Ok, I let it go when Jihadis were mentioned and the "Army were butting in in another country" as if they had the right to
But to mention H*mas and portray them as "scary" was too far
Why would an American from Norwegian descend be facing Hmas??? Hmmmm
Why did the author felt the need to mention that at this time???

And you say books are not political????
Well, then
It's very simple
Keep your westerner ideology, tropes and Greed out of our business and you won't have to face "scary Hamas"

I will probably not do a full review.

I did not like this book at all, but I did try. I was open-minded and was actually excited when I heard this book was going to be released. But it had all the tired tropes we are tired of reading.

H nicknamed h skizzy after skid row. How romantic. Yes, it's a woman's dream to be called after one of the largest homeless population in the world and largely abandoned from any type of help from officials. The h was also a runaway foster child when her parents died, so how nice to be remembered in that same vain.

He pretended to cheat on her so that she can go to Stanford for med school and he won't drag her down. But she actually ended up attending the other school in town (Las Vegas) because it gave her a full scholarship. If he had talked to her, he would have known. She was in town the whole 10 years they were separated, yet not once did they accidentally saw each other or any of their friends did.

He was a total complete manwhore the whole time they were separated, yet he said he thought of her every day.

Of course, she only had mediocre sex and the last time she had sex was 3 years ago. I am so tired of this tired trope.

She also had body betrayal syndrome.

When he saw her again, he was openly having sex with a club girl, the one he's preferred for 2 years, in front of everyone and the h: "kissing her, fingering her, touching her, letting her touch him, suck his cock—right out in the open. It had been a kick in the face, a punch in the gut, and a stab to the chest each time."
His reasoning was weak af. He said he was still trying to push her away and also seeing her jealous, made him feel good. She said, it wasn't as much jealousy, as it was pain.

He apologized to the club girl for leading her on (which was true) and not to the h, which the h angrily pointed out.

The scene before he found out he has a daughter and the h is attacked, he wanted his prez to drop him off at the strip club. The h was working for the club for 2 years already as an on call doctor at the start of the book. During this whole time, he flaunted women after women in front of her and even openly have sex with them in front of her.

Don't get me started on the whole jihadists and hamas that is somehow mentioned in this book. If you're going to add this as part of the H's past as an American soldier, please be accurate. The Hamas thing was so out of left field, like what. Americans soldiers have never fought hamas in any war or conflict, if the US admitted to fighting it currently now with THAT country, with boots on the ground, it is considered a violation of international law. If you bring out this topic, the least you can do is be accurate.

Overall, the H did not deserve a redemption.

1. It was pretty obvious, right from the start, that the whole thing with Trouble and Bonnie was a setup to push Liz away “for her own good”. 🙄
2. If Trouble knew that being with him would hold Liz back and that he couldn’t give her “the life she deserved”, why did he get involved with her and stay with her for over a year?
3. If Trouble knew that he was responsible for how much Liz hated him, and he “regretted it every f*cking day”, why did he deliberately try to hurt her all the time? Why did he continually rub the club wh0res in her face and even go so far as to have $ex with them right in front of her?
4. Five minutes after Liz woke up from a two day coma, Trouble was demanding to have a discussion about Erika???
5. Needed editing. Lots of spelling mistakes and missing words.
6. As usual, Trouble was SO broken hearted by losing Liz that he went out and f*cked every woman that crossed his path.
7. Why was Trouble so furiously angry at Liz for keeping his daughter from him after the things that he deliberately said about what he would do if she got pregnant?
8. I hate manufactured conflicts. With all the money that the MC had at their disposal, they could have easily been able to afford accommodations and a nurse for Liz. She didn't have to stay with Trouble.
9. Yeah, when Trouble said, “Are you going to stop being a b!tch long enough for me to say something, or are we going to spend the rest of our lives with you giving me bull$hit every time I enter a room?”, I was done with this POS book.

I like this author writing style as I get caught up in the angst etc but this book I wanted to throw away along with the hero.

warning … the below review is a hot mess / all over the place

In short
He and she meet , have a great 13 month relationship
She gets a couple of scholarship to med school one to a fancy school (interstate) and one local
He breaks up with her by “cheating” on her and makes sure she’s “catches” them (it’s all sounds effects but she doesn’t know it’s all an act) bc he doesn’t want her to give up fancy school and stay and live a mediocre life with him
She was going to see him to tell him about the baby but bc of the above she’s leaves and cuts him off but never leaves the state. She ends up going to the local school( IN OTHER WORDS HIS DUMB PLAN WAS ALL FOR NOTHING) , she raises her baby and ends up working for the MC as the local doctor on call 8 years later. She ends up seeing him around at the club ex with his peferred club-wh*** over the span of 2 years where trauma makes him gets his doodle sucked in front of heroine to keep him away from her ( in this time she doesn’t tell him about the daughter bc he said some terrible things that he’d get her to have an abortion)
At the 10 year mark She gets attacked by bravta people who are looking for her business partner who stole money from them and her daughter calls the MC president Odin for help. Trouble goes with Odin and this is Where he figures out he has a daughter.

Anyway…they move her into his place with his daughter to protect them blah blah

The story could have been good but it spends so much time using his trauma over and over again explaining why he used OW and broke up with heroine and then she’s no better bc she’s forever reverting to how she misses him and her lady parts are throbbing and wet 🤢😂 - does the rest of your brain think if anything else like the STD he could have ?
this kind of BS just takes away all the hard work she did to be a doctor and raise her baby by falling straight back for this sack of poo. Yes she gets angry but come on …why is there no happy parts other kid and bad ass job and then everything else is I love Mr loser meanwhile this hero had a community doodle for 10 years.
He was also stupid with the ow yes she was a clinger but he didn’t do much to stop her from trying to get him to take her back 🙄

Anyway I gave up at 80% ….why bc I didn’t want to also read about the bad guys (bravta) who was doing sick shit to people .

A rage read for me...I was so looking forward to reading this book , but sadly it was such a let down
No grovel, no redemption of H, totally weak & a doormat h with a huge overload of BBS
As far as cheating goes, thats a grey area ..To push her from his life, the H pretends he cheated on her, but after they meet ( 10 years later) he deliberately hurts her by flaunting the club girl in front of the h & , even to the extend of doing intimate acts with the club girl
Is this not cheating ?
Still the doormat h has BBS about him??????
Why can't authors write about a strong h without the evergreen BBS
Also the romance felt so rushed
It felt that the H only got back together with the h because she was was injured and he discovered he had a daughter
Another issue was that there was so much inner thoughts. That was bit boring.
What a let down

This book straight up fucking sucks. From the poor writing to the bs storyline to the doormat spineless fmc and the gross cheating mmc who never even apologizes this book is just the worst fucking kind of terrible. Makes me fear for women if romance novels are supposed to be the “gold standard.” Another example of read a shitty book and give the author another chance only to get a shittier book in return.

Disappointed

I was really looking forward to this book. The set up was great but...for me the author fell flat. First, way, way too much repetitive thought life. Had to skip through most if the book as it was repeat repeat repeat. Dialogue was minimal. Can't stand when there is more unnecessary words over active dialogue between characters. The concept for this break up was so sad, lacking a real "oh, I see why." moment. I get this is just a story but this author needs to dial back on the manwhore activity. You didn't know how to feel about the main characters. She should have left him in the dust and he should have been of deeper substance to do what he did. Would be nice to have another Odin. Strong, knew who his woman was and wasn't going to stray. This could have been like that with a more viable reason for the breakup.
Not looking forward to the next book. Don't mind age gap but when one is barely out if the teens it makes this reader ill. Too much older men wanting young girls. Too close to what is going on in the world.

So I went into this book after only reading book 1 in the series. I didn’t feel lost as most stuff was recapped.
This was a really well done second chance, secret baby mc romance. It had actual plot. It wasn’t just smut all the way. There was grovel and a heroine with a backbone, things missing in a lot of mc romances these days. I felt a good connection with the main characters
I did get an arc but that in no way swayed my review.

I tried again with this author, but man I really didn't like this. It was of course another BBW book, but also had the dreaded BBS from beginning to end. With 389 pages of the h droning on and on about how hot the H was, and how her panties were always soaked was just too much. Plot please and less of that. It just became tedious, repetitive, and boring. There are enough reviews out there that give spoilers so I'll just leave this here. I know I'm going to keep trying which I honestly have no idea why at this point 🤷.

Great story!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: second chance, secret baby
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a solid read. Secret babies are my jam and I love it when the kid is a little bit older, so this one definitely fit the bill. Lots of action and OW drama. I've really enjoyed what I've read of the series so far.

I am not sure where to start with this review. Eve Black is going to rip your heart out then she is going to stomp on it and then she will put it back together again. If you are anything like me you are going to want to kill trouble for a good long while. Liz on the other hand you are going to love and protect. Something Trouble should have done the bastard.
This book has a little of everything in it. You get MC, Mafia, betrayal and grovel. Oh and lets not forget the OW drama that is thrown in for good measure.
This book is heart wrenching it even had me tearing up a few times.
This book is part of a series but do not let that deter you - it can be read as a stand alone - or you could do the sane thing and read the rest of this amazing series from Eve Black.

His Choices With Amelia Were Worse Than With Bonnie

No man loves a woman and lets another woman hang on his dick in front of her.

But Liz isn't real.

Liz exists for the Unseen, Unloved and utterly Unfucked to live through, and tell themselves they are better than other women, because they live in books and not real life.

Anyway, really gets away with everything way too easily.

Like most Toxic Toddler Tyrants, he gets to Narcissistically excuse his choices and pretend he loved her.

The body is the organ of emotion.

He was able to emote with Amelia.

Meaning he wasn't in love with Liz.

Poor Ericka, growing up with a father who would do such toxic abuses to her mother.

I hate him.

Green Pilled Patriarchial Parable of Toxicity.

The Ol'Ladies do need special social castes don't they, little babies, wittle wankers.

But don't worry, none of these woman or readers have a personality, they just mirror interesting women like LGBTQ+, Black women and Neurodiverse women.

Can't imagine believing this is love.

I hope your partner ain't dipping his dick in front of people in a club, he might just manipulate you too.

They don't do it because they are mentally ill, they do it because you save them, over and over.

Poor kid.

What an awful role model who now wants to perform parenting.

So, what is the point of having an alter ego if its just another narcissist?

Snore.

Oh its Age Gap next is it?

Did Liam Payne's reputation not send enough of a message?

Love that ages are being scrutinised.

Alot.

Moving on to the appropriating of Culture.

So Ireland doesn't fight in wars.

So could you proud former genociding veterans, yes, all soldiers who think its ok to walk around civilians, armed, scaring them, then, as an Irish woman, whose first 20 years were Operation Banner, well, cannot relate.

The safely theatrical and their consumerism, including ideas they pick and choose from, to validate their own.

Nothing should ever make Liz forget that on the momentous day he discovered he was a neflectful, abusive father, he was balls deep in Amelia too.

Remember, remember where he was dipping.

Be the unseen bitches dont.

Imagine the authors werent cowards.

Hurting her because he is like daddy, and no other reason.

Abuser.

Toxic cunt.

Watching everyone lament Liam Payne's untimely demise like it meant he was a good person when he wasn't even a present father, really lets me know the Patriarchial minimum toxic women will let them away with.

Gross, how he gets the cowardly way out of pretending that hurt people, hurt people.

Nah bitch, hurt men get to allowed to say that out loud, so they can keep hurting people.

It pains me to give such a low rating on this one. Eve Black is a good writer and I have really enjoyed her books. She technically does not have cheating in her books but this one was almost worse than cheating.

So H and h were together in love he is in a MC she is planning on medical school. He apparently has a property cut for since 3 months after meeting her because he knows she is it for him. So what does he do to the love of his life? When he finds an acceptance letter from Stanford hospital instead of talking to her he decides to stage it like he was cheating on her. So she would leave. Yep you read that right. Fast forward 8 years later their paths cross again.

She becomes the MC’s go to doctor for members. So what does the H decide to do? He decides to play favourite with one of the club girls he fucks on the regular and even got her to give him a blow job in front of h when she was at their clubhouse on business. He continues to be in her face with this OW and uses her to hurt the h and keep her away. He not only is fucking this one he is still fucking others and letting this one stay in his room. He even thinks how he could make her his ol’’lady but you know he only loves the h. He loves her so much he can get hard for another woman in the same room and go off and fuck her. He was a disgusting pig. She tried to explain it off as his past issues and wanting the best for her. I never for a moment felt like the H really loved the h. I felt like he will cheat. So the h never left town she went to medical school and had their daughter and raised her alone. She had tried to let him know but he went cold on her. So two years of seeing him fucking around he finds out about the daughter and decides he wants her and no one else. Ulter bull. He broke up with her to sow his wild oats and fucked everything in sight for 10 years.

There was hardly any gravol his apology to the club girl for leading her on was more heart felt. This one honestly left a bad taste in my mouth and I wish I had not read it. I would not have touched the walking STD with a 10 foot pole. This was not romance it was look at this doormat I can do what I want.

2.5⭐️

I really liked this one at first, but found myself struggling to finish it. It just felt a bit repetitive and too much in the characters' heads.

The betrayal was good, and OWD was plentiful - something I love reading, but I would've liked this more if there'd been some sort of grovel. I don't expect much from a MC guy, but give me something. There's a lot of self hate from the H for what he did, yet he still displayed disgusting behavior for two years. He constantly threw OW (one in particular who, of course, got property patch ideas) in the h's face despite how much he "loved" the h. 😒 He openly did sexual things with OW in front of her - many times - in order to hurt her and keep her pushed away. You don't treat someone you love that way. I think he did too much and was irredeemable. To top that off, he apologized to the main OW for leading her on even though he had yet to apologize to the h for all the many, many things he deliberately did to hurt her. She deserved better.

Lots of BBS. We get it. The H is hot. The h deserved to have an amazing sex life during the 10 year break up, yet she wasn't even allowed that and had been celibate for the last three years. I wish we could stop treating our FMCs that way. The MMCs get all the sex they want, but our FMCs are rarely allowed the same.

My rating: 4 stars

What I loved: I love second chance romances and this one did not disappoint. I loved how Erik/Trouble(H) apologized and owned up to his mistakes. I especially loved how Liz(h) let Erik know how badly he hurt her and made him work for her forgiveness.

What I didn’t like: I wish the bad guy suffered more, especially how evil he was. I’m blood thirsty like that ;)…..love the way Hell Hound thinks

***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: This is the 4th book in the series. h meets H and they hit it off right away. H is part of an MC and h is going to college to become a doctor. h just found out that she is pregnant. Later, h gets a text to meet the H at the bar. When she gets there she hears him with a clubwhore having sex, telling the woman that he is only with the h because she is easy and if she was pregnant that he would make her get rid of it. h runs and decides not to tell the H about the baby. 10 years later the h is now the clubs on call doctor. Whenever she shows up at the club the H is with ow(a different clubwhore), making sure the h sees them. When h gets caught up in trouble and is beat up badly, the h’s daughter calls the president for help. When they show up the H realizes he has a daughter. H realizes the mistakes he made and proceeds to become the man he needs to be for the h and a father for his daughter. H steps up to protect his family and to make up for his mistakes. h makes him work for it and finally they talk things out (which not everything was as it seems). At the end, the bad guy is taken care of and the H and h get their HEA.

Final thoughts: I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait to read Grimm’s book.

I don’t know why I always feel like I have to excuse my reviews but I do. I also liked to say, that I normally, LOVE THIS AUTHOR. Eve Black writes something and I’m all over it. I love OW Drama, don’t care for cheating that much, prefer mild BBS in my stories and she’s usually right there hitting them out of the park. I waited since Book 1 it feels like for Liz and Troubles' story, and now that it’s here? I feel let down. I feel like everything I prefer about this author wasn’t here. This is probably the longest review I’ve ever written because I was just so.let.down.

Liz and Trouble met at 21/28, I think? Erik (aka Trouble) is a huge tall Viking with a massive troubled past (dad beat mom to death) and former military just started out in a MC. Liz is a chubby sweet medical student who literally bumps into him at a bar, goes home with him and they are together for 13 months and Trouble? Gosh is SOOOO SWEET. Caring, attentive, downright sexy beast. He’s nervous about forever and loving someone but loves Liz and she is a goner for him. He calls her Skizzy (skid row trailer trash- something she called herself but is kind of ick honestly).

One day, Trouble knocks her mail off her counter, acts weird, and leaves. He texts Liz later to meet him at the clubhouse later that night. When she shows up, everyone is “off” to her. They look at her with pity, can’t meet her eyes, yada yada. She gets told Trouble is in the back room with Bonnie, a club whore from other books. Liz gets outside the door and can hear Trouble and Bonnie having sex and even worse, talking shit about her. The gist is that he’s wanted to scrape her off for weeks but she’s a clingy fat sidepiece and that he’s been cheating on her their whole relationship. Bonnie also insults Liz up and down and Trouble says nothing. When Bonnie says you better hope her fat ass does not baby trap you, Trouble says IF she got pregnant, he would make her get rid of it or else and he never wants kids. Liz obviously broken-hearted leaves.

Oh, and in true romance fashion, Liz is pregnant. Was going to tell Trouble that day. Now in their story you DO have to read the other books because even though THIS book starts 10 years after that betrayal moment, Liz has been back in the MC/Club life for TWO YEARS (featured in the other books). She is working for the club as their on-call doctor, she doesn’t really want to but they are paying her so much money and between her clinic, her student loans and her DAUGHTER she can’t say no.

What has Trouble been doing since she’s been back and while she was gone? Fucking anything and everything that moves including club whores. One, Amelia, is his favorite and ANYTIME Liz walks in the room or even around Trouble grabs Amelia and starts making out with her, having her sit on his lap and even has her suck his dick just so Liz can see. He acts like he loathes the ground Liz walks on and throws other women in her face for TWO years before this story picks back up.

Seriously, one scene has Liz working in the clinic when Trouble comes in to get Advil for his fuckbuddy because she was “super sore” from the pounding he gave her last night and this morning. Then his fuckbuddy walks in, in his T-shirt and nothing else. No panties, vagina exposed. They both talk shit and “smirk” at Liz. (Btw, can I get a word count on smirk in this book? I love you EB but yikes!)

When their story starts again, Liz is opening her door to two men she does not know. Turns out it’s the Bratva-Russian Mafia. She learns her business partner doctor has been cleaning mafia money through the clinic they work at and has disappeared with 5 million dollars of Mafia money. Liz is beaten near to death as a message. (Which I get and do not get, she is not involved with the partner and has no idea where he is). Her daughter, now 9, calls Odin (Book 1) and Trouble is with him. They both hear about Liz’s daughter (who no one knew existed) and that her name is Erika (after her Daddy). Obviously, she is Trouble’s daughter.

Trouble immediately feels guilty for the first time and is pissed at Liz for keeping his daughter from him. When Liz wakes up in the hospital, we basically learn that Liz never left Las Vegas, finished college, and raised their daughter in the same town as Trouble for the LAST TEN YEARS. Like she’s beaten to death and he’s riding her ass about her daughter when he’s the one that viciously dumped her and said he’d force an abortion on her.

Trouble’s excuse for cheating on her is that he saw a letter from Stanford and thought she should go to a better school and leave him for a better life than he could give to her. So, he purposefully broke her heart in the cruelest way possible so she would leave him behind. Did not ask questions, did not talk to her, did not break up with her normally, did not have a single motherfluffing conversation, just chose cruelty and fucking up her entire world and backstabbed her horrifically.

We also learn IF HE HAD talked to her, he would learn that Liz was *never* going to go to Stanford because they only offered a partial scholarship whereas UNLV offered a full ride so she was *always* going to stay in Las Vegas with or without him. So basically, he missed the last ten years of his daughter’s life, fucked Liz over and broke her heart for absolutely nothing. What does that have to do with the last two years of repeatedly fucking women in FRONT of Liz? Absolutely nothing. He’s just a piece of shit.

Trouble decides out of the blue, despite fucking Liz over ten years ago, sleeping with anything that moves and having a halfass girlfriend for two years that he has been throwing in Liz’s face (oh and he lets the OW treat Liz like shit too) that he wants “the love of his life” back and to be a father. Give me a break.

He moves Liz into his house for protection reasons (and because she has got a broken arm, wrist, ribs, concussion, internal bleeding so can’t do shit on her own) and to get to know his daughter.

This is 50% of the way through the book.

Liz to her credit wants to hate him but cannot get past his oh so good looks and how he turns her on even ten years later. I cannot even count how many times she gets lost in thought staring at his lips and every single time he smirks like a jackass. (WHY EVE?! YOU HATE BBS NORMALLY SO WHY??!?!)

They spend a few weeks at Trouble’s house recuperating. Liz starts to soften when she sees how good of a dad Trouble is. Repeatedly, Liz gets to deal with OW Amelia’s crazy ass in her face talking shit about her, her kid and how she fucked Trouble in front of Liz the last two years. Trouble excuses his behavior by saying she was easy pussy (something he called Liz) and he was “numb.” Mmmmk.

He then tries to use the fact that he still turns Liz on against her constantly, trapping her up against counters and talking dirty in her ear. He isn’t making amends or doing anything to change his behavior (besides not sleeping with other women for 3 weeks) just using sex as a weapon. It happens the whole rest of the book. He smirks every time she blushes or her nipples get hard or she shivers. Smirk. Smirk. Smirk. No grovel.

He also confesses that he never *actually* cheated on Liz ten years ago. He just wanted her to live a better life that he somehow made up in his head so he faked fucking Bonnie, faked sounds/silhouettes of fucking through the door and let Bonnie run her mouth and he went along with it because he knew she was standing there. So, his betrayal cannot be that bad because there was no actual fucking. Never mind that he purposely, cruelly, intentionally fucked over a woman that adored him and had to raise his kid and finish college alone.

It's just a bit of ick too but he had Bonnie tell him how good his “fat dick” was, he has memories of him teaching Liz to ask for his “fat dick” and Amelia constantly talks about missing his “fat dick”. Again, with the repetitive language and use of the SAME things he did with Liz as he did with club whores.

In the background of the story, there’s the Russian Bratva whose obsessed with Liz, stalking her, killing and raping women and trying to take over MC territory. Apparently, he saw a photo of Liz at 13 when she was a foster child and is obsessed with her. It’s not really necessary and I didn’t need the incredibly graphic detail of him cutting up, raping and killing women.

More OW Drama happens like Amelia sending Liz naked selfies of her in Trouble’s bed (he didn’t know she was there) and confronting her in the clinic again. Trouble bans her from club properties for 30 days.

Trouble also admits he apologized to Amelia for using her for two years too so her behavior is his fault (kind of is). Liz points out that NOT ONCE HAS TROUBLE EVER APOLOGIZED TO LIZ FOR WHAT HE PUT HER THROUGH. NOT ONCE IN TEN YEARS. But he apologized to a club whore.

This is 76% OF THE WAY THROUGH THE BOOK.

Trouble then apologizes profusely. Reiterates he wanted her to leave and have a better life. Again, what is this better life? Like she was already becoming a DOCTOR when they met. He just decides that her college isn’t good enough but that she has to run away to a better one. Da faq? Blah blah, he never stopped loving her and didn’t even want to see her married or happy or having kids because he still loved her for those ten years. Great. But then he says he ENJOYED using Amelia in front of her, like a wall between them, and that he’d see how she was jealous when she saw them together and HE LIKED IT. This POS right here….

Liz tells him it had nothing to do with jealousy but that every time he touched, kissed, fingered, fucked and let Amelia suck him IN FRONT OF HER AND THE CLUB it felt like a stabbing and betrayal all over again. It had been a punch in the face. Trouble then admits he wanted to hurt her because it hurt him seeing her when she was no longer his. BECAUSE HE DUMPED HER. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THIS BOOK?!

Liz and Trouble fuck after that for the first time in ten years. The next day, Liz gets a call from her shady business partner who stole the money and agrees to meet him at the clinic and take back the Russia’s money FOR HIM which is probably the dumbest shit and line I’ve ever heard in my life. She was nearly beat to death by them but she’ll go meet them and her ex-business partner to handle 5 million dollars in stolen Mafia money? Mmmmk. Rolling my eyes so hard. Let’s go with that story line. She pulls into the clinic and instead of her business partners car, she sees the Mafia sedan that has been following her and BRUSHES it off. Okay, so we’re making this character whose been a strong female single mom doctor suddenly, the dumbest character alive?

She was also so reckless with her driving to get away from her MC babysitter, she cut off another car, who then clipped the MC brother on his bike behind her hurting him badly.

Liz is now alone at her old clinic with all the Russian’s she’s been hiding from because apparently, she’s now a fucking moron. Amelia who was following her to beat her up, sees the Russians (thank gosh) and gets scared and calls Trouble.

Liz is meanwhile getting threatened by the Bratva and learning that her business partner died weeks ago and never called her. (Duh!). Somehow after dating the guy a year, working with him for 3 years she couldn’t tell it wasn’t him. Now the Bratva is telling her how he’ll rape her, then rape her daughter but first she has to call a meeting between him and the MC. Liz stabs him, Trouble busts in and shoots the Bratva. They all go back to the club where Amelia jumps into Trouble’s arms (and he lets her and catches her). Liz grabs her by the hair and kicks her in the pussy. Amelia gets banned by Odin.

They have a “real come to Jesus talk” about their relationship, her stabbing the Russian, him killing his father and his abusive past. He gives her his property patch. And HEA.

Siigh. Going to go re-read the first three to wash the taste out of my mouth.

For the record, this book is the whole reason why I started the series. So I patiently read all of the ones that came before, looked forward to this one, and now I’m done.

First and foremost, spelling errors grammatical errors here and there are not a problem to me but, as her books continue the errors get worse. I literally just can’t anymore.

The H is nothing more than a POS.
The h is a doormat
The fact that he apologized to Amelia first pissed me off .
The fact that Liz fell right back into him after falling apart because he apologized to Amelia and not her proves she’s a doormat.
Amelia, who runs into the club and jumps into his arms and rather than let her fall catches her? And then once again the FMC in the book is the one to “drag the bitch out by her hair “ ? Nope. That should’ve been all on him.
And finally, the pages upon pages of inner monologue has just gotten out of hand and made the book even more boring. 🥱

Now, this is clearly IMO. I have nothing against BBW books. I am just struggling with an entire series of every FMC being BBW. I’m in no way saying that every FMC is supposed to have some perfect body, but the BBW gets old and I’m just trying to picture a club full of BBW‘s with hot men and yep I just can’t. 🙃 and listen before you jump down my back I can say this because I myself am a BBW. I get pissed off when I read authors writing about women that are so overweight wearing a size 12 or even a 14. I know women who wear those sizes and you would never even realize they are that size. So I just wish authors would refrain from using particular sizes in describing some of these women as so overweight or so big. Again, that’s IMO - which is why this is MY review.

Okay so I’m gonna be upfront and mention that what I’m about to say will insult this authors ability of rationality.

MC romance, OW drama, perceived cheating. Written in the third person, this book follows the story of Liz and Erik. It starts 10 years ago when they first meet. He’s just out of the army when him and an army buddy decide to start a motorcycle club. He meets the FMC and they begin dating. This book is also surprised pregnancy. When the FMC finds out that she’s pregnant, she goes to one of the bars the motorcycle club owns, not realizing that she is walking into a perceived cheating situation. We later find out in the book all of this was orchestrated by the MMC to essentially force the FMC to go on and live the life he thinks she won’t have if she stays with him.

Fast-forward to the present timeline, the FMC is now a doctor and she has been helping out the motorcycle club in that capacity. She has interactions with the MMC, and during that time he does what he can to throw the other woman in the story in her face. What I do wish is that instead of these being memories that we learn about through the FMC‘s chapters, that they were actually written out for us as the reader to experience. All this time, the MMC was not aware that he has a child with the FMC. An incident happens and the FMC is hurt and that’s when he finds out about his daughter and once he does, he fights to get the FMC back knowing he wants to be a part of his daughters life, but we also learn he has always loved her and never felt worthy of her or her love.

Due to the external threat that’s part of the plot, the FMC is forced to live with the MMC and he begins his grovel to earn her trust back. There continues to be some other woman drama that we do get to experience, which is good. But overall, the MMC does a nice job of groveling to get her forgiveness.

I did enjoy the book. There were some grammar errors that did not influence my rating because I was able to look past them. There was also some repetition in the monologues of the characters, but that was definitely more in the first like 25% of the book. After that, it definitely got better. Overall, I just really enjoyed reading their story and thought that the character development was well done, the plot kept me wanting to read it, and the other woman drama was nice.

Erik aka Trouble has his own secret which he doesn't share. But back to his first meeting with Elizabeth aka Liz or Skizzy in the a dive bar 12 years back and they go to her place. Erik said that she is the most beautiful woman ever, loves the curvy figure , blonde hair and blue eyes. After 13 months , Erik arranges a breakup with her so that she will leave Vegas for Sanford University thinking that she got a full scholarship for medical school. But what Erik doesn't know is that Liz is pregnant. What was Erik's breakup plan? Liz was hired as a doctor to work for the motorcycle club to run a clinic in their clubhouse 2 years ago by Odin, club president. What no one at the MC know, is that Liz has a 9-yr-old daughter named Erika. She had seen Trouble openly having blowjobs with Amelia,a club girl when she comes to the club for the clinic. Liz is also a partner in a medical clinic with another doctor, Lyle. Liz gets a visit from the Russian Mob about $5M missing that was being laundered thru the clinic. One evening, there are loud knocks on her home's front door. Liz tells Erika to take her phone and hide in the closet plus call Odin if she didn't come for her in 10 minutes. Liz is beaten and left by Danil Oblek,Vegas Mob boss as a reminder that they want their money. Odin and Trouble are in Odin's truck when the call comes in thru the the truck's speaker showing Dr. Liz; only it is not the Doc but a little girl telling them that her mama is hurt and won't wake up. How bad is Liz's injuries? How will the MC protect her and Erika? How will Trouble handle going forward now he knows that he has a daughter? Will Erik be able to convince Liz that he wants her back in his life? Will the bad guys ever be brought to 'justice'? Will Trouble ever tell Liz his secret?.

Unfortunately, the heroines from this series share the same lack of self-esteem or respect for themselves. They're described as strong but they bark more than they bite.
In front of the heroes - who are absolute assholes (the only exception being Odin) - they turn into gooey blobs because of body betrayal syndrome. The author always tries to justify their behavior because of traumatic childhood but it's so insincere.
Here, the hero decided to fake having sex with a club woman to force the heroine to leave Las Vegas and go study to Stanford. In any way she has ever mentioned going there. He just found a letter, assumed he knew better and decided for her.
10 yeas later, she's back (she never left the city but he doesn't know) and instead of being an actual human being and talk to her, he decides to just fuck around in public with another club woman. He is the asshole but still thinks he needs to punish the heroine for something that doesn't exist. Absolutely mindblowing to ever have the beginning of the thought of forgiving him.
They have a 10 years old girl and he's mad because he wasn't in her life. He forgot that when he was "fake having sex" with the club woman he said that if the heroine was pregnant he would have made her get rid of it, LAUGHING CRUELLY. AND HE HAS THE NERVE TO BE MAD?! That and his asshole behavior when she did nothing to him tells me she was right and she should have moved to the other side of the country. That little girl doesn't need a father like this. And she certainly doesn't need to see her mother being a doormat.

Oh my goodness I adored this book

I am NOT a fan of secret child and usually skip past this trope in series but I adore this author and this series so dove in regardless.

I can’t say how this ticks every one of the boxes that usually leave me so unsatisfied

* H taking responsibility for not knowing his child and not blaming h for keeping “secrets”
* H not rushing and pushing for a perfect relationship with the child and allowing h to set the tone and pace (well ish 🤣)
* the brothers being upset with H and not h for what happened

These points are so rare, usually there is so much guilt tripping and hatred which really makes me fume, but the author addressed this trope perfectly for me

Hot heavy and romantic, I loved how this book started and how Trouble adored everything about Liz. I admired how Liz was just herself and had no airs or graces, you took her as you found her.

Even loved the angst, which made me want to wallop Trouble with a frying pan and his actions re the OW drama might have pushed me over the edge but again he owned this which made me kind of love him a bit more.

I hope we see hellhound and Liz build a relationship as she is understandably salty and he is feeling guilty which was alluded to but not resolved.

Looking forward to Grimm’s story and finding out what the heck is going on with Dragon!!.

This story really tugged at my heart, whilst being an involved, thrilling and exciting ride.
It was more than a love story between Erik/Trouble and Liz, but also about a found family with little Erika and their all encompassing love for each other. It was realistic how Trouble accepted and understood his mistake, stepped up and put in the work to reconcile with Liz and his precious daughter, realising that his cowardly actions of the past would make a convoluted and tough redemption.
Liz was a strong, beautiful and powerful doctor who gave her all to her work but still wasn’t afraid to show some sass and brawn and put Trouble and the pitiful Amelia in their places. Trouble worked hard to make amends and you could see his angst and commitment throughout the story, while Liz never faltered in her righteous indignation and propensity to make the best of the situation for her daughter and herself.
With strength and compassion, both characters grew exponentially into the much-loved family they had both longed for and the evil villain was eventually put down in a most satisfying manner.
It was so good to have the tie ins of Odin, Skathi, Hawk, Fae, Tessa and Fang throughout the story and to catch up with others in the Savage Raiders brotherhood. I’m eagerly awaiting the next in the series with bated breath!
I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.

This is book 4 of the Savage Raiders MC. It is recommended that you read them in order as other characters of the MC featured in previous books will make appearances in this one. I had not read the others before choosing this book and still found it to be a full and compelling story. I do intend to go back now and read the first 3 before the 5th book comes out. They met 12 years ago in a bar and it was lust at first sight. They could not keep their hands off of each other. One night turned into a blissful 18 months, until the night he betrayed her. She ran from him knowing she was taking a secret with her but she could not forgive him. Now 10 years later she is a doctor and the President has made her an offer she can't refuse, be the on-call doctor for the club and earn a salary that would enable her to spend more time with her daughter. She just has to stay away from Trouble. Even years later with a million miles, lies, and secrets between them, the chemistry is undeniable. The character development is great in this story, you get a very detailed understanding of who they are including family pasts. There is current danger and past trauma to overcome but they work through it for their well deserved HEA.

this review has spoilers so read at your own peril!! I have read all of Eve Black's stories and honestly they just keep getting better. Savage Heart was her best yet. There was tons of angst and of course a HEA which we all want. Trouble and Liz were perfect together until they were not. Trouble really had some messed up ideas and I couldn't understand his thinking in the beginning until I got to the part that explained a bit about his past and then I understood him better. He was still a you know what but still... Liz was just the best kind of h. She took no prisoners' and was a fierce mama for her little girl. The premise of the story is that Trouble is dating Liz and they are in love. There is perceived cheating but known actually. When they meet up again years later, he doesn't act the best (actually he acts the worst). Unbeknownst to him Liz was pregnant with his child when they broke up. He realizes his mistakes and grovels. Who doesn't like a satisfying grovel? Throw in crazy mafia men, one especially dangerous man, damsel in destress, cute as a button kid, suspense and a big Alpha male (who ends up being a teddy bear to Liz and his daughter) and you end up with a perfect story. Cant wait for your next book Eve!! :)

Personal preference

To start with the positives, the plot was decent and it flowed through the book without issues. The betrayal was beautiful (for us betrayal lovers) and Trouble certainly it put some grovel in. He did apologise and I did feel he regretted his actions and wouldn’t do it again.
However, it was very heavy on the internal monologue and extremely repetitive. Both Liz and Troubles thoughts were the same ‘he’s so hot his lips are the best’ and ‘ I’m such a turd but I love her curvy body and I’m so horrible’ I love an author who tries to make her heroine have a backbone and stand her ground. Unfortunately when the same heroine is constantly thinking how hot he is and how badly her hormones are taking over, it diminishes any attempt at creating a strong heroine. Women are not ruled by our hormones and libido! There are also a lot of spelling issues. Missing words, wrongly spelt words and words in the wrong order. It’s enough to be notable
It’s not a bad book at all, my review is based on my own personal preference (except the spelling) I won’t read the next book though, I’m tired of female authors thinking it’s romantic or hot to put middle aged men in their 40’s with girls 18-20 years old. It’s predatory and so wrong and gross. Reeks of grooming
