Oliver no puede creer que volvía a estar de nuevo en The Wicked Chase, por 3 vez. Todavía no entiende porque volvió a aceptar la invitación, o si?. Lo cierto es que esta vez si sabe quien es quien lo persigue, si sabe que es lo que puede esperar de esta "cacería", y esta nervioso y ansioso a la vez. Esta vez será diferente? Podrá ganar esta noche? Que pasará si gana? y si no?

En este caso, la trama es muy parecida a los anteriores, pero el autor nos cuenta que ha pasado con las otras parejas, y nos explica un poco mas lo que significa ser de la hermandad y el porque hacen lo que hacen. Además nos dieron muchísimo background de ambos protas, inclusive las cosas terroríficas que les gustan a uno de ellos. Aquí también tenemos una muy buena descripción del bosque, y de la "fiesta" de iniciación de Oliver.
En fin, ya solo me queda el último libro de esta serie con nuestro amigo Eduard (mascara dorada) y ahí conoceremos por fin a su elegido, y la razón por la que no lo había podido "escoger" hasta ahora.

Superb! This one was so thrilling, and super duper intense!

Bronze Mask has chosen Olivier, the timid librarian, as the one, and now he hunts Olivier down to claim him as 'his'

Olivier has a story, he had a rough time when he was younger, and his father gave him the final punch, leaving him.
He feels unworthy and now the people here are ignoring him too. My heart!
The opportunity the Alpha Fraternarii offers him isn’t something he can resist.

“We are no fraternity,” “We are a brotherhood. The Alpha Fraternarii. Created in the dawn of the French Revolution.”

Reluctant but unable to resist Olivier does what the beautiful Alexandre asks, he runs.

Peur.
Colère.
Bats-toi.
Rends-toi.
Plaisir.

Alexandre wants Olivier’s vulnerability, the more he gets the more he falls for him.
The hunt was spectacular, I couldn’t get enough of what the author gave us.
I was hardly able to take the whole scenery in, there were so many details, superb!!

These novellas are so hot, and I love the fact that they get more unhinged with each couple, and I wish that these were all full length novels because I want to know more about each and every one of these boys. The sweet and cute participants AND their rich spoilt assholes that chose them.

I loved the dynamic between the “timid librarian” and Bronze mask. From the accidental slip-up of Bronze’s voice asking Olivier if he was okay to Olivier finding out who the Bronze mask was during the daytime and his oh-shit! realisation that Bronze mask is one hot elite motherfucker.

God… that scene in the forest though… 🥵

This was pretty hot, but it also kinda cringed me out.
Their We.are.privileged bit is getting embarrassing. Yall really are just spoiled, bored, and horny rich kids. Plus, the old man gives me the heebie jeebies.
The chase was fun. The altar part is always delicious. I just wish we had a wee look into their future.
I'm excited about Gold Masks book. When Oliver found him and his chosen getting freaky in the woods 🥵 He's a kinky mfer. Can't wait.

There isn't sharing in this one, but gold mask touches them/kisses their cheeks while they're fuckin.

She has nailed it again with this new novella, just when I thought she couldn't be bettered she brings us Olivier and Alexandre.

Alexandre, the mysterious horseman 🐎 who throws stone balls and from the first book you wonder who he is and his Olivier or as he calls him, his petit loup (little wolf 🐺).

Alexandre and Olivier will have "love at first sight" and I have had the feeling that among the Wicked Chase novellas this is her most romantic novella to date, but remember that we are talking about the Wicked Chase so always check the TW.

Say at this point how much I love Lola Malone's writing, the world she has created, her Dark Academia aesthetic that I like so much, her own essence, I think it is more than evident. 🖤

Hunted follows the rhythm of the previous novels. Adrenaline, tension, chemistry between the protagonists, spicy chef kiss scenes and that enigmatic forest around Monterrey Castle that, to be honest, I would also like to get lost in. 😏

Lola has also been very intelligent introducing Edouard who we have been able to get to know a little about in this novel and, OMG, I think she has saved the best for last.
Now I can't wait to read what will be the last novel and closure of the Wiched Chase and the story of that little psychopath who walks around with his knife and his gold tooth. I already like him!

Hunted can be read as Standalone but I highly recommend that you read them as a series because believe me, they are worth it and the experience is much better.

The Wicked Chase - Novella 3 - An Alpha Fraternarii Novella

As usual, Lola Malone completely knocks it out of the park with these short, spicy, MM novellas ! Every time I read one, I think.. there’s no way another one can top this. And then the next one does 😅

We’ve seen Copper Mask appear quite a few times in the previous Wicked Chase novellas, as the masked man on his horse.. well now is the time to meet him.

He had been hunting Olivier for the past 2 chases, and now tonight is the night to finally claim his petite loup (little wolf 🐺)

These two were surprisingly sweet?! I don’t think I’ve said that about any characters from these books (except maybe Dominique ♾️🖤) but they shared a very special bond that I actually found to be quite swoony and although this book was spicy as expected, their love for one another really took centre stage !

Although Alexandre is a bit of a walking red flag, he consistently checked in with Olivier and took care of his so well during the chase and the initiation. I actually loved these two ! So much. And a little primal play in the woods? Yes please. Yum.

As usual, if you’re looking for a spicy MM novella, these are for you ! No need to read the others beforehand if you don’t want too, but I would suggest reading them because they’re delicious too 🫠 (see Trapped, my absolute favourite 🕷️)

My only complaint, as with every one of these is that I’m left wanting MORE MORE MORE. But thats the name of this novella game, and you just have to be okay with not getting to see the true HEA play out 🥲 or maybe you will… 👀

Alexandre has been watching his timid librarian for while he belongs to him and now it’s finally time for him to join the brotherhood this time he will chase him down, hurt him then to his wounds and claim him in front of his brothers

“the request to be back here, in the Wicked Chase. Him. His face, his features, his size, his words. All of it scares me, creating an inner turmoil I have never before experienced. Yet, it’s euphoric.”

Hunted is the third Novela in the wicked chase series I have followed the series from the start and I am so obsessed I love this pairing in particular they had amazing chemistry and I love the way Oliver was in denial, but yet he still knew deep down that this was what he really wanted

I have read this book a whopping 4,5/5 I love this book as much as I love the rest of the series seriously the only thing that would’ve made me gave it a little bit higher rating was if we could have experience a little more about what happened after Oliver meeting his parents and all of that I know it has been the same for the rest of the series but I really would have left like a continuing ending if you know what I mean

These novellas bring all the dark and spicy moments we have come to know and love from the Alpha Fraternarii.

I am obsessed with all things Monterrey Castle and Alexandre, and Olivier are utterly perfect for each other and are both as obsessed as each other!!

These novellas are full of primal, dark, wickedness, and I have loved every second of them, and I can't wait for us to see our Golden mask join the chase and finally get his chosen one.

My favorite yet! Hunted is primal, hot, & sexy. It left me fanning myself 🥵🥵🥵 I've been completely intrigued by the Bronzed mask member of the Alpha Fraternarii. The way that he hunted horseback with a Bola? I needed to know more!

I enjoyed everything about Alexandre and Olivier. The way Alexandre hunted the shy librarian and the way Olivier responded was perfectly executed. It had touches of bdsm, which I think added to the story.

I felt like for a novella, it was a well-rounded story that left me satisfied at the end. Of course, I'd still love to know what all the couples are doing in the future, but that's just me wanting more, lol

I also can't wait for Gold! He seems unhinged, just the way I like 😈

And with his voice in my mind I’d let him corner me before he chased me back to the beginning of the game, back to where the older man and his cane were waiting, back to where I got transported back to the castle. Back to where my driver was waiting to take me home for the holidays. His voice stayed in my mind."

I've only just discovered Lola Malone's world at St. Laurent, but OHMYGOODNESS can she weave the perfect combo of spicy and sweet power dynamics into all the elements needed to make an endearing (yet steamy) romance!!💜💜💜 I've been happily swept up into the deliciously atmospheric, seductive mystery that surrounds her characters—they have their secrets, and they not only rewrite history, but also what they thought they knew about themselves.

I feel it's only fair to add the disclaimer that while I've read Crown of Disguise, this was my first read from The Wicked Chase novellas—and I wasn't any less intrigued or enamored for it!

Hunted is the third of "four unique masks for four unique love stories." Alexandre is a character suited for the chase, someone who loves the hunt and the thrill of his potential prize as one of the only members of Alpha Fraternatti to do so on horseback along with the ancient weapon of his Argentinian heritage, the bolas. And his prey—Olivier, the cautious but fierce librarian whose complicated home life has convinced him he isn't worth fighting for—is an exception to the rules of the Wicked Chase, participating three times now despite his previous two eliminations. They have seen each other without their masks, and they continue to gravitate towards one another in a leap of faith that destiny might exist after all.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing each of these two personalities revealed layer by layer and chapter by chapter. The little ways they compliment and appreciate each other made me instantly feel invested in the bond they've created. Olivier may be introverted and keeps to himself as he contentedly keeps his head down to maintain the status quo, but there's an underlying tenacity and inner strength that makes him seem unshakable at his core when his character is called into question. Alexandre is fascinated and allured by the contradictions he sees in Olivier, and despite his arrogance to pre-orchestrate their future together(as a lesbian reader, I had to laugh at him and the way he struck me as a U-Haul-Gay, omg!! Alex would rather skip the coffee and get married instead!😂)and his over-eagerness to continue the hunt, he turned out to be the bigger romantic of the two!

I adored the little moments when Alexandre seems to break the fourth wall, and his inner dialogue that shows him getting ahead of himself—like the overly enthusiastic golden retriever he is—at the idea of Olivier being someone who will stay with him for the rest of his life (the fact they haven't even officially met is neither here nor there, lol). It grounded me in the best way to see his little flickers of authenticity where we understand that he understands that behind the theatrics of everything going on around them, he and Olivier are people, not just players. It also gives us a more human glimpse behind this Bronze mask who supposedly loves the thrill of the chase—not as a bloodthirsty heathen determined to make Olivier miserable, but as someone in his element who's also concerned with forming a connection with the person he thinks might be a potential life partner. It reminds us that the Wicked Chase is, at the end of the day, just a game that simply holds the illusion of danger.

If you're a fan of a little metaphor & good character arcs, then you might appreciate the way this novella plays with the concept that Olivier, despite being hunted down by a pack of predators through the woods at the stroke of midnight, is himself, a "lone wolf." Hunger is just as apparent in Olivier's life story as it is in his physical needs, and I loved how Alexandre endearingly has dubbed him "petit loup," or little wolf, as a force not to be underestimated.

You're sweet, Olivier. Graceful. You're dreamy, and intelligent. Creative. Hungry for knowledge. I love how you walk alone, yet you don't seem lonely. Are you?"

I have so so many little things I could gush over the way Lola Malone writes this novella: the tenderness of tiny little nose rubs and forehead kisses, the way Alexandre still asks for permission to take what he wants giving Olivier the opportunity to give his consent as an equal, the fact that we know the name of his horse and that she's a sweetheart of an animal who Alex trusts with his whole heart and vice versa, etc.

I'm giving Hunted a solid 4.5/5 stars only because I wish we could have seen a moment or had a conversation where Olivier reconciles with his past and shares this part of himself with Alexandre, or gotten a clearer idea of how Olivier's life will change and his family dynamics will shift yet again now that he's the chosen partner of an Alpha Fraternatii member. However I understand the limitations of writing something as short and concise as a novella, and perhaps it's just my own wish for more closure for Olivier besides wanting to see more of the context of their future together.

But I will say this: I was genuinely sad to see this novella end, and I'm convinced I have some more reading to do—excuse me while I race as fast as possible to the beginning of The Wicked Chase series so my heart is prepared for the fourth and final story, Gold Mask!!

I loved how this story of owning, claiming, and dominating still has a heart of genuine care and nurturing at the centre of it all.

This is the third book in the Wicked Chase series, set in the Saint-Laurent Boarding College for boys in France. The school is home to a secret society, the Alpha Fraternarii, formed after the French Revolution, with members from the sons of the wealthiest and most influential families in France. Each year, the Wicked Chase occurs, a time when the elite members bid to participate and 4 will have the right to chose another student to chase, subdue, and claim as theirs. The other students, the “prey”, do not know who has chosen them or why. They are invited to participate, must sign a NDA, and if they evade capture for 2 hours, they win a lot of cash. If they are the last one captured, their captor claims them as theirs through an initiation, and they then become a new member of the Brotherhood.

This time, Olivier is the prey chosen by Alexandre. This is Olivier’s third time participating, having been captured early during the two previous Chases. Each time, the same person has chased him from horseback, using an Argentinian bolo as his weapon of choice against Olivier. Olivier is not as frightened as he was the two previous times, and he defiantly stands up to his pursuer both physically and verbally, as he tries to elude him.

Alexandre has watched Olivier over the course of this school year, drawn to the young man by his looks, his intelligence (he works in the school library and reads constantly), his kindness, his loneliness, and his need for touch. Determined to have him, Alexandre chooses Olivier and pays handsomely to participate and to win the Chase this time. pursuing him on horseback again and finally getting the chance to claim him.

This is a dark series so be sure to read the trigger warnings beforehand. I didn’t feel this one was a dark as book 2, Trapped, basically because Alexandre seemed gentler and less sadistic than Arsene in the previous book. These books are engaging and compelling, pulling the reader in from page 1 and dragging them to the end. I found I really liked both of these MCs, even though Alexandre is entitled and selfish, but he also showed care and concern for Olivier’s well-being during the Chase. These books are relatively short and the world building of the school and the secret society is fascinating. If you like dark, I would recommend this book and the series.

You guys, I think this novella just may be my favorite of the Wicked Chase series. Now I know we don’t have Gold Mask’s story yet, but the story of Oliver and Alexandre is *chefs kiss*

Ever since Book 1, the bronze mask with the bola has intrigued me. He’s the only one that chases his prey on a horse and takes them down with stones. If you’ve read the first two novellas, then you’ll know his victim keeps returning to every chase. Why you ask? I mean, who would want to be chased and have stones thrown at them time and time again? Well you see, our Oliver has caught a glimpse of who’s beneath the bronze mask, and he wants more of Alexandre.

Oliver is Saint-Laurent’s librarian. He’s a first year student and overcoming with a breakup. While he may be smaller than the boys at school, he’s also a fighter. Reading is his sanctuary, and doing just that is what catches the eye of Alexandre.

Alexandre is a playboy, but with more of his friends finding their true love, he’s ready to settle down. And Oliver is the one he wants to fill that void. Oliver may put up a good fight, but there’s no denying Alexandre. He’s possessive yet sweet, loyal, and so charming. Plus he’s one hell of a hunter.

If you love the world of The Initiation Series featuring the Alpha Fraternarii Brotherhood where anything happens, and I do mean anything, then you’ll definitely love these novellas about the Wicked Chase. “Hunted” may be a novella, but I hard a hard time letting this one end. If you’re not familiar with this world, I would recommend checking out the triggers before reading.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

Gah, can Lola Malone write primal play! Hunted is the third novella in The Wicked Chase and this story centers on Bronze Mask, the horse rider. Though a self-proclaimed player, Alexandre has been watchful of and enamored with his timid librarian, Olivier, for quite some time. This isn’t Olivier’s first time in the Wicked Chase, but it is the first time that he and Bronze Mask get their moment in the spotlight. And what a moment it is! This pair has chemistry for days!

This story is definitely spicy and you get a true sense of just how much Alexandre likes the hunt. Alexandre eventually decides that he wants someone special of his own, and he is all too happy to give Olivier chase. Its obsession at first glance for Alexandre.

Olivier has some trauma from his past in terms of his familial relationships. Alexandre is there to welcome him into the brotherhood, where he will never be/feel alone again. This story is a dark romance. You can definitely feel the anticipation in this one. There are trigger warnings at the beginning of this novella. So be sure to check them out prior to reading this story.

I’m looking forward to Golden Mask’s story, up next. He’s been teased throughout the series and I’m excited that his novella is going to be out soon!

Olivier is from a rich family, but he still at the bottom of the chain in school. He always lonely so he spends most of time reading. He was bullied as a kid, and so much happens in his childhood. So he lives in his own bubble. The wicked games bring out something in him. Now he keeps on coming to see the bronze mask again. I like that Olivier, grow more confident on what he wants in his life. I also like how he wants to be near bronze mask man, wants to get to know him. Alexandre has everything and however he wanted. Until he realizes he wants someone of his own. He loves to hunt because all his family members do it. Also like to stalk people especially Olivier . I like how he wants to know more about Olivier not use him. Also like that he confident in what he wants, and he will do anything to get it. He also makes sure that Olivier is fine throughout the hunted then to the alter. Both of them together, brings out a more confidence in each other. Like how they fight and back talk to one another during the game. Also like the way they both gravitate towards one another it’s amazing. This whole series so far is amazing. From the spicy to the fact that they all stalk there prey and know what they want. I can’t wait to see what Lola writes next.

I received an E-ARC from the author, and this is my honest review

Before I begin my review, I think i need a whole separate book to figure out how Lola Malone call pull off such epic novellas. Each and everyone increases the bar and makes it more exhilarating to read and anticipate for the next one.

Hunted maintains the exhilarating pace of the previous novels. The intense narrative, along with its spicy and tender moments, left me craving more. Malone's signature blend of passion and tenderness prevails through in this novella, making it a definite read from finish to start.

Alexandre falls for Olivier when he sees him for the first time and makes it his goal to make him his. Enter the wicked games and the third time becomes the charm for them. Alexandre pulls all the stops to ensure that he attains the heart of his obsession and ensure that nothing will separate the two. The Chemistry between them is intense raw and one that makes you wonder how much of a badass can Edouard be? Lol.

Overall, Hunted proves Lola Malone's skill in expanding the world of Saint Laurent's and I am heavily anticipating for Golden Mask's story on September 7th!.

Third time lucky, seems to be working for Olivier in the wicked chase. He's more used to the rules now, he knows what he has to do, but can he survive the hunt and become a brother. This time round he knows what his hunter looks like, he now knows his name and it seems to make the hunt even more real for him. Though can he win the chase and be claimed by the one who chose him, Alexandre.

Alexandre has chosen his prey three times, but tonight is his turn to get the one he wants and he's going all out to show his claim. Even if that means bringing his blood brothers there to help him in one last chase through the woods.

I love the concept of these books, because i've been getting into the hunter/prey tropes recently and this is super hooking. I also enjoy that the prey always feel like they will never be chosen or wanted, only to be chosen and wanted by the hunters that chose them. It makes it feel like everyone can be chosen by someone, even if we don't see that person to begin with. I can't wait to meet the final couple in the next book.

Well Lola Malone has done it again and delivered another home run right outta the ballpark . To be completely up front I’m not typically someone who enjoys reading novellas of any type . That being said Lola’s ( wicked chase series truly is the exception. Oliver and Alex omg I seriously adored these two so freaking much . I cannot really put into words what it was but the second I opened the first page and started their journey I just felt such a strong pull to both . Two people who who are complete opposites yet have this undeliverable connection to each other . Dark , raw and gritty , steamy, intriguing and suspenseful, heartbreaking and heartfelt, drama , angst , tragedy, non stop action, twists and turns, moments that will leave you speechless, have you yelling outta frustration, make you smile , laugh, sob like a baby and keep you rooting so freaking hard . I really do feel like I was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . What a emotional rollercoaster, a must read and chefs kiss 💋

Thank you to the author for this ARC! The entire series has been such an enjoyable ride!

This one was fun especially since this captive has been in the games and chased before. Now he finally gets his chance.

I love the struggle, how each of the characters struggles with being taken, like it's against their will, but it's more to their will than they even realize. It takes a lot of suspended belief, but it is done so well. It makes it more romantic and enjoyable.

This one was a bit darker than the first two as this one has pain involved. But I think the last one will be even darker as it contains the knife.

I love how each story has the characters struggling with someone we didn't know about or that no one else around them knew about. I am so excited to get to the last novella. I have a feeling it'll be unlike any of the others. I think it might be darker and even more captivating and I can't wait!

I have been waiting for the Bronze Mask, and finally, he's here. The third installment in The Wicked Chase series is my favorite. Alexandre and Olivier's storyline is fascinating. The layers in the story and characters are flawlessly balanced. The connection and chemistry are a perfect match. In between the layers story of Alexandre and his chosen one are the Alpha Fraternarii; who must never be forgotten. The Elite. The Privileged. This is a standalone, but I recommend reading these novellas from the beginning to learn more about this world. Each Novella spills more secrets and sets the stage for each one going forward. It's a more pleasurable reading experience. Make sure that you check your cw.

Ok! We finally have Mr Bronze Mask! This is novella 3 in the Wicked Chase series, set in the Saint Laurent world. I have to say, I think Bronze Mask is my favorite!!! Alexandre was the perfect combination of possessive and tender. While he was ruthless, and the use of his bola was at times wicked, we also saw him often checking in with Olivier, seeking his consent. I am also an absolute sucker for primal play so yeah, Alexandre is my winner! This had the same amazing heat we have seen in the previous books, but somehow I felt a bit more of a connection with these two. I am super curious to read Gold mask, I think he might give Alexandre a run for his money!

After reading Trapped, I was eager to read the next story in this spicy series.
Hunted is dark and lived up to my high expectations. Once again there is a possessive hunter, this time wearing a bronze mask. He chases his prey through the forest on his horse Nova for the third time, determined to possess him this time.
Olivier, the prey, is a quiet, introverted librarian. However, his inner wolf is not as easy to tame as Bronze imagined.
I love this couple! Nova Kane gets under my skin with her interesting characters and finely spun stories. I can't wait to read Golden's story!

Bronze Mask (Alexandre) has be watching Olivier, the timid librarian for sometime and has fallen for him the more he is a timid mouse. This is a Olivier’s third time doing this run so he already knows the rules of the games but he doesn’t know how he has been able to play as many times, as the rules are you one get to play once. Alexandre and Olivier have playing a little game of cat and mouse between the hunts and has gotten very lucky to be safe at times. I wish theses stories will get more of them and are longer as they are so fast paced and steamy you just want to know what happens afterwards once the games have ended. One more game left and can’t wait.

Alexandre and Olivier are perfect together, and this might be my favorite of the 3 so far!
Each chapter was thrilling, and I was excited to see what happened next between Alexandre and his timid librarian 🤭.
I'm excited to read the 4th and last novella in September for Gold mask because I can tell he's going to be trouble 🫣
I just love all these mysterious bad boys and their chosen ones.

Lola's writing is so creative and descriptive that it just pulls me right in every time!

I’ve got lost in this world Miss Malone has created. This was quick read, but how I have loved every single minute of reading this book. It has become my favorite.
Everything in the world of Saint Laurent is dark, intriguing, mysterious and it gets better with each novella.
Olivier and Alexandre share an amazing chemistry that can be felt on the pages.
And now the countdown has begun for the Golden Mask, I am so very excited for that one. My expectations are high, but I’m sure Miss Malone will deliver.

Hear me out, it's this one! THIS is my favorite wicked chase novella! Olivier and Alexandre are so perfect. The 'timid librarian' and his Hunter are just chef's kiss. I really like the use of Bolas as the weapon of choice this time around. I also enjoy how the boys of the novellas have their own little group that is all interconnected, much like the main boys from the novels. I have to say, Lola never makes the hunter/prey trope get boring. each novella is unique, each couple has their own quirks and love story. I can't wait for the next one!

Absolutely loved it! More of a novella but oh so hot! So well written and such a great dynamic between Olivier and Alexandre (Bronze mask). Olivier was such a quiet, timid person who worked as a Librarian and had a tough past but eventually gives in to the Brotherhood and joins "the chase' as he knows it will be Alexandre hunting him down! Such a great read that I absolutely loved. Now off to read the previous books in this series and this one again!

The Wicked Chase is a primal play, a hunt. The Alpha Fraternarii has this game set for the ultra rich to play with their mates before claiming them.
It’s Bronze mask’s turn at getting his chosen one. And boy is Alexandre ready. Olivier is a timid librarian on the radar of a predator. And boy is it hot!! The spice and the primal play is ramping up more and more as we go along.
Each story in The Wicked Chase is dirtier and more depraved than the last and I can’t wait for Golden mask’s story next!
