Success Is An Exaggeration debunks our most common notions about success. Achieving success is too often represented as a complex and demanding process, one that is out of the reach of most people. But success is very relative, personal and not necessarily the result of a sequence of great ideas and uncompromising effort . It is often the outcome of flashes of brilliant behavior, belief, attitude, and action that each of us demonstrates in our daily lives. Often without any training or realization. Once we become aware of these traits and transform them into sustainable habits, success starts to unfold .
This book is a daisy chain of easy flowing chapters with examples from the workplace, sports, movies, and life in general that nudge the reader toward these flashes of brilliance --brilliance that can be repeated and help construct fulfilling and rewarding outcomes.
This is a book not only for the professional trying to build a successful career. It is directed at anyone anywhere, doing anything with the intention of being good at it.
This is a fantastic book that really opened my eyes to what success means. I believe I'm in the majority when I say that I always felt like being a success was beyond my grasp. It only happened to extraordinary people or those who were extremely lucky to be at the right place at the right time. But this book made me redefine what success means and taught me easy-to-understand concepts on how anyone can become successful. The author, Deb Dutta, broke her ideas down into short chapters that made the information easy to grasp. I really liked the way she started the book by talking about the importance of defining why you are doing what you are doing. This book makes you stop and really look at yourself and the direction your life is going and gives you the incentive that you need to really fulfill your dreams and find the passion deep inside to make your dreams a reality. This book further goes on in great detail how to become a very successful business owner/manager by inspiring employees to do their very best and how to win over those you are wanting to do business with. There is just so much great information given in this book on how to succeed in so many many ways.
I think this book is an extremely valuable resource for all people to really find their passion in life and become the success that is in each one of them and I am most excited to have my husband read this book with his new role as manager.
I was given a free copy of this book for writing an honest review.
Success is an Exaggeration is a book brimming with great and thoughtful advice on success. The author approaches success from a more holistic, grand scheme, offering a multitude of ideas on improving your ideals and actions. I liked that the author ties so much of the knowledge to the real world, it makes the advice so much more accessible. The writing, which is more informal, makes it seem more like a mentor giving away advice about the ideas and experience that has made them succeed. I liked that the author focuses more on great practices and an informed and purposeful outlook, which creates in my opinion better and more transferable skills. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
