One of my favorite studies!! I learned so many practical tips on developing deeper Godly friendships and having friendship with Christ first. Highly recommend this study!
While this might not have been a study that was deeply theological, it was definitely a study that was deeply practical. It’s not enough to read about being a good friend - you have to PRACTICE being a good friend - and this study showed how to do that in a very straightforward way. It’s not easy to have deep friendship and community with others. It takes work. It takes being present, vulnerable, forgiving, etc. It doesn’t “just happen.” I have really grown in the last ten years of my life in learning how to be a good friend and have good friends and it has taken a lot of effort and prayer. I think this study really emphasized that that’s what it takes - effort and prayer. And yet, I still felt convicted about the ways I still fail and can stand to do better. Don’t get me wrong, I love diving deep into the Bible, but I really appreciated this study taking biblical principles and laying them out in a practical way with action steps I can take. Knowledge is great, but without action, what good is it really? I’m praying I don’t forget these principles and my friendships can only grow deeper in the future.
I LOVE this book and loved talking through it with my girls. The deepest foundation of this study is Jesus as our friend. And because He is our first friend, He shows us how to love and be friends with others.
Such a good study that dives deeper in the behind the scenes of God’s purpose for creating friendships. Gives practical advice on creating and keeping friendships, even during the hard times.
