Can two people so firmly against love and marriage ever truly give in?

Laird Alexander Ross’ burden is heavy. His clan’s people are being attacked and killed by a band of assassins. When stories of a fearless stranger saving people from assaults spread, he is grateful, yet humiliated that someone else is doing what he cannot.

Nala Maclaren returns to Skye with plans to prove to her parents that she does not require a husband. When she comes upon a group of men attacking a lone traveler, she doesn’t hesitate to help. Afterall, honing her archery and sword skills is what kept her busy for the past several years.

From the moment Alexander and Nala happen upon one another, neither is willing to accept that what had been embers of young love, in their youth, has grown to a full-blown inferno of passion and desire.

What will happen when Alexander realizes who the true hero of his people is?

Kismet, Blackguards, Captivating Romance:
Clan Ross is burdened with terrible villains and is now in a blade flying situation that he's hoping he can handle. Unbeknownst to Alex he is about to receives help from an unknown stranger or so he thought when a beautiful woman with a long bow stood before him, and she seems to look familiar.
Both Alex and Nala refresh their childhoods and reacquaint themselves only for their friendship to grow into a full boomingly
emotional romance story that fills the pages with passionate desire, doubts, jealousy family, friends, that will lead the reader to a very enjoyable yet profoundly gripping conclusion and a HEA.
This is an enjoyable first book of a new series that I certainly enjoyed reading and look forward to more of the series.

Friends to lovers.

Alexander, Laird Ross is trying to find out who is behind the attacks on his people with no luck. That is until a mysterious archer starts to help him. Sorcha is an old family friend and a beauty. When Sorcha and Alexander meet again for the first time in 10 years, there is definitely an attraction. But other things get in the way of their developing relationship. Attackers, class difference, misunderstandings, jealously, manipulation, etc. I’m glad Alex finally has his story. It was a good one.

I was excited for this book but ultimately found it disappointing. There didn't seem to be any real conflict other than Alex and Nala being stubborn, Nala more so than Alex, which was kind of annoying. For all she claimed to be independent and strong she refused to be upfront about what she wanted. And any other conflict seemed to be minor. The attacks were quickly resolved, the relationship with Clan Grant quickly resolved, and Leah also quickly just resolved. Would have preferred if there was one real conflict that was fully developed.

One of the best series that I have read in a long time!

Laird Alexander has so much to take care of but meeting a lass that he cannot keep off his mind is wild. Hildie McQueen has written a story that is absolutely in line with her series Clan Ross of Skye. Reading book 3 of her series has me yearning for book 4, "The Falcon".

Alexander & Nala. Meh. It was an ok palette cleanser but this series has been following this band of men that have been randomly attacking Clan Ross. Them capturing them and executing them was very anti-climatic. In addition we get introduced to a nearby Clan Grant and we have this whole set up like something nefarious is going to happen but then nothing. So meh.

I had a hard time finishing this one for some reason. I love the series, but was a little disappointed in this one, but that could have been just me, preoccupied with the election and aftermath. I’ll give it a try again before the year is out. It’s okay, just didn’t keep me hanging on the edge of my chair. The stubbornness of the main characters kinda got on my nerves. 😬 Great series tho.

Mama has met her match!

This hot and steamy Scottish historical romance novel is delicious! Ok, so the reader can guess who is going go end up with whom but, yum! The telling of the tale is satisfying.

Great continuation story!

A good continuation story. I liked both characters but would have loved a little more action and mystery from the heroine to make a stronger story.

shallow

I kept waiting for this book to get better but it never did. I knew exactly what was going to happen before it happened. A waste of time.
