Mountain Man's Baby Surprise follows the love story of Alex and Emily. Emily works at a bed and breakfast in the mountains of Virginia. When Alex has car trouble and must wait to fix it, he requests a room. Even though there are no rooms available, Alex is adamant about staying there. It turns out Alex owns the place, so as a compromise, Emily offers him space in her room. Initially, Alex is very grumpy, impatient, demanding, and rude to Emily. They realize they went to high school together. Emily confesses she used to have a crush on Alex, who was a football player. Close proximity and circumstances force them to get closer and confront their feelings for each other. They attempt to enjoy the benefits of being together without commitment but decide they would rather give a real relationship a try. Emily is exactly who Alex needs in his life and is able to soften him up a bit.

Overall, this book is just okay. I did not like Alex's character at all. I didn't like how he treated Emily initially or how he responded when she told him the big news. He overstepped a lot and made a lot of assumptions.

Narration:
Michael Parker and Glinda Stone narrate this story. Glinda Stone did a wonderful job voicing Emily and gave her character a lot of personality. I was not impressed with the way Michael Parker voiced Alex. While I understand Alex is a businessman, I envisioned a very different voice for the "mountain man" character. It felt like Alex was in a board room. His voice was all business, professional, and a bit monotone. I disliked the male narrator so much that I almost did not finish the audiobook.

Thanks to Mia Sterling and Booksprout for the ALC.

Emily has just finished her jobs at the B&B and is now sitting behind the reception desk, reading her. But her peace is broken by a big grumpy, blue eyed suited man. Alex’s car breaks down in a small town, where one of the B&Bs he owns is. He demands a room even though there are no rooms available. Emily, is very calm and offers him a room. It is her room. Alex is first not impressed , until Emily tells him again, it this is or a hotel chain. So they end up sharing her room. Both realise that they went to high school together. Alex the jock and Emily the nerd. Alex is grumpy and demanding , while Emily can’t seem to get over her high school crush, both have a attraction to the other and things get steamy. Slowly the deal of benefits only, grows into a very gently and caring friendship and more. Between secrets of the past, interfering parents , gossips and two pink links.
I fell in love with these characters, at first wanting to shout at them, and them shout again. As the characters grow and the characters grow, I fell in love with them. I rooted for them.
The right amount emotions, growth, humour and sexy heat.

nothing about this book was believable

I’m not sure why I finished this book because there was literally nothing redeeming about. The tropes were horrible when combined…’billionaire’ boss who’s car breaks down - who sleeps in his employee’s private quarters with no second thoughts - then knocks her up - and also was a past (spoiler alert) criminal - plus throw in a fake boyfriend, too. It’s all so shallow, with no character development, no chemistry, no conflict or resolution. Who (again spoiler alert) gets over a ‘by the way, I was a ***list criminal offense here***’ with an ‘oh, ok. That’s not who you are anymore- even though I really don’t know who you are b/c I’ve only been sleeping with you for a week and we’ve had no real conversations or time alone together’. And that’s just one example. Don’t waste your time with this one.

Emily running a bed and breakfast nestled in the mountains for about two months.
One day she was quite reading a book in the reception,
A man came unounced asking for a room but the inn was full she told him that she can’t help, but he didn’t believe that in his own property there is no room.
She didnt knew that he was the owner, he was so bossy that even she had a room she did’nt wanted to help.
But than he introduced himself and she told him to share her room.
He recognised her because they went highschool together he was a famous football player and she was one of those nerds that have an answer for the teacher.
But now she became attractive and he couldn’t take his eyes from her.

I loved reading the book, he was a grumpy as hell everything she does he always complain.
It makes you laugh as well.
Well done Author 👏🏻

Emily is sitting at the desk of an inn where she works A gentleman covers in and tells her in no uncertain terms her wants a room She tried him they're booked. He replies he owns the place there better be a room! She's decides to share her room after all it's for one night. Unfortunately it isn't and he offers her a deal. Should she take it? He is obnoxious and feels entitled but she can't ignore that he is good looking and in other things too. Then their liason is interrupted by WHAT?!??
An intense story that will have the reader wanting to do physical mayhem on Alex and not in a good way!!!.

I borrowed Mountain Man's Baby Surprise, by Mia Sterling from the Kindle Unlimited Program as part of the anthology Bad Boy Grumps & Baby Bumps: An Enemies-to-Lovers, Contemporary Romance Boxset.

The mountain Man is Alex Mason, a self-made billionaire and he has car trouble in the Virginia mountains and finds himself on a Spring Break week in a town where he owns a bed and breakfast so he goes to get a room while his car is fixed. The problem is that the B & B is full and so he ends up sharing a room with the receptionist, Emily. Small world situation when she turns out to be a girl he was in class with in high school ten years ago. He ends up sharing a room with Emily in her quarters at the inn.

He starts out demanding and nasty with a short temper when things don't go his way. He comes to realize that Emily is great with the guest, keeps the inn clean, has a great personality and is a fun person to get to know. She changes from being resentful to learning that Alex knows what he wants, gets the job done (including shoveling snow and chopping wood when a blizzard comes late in March).

The face lots of outside problems as their relationship move forward, like the blizzard, gossip in the inn and small town, the unexpected arrival of her parents as they get to know one another and get closer. I loved the ending!

Emily is running the bed & breakfast that Alex owns. When he breaks down in town he demands a room and thinks she will kick someone out. So, she decides to clean her room and share it with him. Things don't start off well because he isn't happy about the room or sharing it. Then he complains about what she doesn't around the business. Soon they decide to an arrangement of sleeping together without strings. Things get complicated when others learns about them sharing her room. Will this turn into something more between them? Or will he leave her behind?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Well written and narrated romance read / listen. Sterling delivers a smooth flowing storyline with our main characters Alex and Emily who knew each other in high school. Alex comes to take a room where Emily works but there are no rooms left so she offers to let him stay with her. Even though Alex is grumpy and demanding, Emily can't seem to let go of the crush she had back in school. When these close quarters bring them together the heat intensifies only to have a couple of pink lines complicate things. A quick listen with a satisfying HEA.

Alex is a mountain man who is arrogant, obnoxious and very impatient. He owns the bed & breakfast where he ends up after his car dies on him. He gets there and demands a room from a fully packed b&b. Emily tries to humor him and cleans her room and agrees to share it with him. I didn’t understand why when he was so disagreeable. Later Alex realizes that they went to high school together and although he would like to talk to Emily about this, she is embarrassed to admit she had a thing for this football player who was a heartthrob that everyone wanted to date. As they are stuck in this room together adversaries become lovers and circumstances force them to decide to work things out together or apart. This was a fast and easy read.

This was an easy read. Alex’s car breaks down in a small town that happens to have a bed and breakfast property he owns. He demands a room even though there are no rooms available. Emily who runs the bed and breakfast ends up sharing her room with him. They discover that they went to high school together. Alex the jock and Emily the nerd. Even though Alex is grumpy and demanding Emily can’t seem to get over her high school crush and things get steamy. When two pink lines appear on a pregnancy test things get really complicated. Enjoy this small town grumpy billionaire romance. I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Emily runs the B&B, and the inn is full. Alex’s car breaks down, and he insists upon a room at the inn. Originally unknown to Emily, Alex owns the place. He refuses to stay anywhere other than the inn. As a compromise, Emily invites him to share a couch in her room. His car takes a while to get fixed. Things develop from there. It was a cute short story. Alex is a big overbearing jerk at the start. Emily is so kind, it could be detrimental for her. Alex needed someone like Emily to bring him back down to earth. The story was entertaining. The narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook and an voluntarily leaving my review.

I DON'T CARE FOR EMILY SHE SEEMS LIKE AN AIRHEAD, AND ALEX IS TOO FULL OF HIMSELF. EMILY'S PARENTS ARE OVERBEARING AND WON'T LET HER GROW UP. EVERONE IN THIS BOOK SEEMS VERY JUVINILLE AT TIMES. ALSO LACK OF PROTECTION USUALLY ENDS IN PREGENANCY. HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE? THE PULL-OUT METHOD IS NOT RELIEABLE WHEN DEALING WITH A LEAKY PIPE. I DID WONDER HOW A KEY CARD WORKED WHEN THE POWER WENT OUT. Hummmmm? THEY DIDN'T HAVE A BACK UP POWER SOURCE OR A BATTERY. ;<

Seriously disappointed 😞

This is my first time reading this author and to be completely honest, it seemed rushed and it left questions. Alex seemed like a hothead and Emily felt emotionally immature and lacking. Yes, they had their sweet moments, but it just felt like the author is new to writing. I not saying this to be mean, I'm just trying to be honest without beating around the bush. Idk, it had a good plot, but maybe the characters could have been better developed?

This is an ENDEARING, and AMAZING story with the perfect amount of romance that keeps you turning the pages. I loved how the storyline develops into a second chance and ends with a really great HEA. Mia has definitely written a one of a kind story to keep you going until the very last word is read.

billionaire meets his match

Alex’s car breaks down in the small town in which he owns a small bed and breakfast. Demanding a room, within a full house he is forced to room with Emily, the one and only live in staff opening not only his feelings for Emily but giving fodder to the gossiping busybodies.
A great story giving me a very happy ending.

This book cured my insomnia! it was hands down done of the worst books I've read start to finish. I was waiting for the plot twist, some sort of high point. Nothing. Both lead characters i could not stand, their personalities were terrible, he was a rich A-hole, and she let her mom push her around.. but was supposed to be an independent woman?

I guess this is precisely why you shouldn’t pick a book based on its cover and title lol, i mean don’t get me wrong. The book was OK. I gave it 3 stars, it probably should be 2.5 but whatever I doubt, I will listen to another book by this author, but it was OK. Just a nice little waste of time while I cleaned up. lol

Alex and Emily

Sex without a relationship. Does that really [ever] work. Alex doesn't seem like a good guy as our story starts, so it seems odd to me that Emily willingly enters even a just sexual relationship with him. To each her own, I guess.

Not my usual genre

This wasn’t a usual genre for me, but I won it as part of a Goodreads giveaway and felt I should give it an honest review. The character development was decent, but not amazing and the book was quite predictable.
