I can see what the author was trying to do, but it didn’t translate for me. The writing style was hard to follow and there were so many typos throughout that it was distracting. Not my favorite.

Honestly I had high hopes. The concept is wonderful the execution was awful. The book was all over the place and full of typos. It was very hard to read.

Couldn’t put it down. There are some minor formatting/spelling/grammar errors but nothing too obstructive and certainly understandable being a self published novel. I felt so connected to the characters and story, truly felt immersed every chapter. I wish the ending was a bit more flushed out but the build up itself was so so good. It feels like you know what’s coming you just don’t know HOW it’s going to happen. The two POV’s and how they were done really made certain plot twists harder to guess (at least for me lol). Loved 🤞

i’d say 3.5 ⭐️ i actually really did enjoy this book and loved that it was a fast read. my only issue was that since it was so fasted it almost felt underdeveloped in a way? but i did really enjoy it and it was easy to read but there are better thriller/ mysteries out there. also there were spelling errors so that distracted me lmao

You Made Me Kill You by Allison Relyea is a compelling psychological thriller that explores the thin line between fiction and reality, and how far one can be pushed before crossing into dangerous territory. The novel follows Maureen Sinclair, a psychologist who agrees to role-play with a bestselling author researching a new character for her book. What begins as a professional collaboration soon spirals out of control, as the boundary between their roles blurs, leading to unexpected and chilling consequences.

Relyea excels at creating an atmosphere of suspense and unease. The plot is cleverly constructed, with each twist revealing new layers of complexity. The pacing is tight, keeping the reader engaged from start to finish. The author’s exploration of the mind, both its fragility and its capacity for manipulation, makes the psychological tension evident.

The interactions between Maureen and the author are fascinating, with the power dynamics shifting constantly, keeping you guessing about each character’s true intentions. The tension builds steadily, leading to a jaw-dropping climax that ties everything together in an unexpected yet satisfying way.

You Made Me Kill You is a perfect choice for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy slow-building tension, complex characters, and mind-bending twists.

A chilling and thought-provoking thriller that explores the dangers of blurring the lines between reality and fiction.
