I really enjoyed reading this. Sheri and Deandre were such great characters individually and then as a couple. Their chemistry was sizzling off the pages and i couldn’t help but root for them.
The mystery of what Deandre’s son DJ was into was interesting and I did not see it coming. Sheri’s family drama was also highly entertaining( I really dislike her cousin though).
The ending of this however left me very dissatisfied. It took me a couple of minutes after finishing to really sink in that it was over. It was so abrupt , I kept saying “that’s it” over and over. I need some damn closure 😭

Thanks to Harlequin Special Edition and NetGalley for the ARC!

A woman who got a second chance and now owns her own restaurant falls for the cop who once arrested her when they work together on a community project in this charming contemporary romance.

Honestly I wasn't sure how this was going to go, but I ended up really liking it. Sheri and Deandre are both working to create positive change in their community while avoiding the pressure to come down hard with an aggressive police presence because of bored teenagers acting up. I loved how their romance developed too. This is great for people who like external conflict in a romance and a relatively low-drama couple. They are mature and communicate well, but Deandre is a widower with a teenager son who tries to sabotage the relationship. I loved how this handled that. There's a great cast of side characters that are fleshed out and humor scattered throughout. Definitely one to pick up! I generally love Synithia's books. I received a copy of this book for review via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

Usually I rush to read the latest Synithia Williams book but this time around she had two books release a week apart. Anyone who read her Heart & Soul series will both recognize the town and Li'l Bit though you don't have to read that to read this because they're not that connected.

Sherri runs a restaurant in town and Deandre works for the police department. He also happens to be the cop who arrested her awhile back for a crazy stunt attempt to get back at an ex. They have to work together on a community project to help revitalize the area after some bored teens start causing trouble. They soon find themselves attracted to each other but outside forces like Sherri's cousin and Deandre's son aren't so happy about that and cause trouble. This is a very quick read with lots of drama to keep you entertained in addition to the cute romance.

I read this whole book and it's only just now I'm getting the title... Lil Bit!! This makes me love the book even more!!

I really enjoyed Sheri, especially having seen her grow from previous books. She is so passionate about her community and ensuring the safety of the local teens and I love that so much!!! But navigating a new relationship with one of those teens can be tricky, hard, and even heartbreaking.

This book was filled with so much heart and soul, and showed how growing can be hard, especially when your mistakes are brought up by not only your friends and family but the community as a whole. But we are not the person we were on our worst day, and each deserve to find that little bit of love (ha!) and joy. All the stars!!

After someone tried to break into her restaurant and everyone seems to blame teenagers for all the recent troubles in Sunshine Beach, Sheri Thompson decide to get involve in the community outreach committee. She wants to convince people that you can get a second chance after messing up. She remember what it was like to be that age and even as an adult, she did something she's not proud about. In fact, Deandre King, the police officer who arrested her before when she vandalized a car after a breakup, is on the town's board and they'll have to work together to plan an event. Talk about an interesting pairing !

Another excellent new release from Synithia Williams, one of my auto-buy authors! I can’t believe she had releases only a week apart! And not even a duet!! These are both excellent books, as always. She’s a brilliant and beautiful writer.

This one, A Little Bit of Love, isn’t part of a series but there’s definitely mention of characters from the Heart and Soul series and it’s in the same town setting as this one (though unconnected, and a standalone). I’ve read Heart and Soul so I caught the mention but anyone who hasn’t will just read names and a show thrown out there. I really liked this link!

Sheri is our main character and she runs a restaurant in town. She left after high school because she wanted to escape some bad blood and memories, but it’s been many years now. Deandre is a cop and widower and single dad. He’s well respected and recently come here after his wife passed for his in-law’s help raising his son. He arrested Sheri when she was younger for a really silly little thing (truly silly… something her silly cousin talked her into).

Deandre is working on revitalizing the south end of town and Sheri is on the committee, so they are paired up and spending time together. They’ve decided that a little thing like his arresting her all those years before shouldn’t make working together on the committee get in the way. All these hours of close proximity are really adding up… and Deandre’s son seems to be taking advantage of that absence and trying to keep them from getting closer, as well.

As always, I totally love Williams’ words and her fantastic storytelling! I highly recommend this one - it was so good M if you’ve never read one of her books before this would be a great one to start with!! If you’re a long-time fan like myself, it’s another great addition to her catalogue. Brilliant!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Harlequin Special Edition, and this is my honest feedback.

This was a good book that was full of romance and family drama. Sheri recently returned to town and opened a restaurant. She loves her community but also admits that it has its problems. She is involved in revitalizing the area and works with the police lieutenant assigned to the project. She and Deandre have a history- Deandre was the officer who arrested her after she vandalized her ex's car.

Deandre is a widower with a teenage son. He moved to town after his wife's death so his in-laws could help with his son. He is determined to succeed with the revitalization project that he hopes will solve the problems of bored teenagers.

Neither Sheri nor Deandre anticipated the attraction that flared between them. I liked their connection and how well they understood each other's lives and challenges. Their growing feelings for each other are complicated by his son DJ's attempts to keep them apart.

I liked how the author handled the issue of the teens and DJ. It was a realistic look at the attitudes of the teens and the adults around them. There were some tense moments with DJ that Sheri dealt with well.

The problems with DJ cause Sheri and Deandre to step back from their growing relationship. I liked their honesty with each other. I loved seeing what brought them back together and their look toward the future.

As Usual Synithia Williams bring on the family drama in her latest novel “A Little Bit Of Love.” Mrs. Williams novels would not be such great best sellers if there was no family drama. This a second chance romantic journey for Deandre and Sheri in a small-town community. Sheri and Deandre share a past as he arrested her after a breakup when she was younger. Deandre is a lieutenant cop, widowed with a teenaged son DJ. Sheri owns and operates a restaurant. Deandre and Sheri find themselves banding together to work on a community project. As the two are working closely together and spending time together they are enjoying their shared time together and newfound love. With Deandre working on the community project this leaves him little time for his teenaged son DJ who is working hard at keeping Sheri and his dad Deandre apart.
This is an entertaining read that I enjoyed with family drama, romance, second chance at romance, great characters and plot that held me captive. I look forward to reading what Synithia Williams has in store for her readers next.

Is there a second chance at romance for Deandre and Sheri and what is going on with DJ?

I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Their first meeting changed her life

Their second one changes everything

Includes a bonus story, About Last Night!

The book delivers on the promise of the synopsis and the cover-no surprises there. The appeal, to me, is that this is a traditional Harlequin novel that I grew up with-and there is something comforting about that. All told, this is an enjoyable and quick way to spend an afternoon. I also enjoyed the bonus novella, which pays off a couple that we've seen in other books.

I enjoyed this book. I thought the narration was good. I liked Shari and Deandre as a couple. I was frustrated by DJ, but I understood how he felt. I was surprised in one sense that he would take things that far, but I was not surprised to find out who was involved.

I did not like Shari's cousin Cora at all. I found her jealousy of Shari to be a problem. I did not care that Cora was family. There were 3 separate incidents where Cora did not have Shari's best interest at heart, in spite of what she said. Sometimes it is necessary to walk away from family members who mean you no good.

I thought this was a sweet romance with a few complications, but ended with an HEA. Rating: 3.75 Stars

Harlequin - Romance, Harlequin Special Edition and NetGalley provided an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed here are solely my own.

This is a small town romance with some fairly surprising third act drama. Sheri and Deandre are likable lead characters with believable chemistry and the community revitalization plot is handled well.

Overall, an enjoyable read.

A little Bit of Love with a whole lot of drama. I enjoyed this story. The characters were believable and relatable. When I wasn’t reading the story I was thinking about it. Although I was pleased with the direction the couple was taking I wanted more. Perhaps the author was setting readers up for a sequel. I recommend this book as a nice weekend read or beach read.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Special Edition for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.

Nice story of a woman working to make her business area of town a more attractive place. But the powers that be in town are only looking a crime statistics. But with the help of Lt. Deandre King, Sheri Thomas, owner of a cafe, will work to change perceptions of the locals, and tourists. And working with Deandre isn't much of a hardship, but his teenage son, DJ, has other ideas about his dad's relationships, and also, is hanging with the wrong group.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it! It definitely won’t be the last!!!! Sheri and Deandre tried to fight their attraction but couldn’t. I wasn’t sure if her cousin Cora was for or against her, but I found out. Also his son was uncooperative with his Dad and the jealous of their relationship. The ending surprised me.

Sheri and DeAndre had a cute story. He once arrested her for vandalizing a guy’s car. Now they are working together to help improve the local community. They are both attracted to each other and those feelings quickly grew. Then his teenage son starts causing problems.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I actually wished I could get a bigger glimpse into what happened after the end of the book.

Second Chances

This was an excellent read! I loved Deandre and Sherri together! Even though they had a not so great first encounter. Thank goodness for second chances! Deandre’s son DJ was a piece of work at first. So was Sherri’s cousin Cora. I’m just glad that everything worked out for them! Great read Ms. Williams! ❤️🔥

A new twist to romance involving children who have difficulty with accepting their parents relationships. Sheri was given a second chance and found it in her heart to do the same. I know it had to be a hard decision, especially when others were constantly bringing up her past and not knowing all the facts.

I really liked this Harlequin Romance novel! I liked it way more than the other book that was included in this two book series (Taming a Heartbreaker). I really liked that there was a plot and it was more than just romance scenes and that there was actually conflict in this story which made me unable to put it down!! I thought it was a nice romance story and a very quick read!

Cool story. I liked Deandre and Sheri together, overall. Did not like Cora. Sheri tugged on my nerves here and there but overall I liked how fiery she was, and how she didn't back down when challenged. Neither did Deandre. They communicated any issues instead of holding them inside and letting them fester or risk anything being misconstrued or miscommunicated and I loved that.

Deandre is a cop in this small North Carolina (maybe South?) town where there's a bit of a divide between the nicer area and the more run down area that community members are working on restoring, hopefully without gentrification. Deandre also has a son who is acting out. He meets Sheri at a community event and the two of them wind up getting volunteered/they do volunteer to plan an event. As the two of them grow closer, Deandre's son doesn't necessarily appreciate Sheri's presence.

What I enjoyed about this book is what I always appreciate and enjoy about Synithia Williams works. She is so great at creating a cast of characters that feel like real people. She is also pretty great at always bringing the drama, which makes all of her books so entertaining to read from. Ultimately though, this book wound up not being my favorite from her. Sheri and Deandre wound up being characters I forgot about pretty immediately and also, I've just read so many stories I've loved more from her. So overall, I would recommend this one, but only so you can get a taste of Williams and continue to devour her backlist and front list.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for the ARC!

"A Little Bit of Love" is a standalone novel set in the same town as the Heart and Soul series. Sheri, a restaurant owner, returns to her hometown to escape her past. Deandre, a widowed cop and single dad, moves there for family support. Years ago, Deandre arrested Sheri for a minor incident. Now, they work together on a town revitalization committee, and their close proximity sparks a romance. Deandre's son, however, tries to keep them apart. Williams’ storytelling and character development shine, making this a highly recommended read for new and long-time fans alike.
