Attorney Kyra Gibson has a lot on her mind this Thanksgiving. She’s been working long hours on a multi-billion dollar corporate merger, her family is visiting from London, and her relationship with former police detective Tarek Collins is heating up. When she and her companions are invited by her aristocrat client to attend a formal gala at a historic mansion on Chappaquiddick, Kyra reluctantly agrees.
But Chappy is more than just a playground for the wealthy. It’s a wild, remote place cut off from civilization. When the first body is found, the occupants are worried. Was it an accident or murder? When a second guest is brutally killed and then a third, there’s no doubt and the guests fearfully turn on each other. They are locked in a house with a murderer picking them off one-by-one. Kyra, her best friend Chase Hawthorn, and Tarek must survive the night and find the killer, or one of them could be next.
Raemi Amanda Ray is the author of the Martha's Vineyard Murders, set on Martha’s Vineyard. Her travels to the island and around the world inspire her stories. She lives in Boston.
Another brilliant story in this series this time Kyra and Tarek find themselves solving a few murders when they are invited to a Thanksgiving dinner at the historic mansion on Chappaquiddick but who is the killer and will Kyra survive this one.
Kyra did not want to attend this dinner but when her boss has come from London and her client insists that she be there, she and her friends attend on Thanksgiving Day, Chappy is meant for the very wealthy and it is cut off and can be very dangerous when the wind blows and the weather and tides move in, when the first body is found at the bottom of the servants stairs, they are all wondering if it was an accident or murder vital papers for a take-over are signed as soon as they declare the victim is dead, this is a worry and off course having Julie and Wes there adds to the tense atmosphere knowing how much they dislike Kyra, but when a second body is found and the internet also goes no phone lines they are totally cut off, the pressure builds and Tarek gets everyone into one room but which one of them is the killer?
This is a page turner of a story the tension builds with each turn of the page, how many victims will there be? Will her friends Chase and his friend Gerry and her aunt and uncle all survive? How will Tarek and herself come out of this one? This is a must read story that I highly recommend to any reader who loves a classic who done it. I loved this one and look forward to many more mysteries on Martha’s Vineyard, thank you MS Ray for another fabulous story.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my copy to read and review.
It’s Thanksgiving time and Kyra has been working long hours on a merger. Her family is visiting, and she was invited to a gala at a historic mansion by her client. The mansion is on Chappaquiddick, and it’s very remote, cut off from civilization. First one is injured, then there’s one body, then a second, and then a third. Someone is murdering the guests and they are all stuck in this house, away from everything. Who is murdering people, why, and will anyone else be killed?
This is my favorite installment of the Martha’s Vineyard Murders! Ray has really perfected the locked door trope with this book, creating a suspenseful atmosphere that keeps you wanting more. The tension slowly builds and the murders become more surprising. I love Kyra! I love how her mind works and how she is able to sit back and really access the situation. I guess that’s the lawyer in her and in me.
When it comes time to figure out who the killer is, I certainly did not guess. I actually did not have a guess at all. I couldn’t figure it out! That’s one of the aspects of this book that I loved the most! Writing the characters in such a way that I can’t figure it out, not even have a guess, makes me say that Ray is such a talented writer.
I highly recommend this book and all of the Martha’s Vineyard Murder series books! They are great for any thriller/mystery reader.
This is the third book in this series. Definitely can be read as a standalone. I love that it was written around Thanksgiving. Most holiday books are about Christmas so this was a refreshing surprise.
It’s definitely a page turner filled with twist and turns has you wondering just how many victims are they going to be. I did enjoy that it was set on Martha’s Vineyard. Just so much happens in a really short span of time. So it definitely keeps you reading.
Thank you Tule publishing for allowing me to read this book in return for my honest review.
Widow’s Walk is the third book in Raemi A. Ray’s fabulous series, Martha’s Vineyard Murders. The book is mainly set on Chappaquiddick on Thanksgiving. The main characters, Kyra Gibson, Tarek Collins and Chase Hawthorne return in this book as with the first two. Like the first two books, this one was very exciting and had lots of suspense, surprises and twists. Kyra is now living in the US and working remotely for her law practice in the UK. After her summer visit, she ended up staying. She and Tarek have become a couple and he has mostly moved into her house. As the book opens, Kyra’s Aunt Ali and Uncle Cam are visiting from London. Kyra has been working on a corporate merger as one of the attorneys. All the parties involved will be attending a house party on Thanksgiving day. The owner of the company, her client, has rented a mansion on Chappy to finalize the deal and celebrate the holiday.
The group travels by ferry to the island in terrible weather conditions. The staff hired for the event includes a handyman and his mother that Kyra had a bad experience with in her earlier visits. After she reported what he had done to her, he lost his family business and he and his mother viewed her as an enemy. The house was an architectural gem with somewhat dangerous stairs and passageways. The lighting was also poor. The group started with cocktails and then were served a holiday dinner. One of the elderly guests involved in the merger was not happy with the food and was vocal about it. It was determined that due to the weather everyone was stuck in the house.
After Kyra’s dress and shoes are ruined at the dinner table, she returns to her room to change her clothes. She realizes she can’t find her aunt so they begin a search for her. They locate her outside in the cold, rain and winds. It is determined she was hit in the head and has lost consciousness. They bring her inside where one of the guests who is an ER doctor, treats her. She regains consciousness but can’t tell them what happened. When Kyra and Tarek are looking for supplies, the elderly woman is found murdered on the stairs. Tarek instructs all of the guests and staff to go and all stay in one room since they don’t know who has done this. It is discovered that 3 people are missing. They group together in 2’s and 3’s to periodically search for the missing people and also bring supplies to the room where they are. During the trips out to look, additional bodies are found. It is apparent that the killer is one of the people in the house.
This was a terrific book to read. I loved the whole series but this book was my favorite. I liked all the characters. They were genuine and easy to like. I was happy that Kyra and Tarek had gotten together as I thought they made a great couple. I had narrowed down who I didn’t believe was the murderer but there were still many left that I thought could have done it. Raemi did an excellent job with the flow of the book, the suspense and the character interactions. This is a 5 star book I’m happy to recommend. I hope there will be additional books added to this series as it is so enjoyable to read.
I was fortunate to receive this ARC of the book from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
Widow's Walk by Raemi A. Ray is the third book in Martha's Vineyard Murders series, but each book in the series features a separate, unrelated murder story. However, if you want to experience the beautiful character development, start from the beginning. Why am I recommending the book and the whole series before discussing the story? because it has everything a murder mystery novel should have.
Unlike A Chain of Pearls or The Wraith's Return, the timeline of this book spans only one day, which makes the story more intriguing. With each passing page, not only does Kyra, but even I, feel a strong desire for the day to end. Kyra, her friends, and family arrive at a mansion to attend a business Thanksgiving dinner hosted by her boss. And as the tagline in the book cover says, "It's a dinner party. And death is on the menu", let me just say, the main course is murder.
The murders were so chilling, and walking down the mansion's hallways felt truly scary. It was so realistic that I wanted to get out of that mansion as soon as possible, even though when I am sitting in my house safe and secure. I would say this book definitely gives that bone-chilling scary vibes.
The plot kept me on edge throughout, and the twists were excellent. I didn't expect a single thing that happened in the book. I had to admit it, I guessed the killer wrong, twice. Again, it is a very brilliant cover design.
Kyra and Tarek were so good together. The understanding between them was so heartwarming. My heart skipped a beat when he said to Kyra, "You're going to be the death of me." Ahh! I love them so much. I missed Chase in this book as he had only a few scenes (compared to the second book). Finally, we meet Kyra's aunt and she is so radiant. I also loved Gerry's character; he was so caring toward Chase, who truly deserved it.
If you love a gripping locked room mystery, Widow's Walk delivers a chilling, fast-paced plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. With unexpected twists and well-developed characters, it’s a must-read for mystery lovers. Raemi A. Ray nails the suspense, making you feel like you’re trapped in the mansion with the killer. Highly recommended!!!
This is book three in this series, and the series keeps getting better and better. I think this book could be read as a standalone, but reading the entire series will answer a lot of questions for the reader. This time around, Kyra, living on Martha’s Vineyard, is hosting Friendsgiving for her aunt and uncle, as well as for Tarek, Chase, and Gerry. It was supposed to be a Thanksgiving celebration, but Kyra’s work intrudes, and she’s required to make an appearance at a formal dinner hosted by one of her clients. The dinner is to take place at Verinder House, an old house turned event venue and hotel located on nearby Chappaquiddick Island. An approaching hurricane, however, finds far fewer people attending the weekend.
I continue to love Kyra and Tarek. They’re a spectacular couple. Chase and his partner, Gerry, an ER doctor, are awesome and make a powerful team. Poor Gerry gets much more than he bargained for when he agreed to attend the event. When things take a turn for the worse, they all get far more than they anticipated.
This is a locked-in thriller. It has a gothic feel through most of the book, once everyone is on the island. Verinder House is isolated, right on the ocean. As high winds from the hurricane start blowing, accidents begin to happen, and dead bodies start to appear. This is a slow burn thriller. Little significant starts to happen before the reader reaches the fifty percent mark. That’s okay though, because the first fifty percent of the book offers a delightful look at the dynamics of Kyra, her family, and her friends. Once things start moving on the island, they don’t slow down.
This is a book about major life changes, entitlement, and mental health. I loved this book, as I have the earlier ones in the series, and I can’t wait for the next volume to appear. I highly recommend it.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher. I thank all involved for their generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
✨What it is about: Kira Gibson is invited by her aristocrat client to attend a formal gala at a historic mansion on Chappaquiddick. Shortly after she arrives, things take a sinister turn, and a body is found. Kyra and her friends try to make it out alive, while trying to find the killer. Murder’s on the menu…✨
💭My thoughts: This is book three in the Martha’s Vineyard Murders, and another good murder mystery. It can easily be read as a stand alone, however I do recommend you read the whole series in order, so you get a full perspective on the characters and their journey, and how that relates to the events of this book. It will definitely be a more enjoyable experience for you to read the books in order.
This story is another one full of amazing descriptions that make you feel like you are right there with the characters, which is something I really love in books. Raemi has a way with words, and her descriptions immerse you into the setting completely. The remote location, cut off from the rest of civilization added so much to this story. It almost felt like it was its own character. The mansion felt so creepy, and it was somewhere I would never want to stay the night in! I was at the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, and who would be the next one to die. I was determined to find out who the killer was, and actually predicted who it was correctly. The story reminded me of the board game Clue which I remember loving as a kid. This is my favorite book so far in this series.

I sat down with Raemi Rae's Widow's Walk, the third book in her reliably engaging Martha's Vineyard Murders series, and when I stood up a few hours later, I had finished the book in its entirety. It was that enjoyable and it gave me a very satisfying emotional range of of experience as I read page after page. Ms. Rae has come into her own as an author and her trajectory has been as delightful as it has been remarkable.
Ms. Rae weaves engaging stories that give the reader no choice but to turn page after page and to read chapter after chapter, with little patience for outside distractions. Widow's Walk is a well told tale of murder, but it is not the story -- although it is truly well told -- that pulls me in as much as it is the characters and their development that I find irresistible. It is all too easy to develop para-social relationships with Kyra and and Tarek, Ms. Rae's recurring main characters, and so many of the supporting characters that most readers will know. (If you are not familiar with the characters by now, check out A Chain of Pearls, the first volume in the series. Do that now and come back to this review after reading books 1 and 2!)
As a reader, the greatest experiences are when we forget we are reading and feel that we are part of the story. It has been a week since I read Widow's Walk but I still have memories of experiencing what happened in the book. I do not have memories of reading it, because I am convinced I was there, in a real place, with real people, as it happened.
The greatest praise I can give to Widow's Walk is that the last book I read cover to cover was Bram Stoker's Dracula. Widow's Walk is bloody outstanding!
I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did! The last one read more lukewarm, but I devoured this! The beginning was family/close friend holiday Thanksgiving stuff with Friendsgiving, then it turns into a mansion thriller straight out of an Agatha Christie! I wish I had been able to read this in November when I received it.
Kyra, her family and friends celebrate their Thanksgiving a day early (complete with deep-fried turkey and a windy Turkey Trot) so they can board a ferry and spend the holiday at a historic mansion, celebrating a merger Kyra's company brokered. When they arrive, things do not go smoothly, from guests with unexpected connections to flooding to multiple murders. The murderer is among them and they are sitting ducks with no escape and no way to call for help.
This really was thrilling. Kyra can be such a stick in the mud, especially during the Friendsgiving a Turkey Trot portions, but I liked her more as soon as they reached the mansion. She helped move the story along and the pacing was perfect.
I loved the thrill at the mansion, but loved the homey Thanksgiving at the start. This book had the best of both worlds. I don't think it could be read as a standalone because the character connections from the other books come up too often. I only read the second and was fine, but thought this book was 100x better than the second! I was all in. It definitely convinced me to keep going in the series.
Thank-you so much to both Raemi A. Ray and Author Marketing Experts for sending me a free reader copy and such a cute lobster kit. My daughter claimed the stickers. My review is unbiased and opinions my own.
I really enjoyed this installment from Martha's Vineyard. Raemi's writing is great, the characters follow on between the books and they are best read in order. I like the fact it follows on from book two, The Wraiths Return, Gully isn't mentioned as much in this one but this book focuses around Verinder House. A big house that's the main setting for a chilling locked room murder mystery.
Kyra and Tarek are back together, Chase is also invited to the meal but unknown to Kyra, the even was cancelled but she didn't get the memo until they'd all arrived. The Verinder House staff, although not expecting them still, put on the event as planned, just with less attendants as planned.
The tension builds up straight away when Kyra realises Wes is here also, his mother Julia is there as chef - I like that she's also in previous books - but we also meet Camilla and Tali, Wes's relatives. Tarek and Wes also have history which is apparent but not all the guests know why.
So much happens in a short space of time, guests go missing, phones and WiFi go down so they have no way to contact the rest of the island for help, bodies are uncovered and there's a big storm, hence the phones and WiFi, or so it seems!
Thanksgiving has arrived and Kyra is excited. Her family is visiting from England, and they have been invited for an exclusive dinner on a reclusive estate. Murder is definitely on the menu and as each guest is murdered, the fear is palpable. Can Kyra and her friends live through the night and unmask the killer?
Widow’s Walk is a creative mystery with many twists. From the moment I started reading Widow’s Walk, it reminded me of a classic Agatha Christie mystery. I believe Raemi A. Ray is paying homage to Dame Agatha in her own way by writing a forced proximity mystery. The premise unfurls slowly yet has a Thanksgiving vibe throughout. The suspense amps up as the first victim is discovered. I read this book until 3 am one night because I had to keep reading.
Raemi A. Ray is a brilliant mystery writer who creates unputdownable stories. Everything about this book is a feast for mystery readers. With each book, her expertise grows. I can’t wait to see what she writes next. Raemi A. Ray is an Agatha protegee who writes modern mysteries that are fresh, suspenseful, and highly entertaining.
Widow's Walk ~ Martha's Vineyard Murders #3 by Raemi A Ray
Blurb: It's a dinner party and death is on the menu!
A brilliant series that I have been following since book one and enjoyed each, it's hard to say which is a favourite as they are magnificent. I found Widow's Walk intriguing, gripping, suspenseful, emotional, relatable – and a brilliant page-turner of a story with questions of who done it!
Kyra Gibson has her family over from England for Thanksgiving, her relationship with Tarek Collins taking off, and she is invited to the historic mansion on Chappaquiddick. Whatever could happen? a murder or two?
Raemi catches the reader's interest from the start and brings them to life. I highly recommend this book to all, and would also recommend reading the series from the start. I will be rereading this book again once the series has finished. Widow's Walk is a sensational read and completely captured my attention from start to finish. It’s a really good story that shouldn’t be missed, in my opinion.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Action-packed, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Informative, Original, Page-turner, Realistic, and Wonderful characters
This is the third book in the Martha's Vineyard Murders series and I have enjoyed each and every one of them. I loved the entire series and I highly recommend all 3 books to you as well. This book is at Thanksgiving time and we have a lot of suspense, surprises, murder and twists on the menu.
Two of my favorite characters are now living together. Kyra Gibson and Tarek Collins have become a couple and he has moved into Kyra's place. Kyra is now living in the US and working remotely for the law practice in the UK. She ended up loving the area and just decided to stay after her visit. Kyra’s Aunt Ali and Uncle Cam are visiting from London.
Kyra and her friends are invited, by her aristocrat client to attend a formal gala on Thanksgiving Day at a historic mansion on Chappaquiddick. Kyra had heard rumors of that area being a playground for the rich, but she finally agreed to go. The guests had to travel by ferry to get to the island and the weather was terrible. If this is any indication of what is ahead they should have just stayed home where they were safe and warm.
Widow's Walk is another winner for Ms. Ray. It includes one of my favorite mystery tropes- a group of people stranded in an old mansion, cut off from civilization by a severe storm with a killer on the loose. Ms. Ray handles the setting perfectly and weaves a story that keeps the reader guessing from beginning to end. I didn't see the ending coming at all. I kept bouncing from one character to another, trying to determine who I thought the killer was and it turned out not to be anyone I suspected—the sign of a talented author, in my opinion. The story contains plenty of suspense, tension that is thick enough to cut with a knife, and characters that are easy to love or hate - whichever Ms. Ray decides is appropriate. If you haven't read any of the stories in the Martha's Vineyard Murders series I highly recommend that you do. Each book keeps getting better and better and I look forward to the next entry.
I received a review copy from the author via BookSirens and this review reflects my honest opinion.
This is a terrific read. This time it's more of a locked room type mystery when Kyra, Tarek and their friends and relations travel for a special dinner occasion with a client of Kyra's firm, including her boss who is over from London. The occasion is to finalise the details of a company merger.
The characters in this on the business side are nasty, very insular and self-indulgent. Things become awkward when one of the main characters shows signs of doubts about the merger. An attack of one of the guests followed by a murder soon ramps up the tension. The sense of tension throughout was palpable and the stormy backdrop which cuts them off from the mainland and old crumbling house adds to it. Kyra and her friends are so likeable that you are rooting for them from the start and when things escalate even further, I found myself fearing for all of them.
This is the second book I have read now in this series and it's turning out to be really really enjoyable. I look forward to more.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another mysterious adventure foI previously read an ARC of The Wraith's Return and I'm glad I did, these are almost but not quite standalone novels. For instance, in this book I don't recall reading an explanation of Kyra's background or how she ended up living on Martha's Vineyard. It took me a while, in this book, to really catch on to who all of the characters are and I guess I'm still not certain of Kyra's relationship to Chase. Other than that, the story was clear and interesting, the characters well developed, and the plot was intriguing. However, the reactions to some of the events seemed cold hearted beyond belief, quite unrealistic. And the feeling of native inhabitants of Martha's Vineyard to 'off islanders' seems a bit overblown at times. I'm not saying it's not the situation in reality, but I'd love to see how that reaction was developed.
This ARC was provided by the publisher and BookSirens, the opinions expressed herein are strictly my own.
From the very beginning this book was destine to keep me up at night needing to read more. Kyra and Tarek are going on a Thanksgiving adventure. What an adventure this ends up being… A mansion that is like a maze is the setting and nothing is as it seems in this place. There is secret entries to many of the rooms, there are basements with odd steps and rooms, and an off limits widows walk. Everything about this mansion is meant to keep things interesting.
Widow’s Walk is book 3 in the Martha Vineyard Murders series. It is the perfect addition to a great mystery thriller series. The characters were quirky and unique. There are quite a few new characters in this book and I was intrigued to learn about them. Each one had their own reason to murder or be murdered.
I have enjoyed all three books in this series. If you are a murder mystery reader, like myself, I recommend picking up your own copy of any of the books in this series and enjoying their story.
This book, Widow's Walk picks up from the second book where were back again on the island as a reader. This book focuses on Kyra having a dinner party and people being killed off one by one. It reminds me of one of my favorite books written by Agatha Christie and I really enjoyed the plot of this one as well. I like the description of the mansion and how there were a lot of hidden secrets involved in the house and I thought the author did a great job with writing this third book in the series. The characters are at a mansion on Martha’s Vineyard where there all invited to what the event is canceled and some characters still show up. There are several characters that are brought back from other books so I recommend reading the first one then the second and then this one, in order would help in this dealer series although you could technically read this one as a standalone.
Wow, this book has cemented Raemi Ray as one of my favorite authors. I absolutely love her approach to murder mystery writing. I love how she draws you in, introduces you to the characters, creates a calm before the storm. It is as my youngest kiddo puts it “epic”. This was a fantastically written story and I can’t recommending enough. You could read it on its own but I highly recommend you start from the beginning to get the full brilliance of the writing and character development.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys stories that create a bond with the characters and anyone who loves a good murder mystery. And the fact she was influenced by one of my favorite movies (and games) of all time just makes it that much better. She has officially become one of my “drop everything and read the new book” authors! I can’t wait for her next book!!
This is the third book in the Martha’s Vineyard series. This series just keeps getting better and better. I love the main character Kyra Gibson and her boyfriend Tarek! The characters r so well developed I can picture them as though they r real. Especially the lovable playboy Chase. This time we meet Kyra’s aunt and uncle. This book had prior characters in it to. It can be read as a standalone but is much better when u read the two previous book. Warning: this book was very hard to put down. It had everything: a creepy old house, unsavory characters, mystery, murder, plenty of action and a bad storm. Coincidentally I read this during a bad storm which just added to it. The book was well written and the plot was original. I’m counting the days until the next book comes out. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
Widows Walk by Raemi A. Ray has Attorney Kyra Gibson back and center stage in this Martha's Vineyard Murders Series Book 3. It is the fall with Kyra and friends being invited to attend a formal gala at a client’s historic mansion on Chappaquiddick. Before the night is over one murder has happened, with more following. Now Kyra, Tarek and Chase must find and stop the killer before they also are killed.
The most exciting in the series so far. The danger is close and quickly accelerates. The plot is fast paced but it develops clearly and fully. The setting is wonderful with the mansion, secret passages or doors and more. This was an addictive read in this series. Perfect read or a fall evening or two.
Kyra is hoping to close a large deal for her firm, but it seems to be taking a bit longer to close than normal. As she and her family gather on Thanksgiving for a party, they are shocked to learn that it has been canceled, so there are very few in attendance. As bodies begin to turn up, those present are concerned for their safety, but there is more than murder in the house. Secrets abound, and it seems no one is going to make it out alive.
This was a good read. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading the other books in the series. The book starts out a bit slow, but once it gets going, it really takes off.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I don’t want it to end! Widow’s Walk is the 3rd and final book in the fantastic series, Martha’s Vineyard Murders. This one is another high-action, suspenseful story, with plenty of twists. I’ve come to be invested in these characters and will miss them. Kyra works remotely as a UK lawyer AND she and Tarek are now a couple! Yeah. Kyra’s client rents a mansion on Chappaquiddick for the group to celebrate Thanksgiving. Things get off to a bad start and go downhill from there. Her aunt is found outside with a head injury. A murder is revealed, people are missing, it’s a nightmare. On the edge of my seat, I turned pages on rapid repeat. The book flows effortlessly as the author is a great storyteller. Though each book can be read as a stand-alone, just trust me and read from the beginning!
I might come back and change my review after going back and reading the first two books. For anyone who says that these can be read as stand-alones is wrong.
We meet characters that had history with the FMC in th past books. We also miss all the build up to Kyra and Tarek’s relationship but skipping out on the first two books.
My only really big complaint to this books was that it took almost 200 pages to get to the actual murder mystery and then the book started to pick up. Before that I just wanted to get to the action.
Genre: Murder Mystery APK: Physical Pages: 352 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Series or Standalone: Book 3 in the Martha’s Vineyard Murders
My favorite of the series! Book 3 of the Martha’s Vineyard Murders.
Kyra is under a lot of stress, so when she is invited to a thanksgiving dinner for the ages, she happily accepts. The night quickly turns when a guest is injured, though not gravely. Working with her former detective boyfriend Tarek, Kyra is trying to rule out foul play, but then the bodies start turning up. One twist leads to another and I could not put this down until I knew who did it!
This had such fun Clue vibes! Author Raemi Rae also paid homage to the classic in her acknowledgment.
This is book 3 of Martha's Vineyard Murders series. The storyline on this book seems like it has a little bit of everything for the reader. From romance, thanksgiving, clicking with the rich, to who will survive the night at the mansion. I really like how the book keeps me guessing who the killer was and who was going to be the next victim of the night. I look forward to seeing what next murder will happen with the rich.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Well, I didn't see that coming at all. Guests were being picked off one at a time. It seemed without rhyme or reason, until one particular person seems to be the main target. It was extremely chilling to see such violent murders one after another. I couldn't figure out who the killer was. When the rationale was divulged, I was upset and frustrated. A suspenseful scary read. I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest opinion.
I struggled a little to get in to Widow's Walk , probably because I had not read the earlier books in the series. A remote mansion in an isolated area, wild weather and interesting characters however made for an excellent setting for crime and as the book progresses the reader is drawn in to the plot and the characters background. Worthwhile read for those who enjoy a thriller and I will check out further books by this author
This book is so giving me And Then There Were None vibes and I love it! That is one of my fav books of all times and this captures that creepy vibe perfectly. An old house, cut off from everything by bad weather and lack of communication and then there’s an accident and then murder. This is a wonderful blend of old and new with a perfect setting for a murder mystery. I absolutely loved it!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very intense, suspicious group of people together over the Thanksgiving holiday at a remote island. Intrigue sets about, bodies appear by murder, twists and turns to keep you guessing at the truth. I really enjoyed the characters, they were well turned out with lots of interesting bits. A little romance, some murders and lots of fascination with the characters in this book.
