Aaron is an Australian author of children's books and artist who until the mid-2000s was also an actor. His award winning picture books include Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley, The Ghost of Miss Annabel Spoon and the best-selling Pig the Pug.
In the field of acting, he is probably best known for his lead roles in two television dramedies, 1994's The Damnation of Harvey McHugh, for which he won an Australian Film Institute Award, and 2003's CrashBurn, before retiring from performance in 2005.
I am not sure this should count as a book, but I did read it in a short time. Very funny and silly, I like the idea of animals that are vilified for what they are (a wolf, shark, snake, piranha, and a spider) trying to be good guys. Unfortunately they are mis-represented and their actions mis-characterized despite their best intentions. Too funny.
My only complaint was I laughed out loud and I was reading it on public transit.
I definitely see a live action remake with Lucy Lui, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz leading the cast. I think they have the quirky sense of humour that would carry this off.
