I loved this story of Rafael, the damaged president of the Devil’s Mayhem motorcycle club, so caring of his people but always feeling a failure, unworthy of love, due to his childhood and teen years, and Omari, a caring gentle soul but one who feels he isn’t worthy of a long term love because of his weight.
When Rafael finds himself with custody of his estranged sister’s six month old son, he quickly finds himself out of his depth, in desperate need of a nanny. Enter Omari, the one that will change his life forever. Their path to love isn’t easy or safe, but Omari can give Rafael what he needs, unquestioning acceptance and love.
This is a story of a morally grey man, one who does what he must to protect those he loves and cares for, at all costs, learning to lean on, and love, a man — even though he’s never looked at a man before. Surprisingly, Rafael takes that in stride, having more of a problem believing he is worthy of love. What Omari and Little Raf bring to him is life-changing, leading to the best man he can be.
There is love and hate, violence and healing, renewal and revenge, laughter, and tears — both the good kind and the grieving kind, as Omari helps bring out the man Rafe is meant to be.
Wonderful characters all around, great world building with the motorcycle club and the trust and loyalty between the members, steamy times as Rafe and Omari explore this new thing between them, and an adorable baby to cement them all together. An exciting and satisfying read, one which held my interest the whole time, immersed in the developing relationship and the changing dynamic between the two main characters. Looking forward to the next book from this amazing, emotional author. If you like motorcycle club reads, I would recommend this one for sure.
