An antique shop owner has to deal with her past and the man she left behind two years ago. The man who reappeared in her life to save it.

I have no clue why romance heroines always abandon the yummy, sexy, tall, dark, handsome, hot guy who loves them enough to propose, because they want to put down roots. I think you can put down roots wherever you can as long as you have said guy stand beside you.
Well, the heroine in this story abandoned the secret government agent hero, because of all the hang-ups from her childhood spent living with her mother in a pink van. Go figure.
Lucky for her, someone wanted her dead - as revenge against the hero - and said hero came barging into her life after two years determined to protect her.

Unfortunately, I didn't detect much sparkage with the heroine running hot and cold (set in marrying a boring banker!), and they severely lacked in chemistry for me to actually enjoy this romantic suspense - emphasis on romantic - story.
But the tension and suspenseful buildup to the big showdown (that fizzled somewhat - I definitely expected more) was good enough, and the hero yummy enough to hold my attention. Now, if only the heroine would've been one of the two friends Claire surrounded herself with.
