Rate this book
It’s time to shine light on the darkness within to reveal the sacred mysteries of you.

Most of us never learned to cultivate a state of inner harmony and flow. With little guidance we do the best we can to keep up in a fast-paced, competitive world. Push it down and soldier-on has been the default for so many. But this strategy that sees us disconnect, distract or shy away from the uncomfortable sides of life has dire consequences.

That which we sweep out of conscious awareness become our shadows. These shadow aspects act as powerful unconscious forces that hold us back. Self-sabotage, unhealthy drives, and dysfunctional behaviours are just some of the ways these repressed forces can affect us.

Presenting simple, yet profound information, Christina provides the understanding and skills needed to confidently build your own unique shadow work practice. Equipped with practical tools and heart-based strategies, the art of nurturing an inner state of clarity, resilience and peace becomes accessible to all.

I am a writer, an artist, a creative enthusiast, and an inner world explorer. I was born in Montreal Quebec Canada. Now I live with my life partner and son in a rainforest pocket in the hills behind Coffs Harbour, Australia. I spend my time playing, creating, growing and sharing.

My journey has been about personal alchemy ... exploring the mysteries of my soul and my environment, and learning to bring all aspects, the light and the dark, together with the transcending ingredient... love. The more I uncover and nurture the wounded aspects of my being, the more whole and grounded I feel and the more my outer world reflects the magic, wonder and love I have discovered inside.

Sometimes books come at just the right time. In fact, this is the magic of books - they often do.

This book, too, came for me at just the right time, when I was ripe to hear and absorb at least some of its messages.

I'm now practising some of the exercises, with the awareness that Christina Lavers has passed on and this, to me, is the mark of a good book, that is, its ability to transform your life, practice or thinking in some way. In this way, reviews are fraught as they are just as much a reflection of the reader as the author.

So the book gains five stars from me. Perhaps it's been birthed into the world at the right moment, and more people would do well to grapple with their shadows. Just as Beowulf grapples with the monster in the deep pool of his subconscious.
