I’d say I had a solid time reading this manga. Even though I’m not very familiar with omegaverse, I found it surprisingly easy to follow and the story did a good job of introducing the concept. I enjoyed the overall dynamic and thought the artwork and character designs were really nice.
The idol aspect wasn’t necessarily my favorite part, but it was still enjoyable and didn’t take away too much from my overall experience. This was a fun, easy read and I’m glad I gave it a chance!

As someone who reads an unhealthy amount of BL manhwa, I am very well-versed in the “k-pop + omegaverse” plotlines. I was definitely excited to pick this one up; it’s always fun to read others’ interpretations of the genre. This manga follows many classic genre beats: an omega posing as an alpha, typical anti-omega sentiments, etc. If you’re in the mood for classic omegaverse, this is definitely worth the read.
My biggest hang-up is one that I have with all one-shot manga; there just wasn’t enough time to get to know the characters. There is no blame towards the mangaka; it is nearly impossible to fall for characters in only 200 pages. There is also the issue of pacing the story; I think Seina nailed it, given the page limit they had. It just comes down to me and my personal preferences. I really like to sit with the characters for a while and get to know them.
Where this manga really shines, however, is the artwork. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Often, mangaka can favor beauty over expression, and as a result, the panels can look stiff and unnatural. Seina didn’t do this. Their style is breathtaking but expressive. The panel layouts are also very unique, making every page a different experience.
Overall, I liked this manga. I saw on the author’s Goodreads profile that they have a manga series, so I will be checking it out after this! Thank you, NetGalley, Kodansha, and the mangaka for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is a one-shot manga, so the story is told in a single volume. I did think the plot was a little scattered at times, but I overall had an enjoyable time reading this!

Boring, but ok. I wish they had a future chapter, bcs I wanted to see if they had kids, and how the fans would have reacted knowing they were together and not two alphas, but omega and alpha.

Idol omegaverse!!!!!!!! To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of omegaverse - even though I do tend to read a little bit lol - but the idol industry setting SPOKE to me. Being an idol enjoyer myself, the underlying message in this story hits true.
I understand this is a BL and that requires erotica (I do read a lot of them) And thank you Anji Seina for this being a rare one where my ace eyes don’t have to look at full frontal. However, I did think the first scene came outta nowhere, but I guess it kinda is the whole setup of the plot lol.
Anyway, I really liked this. I would love for this to turn out to be a series, but if it stays as a oneshot, that’s okay too. I think the character development was enough! (And Eri is the baby girliest alpha I’ve read about and I love him for it and I just want more of him lol)

L'uke teòricament és un alfa d'un grup superpopular d'alfes, però en realitat amaga la seva condició d'omega. Tot surt a llum quan ha de fer una col·laboració amb un altre alfa per a un programa i se li desencadena la heat. Molt i molt previsible, amb els mateixos dilemes de sempre en el món idol (no fer públiques ni orientació sexual ni relacions actuals) que m'avorreixen una mica :/

I don’t understand the hype around this one. Sure, it’s a one-shot, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that it didn’t deliver anything by the end. I got the idea and the message, but the story was poorly paced.

Eri is a young alpha kpop star who lands a session with Sooyoung, a top idol from an alpha boy and group - except he’s hiding the fact that he’s not actually an alpha.
Eri scents Sooyoung and accidentally bites him, causing them to mate. They then live together to figure the situation out while still learning their dance together.
Overall, I felt like the chemistry fell short and the story was slightly hard to follow and feel invested in. It was a cool concept but I didn’t feel engaged in the follow through.
I think if there was more time to build it up, it would feel more believable. But I was a bit lost and bored throughout.

I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. It started with Omegaverse and Idol exposition, and then gave us a very insta-lovey romance that didn’t feel realistic. I would have liked to see more chemisty between our two main characters and I wanted to see them build an emotional foundation.

After seeing so many good reviews on social media, i naturally had high expectations, but unfortunately they weren't met.
That's the problem with standalones. It's difficult to find a good one because almost every time everything happens way too quickly, and that's exactly the case here. I also felt nothing between them like no tension no chemistry absolutely nothing, which ruined it even more for me, but the art style itself was still very beautiful and enjoyable to look at.

This story tries to make it like Eri and Sooyoung are soul mates and, as the reader, it isn't shown well in the story. We don't see them get to know each other or hang out, it goes straight to "Eri knows me better than anyone." Motherfucker, no he doesn't! You guys haven't really had a conversation that wasn't about being an idol or you guys were just fucking.
I was so bored, this story is a nothing burger.
I think this could have had potential but the biggest miss was not showing the two characters getting to know each other and falling in love. We were missing the whole point of a romance in a romance BL manga.

The art is knock-your-teeth-out gorgeous. Everything else is kind of a mess.
This truly does read like the artist might have intended for this story to go very different places, and either audience or editor feedback ending up changing its course... which, you know, happens, but it leaves a lot of loose threads and unanswered questions. Chief among them:

For all that this is an omegaverse — complete with fated mates, fake dating, and copious amounts of sex — this story is more about the two characters navigating the world of idol-dom while trying to figure out their lives. Sooyoung Lee, for all that he’s an omega, is very much the one in charge in the relationship. He’s older, raised by a parent who is himself in the industry (albeit he makes idols rather than is one), and has spent much of his life hiding his status as an omega.
Sooyoung comes from a life of wealth and privilege and isn’t interested in giving that up — or giving up being an idol. He loves his job, loves performing, and while he also hopes one day to be able to free about who he is … that’s just not what he wants right now. And it’s nice to see a character who can think past the hormones and have an opinion on his future that doesn’t have him relying on anyone else. Yes, he falls in love, but he’s not looking at Eri to save him, fix him, or breed him.
Eri is a friend, a lover, and a mate. But he’s also his own person with his own life. Eri, for his part, works hard to be a worthy member of his own idol group, practicing dancing and singing for hours to be good at what he does. And while he loves Sooyoung, he’s not interested in owning him; there’s no growling and proclaiming “mine” while beating his chest. He respects Sooyoung, treats him as a person, and supports him.
This is a marvelously green flag relationship that deals with some of the realities of idol life: schedules, training, the strict scrutiny of management, the need to fill fan expectations, the inability to be entirely themselves because they’re presenting a fantasy to sell albums and merch … and Sooyoung’s plans to eventually retire in his 30s (or as he calls it, middle aged) before coming out so he doesn’t harm his group.
This is fun with a couple I believe in, and a bonus ending setting up another character for their own story. Well worth the read if you’re into idol stories and mild omegaverse. There’s no pregnancy, no possessive behavior, and no alphaholes. Just two people falling in love, and deciding what they want out of their lives.

I ended up liking this more than I thought! I'm a sucker for BL omegaverse, I read anything that has that label and this one had me invested from the start. I actually had my eyes on it for months because of the gorgeous cover.
Speaking about the art, it is absolutely stunning. One of its strongest qualities for sure. Both characters make a great pair visually, the contrast between their sizes and hair color is nice. It makes them fit together very well. Many panels were drawn in a cool artistic way too.
Now onto the plot. I really like idol stories, anything related to the idol life has me immediately intrigued, so it's no surprise that I enjoyed the main storyline as much. Combining two idols from different groups and countries for a cover duet is an incredible idea for a BL plot, even more given the secret one of the MCs holds about his designation.
Despite their story following one that's similar to the fated mates trope, I actually didn't mind it at all because it felt better fleshed out than others, since their relationship developed steadily after that incident. Both characters have very distinct personalities and that makes them more interesting as a pair as well.
I also liked the inclusion about their desires for a future life, where one MC is clear about where he stands when it comes to the topic of having children. Not that I don't love other works where the couple has kids very fast, I actually enjoy them a lot, but because the conclusion in general fit them well and I'm always up for some fresh ideas.
Ultimately, I had an amazing time with this manga. Part of me wished this had at least a couple of chapters more. I wouldn't even have minded if this was done in two volumes, but thankfully the author managed to develop a story with a decent pacing for a single one.

Sucked in by another pretty cover. I briefly read the synopsis and saw BL, K-pop idols and my brain skipped over the omegaverse.
Overall it's a whirlwind of a manga where alpha's are the main dominants in showbiz. Eri the rookie alpha idol from the group Vinks pairs up with top idol Sooyoong Lee from band a-code. The two of them have to perform a hot dance about 'fated mates'. Except Sooyoong is not exactly an Alpha and goes into heat it turns out he's an omega. (Fun fact that I learnt about Omega's both male and female can get pregnant )
Anyway, The Sooyoong ends up getting bitten by Eri without his consent and because of that now they are mates. AND OMFG DOES THAT PISS ME OFF. Eri knows what he has done is wrong and 'can't help it' and mates with Sooyoong. Yes he might be young but that isn't an excuse for not asking about consent. Furthermore, it really highlights the importance of consent.
Because of the mate bond they're both forced to live together under the premise of mentor and student. Be ause ya know an idol in a scandal can ruin their career. Look I love forced proximity and this is no exception, but I wish it wasn't under these circumstances. The romance really fell flat and I was hoping for them to get to know one another and have more conversations, it felt very flippy floppy and it ruined the immersion for me.
However this is a one shot, but I think it might have been better to flesh it out over a volume or two to really have Eri and Sooyoong connect and have it not feel rushed
I enjoyed the fact that it was the idol companies tampering with their relationship but no big miscommunication as such.
This isn't normally something I would go for, however besides being slightly confused by Omegaverse terminology and having to go down that rabbit hole. I enjoyed the drama and dance with this story. I think others who enjoy the Omegaverse and idol drama will enjoy this one, but I don't think it was 100% for me.

Stavolta la copertina ha fatto gran parte del lavoro nel convincermi a leggere questo BL.
Purtroppo la storia non mi ha lasciato granchè. La sceneggiatura, sopratutto nelle prime pagine era confusa, non si capiva chi era chi dei vari personaggi, rendendo la lettura fastidiosamente a singhiozzo.
Per quanto riguarda i disegni: si salvano solo i primi piani. Purtroppo sia l'anatomia generale che le scene spicy sono un gran caos e non si riesce a capire nulla, rendendo totalmente il lettore indifferente a quello che sta succedendo. This time the cover did most of the work in convincing me to read this BL.
Unfortunately, the story didn't leave much of an impression on me. The script, especially in the first few pages, was confusing; it was hard to tell who was who among the various characters, making the reading annoyingly inconsistent.
As for the drawings: only the close-ups are worth saving. Both the general anatomy and the spicy scenes are a complete mess and it's impossible to understand anything, making the reader completely indifferent to what's happening. Conveying passion and a certain kind of emotion is an art that must be mastered. Drawing two naked bodies isn't enough to captivate the reader.
Not to mention some shots that make the story difficult to read.
In short, let's say the idea behind the story was good, but it probably should have been drawn by someone with more experience.

Purtroppo la storia non mi ha lasciato granchè. La sceneggiatura, sopratutto nelle prime pagine era confusa, non si capiva chi era chi dei vari personaggi, rendendo la lettura fastidiosamente a singhiozzo.

Eri is a rising idol from a newly debuted group. Sooyoung Lee is a star from a major agency’s elite, alpha unit. A renowned producer notices Eri’s dancing talent. And he wants to pair Eri with Sooyoung in a dance number to a particular song. Eri stumbles upon Sooyoung’s secret while rehearsing their dance number – that he is no alpha but secretly an omega. This secret has the potential to threaten both of their careers if revealed.
I did not care for Sooyoung that much. He just rubbed me the wrong way, especially his method to gain Eri’s silence. Yeah, I understand Sooyoung’s cynic views of fated love/alpha-omega bonding. He has been exposed to it at an early age… and he has seen the destruction it caused with those involved.
Sooyoung’s father irked me. I wanted to throttle the jerk for behaving as he did. He did not see Sooyoung as his offspring, but a product that brought him and his agency money and fame.
Eri is such a cinnamon roll! It is really easy to like him, especially his work ethic. He did not rely on his secondary gender as most idols did. Instead, Eri put all his effort and energy into his idol practice and rehearsals.

The character designs were expressive and very pretty, the backgrounds were always fitting and detailed, and there were also a couple of fairytale-like, fantasy style panels of the main characters. It also helped a lot that Eri reminds me of my ultimate bias, so I guess you could say I was *biased* to like it from the start.
The omegaverse is described in the very traditional sense, with all the usual, distinct elements. For my fellow AO3 addicts, you know exactly what to expect. I feel like there wasn't really much surprise in that aspect, but it was still very enjoyable, especially if that's one of the tropes you usually go for. I'm not much of the omegaverse enjoyer myself, but I still found it interesting and fun.
I especially loved the relationship between the main characters. The power dynamic wasn't forced, their communication and relationship in general was healthy, and the emotional tension built alongside the attraction and physical romance. I'm definitely an avid manga reader and yaoi enjoyer. I saw the cover and the description and knew I would enjoy this. The whole ABO trope is not new to me, but I love how this was about a bond that was formed by mistake. I also think it's super cool to have the option for the Alpha to break a bond. I don't think I've really seen this idea enough.
The Alpha, Eri, is such a sweetheart. He is possibly the biggest green flag and definitely very very naive and innocent compared to his omega, Sooyoung Lee. He is just so easy to love. Handsome, tall, and very much a consent king (minus the accidental bite from his first time). I think he's definitely a good match for Sooyoung, who seems to have to bear too much to keep up his appearance. Eri feels very much like a newbie to everything and I find it so endearing that he's always trying his best.
Sooyoung is a little more cunning. He's been in the profession for longer and knows how to force others to agree to what he's decided. I do love that he is very assertive and knows what he wants. He's also the yin to Eri's yang. I feel that even though Sooyoung is the omega, he's more likely to be the power bottom. I find their relationship so adorable.
The manga does portray the dark side of pop culture. We see the higher ups trying to make the decision for the men. We also see that newbie pop groups, like the one Eri belongs to, are more susceptible to being discarded the moment there's a scandal. The author definitely made it quite realistic considering pop culture is pretty much a world where a single misstep can cost you your job.

Honestly? It wasn't really great. Just your typical omegaverse + idol BL where the omega hides his true identity because omegas are still somewhat discriminated against in modern society. Sooyoung is respected as the elite Alpha of an idol group. Except... he's not an Alpha. He is an omega pretending to be an alpha. Eri, meanwhile, is a rookie Maknae of a just-debuted idol group. He happens to be really talented and the only Alpha among his beta co-workers. When he gets opportunity to work with Sooyoung for a collaborative dance about "fated mates", Eri the-admirer-of-Sooyoung takes the opportunity. But during one rehearsal, he catches the scent of an omega and discovers Sooyoung's secret.
Weirdly, Sooyoung's solution to this is make Eri sleep with him... I have no idea how that would've helped Sooyoung keep his secret but oh well... And that is when Eri loses control and bites his neck, forming a bond. Oh my, who could've seen this coming? And that's how their journey to deal with being mates start.
It was clitche and pretty predictable. A little boring too. But still an okay BL if you don't want to commit to anything plot-heavy. I like how they eventually handled things with cunning rather than having a fairytale ending where they just come out about their relationship and everyone claps and it's happily ever after.

like many others i am well versed in omegaverse and popstar BLs, including specifically popstar bls. i was very intrigued by the direction this could take that very popular trope (and admittedly i requested because of the gorgeous cover).
my one gripe is that this was too short, which is the downside of being a oneshot. while the angst was not fully explored to its full potential, i did enjoy this quite a bit.
one thing that really sells the story is the beautiful art style. it is just so pretty (you can tell from the cover) and conveys the look of the idol industry so well. maybe it's because it's so pretty to look at, i was convinced of eri and sooyoung's yearning.
i am more than just a believer of the lust to love trope, and honestly amidst the cutthroat idol industry i loved how eri and sooyoung eventually took the time to get to know each other, put in the work. the social media plot to stir up the fans was genius.

Very sweet romance manga!
I love the trope of an omega pretending to be an alpha! It eats every time, and this is no exception. The plot is over the top and melodramatic, which should be expected for this type of BL. I had a blast reading it, but you definitely need to be down to clown a bit.
Admittedly, I find omegaverse to be pretty hit or miss, since I struggle to suspend my disbelief enough to deal with the gender essentialism, and violent pseudo misogyny. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how sweet the romance was. There is some non consensual bonding, but for the most part their relationship is built on a mutual respect.
Overall: I think you can read the blurb and be able to tell right away if you would enjoy this or not.

Adding in the omegaverse was such a sensually smart move, not just for the heat but for the deeper, more emotional themes too- because they're definitely there, despite the spice.
I really liked the story and pacing, there was some instalust but to be fair omegaverse tends to lean towards it in most stories anyway, so I didn't mind. The characters both had their own struggles and ambitions, as well as the pressure of their upcoming dance performance weighed heavily on their shoulders, I really liked how they opened up to each other and ended up healing a part of each other, especially when it came to the struggles of media and the fans' judgements.
The artwork was simply gorgeous, I found it so mesmerising during the dancing. I would totally recommend this for a heated, passionate manga. It for sure had the Hearts Ablaze event feel from Love and Deepspace!!

"comeback after fate" is a heartwarming BL about two idols in the sexist and daunting music industry coming together to define their own happiness. the manga is short and sweet, with plenty of background information provided on omegaverse for anyone unfamiliar with the genre. it does require a small baseline of information of the idol industry in either south korea or japan, but otherwise is straight forward. the art style was cute and on occasion a little silly; featuring full page art, chibi panels, and experimental use of foreshortening. there are instances where i wasn't immediately sure which character was speaking or thinking, but was able to figure it out shortly.
due to the length, "comeback after fate" is limited in it's scope. it is very surface level and feels like it could have benefited from being part of a longer series (perhaps a trilogy)—i would have liked to see more of eri and sooyoung! while short, it doesn't inherently feel rushed and is a sweet little manga. i recommend this for anyone who is just starting to get into omegaverse as a genre and for any fan of BL idol romance.

This is a typical omega-verse one-shot story about a quite popular and not that popular idols and their dance rehearsals. The cover looked great, mix of colors and shades combined in a light yet sensual drawing. Manga itself is a one time read, I unfortunately couldn't find myself immersed into the setting not due to the specifics of the genre, but I'm just probably more after somewhat better art and chemistry. Plot is very much fitting the omega-verse and so suitable for a short story. In general I felt like there could have been more to the duet deepness other than just carnal lust due to pheromones, accidental bonding and such. Sex scenes looked somewhat cheesy shallow and lacked the spark. Skimmed through some of the pages, unfounded drama was a bit too much personally for my taste. There were some good panels of the dance itself at the end.

This is a typical omega-verse one-shot story about a quite popular and not that popular idols and their dance rehearsals. The cover looked great, mix of colors and shades combined in a light yet sensual drawing. Manga itself is a one time read, I unfortunately couldn't find myself immersed into the setting not due to the specifics of the genre, but I'm just probably more after somewhat better art and chemistry. Solid premise, rather weak execution. Due to the story wrapping up in a single volume, the characters felt less like well-rounded individual but more of mouthpieces for the story. The hiding-as-an-alpha trope is done many times, especially in celebrity stories, so I was a bit curious on how this would be spun to fit more of the Korean idol industry; my expectations were crushed as aside from both Eri and Sooyoung being the maknaes/youngest in their groups, there wasn't much difference from the usual celebrity set up. I wish they just fleshed out the characters and their arcs a bit more - clearly the foundation was already there. That being said, it was an enjoyable enough read.
