Skvělý úvod do detektivního žánru :)

Dogdunnit is a fun picture that plays with the age-old conflict between cats and dogs. When crime has spread and cats are horrified by its aftermath, inspector Keyhole is sure there’s obviously only one culprit - dogs! But detective Purrlock Jones is not so sure and using her observational skills, she pursues another line of investigation. When the dogs are taken to court and all seems lost, little mouse Nibbler Watson takes the stand as a witness and that’s when we discover who is truly behind the mayhem…

Beautifully illustrated by the master Tor Freeman, the colours are inviting and the pacing is extremely well done. A sort of introduction to comics and graphic novels, the panels in this picturebook are key for the mystery to be slowly unfolded and ultimately solved.

All characters are extremely expressive and their interactions adds another dimension to the story, allowing us to pour over their feelings and discuss different emotional reactions. The depiction of the ‘heroes’ being female is also a very positive and inclusive twist on the idea of Sherlock Homes and Watson.

A lovely and fun read, especially for inquisitive and curious young children. Recommended ages 5-8
