I am a huge fan of the EXIT games and have always had a fun time with the logic puzzles. I was shocked to see that they had expanded out to books as well. For those of you that are not familiar with EXIT, these are "escape rooms" that are full of logic puzzles where you must solve one in order to move on to the next one thereby making your way through the "escape room". What makes these unique is that they are consumable. As you make your way through the escape room you will be destroying it (i.e. cutting, folding, writing on, etc.) so each one is good a one-time playthrough.

The books follow the same suit. You are dropped into a story and must solve each logic puzzle in order to proceed to the next chapter. The story itself feels pasted on but let's be real, you're not reading this book for the story. What you're here for are the puzzles and these do not disappoint. There were some puzzles that were extremely easy to solve, but there are a few that had me scratching my head for a bit until the answer finally came to me. There were really only 2 puzzles that were written in a way that I wouldn't have figured out if I didn't get help from the clues. You definitely have to think outside of the box on some of these.

I thought this was a lot of fun and it gave me something to look forward to each day. I would recommend these books to anyone that enjoys logic puzzles. I'm looking forward to reading/working on more in this series.

The story could be better, but you don't read this book for the story. There was one of the enigmas that, even after looking at the solution, didn't make sense (the words/printing didn't aligned correctly). Regardless, it was a fun adventure and an original advent calendar idea. I recommend it if you are into these kind of games.

Good in concept but definitely an eight year old would need help doing many of these puzzles. Some of the clues are not helpful too as they would lead you to the same spot you could get without them. I liked a lot of their logic puzzles and would give them a 4 but too many of their crafty ones are just not good enough. But a solid attempt at this puzzle style in a book format.

I read this with my child. It was so much fun! The puzzles are pretty tricky. We had to use a lot of hints, but the way the hints were done was pretty fun too.
The story is nothing special, but the puzzles and the whole premise are so clever and unique. I’ve never read a book quite like this one. 100% recommend. We will be buying another Exit book soon

I'm new at these kinds of books. This was a 3 out of 5 for how easy/hard it was. I think i did pretty good. Some of the riddles were confusing. The storyline was good, and adventure was fun!

I had fun with this and same clever puzzling style from EXIT as usual and fun way to destress during holiday work season too!
