Sergey has defeated the Sovereign’s massive army and cleared out the roving island. He’s ready to head to Berlin, but there’s just one the other inhabitants of the spacetime ocean are drawn to the shelter like flies to… well, like moths to the flame, and thanks to the World Heart, it’s glowing like crazy!
The story is still very entertaining. Unfortunately, it had less interesting city buiding.
Cons - The "boys in town" plot was sometimes aggravating. I had mixed feelings when they bought themselves professional prostitutes.. - The protagonist is a real *sshole towards his lovely summoned creature. - The progress on Earth when new races arrive is very inconsistent. - The allied orcs are b*stards too. One evil deed begets another.. - A lot of new potential characters get introduced at random moments but their stories are not continued. - The new citizens from the shards don´t get screened properly for some reason.. - Throwing dissenters to the zombies seems excessive as he just could send them to Earth.. - The story gets more harem vibes..
Fantastic Freaks and where to Hire Them is the latest book in this series, and we see that the main character isn't messing around anymore, (ok, well, he's still messing around, but now it's with a purpose). He wants the best people, aliens, monsters, freaks, ...) he can find, because he has a plan, and he's going to save the earth whether it wants it or not. Really good story here, and if you've read either of the previous books, then you already know this guy is nuts, so don't ask, just go grab the book, and enjoy the craziness that is book number 3 in this series. But, just for reference, 750 acres is *not* 1.2 square miles, it's 6,187.50 square miles. That means the shelterwas over 32 million square feet, not 8.6 million. (sorry, wrong measurements are a pet pieve of mine.)
Each book in the series seems to be going down in quality. Confusing and at times completely random. This one follows that trend profusely. At one point, the main character is literally raped by a monster woman, then turns around and it’s completely fine with it and continues to do business with her. At a different point, there is a completely pointless tentacle sex section that has no relevance to storyline at all. I don’t think I’m gonna be following the series any longer.
I got an ARC of this book to check the translation from Russian to English. I enjoy this series so even though I received an ARC I still also read it on KU. This is just a goofy fun.
If you spot any mistakes that I might have missed please let the publisher know. They are extremely good at pulling the books and correcting any errors.
This rambling tale has the focus of a four year old recounting their week. It rambles, jumps around, spends too long on meaningless minutiae, and lacks a point. This is tolerable in small children learning to interact; it is unacceptable in a published book by a grown adult.
Dmitry writes a really interesting story, the typos/spelling and grammar errors detract somewhat from enjoying it. A good English editor would help tremendously.
What is a Boss to do when destroying zombie infected people becomes too boring? Why not try fishing in the Universe for random fragments of other worlds?! I am ready to find out what the latest inseminated aliens create in the next installment.
