The digital version (free on Kindle) is an excerpt from a larger print version. The articles are interesting as they delve into the symbolic meaning and everyday relevance of each of the Yokai as well as their mythology. The illustrations are gorgeous, being a mixture of classical Japanese art and modern manga conventions. I would have wanted more. A good read, but only a taster.

Good reference material for Japanese Yokai

I am a big MYTHOLOGY freak and anything providing insight into other cultures is always welcome. Especially considering I'm on disability and my funds are limited the availability of free books to my Amazon Kindle is much appreciated.
