Theodora Taylor writes hot books with heart. When not reading, reviewing or writing, she enjoys spending time with her amazing family, going on dating nights with her wonderful husband, and attending parties thrown by others.

The two leads interactions with each other are often nothing but miscommunication. Then they have one date in the entire 300+ page book & now they are in love.
Theodora Taylor has great ideas for books but terrible execution. Sawri. 🌝🌚
The book was extremely cute but I really could not get with the female lead. She was really making me mad. I also did the audio book and could not get past the narrator’s voice. The horrible Russian accent and more. Overall I will read the remaining books without the audio as I notice this narrator read all of Theodora Taylor books 😤
This book was the least smutty in these series of 4 and that made it one of the better ones. They're not boning every single chapter, which gave the impression Sam was more capable of separating lust from emotions. In some ways, she seemed to have the strongest backbone out of all the ladies in this series, but I think the ending unfortunately reneged on that a bit.
The set up for this story was a dark one. I felt so sad for Pavel and it seemed this was a family formed of 3 people that suffered horrible neglect and trauma from early ages. Even though they were teens when the worst of it happened, Nikolai and Sam both had pretty bad childhoods. I think they included more of Sam's insight into her work and why she did it compared to Eva. That combined with them having more time to actually know each other without just boning made Sam and Nikolai seem more significantly connected than the other couples.
Anyway, I liked Pavel a lot. I liked Sam's relationship with Pavel. I think Nyla deserved a lot better than Marco who seemed like an ass. I liked the set up here. I slightly prefer Eva and Alexei as a couple, but I think Nikolai and Sam are 2nd for me out of the 4 books.
So far this was my least favorite in the series. I hate the miscommunication/no communication trope. This entire book was filled with fmc and mmc bottling everything inside and not sitting down and having adult conversations. This was 1 ⭐️ but in general I like TT’s writing, so I gave it 2 ⭐️’s.
I was annoyed by the depiction of the dog Back Up, which I hated the name. Even the dumbest or most lovable dog will sense its owner’s emotions. So if the owner is scared bc someone broke into their home. The dog isn’t just going to sit there wagging its tail. It’s going to sense something is wrong. The author wrote about the dog almost like she’s never had one.
I will continue the series. So far I like book 1 (Alexei) the most.
He was a man that seen what he wanted and was determined to get it. Then something shocking happened in his life to make things just that much more.
She was on a simple missing in life. She wanted to be a safe place for women with no where or no one to turn to.
When the two of them get together it is surely electric. With the help of some nasty dreams they find their first connection. Then within the dark of another they make a second connection. Then no dreams, no need for comfort, the two make a deeper connection with the help of someone else in their lives.
I usually enjoy Theodora Taylor books but this one was not for me. I was just misunderstanding after misunderstanding until it became boring. You could say that while these misunderstanding were occurring both characters were yearning for each other. However, this had zero weight to me in the story.
I actually thought that the MCs would have broken up, because their chemistry? essentially non-existent in my eyes. Unfortunately, this story was just not for me.
