Grey In Between

Rate this book
In bright red, bold letters, the bill read FINAL NOTICE. Greyson knew it might be time to use her gift in a different way. She'd have to get creative. Working two jobs wasn't cutting it. Not when she had to attend Field for her student teaching placement.

She just wanted to teach little kids how to paint and peel glue off their fingers. So imagine her surprise when she was placed not only in a high school classroom, but also with Maverick DeMarko’s ex-girlfriend. Who was obviously not over him. Not that she could blame her. She could barely keep her hands off of him herself.

Just when Greyson is about to get her heat turned off, Maverick’s Uncle Jimmy takes a sudden interest in her. Which leads her to the track, and more information about her gift and her dead mother.

And Maverick's running around trying to keep her out of trouble, while Greyson seems to be running towards it.

A small dog on a bed surrounded with a book, stickers, and a sweater.

I absolutely loved 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗡! This book is the perfect continuation of A TOUCH OF GREY, seamlessly blending mystery, romance, and a touch of the supernatural. Greyson’s struggle to find her way out of her financial woes is entertaining, and her unexpected placement in a high school classroom adds a delightful twist. The chemistry between Greyson and Maverick is electric, and their banter is endlessly entertaining. Watching their relationship develop from the first book is a real treat. I also love Greyson's relationship with her brother, Ben. The suspense throughout kept me hooked, and the reveal at the end completely caught me off guard. What a way to end this book! Ava Cates has crafted a story that keeps you eagerly turning pages. I can't wait for the next book to see where Greyson and Maverick’s journey takes them. Highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense with a supernatural twist!

What now Grey???

This was a fun and fast read. This book picked up shortly after the ending of Book 1.

The plot thickens in this one and although one mystery is essentially solved, there’s more to the story and we are starting to get more questions as to what really happened to Greyson’s mom.

Maverick and Greyson’s relationship amps up this time and the witty, flirty banter is filled with innuendos but is fade to black/closed door. There’s enough interesting plot to keep me interested so the lack of on page spice isn’t necessarily a factor for me.

Ben, her younger brother, has some tricks up his sleeve this time and has a pivotal role in the main characters and events. We are left with another cliffy so be ready for a WTH moment!

My only main con, and was the same comment I made in book 1, I feel there could be more fleshing out of scenes and not such a choppy segue into parts. I’d like more background or information to make the story flow easier. Ex: Grey is talking in school and the very next sentence Maverick says something while they are in the car. Sometimes it can get a bit abrupt and just leaves you wanting something more.

Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing how the last book plays out!

I absolutely loved this book! This was the perfect continuation to A Touch of Grey. This book does a great job at blending mystery, romance, and a touch of supernatural flawlessly.

I loved seeing more of Grey and Maverick together and I couldn’t get enough of the banter between them. It was nice to see how their relationship developed since book one and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

There is definitely a lot of suspense to keep you hooked while reading this book. That reveal at the end sure caught me off guard in the best way. I need the next book immediately!
