Field of Flowers is the tenth in the bestselling Psychic Surveys series - chilling paranormal mysteries filled with compelling characters, shocking twists, and hauntings that linger long after the last page. Perfect for fans of Barbara Erskine, Darcy Coates, Susan Hill, and classic Haunted House fiction.
I'm not frightened of you You are I've faced worse You haven't
Although Psychic Surveys remain busy, there's been no major cases lately to sink their teeth into, logical explanations found for most hauntings. That changes when Ruby gets a call from Conor Byrne, who lives in the Republic of Ireland. The fear in his voice is genuine.
Ruby, Theo, Ness and Corinna head over to the Emerald Isle to help Conor, and, of course, the distressed spirit - their aim to bring peace to the living and the dead. They arrive to find a dilapidated cottage in a rural area, and a man that's barely alive.
Conor is right to be scared, the spirit haunting him is particularly vicious, anger from beyond the grave lending her immense strength. But not only are the team dealing with her, they're dealing with lies too, from Conor, a man who insists he has no idea why the spirit has targeted him, that he's innocent of any wrongdoing.
And then there's Dervla Fitzgerald, the landlady of the nearby pub where they're staying - a woman that sits in the darkness, who's used to it. But why?
Hounded out of the cottage by psychic activity, the team and Conor all take refuge at the pub one cold and misty night. It's there that the past finally unravels, with truths laid bare.
Truths that shock them to the core.
A chilling ghost story of buried sins, restless spirits, and truths too dark to hide.

Psychic Surveys, a quaint English version of 'Ghost Busters'. A quartet of demure English ladies, each with a varying degree of psychic ability actively seek out troubled souls and encourage them to go towards the 'Light'. On this occasion they find themselves in rural Ireland trying to help a dying old man who's life is being plagued by a terrifying kind of banshee. Who is this malignant spirit and why is she hounding a dying old man? Is this old man as innocent as he claims? This was a captivating tale of old Irish myths, interspersed with murder, the 'Troubles' and the Church's shame, in the form of the notorious 'Magdalene Laundries'. Highly recommended!
The Psychic Surveys team are called to help a elderly dying man in Ireland who is being tormented by a revengeful spirit, Conor is scared and desperate. As Ruby, Ness, Corinna and Theo travel to the Emerald Isle, past horrors are revealed. As they take refuge in an isolated pub the landlady Dervla sits in darkness and the truth screams to be revealed.
What a joy to be back with the ladies of Psychic Surveys, it’s like visiting old friends and this time Ruby is in terrible danger. The story unfolds and tears open old wounds and reveals the horrors of the past. The landscape is beautiful but bleak, cut off by a dense fog they will need all their wits to find out what is going on. Exploring the real history of some of Ireland’s darkest times, this is a supernatural thriller that will have you reconsidering whether justice is deserved.
Field of Flowers by this author is book ten in The Psychic Surveys series, in this we have Ruby, Cash, Hendrix and her colleagues Theo, Ness and Corrina, not forgetting Jed the ghost dog.
Ruby receives a weird call, which piqued her interest she can't quite hear but the person who is asking for help, eventually he rings back and his name is Conor who needs help with a distressed spirit. Ruby and the gang end up tagging along for the trip to the Emerald Isle, in Ireland.
This spirit is unusually vicious and angry from the otherside. But Conor is hiding something but is on his death bed and wants to pass over peacefully. The hotel that they are staying in is very dark and shadowy even the owner Dervla Fitzgerald likes sitting in the darkness, Ruby finds this very strange, why I hear you say? You'll have to read to find out!!!!
I didn't realise how much I missed these characters who feel like family, I'd missed them. The book was calling to me when I wasn't reading. Fantastic Read I absolutely loved it!! When you start this read, oh yeah by the way I'm really horrifically shocked 😲 with what happened in this story, I found it could be an uncomfortable read too. I even had GASP OUT LOUD moment's. This story ends up concluding brilliantly done!
This author never disappoints. It was unputdownable. Looking forward to the next book 11 in the series with Ruby and the gang, roll on fingers crossed soon!!!
The Psychic Surveys series has been one of my favourites since the first book. What a story this is well worth a read if you like the genre. Set in Ireland it touches on some of the country's past and magic beliefs, the fae etc and also woven between another story which has , not a surprising end (at least not for me) but a rich conclusion to it that takes it's toll on the team especially Ruby. Be prepared to settle in with a hot drink and comfy blanket and a few biscuits for good measure as once you start reading you won't want to stop! I just hope they are more stories for Pyschic Surveys that haven't been told yet brewing in the authors imagination as I look forward to the next one.
This series is so good! With each book we learn a little more about each member of the team. The team heads to Ireland to help an old man. This book was all kinds of twisted, yet as the case started to develop, things were definitely not as they first seemed. I can’t wait for the next book!!!
The psychic survey books seem to get better and better. I love all the characters in these books it's just like meeting up with old friends again and they are telling us what they have been up to. Once you start these books it's so hard to put them down. Thank you Shani for these amazing books can't wait for the next one.
Great read. Didn't keep me gripped though like Shani's other publications until the last few chapters when things started to ramp up. Looking forward to her next release. Please don't leave us waiting too long Shani :))
Loves this series of books. This one set in ireland is one of the best. The magdelene laundries are a true horror story from Ireland.. this is mixed with Irish mythology. Love these characters
Another amazing Psychic Surveys book. It had me hooked from the beginning as did all the others. I never want they series to end. Great story telling by the author once again. Look forward to reading the next book.
Another great book by Shani Struthers. Her winding in of actual historical events with her characters created an explosive plot twist at the end (no pun intended!)

Absolutely brilliant. Couldn't put it down Ruby and co deliver again with so many twists and turns. Heartbreaking in places and so many lives intersecting and new characters who you get to love and loath in equal measure. Another brilliant read from Shani and lovely to catch up with Jed my favourite ghost dog ever 😊
