Handcuffed to my spitfire coworker? Not in the employee handbook. Ending up in bed with her? Also not part of the plan.

But damn, it felt good.

I’m Luca Turner, rising star in advertising and king of no-strings-attached. My one rule? Never mix business with pleasure. Especially not with Liv Lancaster, the whip-smart, firecracker rival who matches me jab for jab.

She says we’re a disaster waiting to happen—and she’s right.
She says our ambition will always outrun our feelings—and she’s right.
She says she’s not cut out for love...

She’s wrong.

Liv is in my blood, setting my body ablaze and making me crave things I never thought I wanted—like a future with her.

But when a promotion pits us against each other, I’m forced to chase my career or fight for the woman who’s already stolen my heart.

Can I convince Liv to take a chance on us, or will our competitive streaks tear us apart for good?

If you love enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and sizzling office romance with all the feels, this standalone story will leave you breathless—and craving more. Consider yourself warned.

Overall, the story was endearing and heartfelt; however, what really bothered me about this book was its one-sided nature. Luca constantly tried to convince Liv to give their connection a chance and was willing to sacrifice whatever it took, yet he had just as much to lose as Liv did. Liv seemed to spend more time punishing Luca for the ghosts of her past that haunted and taunted her. Each accusation was fueled by resentment towards someone who had previously hurt, deceived, or used her.

Granted, Luca was no saint, but even when he was honest, open, and vulnerable, she refused to move beyond her past and truly see and hear him. Although everything resolved in the end, the story wrapping up with the promised HEA, the dramatic change in Luca and the overall portrayal of Liv cast a shadow over the rest of the book. The emotional disconnect with the characters remained until the end, and despite the sweet conclusion, the damage had already been done.

This story might not have been for me, but it could be perfect for someone who enjoys an insta-love tale featuring a strong female protagonist and a love-stricken male protagonist willing to sacrifice everything for love.

So good and so much fun to read!!

In the highly competitive corporate world of advertising and marketing, we are introduced to two intelligent, aggressive advertising adversaries who work for the same company, competing for recognition as the best their company has to offer. For a year, Liv (having been at the company much longer) and Luca (having joined just a year ago) have butted heads, argued over ideas and heated closing deals, while both pursued the upcoming job opening of Director of Marketing. Both claimed to hate the other but you know what they say about love and hate? Suffice to say that due to circumstances out of their control, Liv and Luca were forced to face their hate, fears, niggling undercurrents, present day challenges and their possible futures and somehow come out the other side with hearts in tact and life looking positive. Oh, and that job opening? That’s what makes Honey Mavryck the wonderful author that she is … you just HAVE to read this story!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

This book was adorable, the characters made me smile and reminded me of people I could relate to. I loved that Liv struggled accepting the relationship as someone who had put her career first for so long it would have been a major character flaw.

Overall readthis book it is cute, fluffy, not majorly spicy and a nice read

This is a short sweet romance between two employees vying for the same promotion. They have been at each other's throats for awhile and nothing has been resolved. At a company party someone handcuffs them together and wow what comes next. The story includes characters that you feel like you have met before. Although this is a quick read the storyline keeps getting better and you will finish in one sitting. Tha author writes all the characters with sass and snark it it really makes the story flow nicely. What happenened...did they get the handcuffs off quickly or did they have to work together? It is really a well done look at two competitors. I enjoyed this book.

Wow, what a book. Liv & Luca definitely always had a thing for each other. It was just a matter of time before it came to life and would not stop! LOL. Then comes the promotion….. man do things go haywire 😅, brought back around on the most sweetest way!

The book was short and enjoyable for a quick read. I felt it needed more content, more of a story to it besides their office romance. It’s a decent read for something quick.

It wasn’t a standout for me, but it wasn’t terrible either. Just a light, enjoyable read.
It’s a cute, slightly cheesy story that’s perfect for a quick escape.

I didn’t really like this. The beginning was two adults fighting like children over a piece of cake. The middle was alright. The ending was eye roll inducing.

This was a fun short read for me. The beginning was great with a great dynamic of the main characters, but after the initial connection, I couldn’t get vested into their story. It all happened so quickly, and felt like it was all very rushed and timelines didn’t make sense. Overall, a fun short read and would recommend for something easy as a good palette cleanser.

Honestly, it felt too much like something I have read before. The whole handcuffs beginning really didn't make it for me.

Their whole relationship felt too much like "the hating game"
