This is a real childhood favourite. I stumbled across it when I was about 14 and have read it several times. My daughter read it and she revisits it too. It's just so full of mystery and it has really well drawn characters and is very emotive for a children's book.
Loved the book so much I read it in 2 days flat! Which was great...because that’s how I normally read but I have struggled to read at all during lockdown! I love All About Mandy and Sally Sees it through...so was fairly sure I would like this too.
Definitely a book of its time! Wouldn’t name a tree Gaylord these days!! 😂 (Or maybe some people would?!)
And the plot lines stretches the plausibility factor more than usual! But it was a fun light hearted read....with a happy ending. You can’t possibly take this plot line seriously!!
