My arrangement with the well-built firefighter next door is simple. Scorching hot passion. No strings attached. Despite what my best friend claims, I’m not waiting for THE ONE. Hell, I’m not even looking for THE ONE. At least not until I’ve finished my medical residency and am a board certified physician. Then I’ll start dating, I swear.
Until then, the booty call situation I’ve got going on suits me just fine, thanks to my devilishly hot first responder neighbor who knows how to handle my smoke detector. And his hose.
Or at least I thought everything was peachy keen until the attending physician in charge of my program drops by unannounced at her son's apartment to meet his girlfriend. And I answer the door. Wearing nothing but his shirt. Now? Things are complicated.

Sticky Situationship is part of the It's Complicated series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, girl gets her neighbor romance. Libby is a smart, sassy, and driven medical resident. She is about 2 months away from taking her boards. Brock is the hunky firefighter/ paramedic who recently moved into the apartment next door. When he ends up saving her one night from a fire, he knows he wants Libby in his life. He offers a friend with benefits relationship, knowing that Libby is not looking for a relationship. But their chemistry is insanely hot, and it becomes clear they both want all the strings attached. When a miscommunication happens, will they find their way back to each other? I just loved this couple. They were perfect for each other, and we got a very happy ending after a little bit of angst. I can't wait for Zoe and Levi's story!!.

Libby Bauer is a fourth year, internal medicine resident at one of the best programs in the country at one of the top hospitals in New York City. She has taken to baking as a hobby. She has a new next-door neighbor who is a hottie. The medical boards are coming up in six months. So, after putting some cupcakes in the oven, Libby is now studying. However, she dozes off and wakes up suddenly to the fire alarm going off in the kitchen. The cupcakes are totally burnt. Next thing she knows, her next-door neighbor is there. It turns out that he is a firefighter.
Brock Harris turns off the fire alarm. He turns off the oven and looks in the window on the oven door to make sure there are no flames. He then sits Libby next to the open window so she can get some fresh air. He brings her a glass of water. He notices all the note cards and papers on her bed and realizes that she is a student studying for her boards. He also sees a romance novel and a battery operated boyfriend sitting on her nightstand. He has been intrigued by the beautiful next0door neighbor since moving into his apartment. He asks her out, but she says no stating that she is too busy right now for a boyfriend.
Since that night four months ago, Brock and Libby have had a friends with benefits relationship. However, Brock is a mess. He has not dated anyone since starting this relationship with Libby. He even lied to his mother and sister and said that he has a girlfriend. He wanted them to stop trying to set him up. When describing the girlfriend, he described everything about Libby. The only thing he did not mention is that she is studying to be a doctor. His mother is a doctor.
Libby is a mess because Dr. Novak, the attending doctor, pulls her aside during rounds. She tells Libby that she is concerned that Libby is not fully prepared for boards. Libby tells Dr. Novak that she will spend all her free time studying to make Dr. Novak proud. When talking to her friend Zoe, Zoe mentions that Libby has not dated anyone since hooking up with Brock. Libby tells Zoe that she is going to break things off with Brock until after she takes the board examination.
I knew something was going to go wrong when Libby went to Brock’s apartment to have one last fling before breaking things off with him.

I love when people, real or characters in a book, think that you can have a friends with benefits situation and expect that feelings won't develop. It never works, but it sure is fun to read about. There was no lack of steam from Libby and Brock, and when the fun twist of who was knocking at the door during sexy times is revealed it was a funny and awkward moment. A fun and quick read guaranteed to delight.

A fast paced, fun friends with benefits romance that begins innocently for Libby and Brock but soon the feelings begin to creep in for Brock and when Libby is super focused on her career it becomes a bit tense especially when they are interrupted by Brock’s mum who also happens to be Libby’s supervising doctor at work. I enjoyed this very much and was able to laugh a few times at the awkwardness of their situation. Definitely what I needed to put a smile on my face.

Libby is in the final months of residency before taking boards to become a board certified physician. Brock is the sexy firefighter who has moved in next door. I enjoyed this short read. Firefighter, MD, sexcapades, next-door neighbor, steamy, no cheating, HEA romance.
A huge thank you to Ellen Brooks and Booksprout for providing me with an eARC book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Libby is a resident at the local hospital and Brock is the hot firefighter next door who she has a friends with benefits situation. Things take a crazy turn when his mother becomes her boss. The writing is well done, the characters have instant chemistry and even though they fight their feelings they are perfect for each other. Sticky Situationship is a steamy and fun addition to the multi-author It's Complicated series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

The confusion and unexpectedness with his family only makes things more interesting although I'm glad they got past it.
The author has given us a wonderful friends-with-benefits story that pulls us into the lives of Libby and Brock. The story keeps us turning the pages with a secret relationship, connection, denial, revelations and steam.

A fun read! If you love couples that think they don’t have time for a relationship and just want to be friends and not develop any feelings for each other you’re going to love this one. Lily is finishing up her medical residency and meets her new neighbor Brock a first responder. The chemistry is immediate between them but neither wants to admit it! Great to watch them both fall for each other.
If you are looking for a very short story before bedtime that doesn't have a large commitment, this is the one to read. It is as if the "relationship andbuilding" was cut out and all the spicy scenes are fade to black. It's like a road trip . Point A to Point B and C, but all the drama between and how you get to the other points are left out.
Well written story with great characters, a very believable situation and, of course, the ever looked for HEA. Really, though, it is a quick read (over lunchtime or at bedtime?) and although an extended epilogue could have given a bit more detail, it does make for a satisfying read. I certainly will be looking for more of Ellen Brooks books.
This Is a fire hot spicy friends to lovers firefighters Romance a girl blinded by ambition to make something of herself with a demanding career and a guy who catches feelings for a brilliant girl next door, it’s a must read definitely fast paced but a good read!
Quick read since it is a novella and was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, the story is an insta-love trope between a fireman living next door and a stressed out resident, but it is short and sweet. Plus the writing was well done.
Loved this quick and very sweet story. They both were instantly attracted to each other. They fought it all the way. But eventually saw that they could make it work while she accomplished passing her boards.
This was a great read. Libby meets Brock when she burns the cupcakes. Not knowing he was her bosses son they start a friends with benefits. A quick read that leaves you feeling good.
I thought this might be an insta-love type of book but thankfully it’s not. Wow! It’s really a beautiful love story. Thank you so much for sharing this great story with us Ms Brooks!
A delightful short story of what started as friends with benefits and turns into much more. Witty banter, steamy scenes, and misunderstandings made this story a page turner.
