Please note this is a revised edition of All the Light.
DI Tracy Collier told herself the past didn't matter. She was wrong . . .
It’s Friday and Detective Tracy is looking forward to the weekend. She needs a minute to recharge, to be a normal person instead of some mad woman who runs around chasing criminals.
But all thoughts of rest and relaxation vanish the minute her office phone rings.
A dead woman has been found in one of the beds at Wallinburg’s, a local furniture store.
Tracy grabs DS Damon Hanks and makes her way to the shop, where they find twenty-six-year-old Shannon Mullins lying in a top-of-the-line display bed.
Tracy pulls back the layers of fancy bedding and stares down in disbelief. Shannon’s body has been chopped into pieces and then carefully put back together — like a twisted jigsaw.
Then Tracy finds a piece of crossword puzzle under one of the pillows: Item used for ferrying shopping around inside a supermarket.
If Tracy can crack the code, it will put her one step closer to catching the most hideous criminal mastermind she’ll ever have the displeasure of dealing with.
Author of these series: • DI Tracy Collier • DI Carol Wren • DI Bethany Smith • DI Helena Stratton • The Cardigan Estate • DI Morgan Yeoman • Detective Anna James
Wow, this is book six in the Tracy Collier and series and the protagonist in this one is super weird. This case is as twisted as it gets with the killer leaving crossword clues at the scene.
But behind the evil wrongdoings of the killer lies a secret past that will have the reader torn in two whether to hate them or feel sorry for them.
Another cracking read in this gripping series. Collier is a kickass character whose heart seems to be melting a little.
When a young woman’s body is found cut up and lying in a showroom bed, DI Tracy Collier and the team must investigate and try to close the case quickly.
When more bodies are found, the team have to work out what a lamp and filaments have to do with this complex case.
What a gripping read, I loved it! This author always finds a gruesome way of killing people off and this book was no exception. With excerpts from the past, it was difficult not to feel sorry for the culprit, no wonder her mind was so confused. A fast paced book with some inventive killings!
Wow what can I say Emmy has done it yet again so much going in this book it makes you want to hide away and read in one go which I did today locked the doors and took phone of the hook. So glad I did to all the way through one question kept going through my head why? Why? Emmy writing style you b come a pot of water by the end your boiling over and have to remember to breath. Love The way Tracy talks to herself all the time. The air was punched and a yes a screamed at a certain part.
I don't even know how to feel about this book. I'm sad this is the last of this series, happy that things may be better for Tracy. Bit I want to know darn it! There were twists and turns galore! And though we knew who the suspects were from the on set, it didn't make it any less spellbinding! I'm off to Berlin another series by this fabulous author, Emmy Ellis, to see if the trend continues.
DI Tracey Collier is back to start another case. There was not only death in this story, there was the involvement of the church too. What was the Lamp? What did this mean? This kept me awake, as couldn’t put it down. Just had to finish.
It kept me on my toes, wondering how much more Tracy can take before she cracks and spills, will she fell anybody else her secrets? Didn't want to put it down, can't wait for the next instalment .
I can't get enough of this author, unfortunately this is the last book in the series for a while. While I wait for the next one I'll be catching up on another series by Emmy Ellis which I'm sure will be just as enjoyable if not better.
I've just finished this book the sixth one in the series and I have been gripped by them all I've laughed along with Tracy and cried for her too well done miss Ellis a really great set of books.
A very enjoyable book as always with Emmy Ellis but found the end was a bit rushed to getting to the truth and no real explanation. A little bit of a let down and anticlimax
Another cracker by Emmy. The crimes were gruesome and some graphic details which lent well to the story. Brilliant on the edge reading and can't wait for the next installment. Highly recommended
A truly brilliant episode of this fascinating series. At last an explanation for what is going on in this character s head. Can't wait to read this next edition.
This author is amazing. I've read quite a few of her books. This series just got better with each book. I hope there is another in this series coming but until then I'll just have to read one of her others.
