This was a very enjoyable book. The chemistry was fantastic, the plot entertaining, and I wasn't left questioning or waiting for more info at the end. I love how down to earth the main characters are and I wish their families were more supportive but I understand that is also part of their story/background and why they are the characters they are. Well written and would read again.

Wealthy socialite and gossip media darling Aria is living what she thinks is her best life, blissfully ignorant of the fact that her scumbag fiance Chase has been cheating on her with his assistant, to whom she’s been embarrassingly kind and attentive. When she catches them en flagrantè at an important public event, she freezes up rather than confront him. As she runs from the venue, it’s straight out of every romcom: it begins raining heavily, she breaks her heels on street hazards, and no taxi will stop for her. Enter Ethan, her very hot enemy with a motorcycle and ulterior motives.

Ethan has been burned by Chase in a huge way financially and by damage to his reputation. He has been angling to orchestrate Chase’s downfall ever since, so when he follows a distraught Aria into the tumultuous night after hearing her leave a frantic voicemail to her sister about his nemesis, he decides she’ll be useful in achieving his goal. He sees Aria safely home and helps her destroy Chase’s favorite wardrobe pieces, changing elevator and keypad codes to lock him out of Aria’s penthouse.

Aria has always thought of herself and been treated as a vapid good time girl, not too bright, but a great party planner with a knack for capturing attention. When her carefully curated world is upended and Chase turns public opinion around to make her out to be the cheater, Ethan offers to assist her in getting revenge.

What follows is a funny, delightful enemies to lovers tale, the redemption of Aria as more than the dumb débutante, and Ethan’s evolution from manwh0re to man head over heels in love.

At the beginning it was really difficult to find reasons to like Aria, especially her initial cringeworthy moments scenes with Ethan, but the author does a great job of giving her hitherto untapped depth and resourcefulness. Her transformation is well paced and satisfying, as is Ethan’s turn from attachment-averse to becoming all in with Aria.

I was graciously furnished an advance reader copy from the author and booksirens, and I’m sharing my honest thoughts.

Tropes:
- Fake Dating (her ex's enemy)
- Revenge
- Billionaires
- Fallen It Girl x Broody Rags to Riches Tall Dark and Handsome

Fake dating (and marriage of convenience) is my favourite trope. It's the forced proximity that gets to me every time.

Aria has everything, she's got a charming fiancé, and she works with her mother. All's good, right?
Wrong, of course, as Aria attends a ball for her fiancé, she finds him cheating on her (at the ball where she is ?? Man's playing with fire, damn) in a supply closet.
She runs away and it just gets worse, one of her heels breaks, she gets caught in the rain and the only solution for her to get home? The very sketchy, enemy, Ethan, saves her from walking home. She only hears bad things about him and doesn't trust him.
She takes the night to get all her anger out, ripping her ex's clothes, giving away his shoes, and locking him out. The catch? The next day, she realises that the cheating scumbag had published an article (remember, they're ultra-rich so that means people care about them?) about how she had cheated on him and that he was trying to mend his heart.

This article and bad reputation trigger Aria's choice to fake date Ethan. He had been with her during her night of crazy and wants to take his revenge on the scumbag ex because the ex has not only been an asshole to Aria but also to him. The MCs state they want revenge and talk about it in the beginning. There's some shenanigan in the ex's office, but other than that? Honestly, I was a bit disappointed, I wanted to witness the fall of this scum, but the focus shifted to the MCs' love story in the second half. And I love, love fake dating, but I wanted more revenge, so this was why I only put to stars.

If the revenge is not something you're die-hard about, then go ahead and read this book!

The Enemy of My Enemy Is... My Fake Boyfriend? is a standalone contemporary romance by Jenna Fiore.

I wasn't totally sure what to expect, even though I had read the blurb, but I was intrigued and I was ready. This was an enjoyable read, a lot of fun and, over all, predicated on revenge and a fake romance, though I didn't expect to sympathise with the female main character, Aria.

Aria is a New York socialite and is often all over the media. She has been with her fiancé for a couple years when he shatters her world when she finds out in the worst way possible that he is cheating. That's where Ethan steps in. Aria had never allowed herself to get to know Ethan before now, mostly because he is her now ex-fiancé's arch nemesis. But Ethan proposes that they fake a relationship in a complex plan for revenge. Aria is hurt and is definitely interested, but when the ex makes her life miserable by using the tabloid media against her, she makes the decision to go along with the plan.

As I said, I really found myself sympathising with Aria because she is being treated like garbage. But that is where I learned to Ethan. He is up front and makes no apologies for what he wants to do. However, that is only Ethan on the surface. He has emotional depth and seeing Aria in trouble sparks his protective instincts as something begins to blossom between them.

It was fun, it was sexy and is the perfect petty revenge story.

What would you do if you found your fiance with another woman and not just any woman but one you had befriended. Well that's what happened to Aria now came the problem of dealing with it. Especially as he doesn't even know she's seen them together or that she'd do anything but accept it and pretend it hadn't happened. Except she can't do that so she hides and then runs. Ethan knew how most people thought about him, but did he care no. He was successful, handsome, mysterious and definitely sexy. But that doesn't interest him because he doesn't do relationships or more than meaningless sex. All he wants is revenge on the person who he hates most, and now he may have found an ally in his quest. Except he knows that Aria hates him but the saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" may actually help him if he can convince her to trust him. Although there is another saying that springs to mind "Hell have no fury as a woman scorned" can Aria get her own revenge. This story brings these two together and makes for a very tense, stressful and sometimes very hot collaboration. Can they overcome their past and make their enemy pay or will both of their misgivings towards each other stop this before its even begun. I loved the friction and at the same time chemistry between the two main characters. Although Aria does come across as a spoilt mindless airhead who's only interested in partying, spending money and her looks, can she prove she's so much more. I loved everything about this book and really didn't want it to end. Although I'm hoping Astrid will maybe get a story of her own

I really enjoyed being an ARC reader for Jenna Fiore’s newest book The Enemy of My Enemy Is... My Fake Boyfriend?. Aria and Ethan have rich chemistry from the onset of the book, and their dual POVs show how they each grow in their feelings for each other as the story moves on. It’s amazing to see how they could use their initial hatred for Aria’s ex-fiancé as a starting point for their connection before it becomes greater than that initial shared dislike.

It’s hard not to love Ethan from the very beginning, even though Aria initially dislikes him. Ethan has a clear understanding of who he is and what he values, and his willingness to support Aria through her discovery of this is beautiful. It becomes more than a story about a cheating ex- it’s a journey of self love and discovering who Aria and Ethan are to as individuals and to each other.

The Enemy of My Enemy Is... My Fake Boyfriend? sets up the potential for a longer series following the relationship highs and lows of Aria’s two sisters, Annalise and Astrid. While Aria’s family dynamic is present in this book, there is plenty of room to grow in our knowledge of that world through these potential next books.

"You weren't drowning...You were learning to swim. And I want to be there to dive in after you."

description

This book surprised me. I had an inkling it was going to be good from the description alone. However, upon starting it, I hated the FMC so much, that I didn't know if I'd be able to enjoy the book. This view was quickly confuted (To quote Aria, "Did I use that word correctly? I have no freaking clue.")

My dislike for Aria soon became the reason for my love of this book. It wasn't just a love story between two characters; this was a self-love story too. She literally grew so much as a person as the story developed.

description

Ethan was hot as all hell and the spice was on point.

A super easy read.

Word of the day (IFYKYK):
Nervited.

I.e. ""I'm nervited."
"Nervited?" I asked.
"Yeah, you know. Nervous and excited.""

Celebrate Your Sparkle!

(You’ll understand the headline when you’ve read the book). This book was everything I didn’t know I needed when I first decided to borrow it. You know how sometimes you’re in the mood for everything and so you kinda choose nothing because you literally can’t decide what you want at the moment? I was feeling that way with my TBR list. Did I want relationship drama? Maybe. A Comedy? Sure. Cinnamon roll bad boy who’s only good for her? Frick yes. Spicy scenes? A must. This book had well developed characters without being overbearingly descriptive. Like, you can get a sense of who they are and what motivates them, without having the same three descriptions repeated over and over and over. They feel real in a way that’s not always easy to convey. The story had a balanced amount of time spent between building a relationship with the characters that was both physically intimate (Grab some milk for that spicy burn) and emotionally intimate (Let your feelings soar). So basically what I’m saying is… this was a great book. Take a chance and get your fill on a great read that has a little bit of everything.

The Enemy of My Enemy Is... My Fake Boyfriend? is an entertaining novel, full of humour and wicked fun (of all kinds). Aria, a NY socialite, is happy with her fiance; that is, until she catches he and his assistant in the janitor's closet! What proceeds is a series of "downfall" moments leading to her agreeing to conspire with her ex-fiance's biggest enemy, Ethan, to bring about the former's downfall.

Ethan was described by her fiance as evil and an awful person; gossip tended to agree with that. But, as Aria got to know him, she saw a totally different man than had been described; as the reader proceeds through the book, the truth of the situation comes out.

Ethan and Aria are a fun couple; when I first started reading, I thought Aria to be a bit of a ditz, and Ethan a scoundrel (at best). In truth, they're nothing like that - as they both come to see and experience.

I truly enjoyed reading Jenna Fiore's book, and am looking for to more from her!.

The Enemy of My Enemy is a lively enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance that follows the trials and tribulations of Aria Stratton who after catching her fiancée Chase cheating, dives into a free fall. It takes his enemy and by association hers, Ethan Locke, to bring her back from the abyss.
There were quite a few humorous moments as the two setup their own fake romance to counteract the awful things Chase had been spreading in the digital world about Aria.
This was a good read with lots of entertaining moments between the leads because Ethan REALLY had feelings for Aria and over time and with his attentiveness it wasn’t long before she was feeling the same, and wondering how she could have been so blinded to Chase’s real self.
Nice writing and a good story made this an entertaining read with a very HEA.

This is one of those books that I usually never picked but something in the description got my attention and there I was reading it immediately and finishing it in one go 🙄. What can I say? There’s nothing to defend myself, I just enjoyed it from the beginning until the end.
The chemistry between Aria and Ethan was intense. Ethan was everything everyone deserves in life. Perfect in every sense.
There is no need to criticize anything but if I have to say something, it would be that there were parts in the plot that felt inconclusive. I suspect that what I felt missing will be clarified in the following books when the story of the other Stratton sisters are written. Specifically the Hanna story or Chase’s. It feels Chase is an enemy for life kind of person. Hope I’m wrong though.

I loved this standalone romance read by Fiore. While I read the blurb for this book and was captivated by it, this is the first book I've ready by Fiore and I have to admit, I hope it won't be the last. Well written with great characters - Aria and Ethan. I loved how well done the dual point of view is written and the chemistry between our characters develops wonderfully. I love that while this relationship starts off as revenge, turns into a whole other situation and the romance both sweet and steamy is great as well as all the humor that balances this read to perfection! A wonderful read I couldn't get enough of and I can't wait for more!

This was my first book by Jenna and I loved it. I had a bit of a reading dip but this one got me hooked and entertained. When you start reading this one, you immediately get all the feels, my heart broke for Aria and what she had to go through. The way her horrible ex Chase treated her afterwards was so cruel, but you know karma …

Ethan was everything you wanted in a hero: masculine, tall, biker, sweet, protective, mysterious, smart and romantic like when he told her this: “ You weren’t drowning”, he said softly. “ You were learning to swim. And I want to be there to dive in after you.”

Swoon!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book and I’m curious to read the others.

It was an excellent read. I couldn't tear myself away from it and read the book in one sitting.
Both Aria and Ethan were great characters and had incredible chemistry practically from the first scene in which they locked gazes at the event Aria's 'perfect' life fell apart.
From that point on, there was a great deal of banter, some funny scenes, and a few searingly hot occurrences between the couple.
I loved their plan for revenge on Aria's douchebag ex-boyfriend, as it made the perfect excuse for them to play couple and blur the lines.
5 stars!.

When Aria catches her fiance Chase cheating she gets unexpected help from Ethan Locke - a man she considered an enemy. When he suggests they should start fake-dating in order to get back at Chase she agrees. But the more time she spends with Ethan the more feelings are developing…

I loved this book and read it in one day. It was thoroughly entertaining, had great main characters and the chemistry between them was palpable. I also enjoyed getting glimpses of Aria's sisters and hope this book is the first in a series about the Stratton sisters.

I loved this book!! I would definitely avoid giving Aria & Ethan any reason to get even with me. I laughed so hard while they plotted & executed revenge on Chase. Who by the way, deserved everything he got!! Chase is a man who hides his true self from Aria, his fiance and the entire world. He did his best to paint Ethan, a long time rival, in the worst possible way. Aria is a woman who is so use to doing for others, that she forgets her own identity. Ethan is the man who wants nothing more then to love Aria and show her, her true worth while getting some revenge against an old rival. Hilarious antics thru the entire book. Highly recommend!!

When Aria finds out that her fiancé Chase is a cheater, who is there to help her? Ethan, her fiancé's enemy.

The two of them plot revenge against Chase, and end up falling in love along the way. Ethan realizing that Aria is more than just a 'society princess' and Aria realizing that Ethan is nothing like Chase (or what Chase made him out to be!)

This book is sweet and sexy and I couldn't put it down. This is my first time reading Jenna Fiore, but it definitely will not be my last!.

Recommended for anyone looking for a sweet romance story.
The first chapter I was rolling my eyes at the Aria the FMC as you could see it coming a mile away, but the story was well written, the characters were well fleshed out and the moments of conflict were very 'in character'. The revenge was *chefs kiss*; remind me to take note of anyone with access to my shower.

I'm excited for the next book in the series.

I liked The Enemy of My Enemy Is…My Fake Boyfriend? a lot. The characters, particularly the main two, were really fun and engaging, and I rooted for them throughout the entire book. The plot, which revolves around a revenge scheme, was interesting and different. The author did a great job of keeping me interested. Overall, this book was a really fun read and I'd recommend it to anyone who is interested in a contemporary romance with a sweet revenge twist.

Aria just caught her fiance cheating with his PA in a closet at a gala. When he starts spreading lies about her in the social pages, she wants revenge.
Ethan always thought Aria was a snob; but when he found out his rival cheated on her, he approaches her about getting revenge on her cheating ex. But what's in it for him?

Enjoyed the book. People are not always what the appea. Sometimes when you get to know the person underneath, love turns to dislike and dislike turns to love.

Seeing the tittle, I knew this was the book I needed to read after the longest busiest week.
And it did not disappoint! If you are looking for some quirkiness, some banter, and overall a easy to read romantic story; stop searching and start reading.

Even with the red flags and knowing the ex is too close with his assistant, the book still gives you a funny and slow burn romance.

Loved the craziness and the ‘I don’t give a F’ that came with Aria, and the softer side that came with Ethan.

First, this book started out with a bang. Aria was a social media influencer engaged to Chase. He cheats on her and destroys her in the public eye. Her enemy, Ethan, has a great plan to expose Chase. So I can tell you Ethan turns out not to be Aria's enemy after all. There are some great twists in the plot that keep you guessing. Yes, there is a lot of spice, steam, and the HEA. I loved the characters in this book.

If you are looking for an enemies to lovers, paybacks, and the fmc getting her groove back…this book is 100% for you!!!

I love strong fmc so when I started this book, I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it. The cheating fiancé hit too close to home for me and I could feel all the emotions for the fmc.

But thankfully, this book was exactly what I needed to read!!

Plus…the spice towards the end…yes please!!!

This is a definite must read!!

Such a cute book. The author made the characters all come to life and made them accessible. I liked the way that Aria went from being a total snob when with Chase to being a likeable sweetheart when with Ethan. It was nice seeing how Ethan treated Aria so sweetly and having her trust issues go away when he showed how much he loved her. It was great that Aria could be her own goofy self with Ethan. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

This was a slow burn with not enough conflict. The conflict resolved off page and I was disappointed I didn't get to read any of it. It's a cute story but I'm not invested in these characters. I did enjoy the spice scene and the office scene did not disappoint. I just wish their was more conflict between the antagonist and the leads.

First installement of the 'Stratton Sisters' trilogy. The books are all stand-alone (I read the third one first & loved it, so decided to backtrack). This one doesn't disappoint - Aria is cheated on by her scummy fiance and is devastated. His enemy Ethan, proposes a pact where he & Aria pretend to be an 'item' and get revenge on the man who wronged her and is playing the victim on social media. A truly great read - can't wait to read the next book!
