Jackson is a wonderful short story written by author Lori Otto to bridge the gap between the Emi Lost & Found series and Contessa, the first novel of the Choisie series.
It has been many months since I finished reading Never Look Back, the final novel of the Emi Lost & Found series. I had forgotten how much I love the interaction between Jacks Holland and his wife, Emi. Their relationship has a special romantic quality that just makes my heart sing. In this short story, Emi confirms something she already suspects to be true. No spoilers here, but expect more of the impeccable, crisp and entertaining writing that we have come to expect from Lori Otto.
I absolutely enjoyed Jackson!Jackson a must read for fans of the Emi Lost & Found series! 5 Stars!
I actually read this at the end of Contessa when I bought the ebook version and loved hearing about Jackson's arrival. Emi and Jack had been through so much together and once they adopted Livvy they were complete. They had come to terms with the fact that they could never conceive a child of their own so of course Jackson was their true miracle baby. It was bittersweet reading this and I loved every minute of it!
Loved reading about Emi and Jack's response to the surprise. I could not imagine being in Emi's shoes with all she had been through. Jack's response was perfect and just what Emi needed at a time when she was so scared and insecure. His adoration or Emi and positive affirmation are some of the many things I love about Jack Holland.
This short story really made me like Jack more than the full novels did. I love how he reacted and how positive he was about Emi's condition. As always he comforted her and made her feel better.... Like Jack always does.
What a beautiful little short story of a Miracle! Emi, having been in a car accident several years ago and miscarried, was told that she would never have another baby of her own. Well, surprise! This is her story of her and Jacks baby, Jackson. Made me so happy that Emi and Jack were finally able to have a baby of their very own, it doesn't make Olivia any less special by any means, but Jack always wanted to have a baby with Emi, and by a miracle, he got his wish! :)
So, this was way too short ... but what a perfect transition into Livvy's story. This is the one thing Jacks always wanted and I can just imagine the emotional journey they went through in those 30 weeks. I can't wait to jump into this series just to get more of Emi and Jack. Nate will forever live in my heart, but Jack was her true soulmate.
quick little short story. Decent. Didn't really need to for this part of the series though, that being said I wouldn't have read it if I didn't just finish Contessa.
