Much from this book has caused me to self-reflect on my own life and how many days I spend swimming upstream. Whether it’s issues at work with different clients, or issues in my own home with an appliance breaking down, I have been unsuccessful at going with the flow through all of it. It has made me beat my head against the wall most days, for lack of a better term.
What this book describes is the opposite, as the author is able to describe this fundamental change in our own existence and truly going with the flow. There’s so much to be gained in this wisdom, and it can absolutely flip the script on our lives and how we perceive new challenges that arise.
“The universe is an extremely complex interconnected, and dynamic whole that can only be understood from the perspective of continuous flow and change.”
This is precisely what Adrian points us to — existing as a conscious part of the whole. I cannot talk about the book without talking about the man behind the pages.
First, I want to mention that Adrian had been the living statement of divine truth long before he wrote TaoTuning. Beyond his words, Adrian’s actions and presence reflect his commitment to meaningful and sacred living.
The message in TaoTuning feels like being hugged by a friend who knows our deepest longing and gently guides us toward the fulfillment of that destiny.
Adrian is a loving and wise man with a vision for humanity. His book encourages us to know our divinity, and then honor our unique expression by flowing with it as the divine being we have always been.
Every page of this book is infused with knowledge that invites us to be true, whole, and peaceful.
It’s a book of love truly — a gift to you and me to facilitate our individual and collective greatness. Its wisdom is fresh yet primordial — practical yet transcendental. It's a book that provides us with a stable ground for profound insights that can change and transform our present experience and beyond.
TaoTuning is a beautiful offering to anyone ready to live in harmony and constant alignment with grace.
I first started to read about Tao about 20 years ago and I am thrilled to add this book to my collection. Emery does an excellent job in explaining how Tao is a personal journey in finding peace and balance within ourselves and the world around us. The book expands on a few subjects that I was not familiar with like the Paradigm Shift, and Holograms & Probabilities. His concepts are easy to understand. I also thought Emery was very creative in coming up with the word “powah”, meaning “an inner attribute of strength and self-centeredness that has nothing to do with power over another.” This is a valuable addition to any collection on Taoism or personal development.
Finding the right balance in life is incredibly important. It is hard to find a good book that really encapsulates the ideology and actually is able communicate it to their readers. This book is one that does that in a way that is relatable and enjoyable. I think the book was well-written and organized in a way which just made sense. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to really find the “flow” in their own lives. To find something that you love and are truly passionate about is a gift. The author incorporates this in his writings and helps the reader strive beyond their personal standard of what is best. Overall, I was impressed with the way this idea was portrayed. Well done!
A thought-provoking book that emphasises finding creativity, self-actualization, and balance. The author combines a blend of contemporary methods with Taoist philosophy. He does a fantastic job of combining traditional philosophical knowledge with contemporary issues. I valued the hands-on activities that let me apply the ideas to real-world situations. The breath technique that was detailed in the book was something I found appealing. It was useful to me in determining the flow state that the author discusses. All in all, I think this book is beneficial to everyone. It is quite advantageous to incorporate the Taoist concept and show how applicable and approachable it is in our contemporary society.
This is a great start on your personal journey to optimize your way of living. The segment on religion was utterly fascinating and for that bit alone I'm so glad to have read this book. A temple to honor life is stuck with me, I am definitely rethinking my life. I enjoyed how throughout the book, Emery shares personal anecdotes intertwined with sturdy information to keep it interesting. These stories not only inspire but also offer a sense of community, showing readers they are not alone in their quest for balance. Overall an insightful read and my introduction into Taoism, I will be recommending to some friends.
An insightful book that focuses on one achieving balance, self-actualization, and creativity. The author uses Taoist philosophy with a mix of modern techniques. He does a wonderful job of mixing the ancient wisdom from the philosophy to modern world problems. I appreciated practical exercises that were presented to place the concepts into my life. This book is best for someone who’s trying to figure out the right path for them in life. It’s about sitting down and getting to know who you truly are and unraveling all the things you’re trying to ignore to find what your passion is and going after it. This book does an incredible job of making you think about the hard things and self-reflect on who you are as an individual. I enjoyed this book because it’s not tailored to a specific kind of life. The guidelines are general, easy to understand, and applicable to anyone’s life. The book was extremely well-written and easy to follow. I highly recommend.

In the first book, the writer established the groundwork for making independent choices that influence our futures. Now, he offers guidance on effectively implementing those choices by teaching us to utilize the concept of flow in our daily lives. This book is essential for anyone seeking to uncover the keys to a balanced and purposeful life. Adrian Emery’s TaoTuning: The Art of Flow is a thoughtful and encouraging companion for anyone wanting to move through life with more clarity and ease. Emery breaks down big spiritual ideas into simple, practical guidance, making the concept of “flow” feel real and attainable. The book offers a refreshing reminder that fulfillment comes from alignment rather than force. It’s an easy read with a gentle tone, and it leaves you with a sense of calm motivation to trust your path and live more intentionally.
I really enjoyed this book. It has a calm, reassuring vibe that makes you feel like you’re getting advice from someone who genuinely understands how messy life can get. The ideas about flow and finding your direction aren’t presented in a heavy or complicated way, they’re simple, relatable, and surprisingly practical. I found myself pausing a few times just to reflect on certain lines because they actually made sense for real life, not just theory. Overall, it’s a gentle read that leaves you feeling lighter, more grounded, and a bit more confident about the path you’re on.
This book was a pleasant surprise. It’s written in a way that feels down-to-earth, almost like a friend reminding you to slow down and trust yourself a little more. The ideas about living in flow aren’t presented as some magic trick, but as something you can actually apply day by day. I liked how it encourages you to stop fighting everything and start paying attention to what feels right internally. It’s a short read, but it leaves you with a sense of clarity and a quieter mind which is something I think most of us could use.
I found this book genuinely refreshing. It talks about “flow” in a way that actually makes sense for real life, not just in a dreamy, abstract way. What I appreciated most is how it nudges you to let go of forcing things and instead pay attention to what feels aligned. It’s the kind of book that quietly shifts your perspective without trying too hard. By the end, I felt a little more at ease, a little more open, and a lot more aware of how much smoother life can feel when you stop pushing against everything.
Reading this book felt like taking a deep breath. It doesn’t try to overwhelm you with complicated ideas, it simply encourages you to step out of your own way and pay attention to the natural rhythm of your life. I appreciated how honest and relatable the examples were; it made the whole concept of “flow” feel much more approachable. It’s a gentle reminder that things don’t always need to be forced and that clarity often comes when you finally slow down. A calm, reassuring read that stays with you.
"True happiness comes from within knowing you create your own reality the way you want, the way you choose as a sovereign being."
I feel like this quote from the introduction represents the book well. I think the lesson in this novel comes across a bit hard as for readability. Overall, the whole book is pretty good in turning the reader toward Taoism and what it stands for. Riding the wave of life and staying optimistic through it all by keeping your mind open.
This book is genuinely well-written, inspiring you to accept your divine essence and pointing you in the direction of a fulfilling, tranquil life. More than just words, Adrian's actions demonstrate his strong devotion to living a holy life. The book softly guides you toward your destiny, making it seem like an embrace. Its new and old knowledge provides useful insights that have the power to change your experience. Its topic is effectively conveyed, making it relatable and pleasant.
The analogy likening the path of life to riding a wave is genius. I never thought of it like that. This analogy describes you personal Tao or flow, as in ‘going with the flow’ and not trying to squeeze yourself into a mold that may not be for you in the first place. This book contained so many aha moments and nuggets of truth for me.
Whenever I hear about East philosophies and religions, the word Taoism would always come to mind. Reading this book made me understand that Taoism is all about the flow. It is all about a journey of one's own destiny. I feel like my life has some purpose after reading this book fully.
This book had a surprisingly soothing effect on me. It’s not preachy or overly mystical, it just offers simple ideas that make you rethink how you move through your day. I liked how it encourages you to stop fighting every little thing and start noticing where life is already trying to guide you. It’s an easy read, but it leaves you with a sense of quiet confidence, like you’ve been reminded of something you actually knew deep down.
