A world filled with vampires; a blood pack made long ago; A girl at the center of attention as she must fulfill her family's promise.
Calla Montgomery is a college student whose ancestor sold her life away after a blood pack was made with a vampire. She has no choice but to comply, but that doesn't mean she will go down without a fight.
You read Calla's POV in the first book, Bound in Crimson. Crimson Bound is the POV of the vampires Atlas, Lex, Gabriel, and Kade. You get to know their emotions, feelings, and thoughts as they learn to navigate their lives with a human living with them.
I loved reading the different points of view in the first book. It was great to know how the vampires were feeling instead of just Calla. You are given a broader insight into the world J.A. Carter created, and it's beautiful and spicy. Crimson Bound is well-written, and I loved every second I read it, I can't wait to read the rest of the Blood Oath series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
🩸 "She was promised to us before she was born... Now we've come to collect." 🩸
If you thought Bound in Crimson was gripping, Crimson Bound takes it to a whole new level by diving into the minds of the vampire squad! 🖤 Atlas, Kade, Gabriel, and Lex steal the show with their intense POVs, giving us all the broody, dangerous, and oh-so-delicious vibes we craved! 🧛♂️
This is not just a retelling—it's a whole new bite of the story that adds depth, darkness, and a dose of danger. If you’ve ever screamed, “I NEED MORE OF THEM,” here’s your answer. 😉🔥
📚 READING ORDER ALERT: Be sure to start with Bound in Crimson so you’re not left wondering who’s biting who. Trust me, this series is bloody addictive. 💋
Get ready to be bound, crimson lovers. This one’s a killer... literally. 🩸🖤
I know I’ve posted about the Blood Oath series before but I seriously cannot rave enough about how much I absolutely adore this series. And now I have even more of a reason. Crimson Bound is book one of the series Bound in Crimson but from the POV of all the guys. I loved getting the guys perspective in this book because it’s all their firsts and these big reveals. The rest of the series you get dual pov and I remember looking back and wishing for it for book one. You absolutely get different perspectives and you feel differently about what’s going on. Plus you fall in love with everyone a little faster.
I would highly recommend doing a tandem read with the two books that way you also get Calla’s POV and in my opinion the best overall experience of reading book one.
If you haven’t started this series now is the best time. You absolutely won’t regret it.
Crimson Bound is a part of the Blood Oath series, taking place at the same time as the first book in the series. Bound In Crimson. This is a paranormal reverse harem. Due to a deal made by her ancestors, Calla finds herself bound by a blood oath to Atlas, Lex, Kade and Gabriel. This book is told from the point of view of all four guys, giving you a better insight into what the guys are thinking and feeling throughout the storyline. There is so much angst, hatred, determination, desire, hurt, danger, conflict and spice. I was captivated from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. Absolutely fantastic addition to the series. Can’t wait to see what comes next!!! I received this directly from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
This story is SO hard to put down! I was enthralled from the very beginning. However, I wasn’t aware that it was a small novella in a larger series, which is comepletely my own fault! Had I known, I would’ve made it a priority to read book 1 in the series, much sooner. But I still think it’s an amazing story and I’m currently working through the entire series because IM ADDICTED TO THESE VAMPIRES!
Kade, Lex, Atlas and Gabriel are some of my Roman Empire characters and are currently all I can think about 🙈 I’m in love with the face that every single one of them is so vastly different, that you’re literally getting all the flavors of the rainbow 🥹 Calla, my queen, you are a lucky little bitch!
I decided to a series reread and as I said in my updated review of book 1, I wish I hadn't.
I found this book and bought it before I started the reread, so basically I was stuck with it.
This is basically just book one. It's fills in some information they weren't giving to Calla, but now it has me thinking about plot holes. Specifically about their glamor.
Calla, after deciding to be a doormat, starts asking a lot of questions. Kade, Atlas, Gabe, and Lex, aren't answering them. They say it's because they don't want Calla to use information against them, they say she'll get answers in time, blah, blah, blah.
They could have given her the answers and just glamored her not to talk about it, but nope.
Crimson Bound is the events from Bound in Crimson from the POVs of Atlas, Kade, Gabriel, and Lex

Crimson Bound is well-written, and I loved every second I read it, I can't wait to read the rest of the Blood Oath series. I really hope J.A. Carter intends to write the remainder of the books in the Blood Oath series from Atlas, Kade, Lex, and Gabriel’s POV!
Did you read Bound in Crimson and wanted more? Specifically, wanted to know what was going through Atlas, Gabriel, Lex, and Kade’s minds? Maybe you just secretly wished for their POV or maybe you reached out to J.A. Carter demanding it! Regardless, J.A. Carter ATE with this book!
I loved being in the guys’ heads. It was a surreal experience knowing what ELSE was happening outside of Calla during the book. If you’re a fan of the series, or even if you’re a fan of paranormal/vampire romances, Crimson Bound and the Blood Oath series is for you.
I loved this short read. It was a lot of fun and had some tension and angst. Calla and her men were enjoyable to read about. I loved that each of them brought something different to the story, they all had very different personalities. The banter between the men was fun too. Atlas is going to be the harder shell to crack, but I can already see the fissures in his resolve. It was steamy and a bit bloody with some foreseeable action and drama coming. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series to learn what happens with Calla and her harem of vampires.
I loved this RH series and was so thrilled to get this extra book written from the point of view of the guys. While the book does cover the same time frame as the first book, it held my interest from the start. With a solid plot, vampires that seem even hotter in this one than they were in the first book and tons of spice, I highly recommend reading this right after book 1 if you haven't read it already. if you’ve finished the series, this a a great way to visit Atlas, Kade, Gabriel, Lex and Calla again!
It was great getting to know the guys’ POVs in this story. If you haven’t read Book 1 yet, it is told from Calla’s POV. She is a feisty thing and not going without a fight! The guys, Atlas, Gabe, Lex, and Kade are vampires who have been watching her for years because she was promised to them by her ancestors. Once they come to collect, she is taken back to their mansion and cannot help but succumb to their dangerous allure. So spicy and the guys really give you an understanding of their softer sides, showing us how Calla has gotten into their hearts. What a great read!
This one was fun. It was a quick read at 200ish pages and I enjoyed seeing the book from the MMCs POVs vs just Calla. I think this book was a great companion book and gave some great insights to the books in the Blood Oath series (I would recommend you read that series first or it will seem disjointed). All in all, a solid book why choose vampire steamy romance with a great look into the minds of Lex, Atlas, Kade and Gabe… which let’s face it, it’s why I’m here 😉
This book was everything I hoped and more. I loved getting to know more they boys toward the beggining of the story, it was so much fun and PRO TIP, please, please, please, pretty please, if you haven't read book one do a tandem read since this book happens simultaneously with Bound in Crimson. Easy peasy, start with this one chapter one, then BiC chapter one, and so on.
Thank you so much to J.A. for the e-ARC copy. This is my own opion.
This book is a complement to the first book. And is a great one. Is the guys POV and they are so HOT and hilarious. With this book we can get to know the personalities and dynamics of the 4. Is a light dark. A PNR RH about an human woman that her family agreed to give to 4 vampires. She doesn't go with them of her own free will. But all the hotness is consensual. There is mention of MM. So good! The first book ends with a cliffhanger.
I absolutely loved this version as told by the men and feel like it would've been even more perfect if some of the POV's from Calla in book one were incorporated in this book. Other than that, it was a complete retelling of the first book, only from the men's POV's. This should definitely have been book 1 and not 1.5. The scene in the back seat of the car is so much HOTTER from the MMC's pov 🔥🔥 On to book 2!
I loved this book, I love getting to read from the Male’s pov and this book had all of them and i enjoyed getting to see the different pov’s of each and you could really get a different perspective of each one. I have to say Kade was my favorite in this book. If you have a love for vampires and love a great male Pov pick up this book and give it a read, it doe not disappoint.
Spicy, reverse harem, multiple point of view, paranormal (vampires!), contemporary romance. Crimson Bound shows the first book Bound In Crimson from the male main characters' perspective. All of the characters are strong personalities. There is some tension but there are great pops of humor. A really fun quick read.
I got an opportunity to read this book, and I took it without reading the book before it. With that being said, I enjoyed it even without Callas point of view! The spicy scenes are hot hot hot. We've got broody vampires with varying personalities, we've got a feisty FMC, tension, spice, and of course we've got an ending that leaves you needing to find out what happens next!
Absolutely loved seeing everything from the men’s perspective. It really showed us what they were thinking and reasons behind some of their actions. It made me quite curious about some of them as well in regards to wanting to know more about them. It was a really good short read
A kidnapped angry strong female character against four vampires. These characters are all strong personalities but fit together well! The romance builds but is she really feeling it or just playing to get away 😉
This book was EVERYTHING. It was hilarious filling in gaps. I aways wondered what the characters think when they act or respond. This definitely answered those question. Fit with book 1 perfectly. Absolutely loved it
This book was deliciously steamy and had some delightful men in it. It could be confusing at times switching between the four men but gave really yummy different POVs it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger and I can’t wait to read the next book!
I enjoyed having the pov reversed and seeing from the guy's pov. It brought perspective to things from the first book that opened my eyes to what was going on! I encourage you to grab your copy
I enjoyed getting to re-read the events from Bound In Crimson from the guys pov. It was interesting to experience it from Atlas, Lex, Kade and Gabriel's perspectives.
I loooved the other POV. If I was calla I would be pissed too. So many secrets. Having 4 different vamp povs was nice, getting more information about what happens in the first book. I'm still hooked and will continue reading!
