Wanting to learn more about physics i was excited to find a DK book. But, it's not at all what i expect from them. The ones I've read are big books, with glossy pages and lots of photos. This is small and cheap looking. Not even proofread? Before i gave up i came across a diagram where the description didn't even match the colours they were referring too, pretty easy catch i would've thought. I do have a biology background but apparently I'm too simple to understand physics...
not the best book to be read on Kindle as sometimes, the concept was first demonstrated and the explained. Also, the book is just a compilation of concepts' descriptions with not much connection in between them. There are no equations, either... Overall, not the best book to those who don't understand anything about Physics
A very brief overview of physics with some decent diagrams. I'm not sure if it would be helpful for learning concepts you hadn't learned before (I think it might be too concise) but I think it is a pretty good refresher for concepts you perhaps haven't considered in 10+ years. It also reminded me of how little I understand about quantum physics and made me want to learn a little bit more.
Topics were very well explained and illustrated. Good sequence of small to large scale. Background knowledge and interest in the subject are beneficial for understanding this book.
