FATE WILL NOT BE DENIED
I need an option for at least 8 stars for this book. Miss Julia has done it again. Her stories of the Dragon Guard are amazing.
This is Lance's story. Lance is the jokester of the clan, has a smart mouth, is gorgeous, and is a beautiful Golden dragon. He has lost a lot, so once he finds his mate, he tries to stay away from her, while protecting her at the same time. He doesn't want her to get hurt while they are still chasing after Andrew.
Samantha "Sam" is a doctor in her surgical residency. She was kidnapped by the Auctioneer, Lance saved her from the burning warehouse. That was their first meeting. She can't get him out of her mind and she swears he is always around watching her, but not in a stalker type of way, but in a protective way and she feels safe.
Sydney is a little cutie, that is so smart. She is a foster kid that Sam has to operate on. Sam instantly connects with her due to them both being orphans. She is a very smart little girl and understands and knows things about the dragons before she is told about it. I can't wait to find out more about her. I do have my theories.
Lance learns that Fate Will Not Be Denied and he can't deny is mate anymore. It's such a powerful call, one that he can't keep ignoring.

The beautiful ones will be created as the perfect completion for the men who take up our spirits. One woman destined for one man, to live on Earth, and in the Heavens, joined for all times. I am already pestering Julia for the next book in the series. Even though this is a series, and is the 3rd book, you can read it as a standalone. She does a great job filling in details from previous books, you will just miss the other stories of how the dragons found their mates and the adventure and struggles they had to all go through. You will not be let down with reading this book.

(Shivers) SPECTACULAR!!! Julia Mills does it again! Lance is the jokester who makes you want to smack him and love him all at once. He met Sam when the went after he traitor. Lance was hell bent on not claiming him mate until things were calmer and safer. Sam has a one track mind and that track is all about her career! HA I LOVED HOW THE BOTH FELL!! It was perfect!!
The traitor (Andrew) he's so twisted, angry, and hurt.i really want to hate it but I find myself felling sorry for him. It's so sad to see him plummeting towards rock bottom.
We met so,e great new Charchters in this book. My favorite was he adorable Sydney. She's the cutest little things ever.
It was just another great addition to this series. I can't wait until the next one!!

It doesn't take much for Lance to be happy when his girl is involved, "he reveled in the half-lidded, sexy look of her eyes and her kiss-swollen lips, knowing he and he alone had done that to her. The blush on her cheeks was an unexpected bonus that had his chest swelling with pride." With Lance I notice he doesn't always have a stick up his bum where she is concerned and we see a different side of him, "he would have laughed out loud at the look of disappointment in her eyes if his co** wasn't so hard he was sure he could pound nails with it. "Now, get your pretty little a** dressed, and I'll be sitting over by the door," he wiggled is eyebrows for effect, "enjoying the view." I really do love this series and I'm excited for more.

Praise for Julia Mills with Haunted by Her Dragon, the third installment to The Dragon Guard Series.
This is Samantha and Lance's story, but the large, well developed cast of characters are very much a part of the action. We meet young Sydney, she is a patient of Dr. Samantha Malone(Dr. Sam), and it seems there is more to this little "tow headed sprite" than what first meets the eyes.
Of course we see more of the other five Shifters in all of their Dragon glory.
We see and learn more about Kyra, the White Witch who has been helping Andrew. I was
surprised at what I learned in fact, there is something special about her, and Royce is just all at odds and acting strange about it, lol!
The action is truly kicked up a few notches as Dragons and were panthers enter the fray and fight together against some very dark magic.
Samantha's talent as a doctor is put to the test when Lance is mortally wounded.
I was just glued to this one, the hits just kept on coming, I couldn't put it down!
And Oh Yeah!......Have no fear, the romance is hotter than ever.

I loved this book. I can't even begin to give it the review it deserves.
Lance, a golden dragon and prankster of the Dragon Guard finds his mate, Dr Samantha Malone, a surgical resident. He tries to stay away from "Sam" to protect her from Mr A and Andrew another dragon. Sydney an orphan and patient of Sam's is kidnapped by Andrew to draw Lance and the rest of the Dragon Guard out. Things just keep happening as Lance works to keep his mate and Sydney safe.
There is so much action and love in this story, it is like no other story you have read.
I HIGHLY recommend this book!! The book can be read as a stand alone but to get the fullimpact of the characters I would recommend reading the series in order.

Haunted by Her Dragon is the 3rd book in the Dragon Guard Series. This one settles on Lance, the wisecracking, hotdogging, jokester of the group.
He ragged Rayne and Aidan terribly when each one found his mate. Now it seems that paybacks are due.
Lance finds his One beneath a pile of rubble from an exploding building, cussing like a sailor. He knows the moment that he lays eyes on her that she is his. The one the Universe created just for him.
He decides not to claim her as his mate until the traitor is caught. He remembers what happened to Kyndel and Grace because of the ass, and he is afraid for Sam.
Dr Samantha Malone is in her final year of surgical residency, and the last thing she need in her life right now is a man. However, when she sees this 6’ plus hunk of man, with a cheeky grin, and twinkling blue eyes, pulling her out of the rubble. She can’t explain what she feels for him. The way she automatically trust him.
After a grueling day of work, and a run in with a social worker caring for a young one named Sydney, Sam finally heads for home. She knows Lance is watching her, and where she should be creeped out by it, she just feels warm and protected.
On the way home her car breaks down, and here comes our Lance to the rescue, and the fun begins.
Now having actually met Sam and gotten close to her, there is no way Lance can stay away from her now.
But there is still the traitor. Can Sam and Lance survive what’s to come? Come along and see. Julia Mills has really outdone herself with this one. It is warm, sexy, loving and even funny.

I am in love with the writing style of this author. She has again created a great cast of characters that just adds to the overall plot of this ongoing saga. In this segment we learn more about Samantha aka Doc. She is such an amazing woman. Her survivor mentality is so deeply ingrained that you cannot help but feel all the pain she has throughout her life. We are also introduced to Sydney, foster child who has no one left to lean on. There is an instant connection that Doc feels to Syndey because of their similar history. Ever faithfully watching from the sidelines is Lance, Dragon man extraordinaire. Lance is the typical stubborn dragon shifter in every way, battling his growing desire to have Doc and compromising her safety. He falls more in love with her every day, but with the impending danger of Andrew and the Auctioneer, should he risk claiming her and inviting danger into her world?
The cast of this story is beautifully written. Julia has gracefully introduced the next segment of the story. I am thoroughly intrigued to find out more about Syd and what makes her so special. I am also excited to learn more about Gramps and his fated love! Great amount of suspense mixed with love and enough realism that you can definitely buy into the story line. I give this five fangs! Get writing Julia, I need more!

This series just keeps getting hotter. I wish I could give it a 10 Star rating. Haunted by her dragon focuses on Lance and Sam. We first meet Sam at the end of Her Dragons Fire. Haunted by Her Dragon picks up the story seven months after the explosion.
This is one series that all paranormal romance fans must read. Julia has done it again. I cant wait to see what she comes up with next.
Here are two of my favorite quotes from this book -
"Royce always told him the day would come when his mouth would write a check his ass couldn't cash. Well, if kissing Sam had been that check then he would be a pauper selling pencils in the street for just one more taste."
"The Universe may not make mistakes, but She damn sure knew how to screw with a guy's sanity."

I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is only the third book that this author has written but I was blown away by the way she grabbed my emotions and put me through the wringer. Which is a good thing because it is showing that with each book she has written that she is improving and perfecting her craft.
I loved meeting Sam and getting to know her as well as seeing how Lance falls for his "Doc", he ribbed his brethren when they had fallen for their mates, now he has to taste his own medicine.
Because it was an ARC I found many editing issues but that is to be expected and I alerted the author so she could fix them before officially hitting the publish button.
I encourage anyone who reads this review to check this author out because in my opinion she is a rising star in the world of books and authors.

WOW another AMAZING READ!!
Love Sam, and how independent and feisty she is ( as all the mates to the dragons seem to be) but they eventually give in to the Love and protection of their dragon. Syd was such a adorable addition to the series, still not sure how she is so attune to the dragons and knows more than most people would. A mystery for sure.
Lance and Sam together make a wonderful pair, Fate doesn't make mistakes and they are perfect for each other , even with similar losses in the backgrounds that kept them from opening up to love, but when all was revealed Sam finally put the final pieces together and moved forward with her one true very sexy golden dragon.
Ok now I want the next book .... how soon ?? lol

Readers won't get lost if they venture into the series out of order as Mills provides a brief recap of the previous action.
When Lance saved Sam from a kidnapper known as 'The Auctioneer' (aka Mr. A) in "Fire", he recognized his mate. Because the Dragon Guard have a traitor to the clan as well as murderous black mages and hunters out to eradicate the dragon clans, Lance decided to wait to approach Sam and to watch his One from a distance. Sam barely met her rescuer, but feels a haunting yet protective presence hovering around her. However, the traitor appears in Sam's life and threatens her safety and that of her favorite surgical patient, six-year-old Sydney, forcing Lance out of the background.

Best of all while winding this story to its conclusion, readers aren't left unsatisfied with a cliffhanger ending. However, Mills masterfully alludes to future story twists in a clever epilogue that leaves them eagerly and impatiently waiting for Book Four.

Very enjoyable tale. Want more! I was given an advanced copy for an honest review. This book is a part of a series but can be read alone. Ms Mills writing keeps getting better and better with each book.
Haunted by Her Dragon is about a very different main characters. One is a joker and the other is a medical doctor. But both take their life work very seriously.Lance has long been the joker of the group of his squad and never wanted to settle down. Sam and Lance!!! Oh Sweet Heavens!! Samantha is a doctor and is a rather serious sort. She has goals and plans that do not include a man. Lance is a sexy dragon shifter who knows that Sam is his Mate, but doesn’t want to do anything about it any time soon. Together, they make me absolutely swoon!! Lance is sexy, but he is also sweet, generous, kind, funny, a prankster, loveable, romantic, and Sexy!!
The relationship that the Dragon Guard boys have with their mates, their Brethren, and their other family members is heartwarming and fun!! I love all of these guys!! Julia Mills just gets better and better with every book. This book is part of a series and is best read as a series. I was gifted this book by the author for an honest review. This book is one of my favorites. Lance is a smart-ass dragon-man. He is always giving his fellow guardsman a hard time. When he rescued Dr. Sam in the previous book, he realizes that she is his mate. The one the Universe has made for him. This book has non stop action and a beautiful story. I highly recommend this book to everyone. This is by far the best so far from the Dragon Guardsman. Love it!!!!

As this is the third book in the series, you do need to read them all to get the full flavour and appreciation of the world that Julia Mills has created.
Payback is a bitch for Lance, a brave and sexy as sin Dragonshifter, has been teasing the members of his clan that have found their mates constantly and now it is his turn. He knew that Dr Samantha Malone was the one for her the moment he looked into her eyes when he rescued her from the hands of kidnappers. Ever since that day he has been keeping his distance to keep her safe but close enough to protect her.
Dr Samantha Malone, Sam is a fiercely independent woman who depends on no-one but herself. She has been alone for most of her life after the tragic death of her own family and growing up in foster care. She is scared of opening her own heart for fear of losing loved ones again.
Unfortunately, Andrew is still around causing problems for the Dragon Guard and their mates (present and future), determined to get revenge for what he sees as their desertion of him when he was captured. Hell bent on gaining strength through dark magic, no-one is safe from him and his plan.

Lance has his work cut out breaking down these walls but if anyone is up to the task it's Lance. By taking things slowly and being protective and caring, he does this slowly but surely but it takes the possibility of losing each other for this wall to truly come crumbling down.
The Dragon Guard are honourable dragonshifters and as hot as sin with an easy, teasing rapport that draws you in to their world. The way that they worship and treat their soulmates with utmost respect and love and ravish them whenever they can will make you pine for one of your own. The women that end up with the dragonshifters are very lucky indeed.
Another fantastic read from Julia Mills, with a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat, hot sex scenes and characters that you can relate to and fall in love with for the most part. I can't wait see who is next to find their mate - oh how the mighty are made stronger with their mate by their side!

This is the third book in Ms. Mills' Dragon Guard series and I just loved it. I like the flow of the story and connection between the two main characters. Events were smoothly drawn out and I got a great sense of who the characters were on a personal level. I had a little trouble with the instant admiration of the little patient that Sam was caring for at the beginning of the story, I just didn't feel the depth of emotion I thought would have come from that situation. However toward the end I felt a little better about the connection, though not completely. I am left wondering the origin of the child as it was not really solidified in the story. Perhaps Ms. Mills has left us hanging on this particular mystery to give us a cliffhanger feel and all will be resolved in the next book. *fingers crossed* I also love how versatile Lance was, known as the endless joker Ms. Mills gave us a grand look into the more serious side of him, which just made him even more fantastic than he already was. (Please note this review is based on a "beta-reading" copy and I have not yet read the final copy, so this could change in the near future when I read it for my pleasure)
Ms. Mills has really become a wonderful storyteller and I know she is only going to get better the more she writes. This story contained so many wonderful facets of the Dragon Guard world. I loved the return of previous characters and their interactions with the main characters. So many authors have a tendency to put past characters from previous books on the back burner never bringing them back into the spotlight for a visit, Ms. Mills breaks this mold and brings us fantastic interaction with all the characters in her story. Bravo!!
I am so excited for the future installments of this series that I am on pins and needles! If Ms. Mills was looking to suck in some loyal fans she has accomplished her goal in this woman! I have actually bumped down a few of my well known authors to "I'll get their books later" just so I can make sure I get my Dragon Guards books first! If you're looking for a fun, sexy, exciting paranormal romance about Dragon shifters give this series a try, because it's getting better and better with each release!!

I have been reading along with Julia Mills Dragon Guard Series and, I swear, each on keeps getting better and better! Her writing continues to amaze me and I just love all her men *wink*
Haunted by Her Dragon is Lance's story. I think we all have a little love/hate relationship with Lance. He is such a pain in the *ss but a cute one you can't help but want to playfully banter with. We all have one of those guys who are just a natural flirt, cocky grin and loves to give you that panty melting wink! Well that is Lance and he has finally met his mate; Samantha 'Sam" Malone.
Sam is loveable and a bit odd. She is so guarded from her past that it seems like her wall is up for most of the book. I wanted to reach in and tell her she deserved to be happy and to let go!! I mean come on, you got a hot guy who wants to make you scream his name and put your needs first...yes by all means fight your feelings and not let him in; NO! I do understand why she was protective of her heart though and I can't fault her for that, but I can be frustrated.
What stuck out in this book from the others was that we got a look into the day to day life of the clan. Before it seemed they were out of their elements and away from "home" while trying to handle the situation. But in this book we actually get to see a lot of the clan members and get a better sense of their family which I LOVED! It made me fall in love with the clan and feel like part of it!
There was also a twist of the little girl Sydney in this book! I loved that there were children, as sometimes they are absent in a lot of romance books which makes "sexy time" harder as anyone with kids know. Sydney is too cute and like Sam, Lance and the rest of the clan I fell for her Charm as well!
UGH there is so much I can say about this book but I can't right a ten page report on Amazon so I will just tell you that you MUST 'One Click' this and any other book in the Dragon Guard Series and start reading today!

Samantha Malone has had her share of hardships. She lost her family in a tragic car accident, and she's still reeling from an unexpected kidnapping. Though she's done her best to move on with her life, it hasn't been that easy. She still yearns for what she's lost, even though she knows she'll never see her loved ones again. Samantha's life takes another unexpected turn when the luscious Lance makes another appearance in her life. The man has been wreaking havoc on her libido ever since she laid eyes on him. Refusing to bend to anyone's will but her own, she promises herself to protect her charge with every fiber of her being. Granted, Lance's mere presence throws a crimp into her plans, but she's determined in achieving her goals.
As further attempts on her life are made, Samantha does her best to come to terms with the way things are now. Though she doesn't quite understand what's going on, she knows there's a suitable explanation. Lance obviously knows, but refuses to say much. Getting him to talk is going to take some doing, something she'll do everything to make happen. Somehow, some way, the truth will be known. Crisis must be averted. Only then, can she give in to the way Lance makes her feel whenever he's around.
Although I've started this series with the third book, I must say that it provides enough back story to make it stand alone. I found each of the characters to be endearing in their own right. Even the enigmatic Andrew has his own merits. A truly suspenseful read, I look forward to more of these lovely characters, and will definitely catch up soon on what I've missed with books one and two.

Hands up who likes to see a strapping hunk of a man brought to his knees by the little ol' emotion called Love?? I know I do :D and in 'Haunted By Her Dragon' poor Lance gets pummeled by love, which he tries to resist until the danger has passed. Well, you and I both know that was so never gonna happen LOL.
Characters from the first two books feature in this book too, but not in a way that will have you wondering who the hell they are. Lance's Brethern and their mates are an excellent supporting cast to Lance and Sam's starring roles, accompanied by Sydney - a blonde whirlwind.
This story is rife with Dragon Men, Werepanthers, Wizards and strong females who have their men's backs. Rivalry, camaraderie - which will make you smile, heat between the sheets and more than one bad guy make 'Haunted By Her Dragon' a fantastic read. One which will keep you up late just so you can find out what happens next.
I got so engrossed in the story, loved the details and how it played out that when I checked on my reading progress, I was shocked to see I was only on Chapter three!! The words "No way!" sprang to mind because there was so much story, I thought I was halfway through the book.
Being Irish, I loved the Irish endearments that were used. It made me smile to see a language I learned as a youngster in school being used in a book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
My favorite character? Kyra, the feisty witch with attitude galore :D I can't wait to read about her and the Guardsman the Universe created her for :D
Julia Mills has written a book, no, make that has written a series, that paranormal romance fans will love to read repeatedly and for that, a 5 star rating has to be given :D

Again this author has published a great book. This book is a series but can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend the series . She does a great job filling in gaps from other books in relation to the other characters , but to read the series you learn more detail and their story . This story is of Lance a dragon guard and his mate Sam. Dragon shifters have a pre ordained mate When a dragon finds his mate it is forever . Our dragon shifter in this book is Lance who has always given smart remarks to the other guards when they found their mates. Sam his mate had something very bad happen to her and Lance saved her .This started what will be FATE. He tries to ignore the mating call partly because the dragon guard have their hands full and their enemy would not think but to hurt a guards mate, so he watches from afar .
Sam is a strong woman that has been through a lot, but has overcome all this to become a doctor. Ever since her very bad experience she feels like someone is watching over her . She remembers a gorgeous man saving her and since then he is in her mind and she feels like HE is watching out for her . There is another character Sydney in this story she is a little girl with a lot in common with Sam, Sam treats her for a medical problem and forges a bond with her. Sydney is very smart has insight beyond her years and I so hope to find out more about her in future books . The story is well written and so entertaining . This is definitely my favourite book so far but I will reserve judgment until Royce's book comes out The story follows on from the previous book and I would recommend reading these in order, although you could read them as stand-alones at a push as there is a brief review at the beginning.
This story is all about Sam and Lance. Lance is the golden play boy who never wanted to be tied down to one. He's the comedian who lets only a few people past his guard. Sam is the doctor who is working to hard to establish her career and to get her own space. The last thing she wants is to share that space with someone else... right?!

I have slowly becoming a fan of dragon shifters but this book made it absolutely clear that I LOVE DRAGONS. This is only the 3rd book as well as the 3rd in this series by this very talented author. This is the story of Lance, a Dragon Guardsmen and Dr. Samantha Malone, a resident surgeon. In the 2nd book, Her Dragon’s Fire, you were introduced to Lance as the jokester of the dragons clan. He is also a fierce yet very beautiful dragon with golden scales. Ms. Mills has a knack of bringing places, persons, things and creatures to life. Lance has been watching and protecting Dr. Sam from a distance. He is sure that she is also the one the Universe made just for him, his mate. Again Andrew comes along to cause trouble, as do the wizards with their black magic and The Auctioneer. A patient of Dr. Sams’, 6 year old Sydney is also introduced.
I really don’t want to give away too much, but I would Highly Recommend that you read all three books starting with Her Dragon to Slay and then Her Dragon’s Fire. I really LOVE her books and writing style. I am so excited for her and am not waiting for book four. I know it will be just as awesome as the first 3.

The title didn't seem to fit for this one....haunted by. It would indicate a ghostly sense, watched by her dragon would have been more aptly named, and the cover was okay, didn't really jump out at me. I liked that this time around there was little insecurity, much better book, and the storyline was good but we are seeing too close a pattern for the story lines in this series. Feels a little like...wash...rinse...repeat. Still overall a good book, and loved that you added Sydney to the mix. She was a nice addition, to the relationship of Lance and Sam. I can't wait until Andrews book, but I bet he will be last. I like the bad boys! Overall entertainment value....four stars.

WOW this series just keeps getting better with each book this author come out with!!!! I just love this book about Sam and Lance and the love they find and the little girl Sydney that is now apart of their family!!! Just a amazing story about love and family and what make a family not by blood but by love!!! This is so a must read!!!!

I have to say I absolutely love this series. I think I actually fell in love more after reading Lance and Sam’s story.
Dr. Samantha Malone bury’s herself in her work. She has her career goals and her life all planned out, until she meets Lance Kavanaugh.
She is a very dedicated Doctor trying to finish her internship. Working double shifts she is totally exhausted and looking forward to her two days off. As she’s getting ready to leave there is an emergency and she really doesn’t want to have to stay until she sees that the patient is a child. Sidney is an orphan and a ward of the state. She currently resides in a Foster home. Sitting in her room with her as Sam enters is her case worker. Totally ignoring the child and busy playing on her phone. Sam could tell Sydney was scared and nervous about the need to be operated on. Every time the child made a comment the Case Worker would snap at her with harsh responses and go back to what she was texting on her phone. It was all Sam could do to control herself. After a few harsh words Sam told the Case Worker to leave. Sam tried and succeeded in calming down Sydney and from that point forward they become inseparable. Sam is on her way home after making sure Sydney is settled in after her operation and tells her she’ll see her in a couple of days. On her way home Sam’s car breaks down and for the 2nd time in 6 months her mystery man comes to her rescue. As fate would have it this is the 2nd time the man who’s been haunting her dreams is right in front of her.
When Lance came to Dr. Malone’s rescue after she had been kidnapped by “The Auctioneer” and left to die in a burning building he knew Samantha Malone was his one. The “one” the universe made just for him. For six months he kept watch over her but would never attempt to claim her, he wanted to make sure the threat was taken care of and the danger neutralized. He was doing pretty good keeping the mating pull at bay until that afternoon he found his fated on the side of the road with a broken down car. All bets were off. All it took was one innocent touch and the sparks flew. Both Lance and Sam felt it, and one slip of his will power resulting in a kiss. And boy was it a kiss. So much for keeping her at arm’s length. Both Sam and Lance had emotional baggage that they needed to work through. But they needed each other to heal the wounds of the past. I absolutely loved the way this story played out. I was a little shocked around half way through the read with the turn of events. It literally caught me off guard and brought tears to my eyes. I can’t tell you what happened because it’s truly a major game changer. I loved the way Kyndel and Grace were telling the story of how the Fire Clan came to be. They basically had to explain to Sam what their men were and how they came to be. I could listen to that tale over and over.
Lance’s story still has his brethren trying to find and bring back the traitor to the tribunal, but more and more all his brethren didn’t care if they killed him. You see the traitor is Andrew and he’s Aiden’s and Aaron’s youngest brother, whom they thought dead for the past 7 years until he resurfaced and severely injured Rayne’s intended. When he kidnapped Sydney from the hospital all bets were off. During this scene you see a smidgen of Andrew’s Dragon come to the front again, with the black magic wearing off, you see his softer side. When I say smidgen I mean smidgen. He didn’t harm Syd but that’s not the point. (pst come closer, a little closer, deep down I’m so hoping that Andrew snaps out of his delusion and lets someone, Aiden or Aaron explain what really happened. Explain that Aiden thought he was dead when he saw the head thrown into the flame. That they mourned his death and never got over it. Just sayin.) We are introduced up close and personal with Kyra a white witch (she practices white magic) and she’s one feisty little fire ball with a mouth of a sailor. We also find out she is Royce’s intended. OMG I can’t wait for that book to release. We also are given hints that little Sydney may have some powers of her own, I must say I was a tad disappointed we didn’t find out what Siobhan thought she might be, or even the elders for that matter. Lance almost dropped when the Chief Elder Carrick knelt down in front of Syd to speak to her. This was totally out of character for the Elder. Oh I almost forgot to mention, just wait until you see the gift Lance gives to Sam, I totally lost it a second time. Make sure you have tissues available you’ll need them. Julia Mills Dragon Guard Series is a must read and I give “Haunted by her Dragon” 5*

~ 3 Haunted By Her Dragon Stars ~
Haunted By Her Dragon is book three in the Dragon Guards series by Julia Mills. This book can be read as a standalone, but best read in order to get full scale of characters and plot.
Haunted by Her Dragon was an ok read. It starts off a bit slow. We do get a little deeper in the plot, some suspense, and romance. The storyline was lacking in that it did not having much passion, action or imagination to this book. The couple are hot for each other, but the love build up felt like it was not there. Some of the relationship areas felt overdone or baseless. This series is an insta-atraction/love. The sex scenes where steamy and that was the only time Sam and Lance truly connected. We do meet an adorable child Sydney who is very special, but we never learn what she is, how special she is or what her gifts/powers are. There is also a mention of a prophecy, but no real talk about it.

It starts off a bit slow. And if you're like me and you kinda skipped the first two books of the series you may be a little confused at first.
The heroine Sam is in her residency as a surgery doctor. She seems to have a lot on her plate in the beginning of the book but she's working through it. She's independent and I love that about her. But towards the end of the book she isn't the spunky heroine I thought her to be. She sort of came up short personality wise.
The hero Lance is a dragon shifter and is fighting the mating urges and surprise surprise he is fighting them for "noble reasons" Why characters always fight the mating urges beats me. Im assuming the author wants him to be some type of alpha male macho man but he doesn't live up to it. He was more like a Beta male. He was boring.
Overall it was hard for me to get into it there's some editing errors it got a bit distracting reading it on my kindle. *sigh* if I'm honest this book wasn't all that great I thought it would pick up but the only picking I got was the sex scenes. The story line just didn't have any spazz or passion I should say. Like I said the sex scenes were pretty steamy, the two MC's were hot for each other and that's the only time they connected. I'm disappointed I thought it was going to be a good read but it just fell flat.
