Heights. They also don't enclose a subway map, even on the pull out paper map, another strange omission. There is a useful chapter on trips out of the city though.
