Mr. Red: Mr. Series

Rate this book
After he nearly runs her over on his mountain bike, Scarlett Daniels never wants to see the jerk with the red, cloudy aura ever again. Even if he's the most attractive man she's ever seen. Between teaching yoga classes, personal training, and opening a gym with her two best friends, Scarlett doesn't have time for romance–and dating a new client is definitely not in the cards.

Matt Williams is only in town for as long as it takes to expand his real estate business, and then he's heading back to Texas where he belongs. After an unfortunate first meeting, Matt is determined to see the fiesta, blue-eyed vixen again, even if it means signing up for a gym membership in the suburbs of Washington.

Can Scarlett find a softer side to the mysterious Mr. Red in this steamy, enemies-to-lovers romance?

Author's This book is for mature audiences. Mr. Red is a spicy, standalone romance, with it’s own HEA, but other characters’ stories will be continued in the Mr. Series.

Please be aware that this book contains foul language, graphic sexual content, along with a possessive and temperamental hero. There is playful spanking involved but no violence between the main characters. It touches on parental rejection, domestic violence, stalking, anxiousness, and depression.

Don’t start if you plan on finishing in one setting my first by this author it won’t be my last. Scarlett well she is sweet when needed with a dash of spicy, will let you have it if pushed, a yoga instructor trying to open her own gym and while out nearly ran over by the most arrogant jerk has her in a mood despite being the most attractive man she has seen in a long while. Matt sexy as all get out billionaire looking for his next real estate business once he has achieved his goal, he is determined to back home to Tx but not until he gets to know the beauty he nearly ran over while out riding his bike, and so if joining the gym will get him closer to her then so be it let the workout begin. The magnetic pull is there between them and the more she is around him or with him the stronger the pull between them grows but will she give him a chance a real chance, will he still be in a rush to head home after spending time with her, will she see past his grumpiness, and can they find a common ground that leads to something more than a near miss accident?

I found this book to be a wonderful introduction to a new author for me. This was a titillating story about Scarlett Daniels, a yoga instructor/partial gym owner, and Matthew Williams, a real estate mogul. I am always a fan of a good slow burn romance and their initial meeting set them down the perfect path for this. Their chemistry and witty banter made it had for me to put this book down. As an added bonus - what I wouldn't give to have a nifty trick like Scarlett on seeing people's auras!

How awesome to read an original voice in dark romance! With an FMC who is unique and quirky (but not in an unsophisticated way) and our MMC as a big business (real estate) guy - it's two worlds colliding but it works. This is less about the brute physicality of a mating dance, and more a witty one-up-manship that gets you hooked.

MMC is terrible; FMC is spineless.

I regret reading this book. The MMC is a walking red-flag control freak who deserved to be punted into space after some of his actions. The FMC is weak-willed and spineless for someone who claimed to be a Type A planner. The only way this could have had an actual HEA is if she dumped the MMC and blocked his number.

Overall I found this story enjoyable! At some points I did find Scarlet (h) to be a bit insecure but it wasn't overly played. Matt was a bit overbearing and rash and I wish Scarlet egged him on more! The story had some spice and I enjoyed Scarlet’s friend’s commentary. This is recommended for all readers who enjoy light contemporary romance novels.
