Detective Billie Ann Wilde assesses the couple sitting awkwardly on plastic chairs in her interview room, certain she knows exactly what has happened to little Madison Harris. And they found Madison’s blood in John’s car…
With John arrested, Billie is certain she has put a killer behind bars, but it’s not long before she hears the heart-shattering news that another girl is missing. Sweet ten-year-old Kayla has also vanished on her way home from school, and with John in custody, it couldn’t have been him. Billie’s only lead is gone.
At Kayla’s house, Billie finds tracks leading to the gnarled trees surrounding the marshes. She races through the wetlands and sees a pale shape floating on the surface of the water. As Billie cradles Kayla’s half-drowned body, desperately hoping she got there in time, she winces when she sees a mark freshly carved into Kayla’s skin.

Is there danger hidden behind those private, imposing walls? As another mother finds her little girl gone, Billie will have to fight harder than ever to unlock the truth and save another innocent from being marked by a monster…

✅Find My Girl has so many twists and turns……it will have you guessing up to the very end. Billie Ann and her team start out investigating a murder and end up investigating a cult church. I am not quite sure where the author is taking us in Billie Ann’s relationships and family life. It seems like one step forward and then two steps back. A gripping and face paced crime thriller. Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
A missing girl sends Detective Billie Ann Wilder into overdrive in a race against the clock in Find My Girl by Willow Rose.
Detective Billie Ann Wilder is working to get her life back in line. Moving into a new apartment and fighting to get back custody of her children, she relies on her religious parents for help. But when a young girl goes missing, she jumps into action to find her. What follows is a string of kidnappings that send Billie into a religious cult that hits far too close to home. Can Billie solve the mystery before it is too late?
Find My Girl is high energy. It never lets off the gas for the entire story. The mystery was intriguing, and the first chapter drew me into the story. However, I found the writing to be very melodramatic. Everything was at a fever pitch. Billie didn’t just get into her car—she bound to her car door, ripping it open and clutching the wheel before jerking into a parking spot. It was hard to connect to the characters because of this. No one felt authentic, and the dialogue felt just as dramatic as the rest of the story. I wanted to like the characters and dive into the mystery, but it was just too hard with the writing style. I would have appreciated a slower story with more grounded characters.
Find My Girl is a thriller that never lets off the gas. Its unique twists will leave you guessing until the end.
International superstar and bestselling author Willow Rose (favorite author) returns with one of my favorite crime series, Detective Billie Ann Wilde, with the fourth installment, FIND MY GIRL.
In this emotional and riveting suspense, young girls go missing and collide with a past/present storyline involving a dangerous cult, revealing secrets of the past. The past is intricately woven into the current plot, adding complexity and mystery to this spine-chilling psychological suspense.
About...
Set in Florida, Detective Billie Ann Wilde is back, desperate, trying to save lives while being torn as her husband has custody of their children, living in her former family home after coming out as gay, and her dangerous job.
Now, she is in an apartment trying to survive and strive to get her children back. Her relatable struggles and unwavering determination make her a character you can't help but root for.
She is a dedicated, loyal, and tenacious detective who puts her heart and soul into all her cases. She strives for justice. There are cases to close, leads to follow, and lives to piece together. She is also a great, caring mother and friend, and she experiences struggles on the home front and at work.
When a young girl goes missing in the Florida marshes, all fingers point to the mom's boyfriend. However, when a second girl goes missing while he is in jail, and a body is found, it has a symbol branded on her skin that is the emblem of a church.
Is there something more sinister and evil going on in this secretive, cult-like religious community? Are there monsters hiding in plain sight?
Billie Anne will not rest until she finds the monsters killing young girls and every innocent child caught in this twisted web.
These 'monsters' are not just the physical perpetrators but also the dark forces and secrets that lurk within the cult and the community. How many secrets are yet to be unraveled?
My thoughts...
Billie Ann Wilde is a masterful, electrifying, intense series with a highly relatable detective you will root for. FIND MY GIRL is packed with twists and turns and brimming with emotion and heart.
Powerful, poignant, and utterly gripping, featuring a strong-willed female detective and well-developed characters with unforgettable twists
Like the other three books in the series, FIND MY GIRL is a captivating crime thriller that is suspenseful, intense, and deeply emotional. Rose keeps you hooked with heart and skill from the first page until the last— keeping you dying for more.
I adore Detective Billie Ann Wilde and enjoy her gritty personal and professional sides. In the end, your heart will go out to her, and I hope we get more, Billie Ann, as I want her to find happiness and balance in her life.
Rose keeps the suspense high with two gripping storylines, then and now, with multiple POVs. One involves the missing girls and others caught up in a cult (then/now), pulled in, and brainwashed by a leader. Billie Ann's personal and family life comes front and center with her past and present.
With its mysterious and malevolent leader, the dangerous cult adds spine-chilling drama and mystery to the story, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.
Inspiration...
I enjoy how Rose draws inspiration from real crimes and includes these stories and links in her Author's Note. You become invested in these stories. Trust me, you will go down a rabbit hole when researching. FIND MY GIRL was inspired by central Florida's Madeleine Sota case and the Waco Siege, which involved a raid on a religious cult compound near Waco, TX (a 51-day standoff).
I highly recommend the author and this series. As a Floridan, I enjoy books set in my backyard, and I love the author's twisty plot and strong character-driven style.
I have read all the books in the series and anxiously await the next! This series is unputdownable, and all are 5 Stars. Even though FIND MY GIRL can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them (in order) to better understand Billie Ann and her journey. I'm not sure how the author cranks out this many books a year (plus her other series/books)— very impressive!
I look forward to reading some of her other series and backlist in between new books.
FIND MY GIRL, and the series is for fans of the author and those who like smartly written crime thrillers with heart, such as Lisa Unger, Karin Slaughter, Lisa Gardner, and Christina McDonald.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review. I can't wait to see what Rose has in store for Wilde fans next.
Find My Girl by Willow Rose is a gripping and emotional thriller that plunges readers into a dark world of secrets, suspense, and heartbreak. The fourth installment in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series, this book raises the stakes with its chilling portrayal of missing children, hidden dangers, and the unyielding pursuit of justice.
The story begins with a devastating discovery: Madison Harris, a ten-year-old girl, is found dead in the marshlands. Her stepfather, John, becomes the prime suspect when damning evidence is uncovered, leading to his arrest. However, the case takes a shocking turn when another girl, Kayla, goes missing while John remains behind bars. As Billie Ann delves deeper into the investigation, she uncovers disturbing connections to a secretive church, its enigmatic symbol, and its possible ties to the disappearances.
Willow Rose masterfully weaves a complex narrative with multiple points of view, immersing readers in the thoughts and fears of her characters. Billie Ann’s character is a standout—resilient, compassionate, and determined despite the personal and professional challenges she faces. Her vulnerability adds depth to her relentless pursuit of justice, making her a relatable and inspiring protagonist.
The pacing is relentless, with short chapters and unexpected twists that keep readers on edge. The exploration of mature themes, including cult involvement and family conflict, adds a layer of emotional intensity to the story. Rose also continues to develop Billie Ann’s personal life, shedding light on her struggles and relationships, which makes the stakes feel even more personal.
While some twists might feel familiar to seasoned thriller readers, the fast-paced narrative and emotional resonance make this a standout addition to the series. Fans of Lisa Regan and Melinda Leigh will find much to enjoy in this atmospheric and suspenseful read.
Trigger warnings: kidnapping, child abuse, cult activity, and grief.
Thank you to Willow Rose, Bookouture, and NetGalley for the ARC. Find My Girl is an unforgettable read, perfect for fans of tightly plotted mysteries with heart. Don’t miss it when it releases!
This is my fourth Willow Rose novel, and I always look forward to each new release in this captivating series.
The story begins with the heartbreaking discovery of Madison’s lifeless body in the marshlands after she was expected home from school. Her mother is devastated, while her stepfather, John, remains unshaken—especially as evidence of Madison’s blood is found in his car, pointing to him as the likely suspect.
With John in custody, Detective Billie Ann believes she’s taken a dangerous man off the streets. But soon after, a terrifying new case lands in her lap: Kayla, a ten-year-old girl, goes missing on her way home from school. Since John is behind bars, it couldn’t be him, leaving Billie Ann at a dead end. When Kayla’s body is discovered, Billie Ann notices a strange star-shaped brand on her skin—a symbol that Madison’s mother recognizes as the emblem of her former church. Could the answers to both cases be hidden within the walls of this secretive community? As another child disappears, Billie Ann knows she must uncover the truth before more innocent lives are lost.
The novel unfolds through multiple points of view, which some readers may find challenging, but Willow Rose’s expert storytelling keeps each perspective essential to the complex plot.
"Find My Girl" was an engaging, fast-paced read with short chapters that kept me turning pages. Most of the characters were well-developed and likable, with Billie Ann’s resilience standing out as especially admirable. I also appreciated the deeper dive into Billie Ann’s family background, which added depth to her character.
The story is emotional, suspenseful, and, compared to the earlier books, delves into more mature themes.
A big thank you to Willow Rose, Bookouture, and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review. Don’t miss "Find My Girl" when it’s released on December 3, 2024.
Willow Rose is back with the fourth installment in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde crime thriller series.
WOW!!! I have loved the first three books in this series, but this is hands down my favorite! This book was deliciously good. It was hard to put this one down. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the first three books as they're amazing. In this fourth book in this series, young girls go missing and Billie Ann is racing against time to figure out the why and who behind the disappearances. As the past collides with the present, the clock is ticking and Billie Anne is working to find the next missing girl before it's too late.
Billie Anne is such a fierce woman and detective. She is dedicated to her job, and will stop at nothing to solve her cases. I just love her as a main character. This book had sinister and evil undertones as the plot is delivered in multiple POVs and over dual timelines. I couldn't put this one down, as I had to know how the two timelines related to one another. When the connection was revealed, I gasped out loud and my jaw hung open for a few minutes. This was such a gripping and intense read that had me on the edge of my seat!
I can't recommend this series enough! I need lots more Detective Billie Ann Wilde in the future!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Book #4 in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. Willow Rose is a prolific writer of many series who has a large fan club and knows exactly what we want in one of her books. These characters are human, they have complicated lives on and off their jobs, which they happen to love. The books have great plot lines set against communities that you can almost recognize populated with a cast of characters that are easy to love....or hate. Rose keeps the stories fast paced and the clues well hidden.
In FIND MY GIRL, Det. Wilde is investigating a missing girl. Wilde's best suspect is the girl's stepfather. With more than enough evidence, she arrests him. When another girl is reported missing, it's obvious the stepfather could not have taken the second girl. When a 3rd girl is missing, new evidence points toward a church group. The story moves quickly as Det Wilde throws all of her resources into preventing more children from being harmed. If you have not read any of Willow Rose's library of titles, you've missed out on some very good mysteries. You can pick a series and binge until you are caught up. Then you'll be a charter member of the Willow Rose fan club too.
Find My Girl (Detective Billie Ann Wilde Book 4) by Willow Rose Pub Date: Dec 03 2024
Find My Girl is book 4 in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. Although I didn't read the other three books in the series I had no problem reading this as a stand a lone. This book is an emotional thriller about a missing girl, then more girls go missing. The story is told from multiple points of view. It's fast paced, full of action with a great plot full of twists and turns leading to a dramatic ending.
Trigger warnings: kidnapping, cults, divorce, child pornography, poisoning and mass suicide.
Synopsis: Madison was supposed to be on the school bus. But she never made it home…Detective Billie Ann Wilde assesses the couple sitting awkwardly on plastic chairs in her interview room, certain she knows exactly what has happened to little Madison Harris. She was supposed to come home on the school bus, but her cold body was found in local marshlands, and as her mother cries desperately, her stepfather, John, barely looks up. And they found Madison’s blood in John’s car…
Many thanks to #FindMyGirl #NetGalley and #Bookouture for providing me with an E-ARC of this 5 star book!
Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and Willow Rose for the eArc of Find My girl.
This is the 4th instalment from the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. I have read all the previous books but this also can be read as a standalone as the majority of the plot is the case that Bille Ann Wilde is investigating . I have really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. The pacing of the writing ebbs and falls fluently giving an overall medium pace, The tension that's created throughout the narrative keeps you engaged and if you are unlucky enough not to be able to read it one sitting, you will be itching to pick it up when you have a spare few minutes,
I also like how Willow Rose builds her characters. They are flawed, human and make iffy decisions which, for me, makes them more likeable. This definitely goes for Billie Ann Wilde, who has to balance being a Mum to teens, her own life choices and her work, The pay off at the end just warrants another book which I really hope materialises so we can see how our Bille Ann Wilde processes with her life.
4.5 stars for Storygraph, 4 stars for other review sites.
Ten year old Madison Harris has been found dead in the marshlands. Her step-father is the prime suspect. Then another girl, Kayla, goes missing while John is still at the police station. Detective Billie Ann is on the case. When Kayla's body is discovered, Billie Ann noticed a strange star shape branded on her skin. Could this be a clue to who is behind the girls murders?
The story is told from multiple points of view. Due to the murders being children, it can be a bit emotional. It also contains: mass suicide, cults, child pornography, and kidnapping. The characters are complex. There were some shocking scenes. We get some flashbacks to the past. I couldn't even guess who the killer was. I'm really enjoying this series.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #WillowRose for my ARC of #FindMyGirl in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book I've read by Willow Rose and once again, I found an intriguing mystery with a believable police detective leading the procedural. The story starts with some background about Billie Ann Wilde- the lead detective on the case of a missing child. When Madison's body is found in a river with the mark of the devil carved into her skin, the novel takes a dark turn. When a second girl is found with the same circumstances - she didn't return home from school, the tension rapidly builds. I liked the way that Billie Ann followed her instincts and thoroughly investigated the girl's backgrounds, friends and possible outcomes. She also investigated a cult which advocated mass suicide and child porn. These subjects are of course dark and disturbing, but important to the back-story. The twist at the end completely surprised me. I honestly did not see it coming! The author ended the novel on a positive note, and I hope to read more of her work.
Billie Ann, the leading lady in this series, is such a great character. I root for her every step of the way and my heart bleeds for her too.
She does her uttermost best to do what is right for everyone and by helping victims and looking for suspects, which of course are two very important aspects of her job, she loses something that is very precious to her. I still really cannot understand how the judge came to that conclusion...
It seems like she is being let down by those she loves the most and I am very pleased she has the support of her colleagues.
But every cloud has a silver lining and it seems like one has appeared in Billie Ann's grey sky as well.
I thought this is a very powerful and emotional story with shocking and gripping scenes. I am a huge fan of this series with a very lovable detective. 5 stars
Billie Ann has received devastating news from the judge - she has lost custody of her children. While she is trying to come to terms with this, she gets called in to her job as a detective to try to locate a missing girl. There aren't many clues, but Billie Ann and her team are doggedly tracking down whatever they can. It's easy to focus in on the stepfather. He's not exactly the guy who he tried to project.
And then there is a religious cult, lead by a charismatic woman. What role, if any does she have with the missing girls?
This is a real thriller that keeps you reading and guessing until the end. Not everything is as it seems. Billie Ann is tenacious and won't give up until she brings her investigation to the best possible closure.
Detective Billi Ann Wilde is back even after suffering an emotional blow with her ex husband Tom gaining full custody of the children. Chief Harold calls her in to help find a missing girl, Madison Harris, after she hadn't been seen getting on the school bus. Later, Madison is found in the creek. Billie makes an oath to hunt down the culprit. Shortly afterwards, Billie and her team, Scott and Tom, are told about a second girl has gone missing. The story is told over different timelines by different people. The second girl has a mark on her that Billie's Mother recognises from her church, which is run by Pastor Amelia Hawthorne. Why are the children going missing? How are they connected to the church? It's a fast paced, action packed and a heart stopping plot full of twists and turns leading to a dramatic ending.
This is the 4th book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series. It’s another gripping, fast paced read from Willow Rose. It’s a book series that will become a favourite for sure. It has a dual storyline switching from then and now which I love in a read to build the back history so it’s like watching the story unfold in your mind. Really well developed characters especially Billie Ann. You get a real feel for her both personally and professionally. This one covers a subject matter that I can’t get enough of and it really added to the story. The storyline moves at a steady pace with short, quick fire chapters that builds the suspense and keeps you hanging and then throws the surprises in when you least expect it. You need to get started on this series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #FindMyGirl
✨Mystery ✨ Suspense ✨Detective ✨ 4th book - can be standalone
✨ I’m a big fan of willow rose writing, this is a 4th book of the Detective Billie Ann Wilde Book - even though this book can be read as a standalone. But I do recommend to read the first book to understand more better as it contains some flashbacks.
✨‼️ some chapters can be triggering with a child loss so warning .
✨little madison supposed to come home but never made it. To be honest, this hits me home. For someone with a kid always going in the bus it’s an eye opening. The hurt of the parents can be felt on each chapter. Fast paced so it’s light for a mystery.
Definitely worth the read with the twisted ending. Not too strong but atleast it ended with a good plot.
✨ Thankyou @bookouture for the opportunity to read this book for a honest review .

Yes, 5 stars, even though there were times i found reading this book daunting. I've probably read over 500 books, with that being said ( I actually hate that phrase) I believe I can give an honest review. Willow Rose is a great author who definitely needs to either hire, replace or talk to her proof reader. So many phrases and scenarios are repeated over and over again that I came close to closing the book never to read it again. Yes, I'm that sensitive when I'm reading a book. However, I made myself suffer through the errors because Willow does command your attention as a great mystery writer. I am grateful I continued to read this book. My Heart was in my throat for most of it, espec- ially towards the end which was explosive. If you can look past the repetitive scenarios you will be glued to the life and experiences of Emma. Happy reading!
A chilling tale that follows Detective Billie Ann as she investigates the disappearance of some young girls. The investigation leads Billie Ann down 2 disturbing trails – one of which seems very apt today given the current political climate and the other is every parent’s nightmare. There is the implication of child abuse but nothing is overtly mentioned. I’m sure the brief glimpses into Billie Ann’s personal life was to make her more human but I felt it didn’t meld well with the rest of the story. While I have enjoyed other books by this author, I found the telling of this story very flowery which lessened my enthusiasm.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
This is a great crime thriller. Billie Ann has just moved into a new apartment as she has been forced to leave her children with her ex husband. She’s feeling alone and scared of what lies ahead but soon has a missing girl to search for. Billie Ann and the team are shocked when the girl is found dead in the water and are determined to find her killer. Not long after this, another girl is missing and Billie Ann hopes they find her before it’s too late. During the investigation she comes into contact with the church that her parents are involved with and it soon comes to light that it’s leader is hiding a great deal from them. This is a gripping crime thriller that I really enjoyed. Thanks to Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.
Find My Girl is the fourth book in the Detective Billie Ann Wilde series and it will captivate you from the first page. This book was a page turner from the very beginning and it takes readers into a world of secrets, suspense, missing children and so much more. The author wrote this so well and I can not wait for the next book in the series. I loved all of the twists and turns in the book. The characters in this were amazing and I liked Billie Ann a lot. I like this series a lot and recommend you read the other books in it. Overall, this book is one I loved and would recommend to any reader especially to those of you who love mysteries or thrillers. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this amazing read in exchange of my honest review of Find My Girl by Willow Rose.
I’ve discovered that police procedurals are my favorite type of thrillers. I always jump at the chance to discover another series about a detective, especially a female one. Even though I didn’t start this series from the beginning, it was easy enough to jump right in.
Billie Ann is devoted to her job, more than any other part of her life it seems. When girls in her jurisdiction start going missing, she’s determined to find them. When bodies start piling up, with symbols carved into their skin, it brings Billie Ann to a local church, which is so much more than a church.
I easily got lost in this story, and I needed to know how it ended. One part I expected, but the biggest twist at the end definitely surprised me.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC of this book.
Find My Girl, by Willow Rose, is another great Billie Ann Wilde mystery. Billie Ann is tasked to find a missing girl. Her mother is pleading with the detectives to find her. Her husband dropped her child off a block from school, and she was never heard from or seen since then. Her body is found. Another girl is kidnapped and her body is found, but this time the mark of Satan is on her forehead. A third girl is kidnapped and Billie Ann is determined to find her. Billie Ann's life is in a turmoil. The judge granted sole custody of her children to her husband. She and her parents are at odds with each other, and her best friend is shying away. If you like suspense, mystery and action in a fast reading story, then this book is for you.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
When a young girl goes missing free school, detective Billie Ann Wilde is called in to investigate. Suspicion immediately falls on the girl’s stepfather. Then a second girl goes missing and Billie Ann finds links to a cult, one which her parents are involved in. Can she save everyone?
Loved this. Really enjoyed the flashbacks to the past. Billie Ann is a really likeable character, and I’m desperately hoping she gets her happy ending with a new partner and access to her kids. The suspense was great in this and the final killer was completely unexpected. I really hope there is mother book in this series to come!
The story was good. Just can't deal with all the back & forth with main character's job vs kids/family. Then throw in the gay/not gay friend - just over that. And the last part of the book where the 2 characters had almost an ENTIRE chapter of conversation with each person saying something, the other repeating it back, person saying something, repeating it back. It went on & on & on. Just jacked up that entire chapter for me. It was laughable. This could have definitely been written better & getting the points across without the monotonous back & forth. Just ruined that last part for me. I wanted her to just shoot her & it be over.

Let me start off by saying I really enjoy the Billie Ann Wilde series but Find My Girl was not for me. Billie Ann Wilde searches for a young girl who has disappeared on her way home from school. Soon, other girls are reported missing. WhileI still enjoyed the authors writing style, the parallel cult story line was not what I expected and did not hold my interest. Add in some heavy topics including children (though not written in graphic detail, thankfully), Book 4 was not a favorite, I do look forward to Billie Ann Wilde’s next adventure.
A young girl goes missing and while her mother is heartbroken, her stepfather barely shows any emotion. He is arrested for the crime, but while he is still in jail, another young girl goes missing. Detective Billie Ann Wilde must discover whether the crimes are related, and whether or not a religious group nearby has any involvement.
Parts of this book were engaging, but I couldn't connect with the detective nor any of the other characters. The actions of the religious community seemed forced to fit the plot.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
This is not for the faint at heart. A child missing, suspect (stepfather) is arrested but then another child goes missing. Every nightmare a parent prays they never have to live through. Though W. Rose takes a roundabout way of getting to a particular point I still enjoyed reading Book 4. Appreciate an author that can make you imagine you're watching a movie instead of reading a book. Everything a suspense/thriller should have, but beware there are some very sensitive topics. oh and the ending .......
Book four in the Billie Ann Wilde series and a first for me, it's clear to see that Billie Ann is a complex character with a past and although There are glimpses within this book some of the content would have made more sense if it had the added depth of the back story in terms of Nikki Ann's personal circumstances and the characters felt bland to me but the investigative part was all there.
Short sharp chapters, with multiply points of view, in different time lines the length of the chapters meant that the pace and engagement was able to be kept throughout.
(Contains spoiler ) The story is written well with characters the reader can relate to. The fact that so much has gone on, over the space of these four books, in such a small town is a little hard to take. Amanda and her cult is a main subplot, and I had a little trouble with the convenience of so many characters involved in it (even BillieRae’s own parents) Billie Rae’s relationships with Danni and her own kids are subplots that are never really developed, but how the author ties these elements up at the end feels real.
A religious cult. Missing girls. The clues fly around Billie Ann’s mind but she struggles to see how they fit together. Author Rose does pretty dark in this book with not only the subject matter but how far she pushes Billie. The ending finds Billie pretty shattered and I’m curious ti see what happens next. The only thing Billie has later is her career but even that extols a hefty price. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the advance read.
