Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother’s Best Friend is book two in the Holiday Brothers series by Willa Nash which is a pen name for Devney Perry. I read the first book in this series long enough ago that I’m embarrassed because it took me so long to come back to read the next one. This is Heath’s book and is was so cute. The time line for all three of these books seems to be pretty much simultaneous. You can read it as a stand alone, though.

Heath Holiday is one half of the twins, he and Tobias are the younger brothers of Maddox from the first book. Both Heath and Tobias work for their family’s business, Holiday Homes. He is twenty nine years old and his party days have been over for awhile. He and his best friend, Guy, had their wild days. But now he wants something permanent. He has the perfect house. He just needs the family that will someday make it a home.

Heath grew up with his friend, Guy. They did everything together. But secretly, Heath has always had a little crush on Guy’s younger sister. He kept it a secret because Guy was VERY protective of his sister but now he was going to have to try even harder to keep it hidden. Because she was going to start working at his family’s business.

Stella Marten is twenty seven years old. She has been a project manager for another company but realized she had outgrown the position. So she interviewed and got the job as the new project manager for Holiday Homes. She knows she will be perfect for this job. But there is one thing she is going to have to work on changing the minute she walks into that office on her first day. She is going to have to finally stop crushing on Heath Holiday. She has known him all her life and has been crushing on him for the last fifteen years. But it seemed like no matter what she did, he always treated her like a kid sister. Now they were going to be working together every single day so she had to give up the crush. Easier said than done, though.

“Stella Marten was as tempting as a wrapped gift under the Christmas tree.”

These two were so cute together in the beginning. All the blushes and awkwardness. And I have to mention Stella’s crazy change up on old sayings. It made me chuckle every time. It doesn’t take long for these two to finally give in to all the chemistry between them. But they work together. What will Heath’s dad think about them? And what about Stella’s brother, Guy? He was not going to be happy.

Were mistakes made? Yes they were. But these two can hopefully navigate through it all and find their way because it was obvious they needed to be together. I loved the way Heath was with Stella. He just saw her, accepted her and supported her. This was a super cute read and there are enough hints given that now I’m going to need to read Tobias’s book very soon to see how he gets out of the situation he finds himself in. I can’t wait.

Three Bells, Two Bows, and One Brother’s Best Friend was another great addition to Will Nash’s ‘Holiday Brothers’ series. I’m always here for a brother’s best friend book and this one was short and sweet and hit the spot!

Oh my gosh! I loved Stella! She was hilarious! Her ability to make sense out of her convoluted sayings had me grinning from ear to ear. I did feel really bad for her and what she was going through as her and Heath tried to keep the knowledge of their relationship away from her brother.

This couple starts out pretty hot and it just keeps getting hotter. Heath was determined to win Stella and I adored the thought he put into the way he did that. His protective instincts over her checked one of my biggest hero boxes making me like him all the more.

This was such a deliciously fun and steamy story, I wish it had been longer. I would have loved to have more of Stella, more of Heath and especially more of them together.

Three Bells, Two Bows & One Brother’s Best Friend - 3.5 stars
A Partridge & a Pregnancy - 2.5 stars

TBTB&OBBF starts off strong, with Stella’s discovery her longstanding crush on Heath Holiday, her older brother’s bff, is in fact not so unrequited after all. Even after all her frequent awkward & clumsy incidents around him over the years (so many more than she cares to count lol). I was all set to give this the edge over tNtN&tN(Holiday brothers novella 1/Natalie & Maddox) until the secret issue arose. The novella wasn’t ruined, but that plot device was kind of annoying. Nonetheless still a cute & very readable quick Christmas time romance. Just got a little more carried away than I would’ve preferred with the secret thing. 🤏

This is the second book in a series that happens pretty much simultaneously. They share some scenes and I'm pretty sure it makes more sense if you read in order. But maybe not?

Stella featured in a surprise compromising position in the first so we know going in that things will heat up between her and Heath. But that's kind of the premise of a romance story so I don't think that really told us anything. What I wasn't expecting is all the angst Stella has over a potential relationship with Heath. She has crushed on him forever and has had lots of contact because of the brother's best friend thing.

What I wasn't expecting was her giving any brain space to her brother because that guy (heh, his name is Guy) is a full-blown jerk. Nor does it make any sense for Heath, who is a fundamentally decent guy, to have anything to do with the snotweasel as a best friend. This makes their whole keeping the relationship secret a bit tired.

And that secret keeping hurt the story a lot. It cheapened their connection and was hard for me in proportion to how hard it was on Stella. I kept waiting for Heath to wake up to how ridiculous it was. Which actually didn't take as long as it could have.

I'm going to call this four stars because I did like the main characters quite a bit. Their joy in one another was unmistakable and very engaging, to me. I even grew to like Stella's deliberate malapropisms as it integrated with her character so well.

A note about Steamy: There was way more explicit sex in this one than in the first. I lost count, not because there were so many, but because I moved onto another book in between and they weren't that distinct. I do remember skimming a bit because frankly, only the first one or two had any meaning. I feel like it might have reached the upper range of my steam tolerance because it's such a quick read, but maybe not?

Thank you to Carly

for putting this book and series under my radar. I was thoroughly entertained reading this book. It’s a cute, fun read.

Stella is one hell of a hot mess. She is the star comedian in her world, especially with her wrong words of slang; Stella does explanations why she changed the words. I was scratching my head and kept saying “ That makes sense” she cracked me up.

For over ten years, Stella has had a crush on Health Holiday, her brother’s best friend. Now she is going to be working for his father’s company. She is determined to push the feelings down and keep them professional.

Health is doomed, with Stella now working for his father’s company. She is the most beautiful woman he has laid his eyes on and has feelings for her. Now he is going to see her every day. He keeps reminding himself, “He can't cross the line.” We all know he is going to. It all started with one kiss. Then a holiday Christmas party that is hot and heavy.

I was not a fan of Guy, Stella’s brother. Fortunately, for him, he did redeem himself. Oh, and Wendy, Stella’s BFF is a HOOT. This book just hit the spot and is a Fantastic Holiday Read.

Stella (h) and Heath's (H) holiday romance was light and cute with a touch of angst. Stella has had a crush on Heath for years but he's her brother's best friend and never seemed to notice her in that way. When she starts working at his family's company, it's revealed that he's wanted her too. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama (although both feel jealous at the idea of the other one with someone else - no scenes of them with others in this book) and neither are virgins (little detail on their histories, although H was a womanizer when he was younger but both have been celibate for months).

I really liked that since Stella and Heath have known each other since they were kids, there was a foundation of familiarity and shared memories. There's a bit of office romance, plenty of humor, and some steam. Stella's brother is a major concern for both of them and they do hide their budding relationship at first, which adds to the angst. But there's no third act break-up when it all comes to light and the epilogue is a year later with them very much in their HEA. There are also breadcrumbs placed for Heath's brothers' books, which follow different tropes.

2,5/5 ~ 5/10

5 Stella and Heath Stars

The Holiday Brothers series continues with the second standalone book which focuses on Heath Holiday and Stella , his best friend's little sister.
These books are gorgeous and have kicked my seasonal reading off to a fantastic start.
Heath and Stella have known each other for years during which time she has crushed hard on the more lighthearted , fun Holiday twin. Stella has been firmly off limits to Heath. Previously it was because she is his best friend's little sister, but now they are also work colleagues.

As they start to connect , Heath keeps the relationship on the down low from everyone. Our hero messes up but I loved watching him make it up to his girl.

Sexy , low angst , high fun quick read which ties in to the other two books but works well as a standalone.

Re read via audible December 2023. Excellent narration by Ava Lucas and Aiden Snow. Listening time 4h 11m. Still love this three book, quick festive read series.

Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother’s Best Friend was a hilariously fun read. It had me laughing and smiling the entire time. I loved watching Heath and Stella come together, they were sweet and totally sexy. As soon as I started reading, I was all in!

I loved Stella and her quirky personality and her spin on certain sayings. I loved getting to know her and hearing some of her embarrassing - and highly comical - stories and learning about her long-time crush on Heath. She was so endearing and I found her totally relatable. Heath was a hard-working sweetheart and I liked learning about him and how he felt about Stella. I loved the longing and looks between them and the conflicts they faced. I loved the building heat and flirting between them, creating some really steamy moments as well.

This was a light, charming story with just a bit of tension mixed in, it flowed well and filled me with so much anticipation. I enjoyed learning about Heath and Stella’s relationship with her brother and what they were up against. This was a well-rounded story filled with fantastic details that pulled me in. I like how it tied in with the other books I’ve read and the character mentions of the Holiday family, I adore them all!

This was pure entertainment and the perfect story to leave you happy and grinning with a wonderful happily ever after. On a personal note, I was totally thrilled to see a character named Gretchen, that little bit had me absolutely ecstatic! As someone who shares that name and doesn't see it often, it was like an extra cherry on top for me. I'm totally kicking myself for reading this story so fast but I couldn’t help it, it was addicting and laugh-out-loud funny.

3.5 Stars. The first book was so good, and I loved all the characters. In this second book, we get all the same characters, it's just focused more on Heath and Stella. Unfortunately, Stella's insecurity and very awkward moments made this book less pleasant. I still liked it, I just didn't think it was fantastic like the first book.

I knew that Heath would be my favorite brother. I’m not even holding out for Tobias! Heath is it for me. Another great holiday novella by the queen of small town romance herself. Stella has crushed hard on Heath their entire lives, pining away for him while he went through cheerleaders and sorority girls. He’s her brother’s best friend and wingman, and she doesn’t stand a chance with him. When she starts working for his family’s company, they’re thrown together even more, and she has to admit to herself that the attraction is there to stay.

What she doesn’t know is that Heath has always wanted her, but her brother Guy has declared her off limits to his friends, forever and always. But when Guy is a douchebag one evening and calls her out for her crush, Heath doesn’t hesitate to follow her after she storms out, declaring his own feelings and catching her off guard by kissing her. They start a secret relationship with one failed date after another, leaving Heath feeling guilty and Stella feeling frustrated.

I didn’t enjoy this quite as much as the first one, but Heath is super charming and Stella is super adorable. I hated Guy for most of the book, but I like that he got together with Wendy at the end. Hopefully she calms his ass down. But anywho, loved Stella and Heath so much and their ending was super cute. On to Eva and Tobias!

Stella has had a crush on her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember. When she sees him again at her new job, she is still fantasizing about him. Heath doesn't remember Stella being so beautiful, but he tries to keep his distance. Unable to avoid each other at their workplace, Heath and Stella start up a secret romance. But when Heath avoids telling his best friend that he is dating his sister, Stella wonders if he will ever bring their relationship out of the closet.

This was a cute contemporary romance with some funny scenes. I enjoyed the narration by Ava Lucas and Aidan Snow. My rating: 4 Stars.

Didn't like this as much as the previous novella, although I liked that it runs concurrently so we got glimpses of Heath and Stella at the family Christmas party, and in this one we see the party from their perspective. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the brothers best friend trope-it feels a bit too 'alpha male' for me. Not bad though. It's Christmassy but not excessively.

Truthfully I loved the storyline of Stella and Heath's love...

The only thing I didn't like about this book was how easy it was for the two of them to fall into one another... I was expecting more of a more realistic vibe when it came to them meeting.. All in all I feel like I was confused by the origin and how original it came across.

Unlike in the first book Stella and Heath's love story doesn't involve children but it does involve some very funny and cute comedy that I did really enjoy.. I wouldn't say that I enjoyed it more than the first one but I do think the third book in this series will be a better close for me :)

It had promise, but I was really disappointed in Heath throughout the story. He just never could muster to courage to tell his father and best friend that he wanted to be with Stella.

And when the their secret is revealed to Heath's BFF who is also Stella's brother, they both blame Guy (the brother) and accuse him of overreacting when he had been lied to his face?!

Of note, I wasn't Guy's fan, but still... Heath and Stella should have had the firmness to not hide their relationship. Especially since Stella was feeling so insecure about it.

3 1/2 "Secret" Stars

I've finally come to realize I don't care for the Brother's Best Friend trope. There are always secrets and lies and someone made to feel like crap. I get angry every time. Plus, I don't really understand what the problem is. If you don't know your bf wouldn't play your sister, then are y'all really bfs? And if you think they would, why are you their bf?

NT way...

With all that being said, many, many people will love this story. I did root for Stella and Heath. Happy reading!

Love the Holiday brothers and the storyline, but the dialogue felt artificial and not was organic at all. Still there were some laugh out loud moments which I always appreciate. Another quick freebie in the Audible library.
