My father was a complicated man.
The world knew him as a criminal who consorted with other, worse criminals. To me, he was my savior—the man who'd rescued a scared, orphaned little girl. He'd taken me in when I had no one. Duty bound, I became the woman he wanted me to be.

Powerful. Respected. Resourceful.
The Mediator. The Dove.

Strictly speaking I was criminal, too, only I didn’t consort, I commanded a team of assassins—though I preferred to call them mercenaries--It sounded less nefarious, less criminal, and more palatable. Two words that meant the same thing-- Men who at my call would do my bidding. I lived in the grey, in the shadows. I kept the darkness at bay, acting on behalf of the good people of the world who didn’t deserve anarchy to spill out from the underbelly of society. I was on the right side of evil.

Or so I thought.

The mentor I trusted, a man who alongside my father taught me the skills I needed to survive, turned out to be nothing more than a greedy traitor.

With no choice I continued to play their game. Only, I changed the rules.

Unfortunately, that led me straight to the one person I’d done everything in my power to avoid—Zane “Viper” Lewis. I knew his secret. The one thread of the intricate web he’d flawlessly woven that could ruin everything he’d built. I was prepared to keep his secret in exchange for help.

But as with all things Viper, nothing was simple. He had other plans and my life went spiraling out of control.
Life-altering lies and deceit.

The kind that tore your soul apart and killed your spirit.
With nothing left, once again I changed the rules.

I was the mediator. The fixer. The student who had learned really freaking well how to play the game. And it was damn time they all learned—with their last breaths—just who they made me into.

The fatal flaw: Easton Spears. The man I never should’ve let in. But I needed to know what it felt like to be loved. Just once, I wanted to know what it was like having someone see me, the real me, not the Mediator or Dove, but Nebraska Michaels. I wanted it so desperately I gave him what he asked for—my heart. In return, he showed me a world I didn’t know existed.

A world I'd have to give up everything to keep.

Confusing?

Loved it but must admit that it took me a few chapters to get to grips with who was who and what I needed to remember from previous book. A shame a short prefix wasn't available to get me into the swing of the book. I always award five stars to Rileys books but as I've said, I was totally confused at the start. Once I got into it, it was back to Rileys brilliance.

I have been with Zane Lewis since the Red Team, and with each series, you can't help but love him more. What's really interesting in this statement is he is not the main character in this book. But this book is so much more--this book is family. And family is the theme of Easton. And, honestly, it's one of the most touching I've read by Riley.

Nebraska has lived in lies all her life. Now, through a series of strategic maneuvers, she has become entangled with Zane Lewis, Z-Corps, the Silver team, and specifically Easton. Her and Easton's story encompasses the team, and she learns a lot from them all. But there is the signature banter that any fan of Riley Edwards has come to love. There's the brotherhood, the camaraderie, and the high jinx. But when it's time for the team to show up and take care of business, they are all there. This time, that team includes Nebraska. There are surprises in this book and possibilities of a future we can't see yet. But one thing is sure: we haven't seen the last of Zane Lewis's crazy family, and thank goodness for that. In the meantime, we get delightful books like Easton and what's coming from the Silver Team to keep us happy.

If you like a tightrope adventure, a romance with an alpha male who is all cinnamon roll when it comes to his woman, and a woman tough enough to fight her own battles but soft enough to love her alpha guy--then Easton is a book for you.

Thank you, Riley Edwards, for the eArc; these opinions are my own.

I’ve read a few of Edwards’ early books. None in this particular series. So I came in with zero background to the characters. It took me almost a quarter of the book to understand Zane wasn’t really the bad guy, and not until halfway through could I figure out what was going on.

Most books of this style have back and forth chapters with the two protagonists perspectives, but this time it was sooo confusing. I never knew who I was reading about for the first two pages of each chapter.

And a petty complaint: I’m not military or an operative. Would it kill you to spell out all the acronyms???

Generally, there’s way too much going on, there are major plot holes, too many characters, and underdeveloped main characters - I liked Nebraska enough but she didn’t get to do anything except be a damsel in distress. Easton deserves what she calls him in most instances.

The only two characters who intrigued me were Badger and Cash. I want to know their stories.

I did finish the book just to see how it ended. Anticlimactic in some ways.

I felt like I wasted my time reading this. It’s my first book from Riley, so I came in not knowing anything about the characters or team.

I was disappointed. I came thinking there was going to be action and more, but instead was greeted with nothing but conversation. I felt like all the characters did was be in safe houses, talk it alllll out and have meetings. We only got a bit of action towards the end for one page…. I wanted to see Dove be the strong FMC she was made out to be in the synopsis of the book. However, we didn’t get to see that at all.

If @Riley Edwards would quit with the couple calling each other "baby" on page 1, her books will be among my re-read shelf always. But I kept cringing everytime I read Easton calling nebraska "babe".... Dude you just met her..... Really...

I had a hard time getting into this book as I couldn’t feel the relationship between Easton and Nebraska. She just seemed emotionally detached in my opinion.

Riley Edwards delivers another heart-pounding installment with "Easton," a story that seamlessly blends suspense, intrigue, and a romance that will leave you breathless. Nebraska Michaels, known as The Mediator or Dove, is a character who commands respect, leading a team of mercenaries in a world where the lines between right and wrong are perpetually blurred. Raised in the shadows by a father who saved her and a mentor who betrayed her, Nebraska is a force to be reckoned with—a woman who has learned to navigate the treacherous waters of power and deception with unmatched skill.

However, her world is turned upside down when she crosses paths with Zane "Viper" Lewis and, more significantly, with Easton Spears. Easton is everything she never knew she needed—a steady, unwavering presence who sees beyond her hardened exterior to the vulnerable woman beneath. Their chemistry is electric, but what truly sets this story apart is the way Edwards weaves the theme of family throughout the narrative. Not just the family you're born into, but the one you choose—one built on trust, loyalty, and love. As Nebraska grapples with the life-altering revelations and the dangerous path she must tread, Easton and the Z-Corps team show her what it truly means to belong. "Easton" is not just a love story; it's a tale of redemption, trust, and the ultimate sacrifice for those you love. With expertly crafted suspense, unforgettable characters, and the signature camaraderie that Riley Edwards fans have come to adore, this book is a must-read for anyone who craves a gripping, emotionally charged story.

I have been reading Riley Edwards books ever since I discovered her Red Team series. I am a huge fan of romantic suspense and Easton is her latest in the Silver Team series. Easton Spears was a featured supporting character in Theo, the first book in the series. He's a great character, smart, witty, funny and easy natured. I was thrilled that he was getting his story. Easton's eye is captured from the beginning of the story by Nebraska Michaels. She's an operative as well but no one is quite sure where her alliances lie. Nebraska has been trained since she was a child on being the best mediator there can be. Her father raised her alone after her mother passed away. He was former CIA and trained her to be one of the best. When a fellow operator seems to be bent on creating chaos, Nebraska approaches Zane and his teams for assistance. What happens next is a lot of secrets coming to the surface and a lot of internal soul searching on Nebraska's part to discover who she really is on the inside when she's not the operator code name "Dove". Easton was a fine story however it really doesn't have a lot of suspense. Not a lot of action until the last few chapters of the book. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. Riley Edwards is a good writer but this book isn't one of my favorites even though it contains some of my favorite characters written by her. There just wasn't enough action for me. Like all the other books in the series, Easton was written from dual POV and has plenty of steamy scenes.

Easton and Nebraska

This book felt a lot different from other Riley Edwards books I’ve read. It was full of spy games and secrets while still bringing the intensity and action I was expecting. There was the perfect amount of romance thrown in with smoking chemistry and witty banter. It was a great addition to the series.

Easton and Nebraska had a pretty insta love romance. They may not have realized that their heightened feelings towards each other were love at first, but because of their circumstances they figured it out pretty quickly. Easton had to work to show Nebraska how good they could be together because she had been taught that love was a weakness, but with the help of his team and Z Corps, Easton showed Nebraska what a family should look like.

I liked the way Easton supported Nebraska. She was an independent woman who could hold her own, and Easton let her down that while having her back. He let Nebraska make her own decisions and only stepped in when she asked him to. He was her calm in the storm.

I loved how involved Zane was in this story. He was a part of some of the biggest secrets being kept and brought his own brand of humor to the story. I also liked that we got to know more about Easton’s teammates.

Overall a great read. It kept me entertained the whole time and had some great twists. I can’t wait for more from the Silver Team series!

This is book 2 in the Silver Team series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone but I would read the previous book along with the last 3 books in Blue Team as these characters are all introduced in those books. And now we get Easton's book! This book is more about spies and the things the CIA and their compatriots do than the normal action packed books we are used to. But I loved it! Nebraska (Dove) is this person who at first I wasn't sure about. And I really thought she was some sort of double agent. But then you get her back story, and it all makes sense! I loved her character and how much she has had to put aside in her life. How much she has already dealt with and will deal with, but she is strong and capable. And even though she knows there are things that she shouldn't do, in order to complete her mission she does them anyway. Because she knows that some things are just the right thing to do. I loved how Easton always has her back and tries to cushion the blows that he knows are coming for her. I loved how their story played out, how much they come to care for each other. And how he shows Nebraska what a true family is vs what she has lived with most of her life. Throw in the big thing that Zane has been hiding for YEARS, and I was completely sucked in! I need stories for that too! I can't wait to see where else this series takes us! And I definitely need stories for Smith and Cash is KING!

What is this book? So much disappointing thing wrapped in one.

First:
If you're not following from Red, Blue, and whichever color there is, this is a very very confusing book. The characters interconnected with every other characters in another series, it's hard to follow. Surprising, considering previous book about Theo was very good.

Second:
So complicated. Maybe the author wanted some real world military problem, but for me who never been or touch with military knowledge (not to mention not US citizen) it's non-sense! The more I read the more I don't follow and the ending not ending any question I have. For example: What is exactly Pidge's job, and what the hell is Black team supposed to do? Why is this Black thingy supposed to stay secret? I just don't get it!

Third:
Here we have supposedly badass FMC. BUT NONE OF THE CHAPTER SHOWED HOW BADASS SHE IS! We only got a bit chunk of the past, where she's supposed to be a very capable ninja assassin-level skill, yet from the beginning to the end, she's doing nothing but being closed off.

Fourth:
WTH didn't Pidge tried to get this bratva's enforcer killed for last 20 years? OMG is she really had badass reputation?

Fifth:
Okay, Nebraska started to open up. But seriously, if you're act certain ways for 20 years it's not gonna be that fast to act different way with only several weeks/months. It doesn't make any sense!

In summary, this book doesn't make any sense at all.

"Was that a threat or you talkin' dirty to me?'

I love the attitude and fire that Nebraska constantly throws at Easton, right from the moment they meet she has far more attitude with him than anyone else, and whilst she may not realise it or understand it.... it's because her heart knows she is safe with him, he's her one, which her soul senses...even when her training and her brain refuse to accept it! Her training breaks your heart, but equally it means she's a quick study, so when Easton and Zane explain "family" and then back that up every time with unwavering support and banter....she catches on quickly! Unfortunately she is surrounded by secrets and we all know just how deadly secrets can be.
Easton is.... WOW... he's possessive, protective and growly, but also understanding, encouraging and supportive. He is happy to let her fight her own battles, but stands by her side a silent support, ready to step in if she asks. He calls her on her shit, makes her face the truth when she would rather run and reiterates love and family every time she forgets and retreats behind her walls.
We have only just met Silver team, but here we are introduced to another team too, lots of fireworks, questions, more secrets and maybe some sparks too?
A fantastic addition to the series and Z Corps, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

I can never deny that I'm a big ol Riley Edwards fan. She's the only author that I still keep on auto-buy, or pre-buy. None of her stories have ever disappointed me, except in small ways.

The leads are awesome. Nebraska (whose name is a bit over the top, frankly) is a big badass who has spent her life being trained as a great negotiator. She's also not afraid to arm up and justifyingly take down someone who betrays her or perpetrates a horrific crime. Through all this, she's denied herself friends, relationships, and emotions. The male lead, Easton, is equally bad associated and naturally smoking hot. (As in all Riley Edwards books, EVERYONE is smoking hot.) He also has some damage from previous work experiences and hasn't dealt with love relationships. Their meet up and subsequent relationship is another sweet/sexy/passionate thing where RE excels.every time.

I always love that when a RE male lead goes down, he falls super hard and is all in. And that's where I do differ a little bit with RE. The male leads are all in so much that it becomes hard to believe even in a romance. While I adore the speechifyin' and bold proclamation, they do go over the top. And Easton's character is pretty guilty of that.

Otherwise, this is another strong story with action, some detailed complexity, and a good storyline. And I'm anxious as always to read the next book!

This was such a good book. Nebraska is one tough cookie. She knows that she is in over head, doesn't want to lie to Zane good things never come of that, and she doesn't want to expose Zane's secrets. That is her biggest concern, getting Zane to help with out outing him for things his teams don't know about. she needs his help not causing problems for him. They don't call him Viper for nothing.
Easton is drawn to this fiery woman who isn't telling them all she knows. He isn't sure what she's hiding but he knows its something. He's impressed with her ability to handle Zane and not wince. He is drawn to her but not sure if he can trust her or what his Spidey senses are saying when it comes to her.
These two are an awesome pair. He sees when she's crumbling and holds her up, he will have her back and lend her strength when she needs it.
Easton just like all the other stories written by Riley Edwards are enchanting in that you loose yourself in the story catching up with the members of Z corps and enjoying the journey of the current main characters. Great read as always but I wouldn't start with this one is you have never read any of the Z corp books, start at the beginning the Red team series.

Another great addition to the Silver team with Easton, one kick but woman, Nebraska and we can’t forget the rest of his team and Big Daddy aka Dimples, the one and only Zane Lewis. Nebraska needs Zane’s help to stop a traitor but what she doesn’t know is that there is more behind the scenes and it revolves around her. Easton is assigned to accompany her as she lays a trap for one of her mentors and learns there is more to the beautiful woman, and he can’t resist the attraction and pull. The hits keep coming for Nebraska and she learns that having someone at her back, is more than she ever thought was possible…she just has to learn how to trust and realize family will do whatever it takes to protect those they love.
A great read with suspense, twists and turns, surprises, steam and great characters. I couldn’t put it down till I was done, the banter between Zane and Silver team….priceless and the little to no drama between Nebraska and Easton as Nebraska learns what it means to trust and Easton with his patience and love….LOVED IT!!

Love, love, love it!! I can hardly wait to read Riley’s books when they come out!! Always such a great storyline and amazing characters! Easton and Nebraska are some of my favorites.

What is family? True family? Nebraska never knew. She was the loner, the best at her job but not so much her feelings. Sent to meet with the infamous Zane, she had no idea how her life was about to change. Secrets told that couldn’t be untold left her reeling. The life she thought she knew was not at all the truth. And meeting Easton was a blow to her fragile heart that she was none too happy about it at first. Oil meet water as the saying goes. She desperately needed a steady in her life and that was where she found Easton. And big, bad Easton fell hard and fast for little dove. He knew he would do whatever it took to keep her safe and happy.

This book was so sexy yet, at times, beyond hilarious when the guys were together. I love this group of guys and their smack talk!! Truly an amazing story of family and sacrifices made to protect those you love.

Five stars all around for Easton, Book 2 in Silver Team by Riley Edwards. I’ve been through thick and thin with the Z-Corps team. From Linc and Jasmin all the way to Theo and Bridget. I’ve been a little bit in love with Zane since we first met him back and Nightstalker, and in serious girl-like with Kira as Zane 2.0. And NONE of that prepared me for Easton and Nebraska. I will admit, it took me a minute to pick up in the story and remember where we were at. But by chapter 3, I was in it and there was no putting this book down. Zane always wanted to create a family and over the years he has done just that. We have gotten glimpses of it up until now but this book has family stamped all over it. Not the family you are born into but the one you find and make your own. My heart broke for all that Nebraska has endured…and her life hasn’t been overly hard…it just hasn’t been filled with trust or love. She’s been taught to fear those emotions that make life most worth living. Easton draws her out but it is Zane and the rest who truly show her what it is to be a family…to have real trust in those around you, not based on fear but respect and loyalty. And that my friends, is worth the price of reading. Not to mention we get all the antics, alpha posturing, action-packed Z-Corps we know and love. Why wouldn’t you want to dive in? Well done Riley and I’m definitely fingers crossed a new color means more books!

so much content….

I adored this book (fairly sure I have said that a hundred times about Riley Edwards books…)

The Silver boys bring such a different vibe to Z Corps, and with each story more and more unpacks about them and neatly brings in more and more about the other characters we know and love too.

I adored the Easton / Nebraska love story. I am a sucker for a bada$$ heroine and the author always delivers them in the BEST way! Add in the alpha protective teddy bear that is Easton and I melted…

I loved how Easton gave Nebraska everything so easily, he didn’t fight it at all and stuck with her even when she pushed back hard. He absolutely believed and trusted her and loved all her sides. He truly saw her and went about protecting her but not shielding her.

I can’t get enough of Zane and the motley crew he has assembled around him. KK comes even more into her own and each group interaction fills my heart with love and humour

Couldn’t be happier the world seems to have expanded some more and I can’t wait to see Smith take the leap in the next book

the FMC is named Nebraska if that tells you anything…

I’m not sure what is going on with it Ms. Edwards, but her latest books seem like they were quickly written and rushed out.

There’s certainly no editing any longer and definitely not even proofreading. One guy goes from being named Zenin to Zenith.

Anyway, putting plot holes and so many other things that don’t make sense aside, author missed the mark on the FMC. She’s just a jerk with the emotional quotient of a 13 year old girl. None of her rejoinders are witty or even necessary. How the MMC loves her nasty attitude is beyond me. But he sure becomes a simp for it (ew).

And she talks about how good she is at what she does. She knows everything and has calculated every possibility…and then proves she knows nothing and is actually terrible at her job.

Last thing I’ll say…in conversations where there are multiple people involved, frequently, it’s hard to tell who’s talking, even from context. There are long convos where the author doesn’t indicate who is speaking, so you have to guess. No bueno.

Another great edition to the Z Corps world

I didn't realise until I read this how much I missed the world of Z Corps, the found family, the banter and Zane Lewis himself. Easton was another lovable alpha male you couldn't help but love, I particularly enjoyed his care and patience though with Nebraska who was lost in a world she simply wasn't taught to understand. I love her character and was fascinated by her learning all these new things that are so basic to so many, she was up there with all the other queens Riley writes in this series. The storyline of this book was really interesting and kept being hooked throughout. The usually ridiculousness from Zane was in this book as well as the funny banter from the amazing found family that is Z Corps. Riley Edwards writes an amazing romantic suspense book and I haven't read a book in any series I haven't devoured this was no exception.

Pure Magic

“People say that love comes from the heart. It doesn’t; you feel it in your soul. That’s when you know it’s real.“

Riley Edwards has been a one-click author to me since I first discovered her and she never disappoints. I mean - with quotes like this how can you not love it?
Easton is packed with action, intrigue, spice and OH MY WOW OKAY WHAT THE FUDGE IS HAPPENING AND WHY DID I NEVER SUSPECTED THIS AND OH MY FREAKING GOSH RILEY WHAT DID YOU DO???!!!

Seriously, this book - major plottwist and I cannot wait to see what’s happening next.
The romance between Easton and Nebraska is off the charts; her whole life turns to ssssj so fast and he is there to catch her - and he does not disappoint. I love a hero who knows whats he wants and who goes after it -> her.
This story is Riley Edwards magic as always - it’s about family, trust and above all. Love.
Thank you for another great story, cannot wait for the next 🩶

More Zane please!

Make no mistake, this very much Easton and Nebraska's story and oh what a story it is. Zane however, is both comic relief and the love sensei as only he can be. "Fudgeycakes" is all I have to say, priceless. Back to Nebraska and Easton, her appearance at Z Corps reveals a deep secret of Zane's but it's Nebraska's world that comes crashing down when the truth comes out. Easton is her anchor, protector and of course lover. The men and women of Z Corps help her find her footing in this new normal. Along the way, they put down a dangerous threat. In other words, just another day at Z Corps. Can't wait for the rest of Silver team's stories and then can we please have Black Team's stories??!! Nebraska's frenemy Stella will definitely give Dutch a run for his money and I'm here for it.

Easton

Wow! Riley did it again! FANTASTIC read! This story is about Easton and Nebraska. She was basically thrusted on to the Silver Team by her father. Apparently she has history with Zane. We learn there is another team in Zane's company - the Black team, which Nebraska was sort of part of. Easton takes a shining to her and their relationship starts out kind of rocky. Nebraska has a hard time when she finds out details about her parents. The ending gets intense when the bad guy takes her father while her mother tries to save him. Once the team takes care of the bad guy, much to Nebraska's chargin, this couple can work on their happy end. I love Kira trying to get quotes for the females to match Zane's quotes for the guys. FANTASTIC job Riley! I would highly recommend this book!

No one writes found family and touch her and die partners quite like Riley Edwards and Easton did not disappoint on either front. The Z Corp family was in full force.

Nebraska will do almost anything but she doesn't want to ask Zane Lewis and Z Corp for help. Nebraska goes anyway and ends up with two Z Corp following her around. She can not shake the way Easton looks or the way he makes her feel. Easton then goes on to show her what family is and how that trust and support make all of the difference.

This story picks up where the last one ended but overall it is a new storyline. Riley explains all the important points needed and delivers a HEA.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A Gripping Tale of Deception, Power, and Love

This book is a masterful blend of suspense, intrigue, and romance. Nebraska Michaels, aka The Mediator or Dove, is a criminal with a conscience, walking the fine line between good and evil.

Her mentor's betrayal sets off a chain reaction of events that forces her to confront her past and team up with the dangerous Zane "Viper" Lewis.

Meeting Easton Spears changes everything and makes her want things she never thought she wanted or would have the chance to have. His support and trust is amazing.

Overall, this book is a must-read for fans of suspenseful and intense stories with strong female leads and complex characters. The writing is excellent, and the plot is expertly crafted, making it a hard-to-put-down page-turner.

Easton is the second book in the "Silver Team" series and I cannot wait for book three. This book is the story of Easton Spears and Nebraska Michaels along with a heavy dose of Zane Lewis, gotta love him!! Nebraska is living the life her adoptive father taught her and at this point in time she feels like her life is wrapped up in lies and deceit, after all she is the Mediator, the fixer, the Dove. Her father wants her to go to Zane Lewis for help with a particular job and that is the last thing that she wants to do, she knows the Viper and what he is capable of. Since Easton works for Zane, the two of them meet and you will have to read it to find out the rest!
Will Zane help her, will she finally open up to Easton and answer his questions? Get ready for a wild ride with lots of secrets being revealed and twist and turns along the way.
Five "I'm not trackin, baby" stars only because it wouldn't let me give more!!

Negotiator Nebraska “Dove’ Michaels isn’t pleased with the directive of her latest task because she knows the players too well. But that’s the job, know the players, the game, the wants and the way out. Easton Spears was desperately in lust the second Nebraska walked in the room and threw a non-existent apology and a ‘bury the hatchet offer from, enemy, Maddon Judd, on Zane’s table. Zane’s refusal immediately changes the plan and Dove finds she doesn’t know what she thought she knew.

Unfortunately, it took a minute to get involved in this outing for this reader. One thing was clear, Easton was at most a secondary character in his outing, which was really Nebraska’s onion to peel, looking at that aspect, it was a better read but still not excited
