Tove Jansson’s Moomin stories made her one of the most beloved Scandinavian authors of the twentieth century. Tove Jansson

Prior to getting this I'd not watched any Moomin cartoons or read any of the strips. I didn't know what to expect. I'd assumed that it was cute charm, much like Hello Kitty, that accounted for its popularity. I'd noticed D&Q had put out a lot of Moomin stuff that was well-regarded, so I thought I'd gamble on this 'best of' collection.
As I took it out the nice slipcase I was struck by its quality, size and weight (about 30cm tall and 2.7kg—a little cumbersome for reading in bed, though just about manageable). It begins with lots of illustrations spanning over 2 pages, and several people talking about why they love Tove Jansson. I scanned through to get straight to the strips.
It begins with Moomintroll's rear, as do all the strips. He's trying to stand on his head. From this first page clear themes are set: the expressiveness of Moomintroll's eyes and pose, the panels being filled with an idealised natural world (creatures in the mixed flora and the sky) and general carefree nature (many of the panels don't have lines bordering them—literally making them free, or they are bordered by elements from the story: for example a brush if someone is cleaning, or barbed wire when the Moomins are finding out everywhere they want to rest is privately owned), and a concern with decorum and whimsy. I was quickly smitten.
I'd never read anything like this. The care-free nature and adventures in the stories were a perfect way for me to unwind, and beyond that escapism there was a very personal and identifiable touch in the characters and stories. Often certain characters will refer directly to the reader (in one of the later stories, when it begins with Moomintroll's rear, he explains that he's looking for an adventure, as that's what the readers want, with him and Moominpappa then looking towards the reader in fear). Another of my favourite examples is Moominmamma throwing dirt through her tidy and orderly neighbour's window saying '...why don't you live in a plastic bag yourself, madame?'.
Actually it left me wondering about the translation. I assume Swedish and English have dissimilar wordplay and idioms, yet so much of the story seems perfect in English (for example a boar's wife forgiving the Moomins for eating her husband: '...he was an awful bore'). Thinking about this, even if a lot of licence was taken in the translation, it is the quality that ultimately matters to me.
I give this my highest recommendation. There's nothing I've discovered as playful and charming (including Schulz and Barks). My problem is now I want the complete Moomin collection, but already have this. Also, like a Hello Kitty fan, I've just ordered a Moominmamma mug.

Absolutely fantastic collection of Tove Jansson's complete daily comics collecting 21 story arcs (that I reviewed individually as well).
Overall it's just a wild ride with beautiful characters and a lot of creativity. Unlike many daily strip comics, this has a really good flow to it - it's not bogged down in constant recapping of the previous day's events.
Tove's brother takes over the strip and does about the same amount of content himself. I'll probably start reading those next year.
1 Moomins and the Brigands
Finally taking the time to read all the Moomin books in order. This first one wastes no time getting started. Just a fun series of little adventures. Moomin needs to kick family guests out of his house… which ends up destroying his house. The guy giving him bad advice teams up with him and they set off to try and make some money. Eventually buying a bunch of jewels for Moomin’s girlfriend, they get jumped by the titular Brigands!
Super fun animated drawings.
2 Moomin and Family Life
Another fun volume of this daily strip. Moomin finds his long lost mother and father. His father is such a goofball and just wants to have an adventure - even abandoning Moomin to go live in a cave. They all try to rip off their rich Aunt.
3 Moomin on the Riviera
Another fantastic little story. The Moomins hit up the ritzy Riviera and spend some time in a fancy hotel mistaken for being eccentric Millionaires they rack up huge debts they have no ability to pay for.
4 Moomin's Desert Island
Another highly entertaining volume where Moomin and co find themselves stranded on an island and they meet a new character Mymble.
Collects stories 5-8
5 Moomin's Winter Follies
Another fun adventure with the Moomin family. This time they compete in some Winter Olympic games after failing at hibernation. The host is aggressive and full of himself but the girls really like him.
6 Moominmamma's Maid
This one had some interesting pathos and psychology.
The Moomin's live life carefree but a neighbour persuades them to hire a maid who happens to be the neighbour's maid's sister. The maid comes and she's extremely on edge with a persecution complex. It turns out her sister has been pretending she's a success. The Moomin's finally encourage the maid to try to play pretend and do things that scare her and have a meeting with the sister. Eventually she does cheer up.
7 Moomin Builds a House
Mymble's family comes for a visit. Her mom has 17 tiny (and evil) Mymbles! They try to get her to leave but eventually Moomin decides to build a house for himself. It doesn't go too well but in the end he's got a pretty eclectic building that is certainly not up to code. He ends up gifting the building to Mymble's family.
8 Moomin Starts A New Life
This one features a prophet who convinces the people of Moominvalley to change their lives and live free! No more household chores or laws. It's definitely the most wild of the series thus far. It ends with two different prophets battling it out. It's interesting to see how impressionable the Moomins are, perhaps an analogy for childhood.
9 Moomin Falls in Love
Reminiscent of the very first Moomin prose story, Moominvalley has a huge flood. Moomin rescues the leading lady Miss La Goona and she manipulates him into being essentially a slave for her. In other words, Moomin is a huge simp! This obviously angers Snorkmaiden.
Moomin and La Goona's helper end up leaving and creating a Boys Only club.
It's really goofy childish stuff with a very adult psychological underpinning. I'm reading Balzac right now, so it's on my mind - but this is the kind of comic strip he would have written.
10 - Moominvalley Turns Jungle
(Yet another) great volume. This series has been super consistent up, hopefully all of Tove Jansson's run is. Here the Moomin's face a heatwave... combined with some imported seeds being spread around, and a big rainfall and now the valley is a jungle! Stinky lets the exotic animals loose from the Zoo so they can eat the Moomins for him. Thankfully the characteristic friendliness of the Moomin's slowly wins over all the animals.
A botanist comes to catalogue these new plants and has a fight with a zoologist over the categorization of a carnivorous plant.
Later the Zoo on their way to capture the animals identifies the Moomin's as hippopotamuses and wants to throw them in the Zoo!
I feel the cartooning keeps getting better. Super clear illustrations with a lot of charm.
11 - Moomin and the Martians
Another fun volume and one of the more out-there ones as Moominvalley gets visited by a little Martian. He brings with him a box that the Moomin's fiddle that causes all sorts of chaos like turning Moomin poppa invisible and making everyone float.
12 - Moomin and the Sea
This time Moominpoppa has decided to take the family to a lonesome Lighthouse so he can write his epic novel. But even on the sea he can't get over his writer's block.
The lighthouse is pretty creepy with dead birds, Loch Ness's widow, a creature invisible except for its feet. There's a lot of loose story strands throughout this one. The Moomin's do their best to make the island cheerful, but that eventually gets them fired from the job. Moominpoppa gives up one his epic to great relief and writes a personal story instead.
13 - Club Life in Moominvalley
Not the most exciting of the Moomin strips. This one has the Moomins joining various Clubs around town. Moominmamma gets trapped into joining a Robbers club, a charity club and gets trapped up in having to be faithful to the Robbers club while trying to help people not get robbed! Moominpappa joins a Rebel Club.
14 Moomins Go Wild West
The Moomins create a time machine and go back to the Wild West. It's not Jansson's finest moment with lots of embarrassing depictions of Native Americans. The story also doesn't really go anywhere too interesting. The Moomins get chased off the people's land, accused on stealing cattle, then steal some horses. The Wild West they imagined is more civilized than they thought! Even the "red man" are hamming up the stereotypes and charging for photos.
15 Snorkmaiden Goes Rococo
One of the weaker volumes. Snorkmaiden uses the time machine to go back to 1800s France... but is still in the Moominvalley. She gets involved with a couple men and some shenanigans then realizes she really does like Moomin and goes back to him.
16 The Conscientious Moomins
The Moomins try to be more conscientious - waking up on time, getting jobs, etc. and building their personalities.
17 Moomin and the Comet
Bad weather forces everyone out of the Valley. Only the Moomin's stick around up until a comet starts to head directly to their house. Great artwork as usual but the story didn't really excite me.
18 Moomin and the Golden Tail
Moomin fearing his tail is going bald tries a few remedies but ends up with a golden tail! This creates a lot of buzz and he ends up becoming a minor celebrity which drives him baty. At one point he hides his tail and no one recognizes him.
19 Moomin Winter
The Moomins try to prepare for hibernation but an unwelcome guest comes to the house. These Moomins always let people walk all over them. Miss Fluffins in pretty hilarious, Tove repeats the bit of her saying "Oh, I dont want to intrude" then constantly intruding and causing trouble but trying to be polite all the while. Latter Nibling comes and spies on everyone. Once all the Moomin's secrets are out in the open, they can all finally relax and be themselves.
20 Moomin Under Sail
An epic sea adventure The Moomins start off breaking the fourth wall as they search for adventure to entertain the readers. This is the penultimate volume of Tove's run on the series so it feels a bit like a gesture to the readers that she's perhaps running out of steam.
But it's also a really fun issue. Moominpappa gets the family to build a full-sized ship and they name it the mermaid. During the adventures they run accross a giant sea monster and get boarded by pirates. They eventually run away from the pirates accidently taking their treasure with them and stumble back to their house.
21 Fuddler's Courtship
The final volume of Tove's daily strips before her brother takes over the strip.
Here we get introduced to Fuddler who loves to collect things, he's a very eccentric boy who has troubles talking to women - specifically Mymble. They seek out the help of a paranoid psychiatrist who gets the Moomins into all sorts of trouble.

My boyfriend remembered these fondly from his childhood, but I had never heard of them. He got the full set of books and has been reading them out loud to me over the past two years. We are finishing the final book today. Inevitably and without fail, my boyfriend would start reading and I would be out cold asleep, within minutes, remembering next to nothing of what was going on the next time we resumed the story and constantly requiring catch-ups of the most hilarious kind. It's not my fault that I was charmed to sleep by these books: there's something about the way these stories enter your brain when read comfortingly out loud that will send you to the land of nod. Highly recommended for children needing soothing. If in doubt, page to the Moomin Gallery at the front of the book, which introduces each of the characters and serves as a helpful reference to sleepy girlfriends who can't tell their Fillyjonks from their Tofts, and try to remain immune to the charm.

Yo conocí los Moomins por las caricaturas que ponía el canal 11 del IPN.
Si en algún punto supe que eran un comic, pero siendo de Finlandia pues ni pensar en leerlos.
Y un día vi este tomo y no pude resistir comprarlo.
Por su tamaño no podía andar llevándolo a lados a leer, así que tarde.
Pero aun así cuando podía le dedicaba a leer un episodio, finalmente es un compendio.
Y si, todas las aventuras de los Moomins son divertidas, aparte con personajes extra geniales, mi favorita es Little My.

I discovered the world of Moomin through this book. The library where I worked received it and one of my coworkers hung the included poster in her cubicle. We were both so charmed by the illustrations we had to read the books. Both the chapter books and the comics are wonderful, touching, and deeper than you'd assume at first and I highly recommend reading both. This collection is a perfect way to experience the comics. They're all here, and in order (minus the strips Lars did once Tove left--they have their own volume now). The book itself is a beautiful thing--large, but not so big or awkward that you can't read it comfortably (an issue I have with the giant Calvin and Hobbes collection and the annotated Sandman volumes) and well-bound. I had so many moments of recognition while reading. Jansson is one of those writers who can capture an entire mood in a single sentence or panel. I found myself photographing panels to show to others, saying, "That's me!"

Absolute bangers straight from the source. Tove Jansson has done incredible work with these strips. The illustrations are amazing and the humor is so great. You really get a feel for all the characters and their unique personalities. I read one story each morning and they just leave you with a feeling of innocent carefree bliss. I feel like there is a simple living philosophy radiating from the pages that forces you to consider slowing down, not taking things too seriously, and being open to what ever adventures come your way.

December 7, 2020I've been reading this very slowly throughout the year because I didn't want it to end. It's all so wholesome and whimsical and gently philosophical. And wow I want their lifestyle of living in the woods by the sea and going on adventures but never completely losing sense of who they are and their love of life's little pleasures.

It's really hard to fault these comics. The only reason I could see someone not liking them is if they find the humour a bit precious or they're some kind of malformed gibbering neo human so cheaply moulded by computer politics as to see it as reactionary or something.
It's baffling to realise these were published in newspapers. Can you imagine reading a newspaper comic section and getting something this funny? I don't really care about comics so when I dip my toes it's usually the stuff that has prestige to become "a comic for non comic readers", like Watchmen or The Invisibles or some big name spin off artsy short run stuff. And that sort of understanding gives you a weirdly skewed view of comics as only being great when they have lots of words and are very serious. And the Moomin comics are like a repudiation of that: they're genius comics as comics on their own terms. You couldn't do deep literary analysis of them but they're brilliantly crafted, perfectly consistent in tone throughout, yet constantly surprising in a way that delights rather than unnerves or jars.

I believe that it must be better in British- I'm glad it wasn't translated over here. Their language is ideal for that family. Vintage and proper.
I especially enjoy her panel separations when she draws something like an umbrella, cane, electrical wire, ropes and other such articles between. Why haven't others done that? I've read such a wide swath of worldwide sequential art narrative in such great numbers and don't remember ever seeing it done otherwise. Maybe Schaafsma has- the numbers that he has read are legendary.

Į šitą storą ir didelę knygą (troleibuse nepaskaitysi) sudėti 21 mumių komiksas, kuriuos piešė Tove Jannson (kitame tome - jos brolio Larso pratęsta serija). Nebuvau jų skaičiusi, ilgai taupiau, skaitydama galvojau - kaip taip išeina, kad jos romanai - vaikiški, o komiksai - tokie suaugėliški. Nors gal ir romanai nėra taip jau vaikams, iš daugelio draugių girdėjau, kad jų vaikams mumiai ne prie širdies. O vat komiksai - ir absurdiški, ir ironiški, ir kartais labai atpažįstami, tikros komedijos ir tobulas skaitinys "pamąstymams".
Mintys:
1. Kokia disfunkcinė yra muminukų šeimyna:
- KIEK MUMINUKO TĖTIS GERIA. Ieško lobio - randa viskio dėžę, pabėga nuo šeimos - eina į olą su krūva butelių, keliaudamas kraunasi atskirai butelių bagažą. Netgi atradau piešinuką, kuris perkeltas ant mano turimo mumių puodelio, bet išcenzūruotas, nuimti buteliai.
- Vienam komikse Muminukas verkia, kad yra praradęs šeimą, tėvus, yra vienas pasauly... tada eina skandintis, bet jam nesiseka: neskęsta vandeny. Tuo tarpu Muminuko Mama su Tėčiu (kažkada seniai netekę sūnaus) plaukioja valtele, Muminuko Tėtis sako: o, kažkas plaukia, gal viskis??? Jie išsigriebia Muminuką, klausia, ko jis čia plaukioja vienas pats, jis verkia, kad yra vienas pasauly, neturi šeimos, tai išėjo žudytis. Mama susirūpina, sako, ateik pas mus, išgersi arbatos, vargšeli. Muminukas ateina ir pamato puodelį ir žaislus, kuriuos turėjo vaikystėj!!! Sako, čia buvo mano, kai buvau mažas. Muminuko Mama ir Tėtis sako: vadinasi, tu turbūt mūsų dingęs sūnus!!! (iki tol nesuprato) Visi laimingi. Paskui paaiškėja, kad Muminukas turi draugą Snifą, prašo tėvų, gal jie gali jį įsivaikinti. Taip visi paskui ir gyvena.
- Snifas bet kokia pasitaikiusia proga vagia viską iš namų ir bando perparduoti.
- Dar su jais apsigyvena Muminuko panelė Freken Snork (taip ir nesupratau, ar reikia laikytis Comet in Moominland naratyvo, kad būtent tada ji atkeliavo į šeimyną, kaip ir Snusmumrikas. Jei taip, kodėl niekur nėra jos brolio Snorko? Bet esmė ta, kad kiekviename komikse arba Muminukas, arba Freken Snork sutinka kitą vyrą / moterį ir juos / jas įsimyli, būna vienas kitam neištikimi, stumia: tu tai ne toks kaip tas fizinio treneris, tu ne tokia graži kaip ta aktorė. Ir gale nebūtinai susitaiko :(
- Apskritai tas jų vidinis lengvumas ir prisitaikymas prie bet kokio chaoso žiauriai trigerino kažkokius mano kompleksus, ir čia jau mano problema, o ne jų disfunkciškumas. Pavyzdžiui, užplūsta svečiai, atima tavo kambarį, erdvę laiką - nieko, išeini miegot ant hamako ir taip miegi dienomis ir savaitėmis. Arba - nusprendžia plaukti atostogų, išplaukia į Rivjerą su visais daiktais neribotam laikui. Skaitydama vis galvojau, ką jie man primena, kol cinktelėjo - Durrellų šeimyną, nuo pradžių iki galo, kokia ji pasirodo Mano šeimoj ir kituose gyvūnuose: vieną dieną ima ir susikrauna daiktus ir persikrausto iš niūrios Anglijos į Korfu. Ir mažojo Džerio mama, ir brolis su sese - tipiški mumių slėnio gyventojai. O gal tiesiog pats Geraldas Durrellas buvo Tove's sielos brolis ir jie sugebėjo sukurti tokį širdimi lengvą gyvenimą, kad net vietomis trikdo skaityti. Trikdo susidurti su tokia gyva ir nevaldoma laisve, ant tiek trikdo, kad net jos nepavydu. Bet sykiu pamilsti tuos personažus - tiek mumių šeimyną, tiek Durrellus - kaip tą pačią laisvę.
2. Sykiu įvairios situacijos, į kurias jie pakliūva, atrodo paimtos tiesiai iš kokių nors Jacques'o Tati, vietomis tai ir Chaplino ar Busterio Keatono komedijų. Ir kaip jie išvažiuoja atostogauti į Rivjerą ir nuolat ten apsikvailina (nežino, kas yra viešbutis, viską sugadina ir sugriauna, bando būti cool, bet iš tiesų nuolat jaučiasi ne vietoj), ir kaip jie bėga nuo piratų, bet paskui patys tuos piratus gelbsti iš jūros, ir kaip pas juos žiemą atkeliauja fizinio treneris Ponas Briskas ir verčia visus slidinėti, čiuožinėti ir aktyviai leisti laisvalaikį (o jie nesupranta ir klausia viens kito: what is sport?):
o visos slėnio panelės įsimyli Poną Briską ir laksto jam iš paskos su pačiūžom. Arba kaip Mumių Slėnyje įsisuka Pranašas, pradeda visiems aiškinti apie Laisvą Gyvenimą ir visi meta darbus, Muminuko Tėtis persikrausto gyventi į medį:
bet tuoj čia pat atsiranda iš kalėjimo paleistas Stinkis ir prikalbina jį virti ir pardavinėti samagoną, patį Muminuką Stinkis įkalbina tapti plėšiku; paskui į slėnį atkeliauja Piktas Pranašas, liepia visiems atsikratyti žemiškųjų gėrybių, visi išmeta tai prisiplėštas brangenybes, tai samagoną, o Stinkis viską susirenka ir pralobsta. Ir įvairiausi kiti siužetai su absurdiškais posūkiais.
3. Atrasti ir pamilti personažai:
Stinky - piktukas blogietis banditas, bet ne toks bjaurus kaip Snifas. Visą laiką užsiima kriminalais arba sėdi kalėjime. Vienam komikse Muminuko Tėtis nusprendžia, kad jam reikia atsinaujinti tapatybę, įsteigia vyrų klubą ir nepriima žmonos, tai ji įsižeidusi įstoja į Stinkio klubą, o pasirodo, kad ten plėšikai. Ir, kaip narė, ji privalo slapstyti juos nuo teisėsaugos, neišduoti, kai jie plėšia kaimynus arba kai policininkas užsuka į svečius, o tuo metu yra švarinamas jo namas.
Too-Ticky - atsiskyrėlė, nieko neprobleminanti, sugebanti iškart be jokios nuostabos pastatyti laivą, sutvarkyti visų problemas, net padėti vaiduokliukui. Tokia tarsi nematoma, bet viską sutvarkanti, net ir normalių jos komiksų nuskenuotų internete neradau.

Kodėl juos taip gera skaityti / žiūrėti, gal ta laisvė ir tas disfunkciškumas koreliuoja? Arba - laisvė turi savo kainą? Nežinau, ir man gražiausia pas mumius buvo ne deep filosofijos, o atpažįstamos situacijos, kur pasielgiama "ne pagal protokolą", bet sykiu tai nepateikiama kaip geriausias (ar normaliausias) iš geriausių pasaulių, tiesiog - įmanomas, kartais gal nelabai įmanomas, bet jei tai tavo komiksas ir tu jį paišai, tai kas tau uždraus?? tuo ir įmanomas, minties, kūrybos ir netgi nesąmonių laisve.
Nors ne visi komiksai lygiaverčiai, pvz man visiškai nepatiko tas, kur jie atranda laiko mašiną ir keliauja į Laukinius Vakarus, - visa knyga yra visiškai terapinė, nuotaikai pakelti ir dar labiau pamilti laisvę. Nu ir be proto gražiai nupiešta - ne taip gražu, kaip Jansson grafika arba akvarelės iš mumių romanų, bet visos išraiškos, reakcijos, komiksų rėmeliai - viskas tiesiog spinduliuoja ta pačia laisve.

See kogumik Tove ja Lars Janssoni koomiksitega on üks lahedamaid ja ilusamaid asju, mida ma oman. Lugemiseks pole see küll kuigi ideaalne, sest raamat on tohutu ja kaalub mitu kilo. See-eest mahub sinna väga-väga palju headust, mida nautida, kui hiigelteos on õnnestunud siiski mugavalt sülle vinnata.

Ma pean tunnistama, et olin pisukese eelarvamusega Lars Janssoni koomiksite osas, sest tundub, et õige muumivärk on ikka see, mis tuleb Tove sulest (tegelikult pole ju näiteks multikatega sugugi nii). Kohati olid aga Larsi koomiksid isegi naljakamad, nii et nüüd pean endale kiiremas korras muretsema deluxe editioni teise osa.

Superbly random and super charming. (My fave of the lot was "Moomin and the Sea", which manages to lampoon and celebrate both Gothic ghost stories and Hemingway wannabes.)

I loved the Moomin animated series as a child. So naturally I had to read this. The Moomin comics and the children's show are like day and night. The real Moomin comics are not for children. I laughed the whole entire time. In one short, Moominpappa convinces Moominmama to abandon their son. They steal, they break laws, they go on adventures, Moominpappa even distills his own whiskey. A man of culture Moominpappa just wants to write his autobiography. Moominmamma is the best character because she has the patience of a saint. If anybody pulled any of the stunts that her husband or son did I'd be livid. Baby Moomin isn't much of a baby. He's a full grown adult named Moomintroll who complains too much yet somehow has a girlfriend named Snorkmaiden. In all their adventures they are always getting into trouble or creating chaos. I love it. They're hilarious.
But knowing that Tove Jansson was a lesbian makes me wonder if this is her take or view on marriage, relationships, and children.
Also included in the book are pages of copies of the original illustrations in Swedish.
A must read for those who like whimsical stories or characters.

It’s not the Moomins you expect to know. In these comic strips they don’t shy away from topics like death, loneliness or unwelcome visitors. Nevertheless, it’s been a very warm and heartfelt journey reading this collection. I recommend everyone to at least give the Moomin comic strips a try. They can also be found in smaller volumes if you don’t want to go all in.

This was an absolutely wonderful journey from start to finish. I grew to deeply love these characters and found delight in their humour, logic, and predicaments. I also discovered the character of Little My, who I declare my soulmate. I only mourn the fact that it took 26 years for me to hear of them, though I'm so glad I finally did.

I prefer the little books that aren't so cumbersome. It's a LUG of a book. It's obvious when her brother took over the stories, but the Illustrations in the Rococo story are so charming, all is forgiven. Snorkmaiden in "The Swing". Too. Much. Fun.

Ještě tomu musím dát šanci s Agi, úplně mě to nechytlo, tak jak asi mělo/mohlo. Některé příběhy jsou funny, určitě je tam mnohem víc chytrých vsuvek a odkazů, než jsem napoprvé pochytila. Přesto spíš pobavilo, ale hvězdy si nechávám na další přečtení… každopádně respekt Tove!

Atmosféra muminích komiksů je poměrně výrazně odlišná od knih, taková, skoro bych řekla až...podvratná. Zároveň jsou komiksy ale stále vyplněny vřelostí, touhou po dobrodružství a věděním, že hodně problémů nakonec vždy spraví i pouhé objetí a teplý nápoj, tak, jak jsme u Tove Jansson zvyklí.

What a beautiful book. I have always admired both moomin and peanuts for their childlike escapism, yet their tackling of slightly more philosophical themes brings such a cozy and important feel. You're able to relate to the moomins and their friends and feel as though you're going on the adventures with them. My favourite character, though he was only in one or two comics, was Wimsy; I can't tell you why but I was so drawn to him and his little hat and sweet little face.
I would recommend this book to everybody. Even if you're not a fan of comics or moomins in general it is clear that they have such a generational appreciation and provide a lovely cozy read on a nice day.
